Galaxy watch Active looses battery really fast after taking of the charger. - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I have a weird problem, every time i charge the watch and take it off the charger its starts loosing battery life really fast. It might loose even 10% in just 15 minutes or so. All this time i dont use at all the watch. Sometimes switching AoD on and then off seems to help to stop the drain. i cant pin point the source of this problem...
Anyone else with the same issue?
Thanks in advance.

Make a factory reset on the watch. I had this problem with my gwa2 just two three days after I bought it. Made a reset and tlbattery life is great ever since.

Battery charging after update

Anyone else got this? My battery should be fully charged in the morning with the green light on - but the battery is 91% (or 94% or 99%). Then if I plug the charger it jumps from 91% to 100% in seconds.
Just hope its just waiting few cycles to calibrate or something... :/
Yeah, it seems to sort itself out after a few charges.
same with mine, only just happened after the update
I have something else to share about battery charging after update. I usually charge my phone from my computer's usb port during the night.
However after the update USB charging is much slower than before. It would take about 4 hours to charge from empty, but since the updates it only charges with a rate of 13% every hour so it takes more than 7 hours to fully charge from empty.
Anybody else noticed this?

yeah, ive had these same exact issues. its so annoying. its just not worth charging via PC usb any more
The GTalk issue is out there again, not sure if its the culprit? I have unchecked the 'automatically sign in' and logged out, but it keeps turning on and logging me in by itself. Im sure its one of the reasons for the battery drain. Anyone else with this?
This morning it dropped from 100% to 88% in less than two hours without really doing anything with the phone...
this whole 'stopping charging till 90% once its reached 100%' issue is rediculous. I cant believe that HTC have added this to the update (cos it didnt happen before) for a phone where users rarely get a days usage out of the phone battery anyway! Now you even stand the chance of starting the day with 10% less charge than you should....rediculous!
if its something they want to include then thats fine, but at least give us the option of turning it off
This is from a german forum:
Let the phone empty the battery until it switch off for its own. Switch on again and do a new boot until the phone is switch off again. When switched off charge the battery completely with the original charger.
... and the 90% issue is gone
I have a second battery I never used before. Im going to put it to charge tonight - and let it do few complete full/drained cycles. Hope works ok.
Wonder if everyone else has the persistent GTalk on? I dont want it!! Arghhhhh....
I have the same issue with mine Desire after updating last week, just get the green light for a full charge and after a few minutes I check my battery widget and lol 10 % are gone.Any chances for fixing that issue?I would appreciate if anyone give a helpful advice.thanx in advance.cheers

The same here...
do we have new info about this issue ?
Is this such a huge issue then? I mean, sure you want it to show the correct %. But does it affect the total duration in any way?
The 10% can eventually level out when being used. I wonder if the device is at e.g. 30% it should actually be 40% in this case, or the 30% is actually quite accurate.
The % is an estimate to give a better representation how much there is left rather than just following the voltage drop. But in the end it will most probably be the voltage that makes the device decide whether or not the battery is empty.
Don't be silly, ofcourse this is a huge issue, did u ever seen such a issue on any other device, even devices of 5$ dont have this strange behavior.
Phone from such class to have such a problem, this is annoying.
And rather iPhone4 signal strenth issue i think here problem is software and it will be fixed
Comon, a 'huge issue'?! It's merely some % figure that's not shown correctly.
Oh well, I guess it's a compliment for the Desire then.. if 10% off is a huge issue, the rest can't be so bad!
Devices of $5 are really bad in showing correct percentages really. One part of the % goes fast, other slow and then suddenly fast again (you know, 1 out of 3 blocks left but flat battery in no-time, while the second block lasted hours and hours). Just because a device says it's 100% loaded, it doesn't mean it's actually correct.
That's why I wondered: Does it actually affect battery performance. If it does, then (and only then) you can call it a 'huge issue'. Otherwise I would just call it a minor annoyance. But obviously stuff like this might be personal eh!
But I'm quite convinced as well this is a software problem and can be fixed. I just don't think it will be very high on the HTC priority list
Ok, i agree its minor annoyance, but anyway it's annoying at least to me, you are right, this percentage may be fake, but for me it will be better if they show me real battery load
cheers
ps. i saw in your signature u r 1.15.405.4 - do u have this behavior on it ?
Well, the Desire is gone to be replaced now. But I didn't have this problem with my old Desire. Then that one got replaced (because HTC scratched it), and the new one did have this problem.
But now the Desire is off again because of weird touchscreen problem, so lets see how the new one holds up

