I have the option to choose between the snapdragon or exynos version. The snapdragon may bring better perfomance and battery but the exynos version can be root. Which one do you guys think I should get?
If you ask, wou will get a mixed bag of answers, it would be a better idea to read as much as you can in the questions and aswers and real life review sections, then you can formulate your own opinion, my honest answer is, get a device intended for your country that also has a full warranty provided, that is what I would consider above anything else
Snapdragon duos is the real answer. Unlocked and Snapdragon optimized
you asked and answered. If you're Looking for better Performance go for the SD, if you're Looking for the ability to Flash new roms go for the Exynos. I've Always had the exynos Version of the note devices I owned and was Always satisfied with their Performance. I didn't compare them with the SD versions but online Videos Show clearly who's the boss in Terms of Performance.
I have both: Note 10 exynos & Note 10 Snapdragon.
I have used both. I prefer the snapdragon as it is faster than the exynos.
As far as custom roms, once you install twrp and get it rooted, it is no different than exynos.
With one exception: If you use WETA_Rom_4.0 by By Mentalmuso for snapdragon, then you do not need to use keypresses to activate root on power up or reboot. Just turn on your phone, let it boot and you have root.

Same with nemesis kernel for exynos, no button combo needed.
The Exynos has better single core performance than the SD variant. If you want to unlock your bootloader and flash custom ROMs - Exynos. If you want better performance - SD. Whichever one you get, you're going to be getting top tier performance regardless of the SoC.

If you play games like I do, get the snapdragon variant. I am having fps drops on my exynos version.
Yes,exynos is pathetic in terms of gaming. Just after 10 mins of Pes 2020 on high graphics it stutters heavily.
I also have them both. SD has far better standby optimization meaning better battery life and better cellular/WiFi module.

So would the ultimate to get is the 9750 snap dragon phone on Verizon network and you can also root it. Only thing you can't have is 5G correct? Or is there any other way to get a snap dragon phone and root and 5G on Verizon network?

I don't think/know if its compatible at all with Verizon much less Verizon 5g but there is a hong kong Snapdragon with 5g, and possibly dual sim also.....i think its only available in 512gb and i think they're almost impossible to find listed for purchase.
However without going for a 5g phone once again I'm not sure how compatible (band wise) with Verizon the 9750 would be for you....tmobile doesn't block services from exterior carrier phones (awesome) i get the feeling Verizon does.
That would apply to wifi calling, video calling etc...

If you're on Verizon you're kind of screwed if you want root as Verizon locks down what phones you can use. This is why I left Verizon about twelve years ago and I'll never go back. If you really want root I would switch carriers to T-Mobile or AT&T.

As far as my understanding goes, all S models are Exynos for now.
Pro line is Snapdragon.
I think only certain US Carriers use the Snapdragon chip Tab S LTE.
this chipset exynos 5420 is 3g in general no 4g lte .this is new 5420 with lte included or lte has dedicated chipset ?
becuase my note 3 n900 exynos 5420 support only 3g freq. but 5420 in this tablet support 4g let
if use another chipset just for lte power consumption is too much more than 3g
as i know, the tab S model use intel chip to support 4g
I have not (yet) read on any Samsung site of any Tab S using Snapdragon. To avoid any future confusion, I suggest to forget the other sites, and go straight to the source themselves (Samsung) .....

The mods know about the Snapdragon issue. Because Snapdragon is offered in some limited markets they say it should remain. I don't agree as the vast majority of these devices are Exynos. It is misleading but they won't change it.

I could only suggest that they need to " amend " the description, not " omit ". Just add Exynos to it, that's all. Or go the " hard " way and have separate forums same as other devices .... End of confusion

Samsung.com doesn't list any Qualcomm specs for the T700/T705/T800, says they're all Exynos™ 5 Octa (1.9Ghz Quadcore + 1.3 Ghz Quadcore).
The only possible Tab S with a Snapdragon is the T805.
Does anybody on this forum have a Snapdragon Tab S?

Yes, please keep us informed.
I picked up the WIFI version a few days ago after seeing it posted here that BB was discounting the 32GB. I am not noticing any significant lags other than within certain apps that I have also noticed it my Note 8. I would be torn over which to choose, the Snapdragon/Sprint or the 32GB version.
Incidentally, if you chose the the monthly option @ $27 (total $650) , did it also include the cellular plan for 2 years or was that additional? (Update:Never mind, found the answer on the Sprint website)
My Tab S from sprint will be here shortly. I will post back about its performance. I am trying to find out if there is a root method that works for this model.

