Dark Mode (A10) Quick Switch? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Hey
Coming from a Pixel 4 where I can toggle Dark Mode system wide with a simple click in the Tiles Menu, isn't there any quick switch for OxygenOS running Android 10? I'm currently running OnePlus 7T and Android 10.
Thanks

The only way to run on dark mode system wide is to do it through settings>customization, there is no tile that you can toggle that I know of.

[Q] [Paranoid Android] - Pie Control settings

So i recently instaled PA on my Nexus 7 and so far it's been ok, I like the ROM but the main reason I installed it was for the Pie control / Immersive Mode without having to install a module for it bt still being able to use the THEME engine from CM11 (my fav rom)
that being said, I've been trying to find the settings for the pie control so I can make the clock and info show up quicker, is there a menu for it ? was I just not able to find it ?
Sorry, but there's no such thing.
I wish I could stop using PIE and start using KitKat controls again instead.

Yes, the NavBar. But the semi-transparent one, not the gradient one. The one you can use while using Immersive mode.

TAP the little square on top of the immersive mode button, it'll switch to another button that can give you options for what you wanna do

Immersive mode gone?

I've been searching through my settings to enable immersive mode for the home screen but I can't find it. Is it gone forever?

Uhh, it works through a custom launcher. I use Nova and my navbar goes clear at the home screen.

So I have to use a custom launcher now just to be able to hide the status bar? That's stupid! Not that I'm against custom launchers but this used to be a BASIC feature in Android Kitkat.
unfortunately day by day android is becoming matured and restricting lot of basic functions. e.g you can not disable data by single click on quick settings or third party app can not change data settings also you can not change mode of of GPS by single click. security issues and what i feel android is slowly getting close to IOS by restricting many features to make it secure. Ultimately you need to root you phone to enjoy android

As far as I know there was never a setting for Immersive mode in stock Android, it has always been up to the app to decide. There are apps that allow you to force immersive mode but I've never found them to work well.
Perhaps you were using a custom ROM that had that feature such as CM.

Hide navbar only on Nova?

Possible? If so, help please lol
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
there is. I can't seem to figure out how to link in the xda app here, but goto the apps forum and look for a thread on immersive mode via adb... theres a command to hide on a per app basis.
It's an option in Nova under Look & Feel.

Hide navigation bar towards the bottom.
Maybe it is not an option on the XL? Already sent mine back so cannot check.

Probably not. Are you on a Samsung?

My apologies, that's not Samsung navigation buttons. Hmmm one plus?

Looks like not. I just checked on mine (Nova Prime, current stable version) and no hide nav bar or hide clock as shown in jpasint's screenshot.
My bad, sorry. I am subscribed to so many threads in a few different forums and I didn't realize this thread was in the Pixel forum when I originally replied.
This option is not in Nova on my N6 but it is available on my Note8.

Steps to make it happen:
1. Enable Developer Settings by mashing the Build Number in the About Phone section of Settings
2. Enable USB Debugging
3. Connect to a PC
4. Enter commands as follows based on exactly what you want:
Hide Navbar and Statusbar in Nova
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
Hide only the Navbar in Nova
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
Hide Navbar and Statusbar in Nova and another app
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=com.teslacoilsw.launcher,com.otherpackagename
Hide Navbar and Statusbar in all apps
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*
You can probably see the pattern. You can have immersive mode hide the Navbar, Statusbar, or both, and enter apps manually by package name or enable for all with the *.
Nothing to see here.

Hello,
Thank you very much for this tips. The bad thing is that Nova keeps a free space where the navbar was. Do you know a workaround for this? I'm under Oreo 8.0.0
Have you tried "Navigation Bar Hider" from the Play Store? No root required. Just a simple ADB command. I have the navbar hidden only in Nova. Seems to work the way you want it to.
With Dirty Unicorn and AquariOS you can hide the Nav bar per app. I chose to hide the Nav bar for nova launcher and nova launcher prime only with DU and it worked. Everything else still shows the nav bar.

I don't know a workaround. I completely disable the Navbar and use a pie control on my device, so I can't do any quick debugging on the immersive mode.
Which pie control? I'm testing fooview nowadays. @RoccoN4 Thank you for the Navigation Bar Hider tip but it gives the same as the adb command. Nevertheless, it is useful.

There is a setting for navigation bar color in Nova that needs to be set to translucent. Immersive mode is likely working and Nova is screwing it up.

Is possible hide and show like op5t or s8 plus in stock rom but rooted?

Question Mysterious tile in quick settings

Guys.. whats that systemUIGX tile? I dont know how it got there nor what app it belongs to.
That is weird! Just checked mine and don't see such a tile...
yea. it didnt have it either days ago.
I've confirmed that a tile like that is not in my list of enabled or disabled quick tiles.
Is there a way to find out, where each quick tile stems from?

Well, if they don't come from the stock Android (i.e. they come from an app you have installed), if you have the tile disabled, it should say where it comes from. Screenshot of an example in a sec.
Edit: In the below screenshot, "CleanSlate Configuration" was scrolling across all of these tiles. I have other third-party tiles that show similar information but with the other apps' particular names. These are all disabled tiles. I don't know if the scrolling information shows when they're enabled at all - or maybe they only show when you're in edit mode but still show when they're enabled.

Are you stock or are you on a custom ROM?
Is it the wireless debugging tile in Quick settings developer tiles found within Developer Options?
I've seen that in the past (Pixel 2/3?) when rooted and using magisk modules... it's been a few years though. just magisk probably... just hide it for now
@xflowy, a screenshot of what Magisk Modules you're using?
I noticed this on Reddit. I suspect that @xflowy started that thread.

And @Alekos I found this which seems to jive with what you're saying you've seen:

It really doesn't shed any light on the situation to me as it's above my head. It's the only XDA post that came up in my search and is in the Pixel 2 forum.
Weird, I had the exact same QS tile appear on my device yesterday, toggling on/off seems to reload the whole system UI, but I'm unsure what it does otherwise (or how it appeared). I was doing a factory reset anyway, so it didn't stick around for long