[Q] Sudden Battery Drain (even in Airplane Mode)

Hi all,
I'm having problems with my Galaxy Nexus battery life: I am desperate, I have been googling this problem and I haven't found something helpful yet.
So, in the last two weeks it suddenly started draining battery like crazy, with absolutely no use, the battery would last 5 hours..
I have not updated the software recently (4.2.2), and not changed anything relevant.
I have tried everything:
-Resetting the phone
-Disabling Exchange Services
-Removing Email Accounts
-Disabling all google apps: google +, maps, gmail etc.
But still nothing!
It even drains battery in Airplane mode! It drops 10% an hour with absolutely no use and airplane mode on!!
I honestly don''t know what else I could try.. I wanted to update PRL list since I had read that might help, but haven't found a way to do so yet..
Any suggestion/help, please??
Thanks,
Marco
EDIT: It also overheats while charging with very modest use(whatsapp), to the point it stops charging!!
The bottom line, the Galaxy Nexus battery isnt all that great. Something we have to live with. I pretty much have always gotten 10% an hour on my phone. But if you think about it, its still 10 hours of use. I have just lived with it.
If you must do something, either get a new battery or use apps like "Greenify" which will help out a little but there is only so much you can do.
I know it's not great, but this is crazy! It's 10% an hour in Airplane mode with absolutely no use!! If I use I'll get to 0 in a couple of hours.. and by using it I mean surfing the web and texting for 10 mins :/
I'm not complaining about the battery life, the phone is 8 month old, I'm saying something is wrong now because it worsened overnight!

Re-Install your OS then. Look for the thread on returning to stock. If that doesnt do it, I dont know what will.
Buying a ZeroLemon 5900 mah battery fixed my problem. 6 hours on screen time on average. Only problem is it makes the phone so damn bulky and huge. I have your same issue with the 1850 mah battery so I just solved it with ZeroLemon. Like the previous user said, there's only so much you can do to improve battery life on this phone.
I don't want to 'improve' battery life, I just want the stupid battery life I used to have before
Something has gone wrong and must have caused something, because it even overheats now!
Isn't reinstalling the OS the same thing as resetting to factory? Already tried that

Battery Sudden Drops

Dear all,
Recently my Note is facing a weird problem. While my son is playing a game, the battery drops 20-30% in 10 minutes. If I shut down the tablet and re-power then the battery goes to normal again.
In the battery stats I can see a huge drop during game usage and then up again on reboot.
I performed a factory reset but the same happens....
I flashed the Kit Kat via Odin.... but the same
Any ideas?
Drain the battery down to below 5% then charge it to 100 and it should be fine. It happened to me once and after a full charge after a full drain it never did it again

This is what worries me.
I drained the battery and charged it fully powered off. It did it again. I drained the battery and charged it fully powered on. It did it again.
If I'm using it for browsing, papyrus, images etc its fine. This happens only in games and when i reboot the battery percentage is ok again.
strange....

I had the exact same problem as you are describing but additionally, my overall battery life wasn't lasting as long as it should either. I ended up sending it to Samsung's repair center to get fixed. I'm not sure what they did but some other people on the forums suggested it was a motherboard issue.
So the capacity of the battery seemed just fine but the readings were crazy (dropping from 50 to 5 in minutes and then on reboot back on 50).
After 2-3 full cycles of charging nothing changed. Flashed fw nothing changed. Went to Samsung service and they just informed me that they changed the battery and now performing final checks.
Hope this will solve the issue. I'm too lucky that I am in the "6 months warranty" window for battery...
How does one go about sending it into Samsung? After getting it back, did you see a significant change?
I've been debating doing this but wasn't sure how to go about it.
I haven't got it back yet. They just called me and they said that apart from the battery, they need to change another part (the telephone operator didn't know which part) and I'm going to receive it tomorrow.
So I'll let you know once I receive it.

After trying everything (flashing different roms via odin, factory reset, full battery cycles etc) the problem never went away.
Went to Samsung service. They checked the battery and had to replace it.... within the warranty.
Same issue here. Just got an email saying its fixed. They changed the charging port and lcd. Weird that they replaced the lcd.
Well I got it back. Seems they broke the s pen function when taking it out or putting in. The tablet thinks it's always out of its slot. I guess another 2 weeks without this thing. What a pain in the ass. Times like this makes me wish I bought an ipad where I could just walk into the store and get it fixed that day.
I had the same problem. I sent it back on Monday and got it back 7 days later. They did not say what they changed, but now everything is working fine. I even got a new usb cable and a magnetic Germany flag
I sent mine in for an overheating problem and they changed the charging port and gave me a new cable. I initially also had the random drops in battery but seems to be better now.. They said bad voltage going to charging the battery or something. Still have overheating so gotta send it in again?

So guys did you get it fixed? I have exactly the same problem. I have sent it to fix at the sam service - they changed the charging port, but it didn't help anything. 1,5 years of normal usage and now I can pretty much throw it into the toilet. God damn POS!
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 battery drops
Hello all,
Just wanted to inform you all that I have been experiencing these battery drops (yesterday from 93% to a mere 5% in a matter of minutes) for a very long time now. I am running under the latest 4.4.2 stock firmware.
Also, battery life is way below par (understatement !), where the Note sometimes drops to around or below 5% (the magic number below which the screen starts to dim pretty dramatically and there's no way to influence that)
Funny thing is that after the battery drops to below 5% or even 1 or 2%, it's still possible to use the tablet for quite a number of hours afterwards, which suggests it may be something with the logic estimating/determining the remaining battery capacity, rather than the battery itself....)
Now I've tried draining the battery and fully recharging it multiple times/ resetting the stats using free apps / revert to factory settings etc.
All to no avail unfortunately, this problem simply keeps coming back.
(By the way: Apart from the battery and battery life, the Note is an excellent device, and delivers as promised.
Please also note that charging it through the microUSB cable is also simple, stable and relatively fast, unless you compare it of course to my all new Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which has a superior fast charge mode and offers the highest possible battery-life at this moment and easily beats any other smartphone (including the usual suspects from that Cupertino-based firm of which I can't force my mind to remember the name of.....) in this price-quality and performance category )
As for warranty:
Battery is no longer under warranty, the device itself is.
As such, I will now get the battery replaced by a new Samsung OEM-battery first, and see if that resolves the issue.
If it doesn't help, I will send it in for repair for Samsung.
I will keep you all informed on the resolution and cause.
Likewise, if there's anyone that has gotten to the root cause of this issue, please let me / let us know
Some users reported some 'magic part' OTHER than the battery itself (motherboard / charging circuit or even the lcd ??) having been replaced by Samsung after sending it in for repair.
That information could be very valuable to us all in trying to get Samsung to resolve the issue, so I would really appreciate it if someone would share this info in this thread.
Hey I know that there hasn't been much activity on this particular thread, but i too have been experiencing this problem for over a year now. I sent it into samsung twice and it still never fixed the issue and by the time i was going to send it in the 3rd time it was out of warranty. I personally removed the back cover and unplugged the battery for a while and that did not help. I have tried flashing different ROMS and kernels to no avail until last week. I flashed Temasek's Unofficial Build found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t/lt03wifi-temaseks-unofficial-build-t2980604 and after 3 full power cycles i have not had a single random drop yet i even managed to go 3 days with 6 hours of screen on time which is a record for me with this device. Not sure if it will help everyone but this seems to have solved my problem and i am thrilled! Also (as embarrassing as it is) i played 2.5 hours of Clash of Clans straight without a single random drop either.
I am beginning to have the issue as well on my P605v. Has there been any progress with your battery replacement? @mroset

Hello KwestJones,
I've successfully replaced the battery in the Note 10.1 2014, and it has improved things. With a little care, this is easy to do. Just removing the battery connector is a bit typical, you need to lift it carefully and slightly to remove it.
The result is not as drastic of an improvement as I would like to have seen, but at least the sudden drops in battery capacity percentage seem to be under control now.
I am doing a video test now, and will see how it behaves and let you know.
BR,
Maarten
Very curious to hear if replacing the battery corrected this issue. I've been experiencing this same battery drop issue for 2 or 3 months and the unit is well outside of warranty. Hoping there's a simpler fix, but willing to replace the battery if that will work since the tablet itself is still a great unit.
Complete factory reset should clear the Android Coulometer's data base or learning algorithm. Just clearing options of Battery Monitor Widget for rooted devices won't help. There are some other apps, which seem to help if the charge level never reaches 100%, a related, but not identical problem.
I have an old tablet suffering from this, with a tweaked custom rom, and i didn't want to clear and setup that completely. The algorithm or database is "learning" again, and the capacity jumps have become fewer and smaller over the last months. It should depend on how long the device was used and never reset before the incident. In my case over a year.
Itvs much like my cars fuel calculator, which won't work correctly during traffic light stops. Right after starting the engine, fuel consumption can raise several liters/h, when the car don't drive, as it uses the last sampled value(every 30 meters). And you need several kilometers to drive to have these levels drop to realistic ones again. While after a long driving distance, a traffic light stop will hardly have an influence.

[Q] Rapid Battery Loss & Rebooting Restores Battery?

So, my battery is wack... and I think it's only been acting like this since I went to a KK ROM? Maybe? Feels like it...
I've had this tablet since it was released last fall, and this behavior is very recent.
Anyways, it dies FAST. Like nose dives in a matter of 5-15 minutes. What's even weirder, is that sometimes, if I power cycle the device, it'll jump up by 30-60%. But then just dies again in another 5-15 minutes.
And there's a screenshot after I just power-cycled.
It jumped from 11% to 71%!!
Crazy!
I've also tried letting it get to 5% then charging it to 100%, done that twice. No luck. I don't know if this is related, but if I power it completely off, and plug it in, it turns on... kinda weird. My Note 3 doesn't do that, it just stays off and shows the battery charge indicator.

Hi, I have similar problem and I am with 4.3 android. I have battery loss when I play games. It drops to 2-3% really fast and after reboot it goes up to 35-40%. Once I fully depleted my battery and charge it. This time there were no battery lost. After the second charging problem persists.
If you manage to fixed it please tell us how.

I have a similar problem with my p600. the tablet is new, got it since a month or less.
at first i was amazed of the battery life i use it a lot for work writing documents and sheets on excel, battery used to perfom quite well giving me more than 5 hours of screen on, but recently the battery starts to drop very fast, now i can barely get around 2 hours of screen on.
i've already done 2 cycles of full discharge and then charge it completely with the tablet turned off. but the problem stills.
also sometimes when i reboot the tablet the battery goes from i.e 20% to 40% after the reboot.
im still looking for a fix or solution, today i found a new official firmware for my model (4.4 firmware for telcel mexico). going to wait until the tablet is fully charged and then flash the new firmware. I dont know if its going to help but i got nothing to lose.
by the way, sending it to semsung is not an option because of knox 0x1

Sorry to bump this, has anyone found a solution yet.
I've replaced the battery 3 times in about 9 months, but had this issue about a yr, was sent back to Samsung who changed the battery and supposedly updated the fw 4.4.2, I have since replaced the battery another 3 times every 3 months, each time either factory resetting or flashing a new rom, currently on official Smp600 5.1.1 BTU rom, today my battery was on 47%, I plugged in charger and was watching/streaming a movie on it, about 80 minutes later the tablet shut off, which was odd it's never powered off while on charge, powered it back on and battery said 19%, my previous issues has been the same as others, it can be on 100%, play a game, or stream a movie,or watch youtube etc and it will nosedive dramatically 20/30% at a time, sometimes within 10 mins it's gone from 100% to less than 30%, it's clear there's some sort of issue if others have it, I was wondering if a thread should be made to list ppl with this issue to see how many there are and go from there.

