I have been experiencing some issues with sound in some games, like the sound is lagging and inside a metal box. Has anyone faced this?
Is there a solution?

You might as well get a warranty exchange if you're hearing metal rattling inside. I've NEVER had that issue.

It's not an hardware problem, it's software like a lag in the game but just on sound, the metal is like a robotic sound not a click sound like a damaged speaker

Hey all anyone have an idea why the Note 2 has a nice big speaker but hide it behind plastic with only two small slits to let the audio out? Seems a little bit of an odd design decision.
Issue I'm having is vibration through the backcover when volume is at 70% anyone else noticed it? Not a deal break on an otherwise outstanding phone. Just a curious design decision.
I keep the vibration off so no ai havent noticed anything like that yet. But I do like how nice and loud the speaker is.

I think the OP meant that there is noticeable sound vibration through the cover at higher volumes. But yeah...It makes me wonder why Samsung decided to just have two small opening splits for the speaker. They should have just kept it open like the S3.
It still works better then the old note. Dont go as mute if you cover it with your palm. Seems they let it leak out from more places then just that 2 small slits. I can also get small vibrations but speakers usually do vibrate so i dont find it odd.
My One X has developed a really quiet/sometimes distorted speaker. Any help?

are you facing this problem only while you play music or also video? maybe you got a corrupted .mp3 file but i don't think it is caused by that
It's normal, one x has quiet speaker, when i listen to, say, hard electro, or anything else that has stronger kick bass, everything else gets distorted when kick hits, but for low bass stuff the speaker is good.

I had the same problem to the point I couldn't hear it ringing, so I got a soft toothbrush dampened it slightly and brushed the speaker it drastically improved the sound, I have to do it frequently

I don't know what kind of speaker that HTC have put in hox but it definitely sound cheap..
In my particular case, the camera is the culprit. It seems that the black piece inside the metal square chassis rattles when you tap it. When the vibration motor is active, it rattles the camera inside. Just sharing since it seems this issue has popped up a couple times.
Only solution I can think is to take out the black camera piece from the chassis and maybe stuff it a little tighter or order a new replacement, but the camera could be made that way. I'll take it apart again later today to see if there is some space for small paper or something to keep it still.
I've been getting this rattle for awhile now and was wondering what it was. Between the touch screen and bootloop, this is the third strike.
I also have a sound from the sound vibration motor, but its not so much a rattle sound, more of a beeping/squealing sound. Is this normal? Its not very loud but it annoys me when typing in a quiet room. Remember I had the exact same sound on my last LG phone so maybe its an engineering thing or the brand of vibration motor.

I noticed this on the forums too. I listened for this but couldn't find it. If I put my ear really close to the motor I heard a small whine, but it seemed like it was something else rather than the motor because it was constant. I will say the rattle could sound higher pitched to others depending on movement. My sound is a small rattle but I could see how maybe it could vary to a squeaking or squealing noise to some.

The camera has Optical Image Stabilization. Packing the gaps will stop this working. The rattling is just the camera moving around.

Did you listen to the sound in my video? You have that to? Its mostly when using haptic feedback on home and back buttons and the third button down at the bottom
Does anyone else notice that behind the top half of the phone the speakers vibrate? Would like to know if this is only my phone or if it's standard across every other Z5P. Kinda annoying vibration with mid+ volume.

Mine does this too. The bottom speaker sounds tinnier than the top one. That's probably why the top one vibrates.

Same for me on Z5P e6853, although some of my a/v files do seem to be a bit loud/overdriven.
Could it be something in codecs, maybe some adjustments can be made in one of the media_ .xml files ?
I'm spitballing that idea becuase other media files seem to play well and carry quite nicely.

Could be, it's hard to say. As it looks right now, it seems like the bottom speaker is generally weaker than the top one.

