Hey guys. Can the US unlocked version be rooted? I just order it a few days ago and can't wait to get it. I haven't rooted a phone in a while but I'm not even sure if this variant can be rooted

** fastboot flash boot magisk-patched_boot.img **
The instructions are already on XDA. Just Search for them
I seem to be having a horrible time rooting my 7T (purchased directly from OnePlus). I've been able to unlock bootloader, and patch an img file via Magisk.
However, the results are either getting the Qualcomm crashdump--or successfully rooting, but breaks the wifi. (Haven't tried inserting the SIM Card yet.)
Already had to use MSM tool a couple of times.
Is there a definitive guide with build versions?

Same.
Did you ever figure it out?
I just install twrp 3.5.10 or Chinese twrp, and flash Magisk.zip (rename magisk.apk to magisk.zip) on top of OOS11
Which root method did you use?
One of these...
Or this
longer, slightly more involved one?
Make sure the new version matches the version already one the phone

Does anyone know a way to unlock the bootloader of Oneplus 7t without asking for an unlock code from T-mobile? I was able to get it network unlocked however never rooted it. Even on my oneplus 5t which I'm trying to root(got bootloader unlocked) I can't root because it says "waiting for device" when trying to flash the twrp.img file and that phone is a global variant. It seems like I'm having issues with both for "waiting for any device" through adb.

I unlocked bootloader using "tool all in one". I attached program. Can you show me where to go to for:

2. Rooting it
I backed up to One plus switch however after the bootloader got unlocked I can't restore a back up and now I'm hell bent to atleast convert to global rom 11/root lol.

Hi, I have a oneplus 7T that belongs to T-MOBILE, I decided to make it global, after doing the process I made the mistake of blocking the bootloader after that the terminal does not pass the error "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot ", I can only enter the fastboot mode, I have tried to enter the EDL mode to do the process again through the MSM through the adb commands and through a deep flash cable and np I have been lucky.
I have also tried to unlock the bootloader but it does not allow me, because it gives me an error related to that I have to enable unlocking through the android developer.
The pc only recognizes the terminal as "Android Bootloader Interface".
So if you can acces the fastboot mode have you tried flashing a oos10/11 fastboot rom ?

Never relock bootloader as easy to hard brick. Try to set up msmtool on another pc and good usb-C cable. Also u should move this post to Q-A
Hi
I had is same problem, and is very easy to solve.
You only have use the method for which to use for covert the device in global versión, but only
you must do the steps until the equipment is unlocked, and then instead of continuing with the procedure, what you must do is flash a stock firmware that corresponds to the region of your mobile.
It's all a matter of taking the procedure to the point where it allows it to be flashed through fastboot

It is not necessary to use the TMobile rom, you just have to get to the point where the phone is unlocked with the command "fastboot flashing unlock_critical" and then jump to steps 7 and 8 of the guide referenced in the link I shared.

I already know how to unlock the bootloader. I just know that on some TMobile variants of OnePlus devices, like the OnePlus 8 you have to go through a bunch of extra **** to be able to unlock the bootloader, but if you have the boot file that is prepatched with magisk you can just flash that as long as it is the same version. Does anyone know if you have to have the sim unlocked in order to unlock the bootloader like you do with the op8? Or can you just enable OEM unlock and then adb to unlock the bootloader?
Here is a guide for unlocking the bootloader on TMO OP9P.

As for rooting, it is rather simple once the bootloader is unlocked..
You may know certain things, but I do not have a clue as to what you already know. Therefore I take it step by step to help you achieve what you are wanting to do!
I am working on the rooting instructions as of now and will post them for you complete with links! Be patient.
Rooting the OnePlus 9 Pro
1) Unlock the bootloader using the guide from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-unlock-the-t-mobile-bootloader.4256319/
2) Make sure you have the latest platform-tools installed on computer from here
https://technastic.com/android-sdk-platform-tools-download/
3) Download the latest TWRP img and rename it twrp.img from here and save it in your platform-tools folder
https://dl.twrp.me/lemonadep/twrp-3.7.0_11-0-lemonadep.img
4) Download Magisk apk file from here and save it to your platform-tools folder
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v25.2/Magisk-v25.2.apk
5) Click on the address bar of windows explorer and type "cmd" to open a command windows
6) With phone connected to PC, copy the magisk app to internal storage and then type "adb reboot bootloader" and hit enter
7) Once in bootloader mode, type "fastboot boot twrp.img" enter
8) once twrp loads, tap install and select the magisk app and install it then reboot to system
9) once OS has loaded, go into app drawer and tap on Magisk (looks like a green android icon) and follow the prompts,
10) Reboot and enjoy a rooted phone but not completely rooted!
11) Download the RO2RW script from here
https://mega.nz/file/HcxQiaLD#P17H3LsvUc4Y5S9mG3jTqHmoMvuyImYKvigX20VZ7xU
12) Follow instructions from this link

I wanted to confirm that you don't need sim unlock to unlock bootloader. You can enable oem toggle with adb or one+tool and unlock bootloader and root. I did need to submit my token and wait a week. There have been recent reports of the unlock bin sent back from OnePlus automatically isn't right and people are reaching out to support to get the right bin back.
I submitted my token, flashed to EU, unlocked bootloader without token, rooted. Then when my token arrived a week later, I went back to stock Tmo rom, unlocked with token, and rooted.
(I monitored the requests for sim unlock to see if I could find anything useful. I monitored failures and successful unlock packets and then went back to EU rom)

