Does anyone read the announcements? We know there are performance issues and addressed that in the change log and announcement

Well, to be fair, I thought the same thing when I saw your initial screenshots. Consider it a timing thing...
I made it a point to click "Thanks" for the post as well.
Where could we find the tar file for this security update, and do you guys think it could be flashed on rooted device?

The TAR file is not yet available. I am watching for it. Once it is out (and it could take as long as a few weeks) I will get it on a fast site for downloads and post the link at my thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Again, you need to be patient.
Once that is up, flash the TAR, the Root file and TWRP via Odin (not all at once) and you are set.
Restored, updated, reinstalled TWRP, and Rooted. Everything's working so far....
Only thing I noticed new was one hand operation is now present. And better performance. Waiting if any im p rovement in battery life.

All the icons on the dock are different from mine.
So I put the Galaxy S5 OneHand back on. Works great! The only thing I have yet to do is deodex. Every time I do, it force closes like everything. -.-
But xposed is working without deodex, so I may just stay odexed.

Pixel Dark Theme

Is there anyone creating a dark theme for the Pixel? I just can't stand dialer, messenger, and settings menu all white.... So annoying. I know we have unlock and root now and wondering if anyone is creating a work around to enable a true "dark mode" or a theme that themes all the Google apps?

Yeah. All the good stuff usually does.
I think maybe I misunderstood the OP is he asking for something like TRDS in the old Slim days? Or just a way to get as much black as possible?

Was there anything else that you had to do other than root to get substratum working? I'm wondering if maybe it's not working because I'm still on NDE63L and not P as I am rooted and I get a list of compilation errors when I try to apply a theme (swift dark)

Weird maybe I'll try uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I'm up in Canada and it doesn't look like we've gotten the P update up here yet though I doubt that's actually the problem
Edit: unfortunately still getting the error ?

I'm getting a warning message saying don't flash any system or framework themes. So what's actually safe to flash on sub?

Everything I have read said doesn't work on Pixel 7.1.1. Proceed at your own risk. That being said I tried Magpie, Spectrum and Divinity with no bootlooping. Legacy theming is similar to 7.0. Kinda janky. Make sure you can fastboot system image and or format user data if anything goes wrong.
Just an update, I pushed the 63P update to my phone and substratum now works! I don't know if anything else was going on and I just needed to wipe or if going from L to P was needed but at least it's working now

Substratum causing soft-brick and other troubles

Hey everybody, I wonder if anyone is in the same situation as me. I can obviously undue what substratum did to revert the soft brick but I'm just confused as to why this is happening when I soft reboot after a theme install. If I power off instead, the overlays are accepted and the device boots fine, however only some some of the overlays work. I cannot apply a system UI theme, it just remains stock.
This all use to work just fine when I first got the device back in November.

System ii has some issues with the themes, your best bet is use swift dark or swift black only.
I'm running the Oct update to do my theme requirements.

Sorry, I meant Android system not system UI that didn't accept the theme which controlled the notifications look. So it seems you too have the same dilemma.

Off course you can sideload it, but it doesn't actually work in all countries; you get stopped serverside.

Finally working. Been waiting for months it seems. Good to have it back, some of that functionality should just come stock with the phone.
I downloaded the new version for android 10 but I still dont have a way to mod the lock screen or nav bar. Lock Star and Navi Star are missing? Dont seem like much of an update if two of the main features are missing..
I have lock star but not nav bar. Never used nav bar. Popular to one may not be popular for the next person.

How did you get Lock Star? I updater to Android 10 yesterday and downloaded the Good Lock app that's supposed to be for 10 but like I said I have all the the other apps but no Lock Star or Navi Star? What could be wrong??
Previously things that didn't work said unplugged but now even they it doesn't work lockstar says installed not unplugged. It's broke, sorry for the misinformation.
