Fed up with all the negative posts. I saw the ASUS Transformer forums do the same in the early days of release.
1) I think my Nexus is great - I used to have a Desire. Now I have a phone that I think is MUCH better.
2) Im very happy for anyone who feels their phone is better but will have much more respect for those who compare based on hands on experience. However why KEEP posting on a Nexus forum why you think your phone is better ? Post how great your phone is on its own forum.
3) Im fully aware that there are some bugs. Most of these will be fixed by software updates. Its part of the 'fun' of being an early adopter.
4) Threads about hardware problems are fine and very useful. I havent experienced any myself (yet) and hopefully Samsung will fix/recall/exchange.
5) I know the camera is limited and 'only' 5mp. thats fine. i use my phone for point and shoot. Im old enough to remember the first digital cameras. This camera does me fine.
Regards,
Happy Nexus Owner
(are there any others out there ?)
p.s. I love my Transformer too.
I don't have one yet, but I'm planning on picking one up soon. New devices always bring out the loud-mouth whiners who apparently spend 8+ hours on the board complaining every day. I've got a job...
Anyway, the device looks great. I'm really excited. It will be my first Nexus device (although my wife did have the Nexus S, and I run CM7 on my EVO 4G). It will also be my first GSM device - I'm in the US and switching from Sprint to AT&T. I plan on picking up a European unlocked unit. Sprint's network has gotten really terrible lately. Can't wait for the new toy!

Where are you ordering yours from? I'm also on AT&T and looking to buy an unlocked gsm version from the UK. I've found: https://negrielectronics.com/samsung-i9250-google-galaxy-nexus-black-unlocked.html and http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.ph...xus-16gb--sim-free-unlocked--titanium-silver-
Handtec appears to be cheaper (after converting), but they aren't including the VAT charge in the price... so it may end up being more expensive.
other than the volume / 900MHz interference issue, I am really happy with this phone. It's just a shame that this issue is tainting the experience for me.
I love the screen, it's easily the best screen I've had on a mobile phone, Android 4.0 is great, along with all the updated Google Apps.
Google+ still cannot do notifications properly though...Google need to sort that one out!
But I am happy with the phone (albeit for the 900MHz problem)

VAT doesn't apply if you are shipping to the US. Ordered mine from there for AT&T and it was about $700 or so after shipping

You don't pay VAT when you import to the US. Negri is just seriously more expensive for some reason (most of their devices are more expensive).
Clove and Handtec both have phones (and all indications are they're reputable). I believe Handtec is holding shipments because they're aware of the volume bug. Check out the specific threads for the Clove and Handtec orders. Lots of info in there.
just posted a thread on the accessories about a great cheap case/cover ... order it in advance to keep your new purchase shiny
Next thing I like about my Nexus .... speed to pick up GPS !!! Ive even had some degree of luck sat in my office where it must be getting some info through a distant window

Good to know on the VAT charge... I guess I'll be ordering from Handtec, or possibly Clove.
One thing I am loving is in the developers section you can change the animation speeds. Gives a great different feel to the phone.

Believe it or not they're helpful. Yes, some lack detail and could be considered petty, repetitive or both, but I'm a big boy and can sift through banal chatter to glean some good comparitive information. And while everyone knows what the specs are in advance, actual comments on real-world performance are helpful. For example, I could give two craps about 5 vs. 8 megapixels in the camera but I do want to know how well it takes pictures and videos. And to say "you knew it was 5 megapixels before you bought it" every time someone posts their camera experience is a stupid and biased comment. If the forum were limited to nothing but happy posts it would simply be a club for fanboys.

erm.... i think you missed my point.....
I have no problem with negative posts. But .... if you were coming onto this forum to investigate a phone you would read:
1) Posts about hardware problems (useful)
2) Problems about software faults (useful - but ICS not Nexus)
3) People stating why they think their phone is better (inevitable)
You dont tend to find many posts praising the phone which i dont think provides a fair comparison. You dont get many people starting threads saying 'i have no issues'.
Im quite able to sift through what i do and dont want to read.
This thread was just to state that there are a lot of people (hopefully) who are pleased with their purchase and to state some of the good things about the phone.
Maybe some people investigating the Nexus will be able to see that its not all doom and gloom .... its a great phone
We are living in exciting times, the things these handsets can do we could only dream about just a few years ago. Bug or no bug I just love this device. Great performance, great display, just Android on another level. I trust Samsung will sort these issues out overtime, be it with new software or replacement hardware. In the meantime I'll enjoy my Galaxy Nexus.

Compared with the analogue Nokia i had 18 years ago things have moved on significantly
So today I just managed to buy in a flash sale the ZeaPlus M7 which has, quote from a tech site:
powerful MT6752 octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM. There will be a fingerprint sensor on board, along with a massive 5.5-inch full HD panel. For camera, there will be a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. Finally, it will feature a large 3800mAh removable battery

For $150 in their first flash sale, plus $30 for fast tracked courier (DHL). Apparently they say from Euro warehoiuse so it should be fast and tax free for me. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back. The camera is the new Sony 13MP which is apparently running low on stock for newer models due to demand. Also the display is FullHD (1920 x 1080). Unlike the Elephone flash sales for the same spec and price this was fairly easy to buy, just after paypal I had to hunt around for the dispatch method as it gave error (no dispatch method chosen) but the button was there, remember this bit if going for their next flash sale. And I had to log into paypal again.
Anyway since some of the best android devs are here as we all know, I'd like to ask some to buy one in a flash sale for $149 or normal price of $199 and do a custom mod ROM of the high quality often found here for some phones. I.m not asking for a cyanogenmod level job, just a good job as many guys do here often. If you got good reps here, why not ask them for a free sample to send to you? They might do it if thery are smart enough.
Anyway keep an eye out for the next flash sales, much easier than elephone p7000 and same specs and components (might be same mother company owns both) but in fact more stylish and maybe even thinner than the elephone. I found out via these sites, the famous gizchina guy site, probably best for phone news:
http://www.gizchina.com/2015/06/14/zeaplus-m7-offered-at-149-during-limited-sales/
and the new small knockoff site:
http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/14/zeaplus-m7-to-be-available-at-just-149-during-flash-sale/
This was the flash site, was 9p.m. June 18th, so that code is dead, sold out in about an hour. Better than elephone codes which usually do not work as other sellers do not honour them as stage two at a later date, here you can buy from them in one stage and the window was quite long, about an hiour before sold out. Check for future sales, I do not know if they will have more but should hopefully:
http://www.zeaplus.com/m7-flash-sale
Check Beijing time to make sure you are on time if they do more flash sales as I did:
If a dev is already getting this delivered next week, here is the original ROM their forum admin just linked, something to start work on:
http://forum.zeaplus.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=669
Once I get this hopefully next week, I'll give my impressions. Whatever phone you're getting, these days I'd go for a good Octa processor, 3GB RAM (for mucho apps), FullHD (1920x1080), the 13MP Sony cam (another company is also just starting 13MP knockoffs) and a good display and fairly knock proof/bender. I also think 5.5" is minimum now for some websites and also time saving.
I can not give you the phone I bought, I only bought one and can not afford to buy another to give away. If someone is already starting work on this ROM, please let us know here, much apppreciated. Modifying ROMs from similar spec recent phones which already have Modded ROMs might be the fastest route.
Thanks for reading.
They just announced a $30 discount till end of June. Try the link I posted above. Shipping in Europe is also $30 but they say that includes import tax which they take care of. Also returns to support will be to Europe not China. If any dev interested please post & express an interest here and I'll post on their forum to look into your previous ROM(s) and hopefully persuade them to send you a free phone to develop on.
What convinced me was that the phone has two years warranty and is shipped from Europe. It seems to be a rebranded Mijue T500 by the way.
Thinking about buying it, so please someone with the ability to build a ROM came forward
Does this phone have LTE support for US carriers? Specifically T-Mobile?
SomeoNe on their forums posted a nice comparison link between this phone & Mijue T500:
http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/f297332e6
I want to see a full review before buy it but it need to get out till the end of the month (30€ discount on their website).
The Zeaplus M7 is the same phone as the Mijue t500 but rebadged.
Hey all,
I've been through a few phones nexus s, galaxy nexus, nexus 4, nexus 5 and now a moto x play but its starting to show its age. Ideally the pixel is my dream phone but the price tag is a bit too agressive for me. I've been looking at the Le Pro3 and it seems like a no brainer to me in terms of value per dollar. I just wanted to see if anyone could answer a few questions.
1) Will the phone work in Canada? I'm currently on Koodo Mobile (Same network as Telus). I was looking at the bands on Goldway's page for the phone and it seemed a little hard to understand what was going on with the bands... what was written is "B20:800/B5:850/B8:900/B4:1700/B3:1800/B2:1900/B1:2100/B7:2600 MHz TD LTE B38:2600/B39:1900/B40:2300/B41:2555-2655MHz" which I'm mildly confused by.
2) I'd really rather not use the stock EUI, I'm just too familiar with the vanilla android feel. What would you guys consider to be the most stable rom for this phone, preferably cyanogenmod kinda rom?
3) Anything about the phone you don't like or would like to change? Is there anything I should know before jumping on it?
Thanks!
I am loving this phone. Only thing I am missing for now is nougat but i believe it will be there later.

Get a nice case that covers the front edge of the screen, the included does but the camera bump is exposed a little
mine after month and a half is not working, burn charger and no help from customer service. I really recommend think twice about get this phone. money is not on the trees so if something goes wrong you are alone..
I'd say go for it

There is official Lineage OS Support for the device:

IMHO best value for money at the moment, only the camera isn't very good. It's good enough for me, i only use it for snapshots form holidays or childrens birthdays and stuff like that,
but if you need a "good" camera this is probably not your next phone.

This is the exact reason I don't fast charge my phones. Anytime a phone has a sealed battery it goes on an anker smart charger. I have never had problems with a charger or battery when used on an Anker.
I highly recommend one. My girlfriend uses one for her Pro 3 and charges every night and we purchased it on release day and battery is just as good if not betted than then.
I agree with rootuser, if you are willing to accept pictures at about average quality and to spend 2 hours on installing TWRP and, my recommendation after 4 custom roms, yesterday's new Lineage build, there is no better phone out there for the money.
Get off the fence bro.
Im in canada and interested in this phone for SO. I have an Axon 7 and if it would go on sale again, I would buy that. So -
Has anyone had warranty work done on this phone, and how was it?
Where's a good place to buy in Canada that will retain warranty?
If I ended up buying at bestbuy in the US, can I retain warranty in canada?
Guys, why thinking about buying blabla?!
This is a great phone with a great price, and finally the Roms are getting great... The devs jumping on the train and this phone gets even better day by day....
What are you searching for? Support? Service stores? Go get urself an Apple or Samsung and pay 800 bugs.
Power, community... Direct contact and support of devs...?? - this is your phone! Never mind behind which border you are located....

Yes, I actually just bought myself another one this morning! I think of them as a steal when it comes to the pricing compared to the specs. I have a good feeling they'll support 8.0 since they managed 2 7.0 updates within the year
With your budget you can almost buy two. Colors are limited unless you want Mint, but new ones are going for as low as 109.99 on a certain auction site. From trusted (certified) sellers.
I was "lucky" my three year old decided my Honor 5x needed a bath a couple of months ago when I stupidly left it on a chair. I snagged an emergency replacement NIB Electric Blue Robin for 99.00 by using a rebate code.

A seller on eBay, they were running a sale at 114.00 and I had a 25.00 off 100.00 or more coupon code. This was a couple months ago and if the same seller has any left they're all the Mint color.
I try not to advertise specific sites, but I am not selling any phones at this time and I am in no way related to anyone selling the Nextbit Robin.

Guessing I purchased mine on the same deal - it went for $115 (USD) with a %15 coupon, total of $100.
I looked on slickdeals.net, found that deal post from 2017-06-26 (expired). Seller was BuySPRY:
* https://slickdeals.net/f/10291048-n...ed-android-smartphone-99-99-fs?src=SiteSearch
Seems the same seller has posted three more sales since then, one appears to be going on now.

Note, I'm not promoting or advocating the seller or sales platform, rather I'm mainly hoping only to report on deal postings. Since I bought my phone, I haven't seen any other deals from other sellers via slickdeals. I would share those too if I found any.
My quick take on buying this phone - true there is no longer warranty service for it if you need to make a new claim. But given that I've bought used phones for more money, with no warranty, makes this phone a good deal for the asking price. This phone is new and has the bonus of continued OS/Software updates through February 2018, even if we don't know how much more development we actually see. The other very positive note, especially for me, is the active XDA development. It's a nice upgrade from my Nexus 4.
Hope that helps.
Ember is incredibly hard to find, I have tried
wouldn't recommend it :/
The phone itself is brilliant when you first get it, but like all phones, deteriorates over time --- but a bit worse than most. The Nextbit system is built based on the Android OS, but an edited version, so originally, as each renewed version of the android OS was released, an update to the Nextbit OS would also be released. However, Nextbit has now been bought out by Razer, and as I understand Razer has since shut down everything related to the Robin. This means that the Android OS continues to be updated, but the Robin's modified OS is not --- & I think this is probably the root of many of my problems with the phone as of now. It's slow, the screen registers touches where there aren't any, the archiving system works too well and deletes apps in the middle of use, and images don't stay on the phone for longer than about three seconds ( and these are by far not the only problems :crying: ). In my opinion, buying the phone now would only cause you grief, since any further updates to the android OS will only further cause issues with the operation of the phone. It's pretty, and alright for the money, but you could get waaaaaaay more functional phones :victory:
Personally, I still think it's a good buy. Snappy phone with a good screen, nice front-facing speakers and 32 GB onboard storage. Although official updates are only through Feb 2018 (which is probably better than a lot of major brands offer for a phone at this price point), there is an active community with good rom support so it will live well beyond.
I picked mine up a few months ago at $140...Running resurrection remix and it's super smooth and fast...no regrets.
The robin is definitely worth buying in 2015, other phones with comparable specs are the moto g4 plus and g5, nexus 5x, and etc, but they all go for at least 100 or even 150 more than this phone. Plus this phones dev support is great, and i wouldnt be surprised if we got custom roms for android 8 a few months after the official release, i got my robin from buyspry on ebayr for 109, great deal for the money. Plus i had a 100 gift card so i really got this phone for 10 bucks, a killer value. That being said the nextbit skin on top of android 100% sucks, and i dont buy into their cloud integration with storage at all. However, its easy to get around all of that with the custom roms, imo they have better performance and give better screen on time. with stock i got about 3 hours, with aicp (my new daily driver) i can put whatever customization on andorid (i have customized it too look exactly like the pixel) i want and still get great performance (4 hours of screen on time)

I get better mileage than that but yes, you got a great deal and the phone is definitely worth it. Worse case scenario, they get rid of the 100gb cloud integration, other than that, it performs well and of course, you cannot go wrong with a 6 core phone. The first thing that I did was root, recovery and rom. The 3 "R's" I don't use the cloud, I use titanium backup for all of its settings that the cloud doesn't offer. AOKP for me has been one of the most rock solid ROMs and has all of the settings that you'd expect plus some. Performance, lag free and smooth gaming. The Robin Stock rom rooted is amazing as well but its just a little heavier then custom and of course, that's because it's the rom with Gapps pre-installed.

