Sony TV (KDL-49W800F) - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

How can I get the Hulu movie app installed on my Sony TV since I can't download it directly from Google Play due to region-restriction? Someone tells me to download the APK file instead, but I've no idea how to install Hulu APK file?

[Q] sideload paid apps?

Forgive me for the newbie question. I'd like to sideload a couple of paid Google apps that aren't available for Fire TV. I searched through the forum, but couldn't find an answer. Is it possible to do this?
When I try, I get INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES
Yes it can be done but you will have to get your hands on the APK for it to work. This is because Google Play Store does not exist for the FTV. So to get around this:
1. Get on a PC and log into your Google Play Store.
2. Find the app you want to load onto the FTV.
3. Copy the URL of the webpage of the app you want the APK for.
4. Now go to: http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ and plug that URL in.
5. Download the APK to your PC.
Now it is just a matter of pushing the APK to the FTV to install the app. That's about it. Remember, just because you can get your hands on an Android app and install it on the FTV does not mean it will work 100%. All you can really do is install it and see if it works or not.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Phone or Tablet to download APKs from Google. Does it matter?

I have a Android (4.4.1) phone that I use to download APKs from Google and then sideload to Fire TV. Will the fact that I am using a phone to download the APK result in getting only a phone version of the software? Or does the APK bundle versions for all screens?

[Request] BBC iPlayer APK 1.3.1 (Amazon Fire TV)

Hi,
I have searched the forum but was unable to find this. I am having some issues with the BBC iPlayer app, my device seems to think it is installed even though I manually uninstalled it. I now want to reinstall it but am getting some errors. The BBC icon remains and when I click on it, I get an 'Cannot Open App' error. I tried to push the app from the Amazon appstore to override this, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work.
My final solution is to manually sideload the APK. Unfortunately I have been unable to find the APK anywhere online. I was wondering if someone could please extract the APK from their FireTV and send it to me? Would really appreciate it!
The version I am after is 1.3.1 and it can be found here:
