I think, we all know that Nokia ROMs are near to stock, but there are some features like, Always On Display, and Turn on battery saver based on routine, battery will last upto time in notification panel, etc.
These are some features we find in PixelExperience Roms.
I request anyone who can make a PE ROM for Nokia 8.1 device, we see Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7.1 and other Nokia phone's have PE ROMS.
Note: OEM Unlock, is now available in Developers Options, earlier it was not accessible.
TY.:good:
It's still not available. Without unique unlock key you can't unlock the bootloader
Haha... wouldn't it be great if the 7.2 roms also run on 8.1 ?
I hope Hikari can help us someday when updates are over (although.. I'm still on octobre 1).

Yea, Same here, OCT 1 Security patch, and surprisingly the NOV ended.
Nokia pushes updates a month after I have heard. So, let's see, we may get NOV update in DEC :silly:

Now here OnePlus gets an CyanogenMod Rom 14 based on Android N officially and you can flash it. In news we came to know that OnePlus would be giving an update at the end of the year to Android N 7.0/7.1 .
OnePlus earlier combined both Hydrogen OS and Oxygen Os and it was an good decision.
The provided Rom by Cyanogen plays very well with the phone but it might some time disappoint you but we did not notice that happening. Man..y users demanded to the faster update to Android N and many are still waiting but now you can download the ROM and use it. Doest it work fine?

I don't understand. Do you have a question? This is the question and answer forum.

Hi,
I'm really considering buying a P2 to replace my good old 1st gen moto g. At 300 € here in France, it seems like a really good value.
The only things that could hold me back now are system updates and alternate ROM support. I've read on Reddit that as the phone is only available in some parts of Asia and Europe, the developers community could not be that big. So two small questions :
I've read that the nougat update has just been made available. Is there a Lenovo commitment for Android O, too ? Are there regular security updates since the phone is out ?
Speaking of alternate ROM, if I understand correctly there's currently a LineageOS 14.1 basis that works well beside fingerprint reader and notification LED ? Do you know if there is a chance that the P2 could become an officially supported device for lineageOS ?
Thanks for your answer and all your contributions.
They barely released Nougat 7.0 and you're asking for Oreo? Even flagships like S8 will eventually get Android 8 in Q1 2018 given that Google will release the new OS version in Q3 2017. No regular security updates, till Nougat the phone was on MM with Oct 2016 security patch. Hell you can buy other phone till you're waiting for O. IMO Lenovo won't update P2 to Oreo, as at that time the new P3 should be already out and they'll focus on it and forget about the P2. No word for adding official support for Lineage OS, but that doesn't matter as the unofficial builds are working just fine.
Lenovo giving android O ?? only in dreams
but we have Good developers, and if you are looking official - then AICP is there, Lineage we dont have any info on it as our bro said in above post
if you have managed to use MotoG this many years you would like P2 very much and use longer, Only satisfactory thing in this P2 is BATTERY , other than that SAMSUNGS are better ;(
hate to praise samsungs in this forum but they are better if you have good money ..

What's the point of rooting this phone other than using lucky patcher o just can't see it.
What are your essential root apps.

First and most important possibility of Ad blocking - which saves your: time bandwidth and money.
There are some other apps which work only with root but this is beyond this discussion.

I need root for many things. On MM for Xposed, Titanium Backup, Kernel Auditor, DualBoot Patcher, Adblock and more. On Nougat the same arguments without Xposed.

Hello Guys.
I know there are a few Oreo based ROMs out there for our device MOTO Z PLAY.
I cannot install all these due to time and data usage restrictions.
If anyone could tell me what could be best option in terms of stability and camera performance, that would be highly appreciated!
Wait for stable Oreo stock. Patience is a virtue.
Oreo official should be coming very soon. I can say i have tried every single oreo custom rom on my phone and eventually i went back to stock N because there was one thing or another which wasnt quite right. E.g with xperience 12 the rom works very well but i could not save photos to sd card and i really need to do this so i had to go back.
I think this is good.
Hello anilkumar121989, I am testing the cosmic addison so far 3 days of testing and an update does not hear bugs, and I am really enjoying the ROM design and in that little time of use it has remained stable.

Device: Motorola Moto Z Play [XT1635-02] w/ unlocked BL
ROM: cosmic os (8.1.0) w/ Magisk
Recovery: unofficial TWRP 3.2.1-0

Just wait for official
All Oreo ROM are still in beta and release candidate state so bugs are to be found here and there. Most have camera saturation bug, unable to save photo to sdcard, and lower volume speaker but if you can live with that I've found that AOSP, Cosmic, and Xperience to be stable enough for daily use.
Also, there are no black theme, night mode, RAW capture, and Camera2API in official Oreo so I much prefer custom ROM plus our Devs are awesome like Alberto and TeamMex to mention a few, you shouldn't worry too much about bugs.
Thanks for the effort, but it is better to wait for the official update.
If you are too eager to get Oreo now... Try the official Oreo soak test... Just amazing... No bug at all... Superb audio and finally I can call using volte on second sim
Camera does not work

Whenever I install a 8.0 or .8.1 ROM, with x64 or x86 gaps. The camera does not work. some things work for third-party camera apps. :crying:
My Moto Z Play reteu is on stock Android 7.0. It has unlocked bootloader and it's rooted.
Let's say Oreo is released. For obvious reasons I can't install any OTA updates. So, will there be a way to install Oreo via bootloader (fastboot)? Even if it's rooted? I'm really noob to this. Thanks in advance.
Hello, am new to pixel device... My previous device was Xiaomi Mi 11 , my device carne with A13 !my question is there any way to downgrade to A12 I want to flash derfest A12 my fav ROM .. thx in advance
Hello, welcome to Pixel land.
First, in order to flash a factory image, you'd have to unlock your bootloader. If you don't know already, click the yellow How To Guide quick filter at the top of the list of threads in this section and you'll find 3-4 threads that tell how. I also have a link in my signature below - you can use the link for the Pixel 7 Pro - the instructions to unlock the bootloader are the same, and the OP of my Pixel 7 Pro thread is much better organized than my one for the Pixel 6 Pro, in my opinion.
After that, the only way you can downgrade (and have everything working, and not brick your phone is to use one of the two Android 12 Developer Support images for Pixel. There's an Android 12.0 build from February and an Android 12.1 build from July. They will never receive updates, however.
You can always manually flash a Pixel 6 Pro stable Factory Image to re-upgrade at a later date, or use the Official Google Android Flash Tool (OEM Unlocking needs to be toggled on - you may not have to manually unlock the bootloader - the "site" will do that on its own) to re-upgrade.
Any of the stable Android 12 builds at that factory image link should not be flashed because the Android 13 bootloader cannot be downgraded to an Android 12 bootloader, and if you flash everything from 12 Stable but the bootloader, it'll appear to work at first, but it truly won't work correctly - it will not be useable.
If you unlock the bootloader, you should also make sure the Android 13 bootloader is flashed to your inactive slot as well, to avoid the possibility of accidentally bricking your new phone.
Thanks for the fast reply sir much appreciated .. I got the idea ... My device stock unlocked and rooted .. now my question is if I flashed the July A12.1 developer ... Can I flash custom ROM based on A12.1 like derpfest etc ... Sorry I mixed up things here little harder than xiaomi

You're welcome. I don't fool around with custom ROMs except on my 6-year-old or more phones, so I can't answer that question. Part of the best things about having Pixels is the software features Google starts off exclusively on the Pixel stock ROMs.
Hi,
is it possible to keep the stock rom and install newest google security patches?
It would be better to keep everything as it is (also user data) and just install security patches.
I love this phone and I don't need a new one. I'm also fine with the stock rom.
The only thing what bothers me is that the last security patch is 5 months ago.
(im familiar with flashing custom roms years ago: cyanogenmod on galaxy s3, lineagueos on s5. But since then I did not get in touch with the custom roms topic)
Thank you!

If you're on A12 try using Oxygen Updater to see if a later update is available.
Otherwise 1+ has ended updates for the 7 series
OnePlus 7 and 7T Series Will No Longer Get Any Software Updates
OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus 7 and the 7T series will no longer get software updates going forward. Have a look at the details.

Yes oneplus ended updates and I don't like custom roms.
So the only option for me would be to buy a new phone just because I want security patches...

Afraid so. Security updates are pretty much over once the manufacturer stops tweaking the patches for a particular line.
Even Google only promises Pixel security updates for 5 years.