Hey all,
I bought this phone thinking it was going to be a sea of development given the "gamer" friendly tags that were constantly thrown about, but development is almost literally non-existent and as such, this is really not the device for me. I would almost happily switch back to my OnePlus 3 at this point, just so I could play around with it, try out different ROMs and enjoy the variety you get from a phone with great support. Right now, I am pretty much bored with the phone. And with such a bad camera on such a premium device, I'm actually a bit annoyed at it's price point too..
Now, I've got a few minor scrapes on the edges from a drop here or there, but the hardware is perfectly functioning. What do you think I should put it up for?
(I'm in UK)
Development should take off once Oreo is released due to treble support (check the treble thread for proof of lineage booting)
However ATM with nougat there's nothing. Tbh this A/B partitioning thing is what causes all these development issues it's why I hate it.

I'm going to dump this for something older. Maybe sell this for ~£400.
Should give me enough to get a OnePlus 5T or HTC U11 or Xiaomi MI6.

You might not get £400 for it. I paid £400 for a brand new unsealed one a month or so ago so yours being used will knock a bit off.
Saying that if you can I'd sell it now and hold off on OP6 if you can and if you can't afford the OP6 the 5T should drop a bit online that's if you can wait a bit.
If you can't out of all of those id get the 5T (and then flash lineage OS) I don't trust OP software anymore.

Even if I do, it's never as bad as people make out. Like £20 max.
Bought a Mi5 before from a similar company and it was minimal.

I got hit with £90 for importing the essential phone so it can be more than you think.
If you want to sell, I'd recommend CEX they offer a decent price for it.
But the person above is correct, you can easily get them around £350 - £400 brand new or brand new condition.
Otherwise try your luck on gumtree, but be safe out there. I've been burned in the past using them.

Give it a little time till the official android 8.1 update comes out
The main reason to why the community has been dry is because project treble has not yet been officially released and since the 8.1 preview, things are looking good.
Be patient a little and we will see.
I can't give it any more time. I'm literally having more fun right now messing around with my old Xiaomi Mi 5!
New phone on it's way and happy to sell this for £300/£350.

Thats up to you bro. Thats what i would do because you can go back to oneplus anyways. I would wait.
It's a shame as this best phone out, but reading all the issues about hardware fails and bad camera, no wireless charging, no ROMs, etc etc. I'm sticking with my Moto z (and that has similar lack of support!). And believe me I really wanted to ditch and get a Razer, but I just couldn't justify it!
/offtopic tl;dr etc.
??
I was also head over when this phone was announced and released. Am glad I took my time because the lack of development support would have driven me nuts!. Price wise these are definitely falling. There was an offer recently if I remember correctly when mobiles.co were selling the phone on a £30 a month contract with 30gb of data a month! That was cheap but perhaps a reflection of the falling demand and prices.
I just bought a used one! It'll be here probably Wednesday or Thursday.
Think I will be selling mine in a week or so, I can't handle not having even one ROM to play with, can't believe the lack of development I thought this would have had developers all over this to test and enhance this powerful and exciting device. Its a sad day for all razer phone owners. P. S I do respect developers and time and effort they put into creating the roms and mods respect to all
Food for Thought perhaps...
my previous five phones have been Sony I've loved them, my last Sony the xz1 performed abysmally such that I jumped ship for the Razor with its enhanced screen capabilities and superior RAM architecture.
So I just recently purchased the Sony xz2 for my girlfriend which has the 845 processor I believe.
In a nutshell having used the Razor and then playing with this new xz2 I was shocked at how backward that xz2 felt compared to the blistering fast experience that I'm experiencing on our razor.
The xz2 felt sluggish in direct comparison.
Therefore leaving me with a very sweet taste in hanging on to the Razer.
The 835 cpu, 8gb DDR4 RAM with the 120Hz screen.
Honestly no phone out there today reacts and loads quicker then the Razer.
But I hear and do appreciate there are some compromises with the Razer.
But the good far outweigh the bad in my circumstance.

The problem is.... I LOVE the ROM flashing scene. I love tinkering with the OS and getting a feel for different ROMs and their features. Completely baron in here unfortunately and it is for that reason almost entirely that I gave up.
I get bored with phones too quick. Flashing new ROMs always breathes little doses of fresh air back in to them and keeps you interested. Depending on who you are of course.