I meant to quote you in my above post. Sorry
termux proot-distro can root as well but android kernel not rooted
you sure can root Tmo stock rom. the numbers may be differet but the iteration of firmware is the same on all variants. Its been a while, but, my first OP9P i flashed whatever. Just use the boot.img from AA or EU but be careful. It has to match. Example: Tmo 11.2.4.4 compatible boot.img with 11.2.8.8 AA/EU/NA. And so on.
For me, I'm lost with the newer firmwares and just got back. Will be converting cause Tmo wont sim unlock my paid off phone. Sick of Tmobile at this point

Without telling us what you did that led up to this disaster, how can anyone help you fix this. Second we need to know what model of op11 you have to see what can be done. Third since this is ab device in bootloader mode, you could switch slot to at least have phone maybe working.

Is treu you boot with kernelsu and after this you patch init_boot.img (or flash magisk to aktive slot ) and now is init boot patched . On us model (rom)
And india, china, global/eu you can direkt use the init_boot.img from full firmware pack and patch it with magsik and flash it .
Init_boot.img is the ram disc
Than the ram disc is no longer in boot.img on devices with a13

This is here for op11 and when he have flashed a patched boot.img he have bricked his devices with this (when he use magisk patched Boot.img the op11 will no longer Boot to system)
Only kernelSU works with boot.img for booting in the system (temp root) and after this you go to magisk and flash magisk to aktive slot (now is init_boot patched)
@LilBigTone
1. Before doing anything, you should know ALL details of your phone first. This includes both hardware info and software info.
2. You shouldn't flash random files you find on the internet, especially if it isn't a test device.
I'm not the OP but am looking to use the MSM tool to fix my OnePlus 11.

Have you tried holding power + volume up (or down, idk remember) while the device is starting to get into the bootloader?

Can you get into recovery which then you could have it boot to bootloader?
I thought I was buying an unlocked global version but goy the t-mobile version. Are there any options for unlocking the boot loader without an unlock.bin?
Additionally, once the bootloader is unlocked (if I wait for the .bin from OnePlus) what additional considerations are there for flashing firmware and rooting the device? I have been trying to sort through the forum with minimal luck.
It lools like MSM will not work without unlock.bin on A12 and later, is that correct?
If i unlock with unlock.bin can I use the OTA firmware from OnePlus site to flash and root, or do I need TMO specific firmware and where would that be located.
Any links to applicable guides would be greatly appreciated.

You are going to be ok. I have the OP9P with stock A13 with unlocked BL, rooted with magisk . Unfortunately I am leaving on vacation and will be limited when I can guide you along but be patient.
I just delt with this last week, and was able to convert to global and OEM unlock without having to use an unlock code from OnePlus or from tmo.
What you need to do is convert your model from LE2127 TO LE2125.
1. Download MSM for tmo OP9Pro, this will be handy if you mess anything up
2. I don't have a link but if you search TMO to EU MSM OnePlus 9 pro you should be able to find the right tool. You just run the MSM like you always would.
3. Now you can OEM unlock your phone by running the command `adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.qualcomm.qti.uim`
4. Your phone is now no longer TMO but will not work with a US sim card, so you need to convert it to global. You can just download the OTA from OnePlus official website and go to software update in settings and press 3 dots and press local update or something like that.
4. After installing global software, upgrade to newest software version via OTA updates
5. Once complete, reset phone through settings.
6. ???

If you need any help with any particular step let me know
I have the TMO to GLO MSM Tool and will give link tomorrow! I will be on the road for about 10 hours tomorrow, that is why it will take a bit to get the link posted to download the MSM Tool.
Give me a little bit and you will have the link. Don't want to keep you waiting.... Fastboot OEM unlock once converted. Enable developer options, USB debugging and OEM unlock....
Also if you want to get back to stock after unlocking bootloader, let me know....I have the answer for that too!
If you stay with Global, you might need to flash TMO modem if your carrier is TMO.
Here you go... TMO 2 GLO MSM Tool....
3.52 GB file on MEGA

So while I was waiting I got impatient and started playing around with different MSM packages. The problem I now have is that after flashing to either TMO or Global I can no longer toggle OEM unlocking.
The phone was network/sim unlocked before I started and now, even if I get onto an A11 non-TMO ROM I cannot enable the setting.
Edit: After reapplying TMO ROM and going online it has re-enabled. Will try the suggested path now.
Use the link I uploaded to go from TMO 2 GLO, if first try does not work, uncheck the "SHA" and check the "USE LITEFIREHOSE" boxes.
Be sure to read all that I have posted. Patience is the virtue to success...
I will get you where you want to be, but you must be patient!

I used the TMO-2-GLO package you shared and was able to get everything unlocked. My goal is to have rooted A13 with Magisk. I now need to see what all of the files I need to patch are.

To root you have to use a a version of TWRP A12 to sideload a A13 TWRP then install magisk from TWRP..... Use magisk v26.1
Will upload TWRP link for A13 shortly

I do apologize, this is my first foray into all of this. I do not know how to do any of that. LOL.
I have that file now, but have no experience with TWRP. Any guide or info you can point me to? Do I need to upgrade to A12?
