Hey everybody, I wonder if anyone is in the same situation as me. I can obviously undue what substratum did to revert the soft brick but I'm just confused as to why this is happening when I soft reboot after a theme install. If I power off instead, the overlays are accepted and the device boots fine, however only some some of the overlays work. I cannot apply a system UI theme, it just remains stock.
This all use to work just fine when I first got the device back in November.

System ii has some issues with the themes, your best bet is use swift dark or swift black only.
I'm running the Oct update to do my theme requirements.

Sorry, I meant Android system not system UI that didn't accept the theme which controlled the notifications look. So it seems you too have the same dilemma.

It seems like the app checks for resolution and/or screen density. Restoring the nav bar height to stock fixed it for me.

You can still use it as long as you enable soft keys. But sift keys are ugly. Use pie.

Guys, the solution is too easy:
Enable status and navbar with stock height, set theme and change back to pie or whatever you like

That's great in theory but you get misaligned themes then that look ugly / don't work properly. I'm watching the app but until they can support full screen I won't be using it.

Yes, it actually does. I'm using CM10.2 NIGHTLY, and it works fine. Plus, many other people with custom roms say it works. If you're on a Nexus 4, or any other device with no hardware keys and just soft keys, make sure that soft keys are ENABLED. (if this STILL doesn't work, I think it must be that it only works with AOSP roms)

You pointed out the reason why they don't support custom nav bar height / expanded desktop: how can they possibly align the themes if there are thousands of space configurations for the same device? Supporting the stock configuration seems like the most logical and reasonable choice.

This is only a Beta app and this kind of support has to come or it will ale off massively imo.
I was using Buzz Launcher until recently and that handles many screen sizes / configurations without issue. I feel in time Themer can achieve or even surpass this level.

If I remember correctly Buzz launcher stretches the assets to accommodate different sizes. This is not ideal imo.

To get themes to stick download package disabler pro and manually add theme store and theme center
Can you explain in simple terms how you get them to stick. I have Disabler Pro but only theme store app shows up and theme doesn't stick...I looked on the thread you linked and I must be missing something cause I'm lost it doesn't make sense

Is anyone having issues with custom themes not even showing up after installation? I can't even see them.
edit* nevermind, did a re-install and everything is great now.
Give them a second after you install it will show
Restarting deletes the theme themecenter I added. Anyway to keep this from happening

Use an older version of package disabler pro or a different disabler
So we can use custom themes now that we used to have to flash?
for some reason when i disable both theme store and themecenter using disable pro i get a unfortunately touchwiz home has stopped error not sure why anyone have an idea?
I've manually disabled both packages but the theme still reverts back after a few minutes any ideas? At&t s7e with newest package disabler pro
Edit: seems to he sticking now after manual enable and disabled again.
Will this stick after reboot?
Use a different app or a different version to disable packages if it doesn't stick

Is there anyone creating a dark theme for the Pixel? I just can't stand dialer, messenger, and settings menu all white.... So annoying. I know we have unlock and root now and wondering if anyone is creating a work around to enable a true "dark mode" or a theme that themes all the Google apps?

Was there anything else that you had to do other than root to get substratum working? I'm wondering if maybe it's not working because I'm still on NDE63L and not P as I am rooted and I get a list of compilation errors when I try to apply a theme (swift dark)

Everything I have read said doesn't work on Pixel 7.1.1. Proceed at your own risk. That being said I tried Magpie, Spectrum and Divinity with no bootlooping. Legacy theming is similar to 7.0. Kinda janky. Make sure you can fastboot system image and or format user data if anything goes wrong.
Just an update, I pushed the 63P update to my phone and substratum now works! I don't know if anything else was going on and I just needed to wipe or if going from L to P was needed but at least it's working now

If it's off center, did you change the DPI? That's probably why, change it back, think 640 is stock, not 100% on that tho.

Oh yea, weird..are you stock ? Rooted ? Custom ROM? Have you changed DPI?
If you haven't then I can only assume it's a screen defect, looks really odd.
If it's pure stock then yes thats odd.
Change the sizing of things within display.
If rooted with custom ROM the the DPI section.