So far, even with the crap-bloatware Samsung/Sprint like to pile on, and the memory-monster-TouchWiz; this tablet is performing quite well. The Snapdragon definitely makes up for all of the aforementioned annoyances. Certainly more responsive and 'snappy' than the Exynos variant that I've messed around with. I can't wait to see how fast this is going to be running once we have root and custom kernels.
I do find it odd that they went back to the old USB 2.0 port vs the duel 3.0 port though; I get great charge times with my Note 3 using that.
I'm thinking about buying the Dubai, dual sim version of this phone. Does it have FM radio in it? My research suggests that it does not. However, I know many phones have it but it's not enabled. I'm hoping that might be the case with this phone..

Only snapdragon versions have proven to feature fm radio. Exynos 8890 versions on Note 7 does not have them. Samsung did not build an FM radio onto the chip.
Therefore right now only US and Canada phones are able to use FM radio IF their carriers allow.

Too soon to tell but likely yes.
Keep in mind however that those models are pretty much unpopular (no idea why) and rarely see any type of development. So you have an unlocked BL but nothing to flash which sucks.

All the US and CAN snapdragons will be locked down tight and a waste of money if you want proper root, twrp erc. its so easy to buy exynos why bother with the snapdragon version unless your on cdma?

Exynos doesn't have the exclusive US LTE Bands. For the S9 I see Bands 14, 30 and 71 are all missing. This is a major problem since the US carriers will be shifting more traffic onto exclusive bands.

Hi all
I just realised that my Samsung UK Note 10+ is not using Snapdragon 855 but the Exynos 9825. I thought the Exynos CPU is only available in Canada and the far east.
I have to say, if I knew that Samsung were selling the Exynos edition on their website I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm afraid to ask if I'm missing anything as I was under the impression that the Exynos are inferior to the Snapdragon CPUs.
Exynos is the European chip.

Snapdragons are mainly gor USA, Canada and Hong Kong, because of some country/carrier regulations, the rest of the world use exynos, which are somewhat "inferior" in some areas, not all, mainly batt usage, as for performance, side by side the difference is really little

I believe it's the other way around in the best case. Battery usage is almost the same (They claim SD to have better standby drain, but I can't tell). While performance is way better on the SD, especially in gaming where the Adrino graphics processor performs much better than the Mali.
What's wrong with the Exynos variants ?
I'm in the UK and my S8+ / Note 9 where both Exynos and there was absolutely no perceivable difference after years of using a SD powered device.
Frankly not getting a device because of the processor difference between SD / Exy is just pure arrogance / stupidity.
Both vairents are Rootable so people can't even argue that anymore.
I agree with you, exynos variants are indeed excellent, SD versions may be slightly better, but not as to despise Exynos ones

Not to me, I typically download large files on my laptop via WiFi then transfer them to my device. I'm a frequent flyer so I watch movies (torrents) which are typically 2GB. Not sure how long that would take to download on my device via T-mobile but it's not significantly faster than WiFi. When mmWave is widely avaliable Carrier Aggregation will be more valuable but right now High-band 5G is comparable to WiFi file transfer speeds. That's a small inconvenience compared to the benefits the device offers.

No, my CSC is TGY. I live in Mexico but use T-mobile since they offer free calls and data in collaboration with Mexico's largest telcom Telcel. Even when I'm in the US I don't have CA. I haven't gone to T-mobile to ask if they can configure CA but I doubt they can on the SM-G9860 or SM-G9880 regardless of the CSC. I use a laptop with Wifi for large downloads so it's not a priority. I do get Wifi Calling and VoLTE even in Mexico, YMMV depending on your service provider. Also I've read BRI has some issues so I'm not inclined to make the switch. This thread may give you further insight.

I was just curious to know if someone had changed their CSC to BRI and if it enabled CA.
I believe the first thing to be gathered is what bands are CA enable on the BRI CSC before even proceeding with anything else.
Also before flashing to attain CA I think one needs to compare tgy and bri CA combos.
Edit. Read that already, mainly non americans discussing attaining 5G on their respective countries.