I finally realized why the top speaker vibrates more than the bottom. If you tap the phone lightly on the back at the top and bottom you'll hear that the top feels more empty than the bottom.
The top speaker must have a bigger area for itself without being densely packed with other components, which makes the back panel directly affected by the speaker.
The bottom speaker is fitted in a place with more components (or something else), which gives the speaker direct contact with other surfaces than the back panel, that transfers the vibrations more evenly.
A reason why the bottom speaker is distorting at lower frequencies could be because the vibrations travels through other components that is more prone to give those nasty distortions.

Does anybody else notice when watching videos, particularly, with people talking, that the bottom speaker rattles and distorts at higher volumes >50%?
I filed a RMA replacement for this very reason. My new device is shipped out today.

Do you think they'll do some kind of update like lower the overall volume to mask this? I've looked on reddit and a lot of other people are having the same issue.
I decided after posting here that it was bad enough that I would roll the dice on an RMA replacement as well. Anything above around 50% just sounds like crap and the entire glass surface kinda buzzes in your hand. I don't see that being fixed in software...

Let me know how your RMA device ends up. I was thinking that this could be due to the fact that the bottom speaker is louder than the top and that making them even would alleviate the problem?
Exact same issue. Also hope to hear how goes from those that RMA. I too notice it most with voices like the Google Assistant vs wider soudscape in music or video.
My speakers have very minor distortion on the highest volume, but any lower and there's none. Honestly the highest volume is much too loud for me anyway. These are the loudest speakers I've ever heard on a phone. They're just about as loud as my laptop.
No point in doing a RMA for this "issue" the volume is too high for the speakers. That or it's unbalanced, It's especially prevalent when you're making a call via speaker phone and ALL the volume is going through the bottom speaker. Both my friends units have it, I've been to three different Verizon stores and they all have it and same with the Best Buy units. Google will most likely lower the overall volume or correct the balance in a software update.

I had the same complaint. RMA unit (that was brand new) also had the rattling. Annoying. Every tech I chat with has not heard of this problem but it is covered in the Pixel product forums and here. I'm RMA'ing this one as well for the hellofit .. and because I just love re-setting up the phone and my watch... etc.

Honestly you're probably just wasting your time and frustrating yourself. Out of all the units I've seen around 8~ both pure black and panda they all had the rattle especially on speakerphone calls because all the volume is coming only from the bottom. It's probably just cheap ass LG speakers that cannot handle the volume that Google has set. I'm assuming they will push a software update to make speakerphone calls on both speakers and lower the overall volume.
Actually, the rattling on my devices was out of the top speaker... One of the speakers was tuned louder than the other. Can't remember which one.
I got a rma. Same problem.
This speaker issue is probably the final issue that will make me return this phone. The rattle is really annoying. The other big issue is color accuracy. Natural and Boosted are not sRGB and too muted. Saturated mode is like cartoon land and browns appear as orange.
These issues would be far less magnified if this phone costed $200 less. But at this price, it's just not worth it for me. Feels like too many compromises.
Yeah noticed the rattle too on the bottom speaker. It's very noticeable at the 75% or above. I don't remember my original device having this so I'm not sure if it was just quieter as this one does seem noticeably loud.
I spoke with Google about this issue today and they stated the upcoming November update should fix it. I HIGHLY doubt it's a software issue, but I figured I would give it a chance. I still expect to have to RMA this thing after receiving the update.

This is a hardware fault in my opinion if you so lightly touch the speaker mesh it moves around, and it doesn't seem very firm to me. Not to mention the dust issue, I had my phone for a day or so and already I can see the dust build up around the speaker mesh (I'm very clean I don't just put my phone in any place). Too much room around the speaker mesh is probably an issue for long-term
I have this issue with my pixel 2 xl. I rma'd it and got another brand new replacement. The replacement device has the same issue.
The Nexus 6p had the same issue when it was released, Google then pushed an update and or was all fixed. Getting in this RMA vicious is not going to solve it.

I have this also but I thought somebody on YouTube said that Google turned the top speaker down for this reason but maybe they didn't turn it down enough.