I've been having the same issue for some time now. Calibrating the battery does help, I don't experience the problem nearly as much after calibrating it. But it'll still nosedive on occasion, maybe once a week. This is the app I use to calibrate it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration

Problems after 5.0.1 update

I updated a couple of days ago to the android wear 5.0.1 OS and the latest android wear app...
Great work was done on the watchface API. Watchfaces are now more organized and accessible..
The biggest problem I'm facing now is the huge Battery Drain.
Watch can no longer last through the day.. I put it on at atound 6:30 in the morning.. At 2:30 PM, I'll be down to 15%.
What good is a watch if it can't last a normal day?
I think i might have jumped on the android wear wagon too soon.
Now I'm stuck with a useless device in my wrist.
Do you have a lot of 3rd party apps for the watch? I"m just guessing but it could be that these 3rd party apps aren't optimized to work with 5.0.1. Perhaps you could remove those apps and see how it goes.
And I assume that you've already done a reset?
I've made it through about 16 hours and am down to 46%. What are you doing to run it down so much? I have wrist activation turned off and ambient mode turned off. I do have Facer running with a watch face that gives weather and battery stats, but that's the only thing that would drain my battery.
I have not reset... I have two third party apps.. A compass and phone lost detection..
I'll reset and feedback here.. Good advice man thanks.
I have the same problem once i got the update even facer also updated battery life is bad again
Im having the same problem also. But after turn off BT a night, next day turn in again, the problem fix magically. Problem now is sometimes having difficulty to charge it. Need to turn off BT again then only can fully charge. Btw, didnt reset after system update.[/QUOTE]

For facer, see if this makes and difference -> http://www.reddit.com/r/Facer/comments/2p2in2/battery_life_android_wear_5_duplicate_watchfaces/
switch to the "other" facer app on your watch...

Uninstall phone lost detection app, that improved my battery life vastly
Sent from my GT-I9192 using XDA Free mobile app
Same thing happened to me. I usually take my watch off the cradle around 8am and get home from work around 6pm. Usually have about 60% life remaining. I'm using just the built in digital watch face. Today was my first full day on 5.0.1 update and my watch died before 3pm. I can't believe it. Hoping it's just a fluke. Think I'll go one more day and if it happens again will try a reset.

The reset did improved the battery performance for me.
I don't see any harm in resetting as this is a watch after all, so little will be lost.
However, the battery performance surely improved but it did not return the watch to the same battery performance as before the update.
I used to pick up the watch at 6:30 AM and put it on the dock at 11:30 PM with 48-50 percent left.
Now I pick it up at 6:30 and put it on the dock at 10 PM with 15 percent left. But it's still surely an improvement before the reset and after the update (I got only 5 hours before I decided to reset)
I still haven't installed ANY third party apps at all. I can only imagine how the performance will decrease if I install phone lost detection or any other Bluetooth-demanding apps.
i am finding that i'm getting slightly less battery life, but i make it through the day fine. i'm starting to wonder how much the accelerometer is killing battery. they finally integrated the option to disable "tilt to wake" and i have seen an improvement only at work where moving my hands on the keyboard. on the weekends, when i'm just wearing/walking, etc., tilt to wake makes no difference.
I got the latest 5.0.1 update on my watch seem like battery life is back! Im at 65% and its 4pm I removed it from the charger at around 5am .
My previous problem was I had the 4.4w on my watch and Facer that was on Android 5.0 . That was the reason for the bad battery life.
I've been on 5.0.1 for a couple days now and while battery life seems unchanged to me, the watch does seem to have a hard time charging to 100%. I got home from work and put it on the charger and usually it charges to 100% within an hour. Now I noticed it would get to about 85-90% and stop charging completely. The blue circle charging screen stays on but it doesn't keep charging. I left it on the charger all night and it was at 86% when I picked it up in the morning. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I have pretty much the same issue with my Moto 360, except in my case I only get to 75~78%, less than yours. I've been googling here and there about this one, but so far no luck with fixes or workarounds. I've e-mailed Motorola and, although I don't except a lot from them, hopefully they get back to me with something useful.
i think i noticed this also! hovered around 85% -ish.
i just took it off the charger, put it back and then it has not happened since. this was a couple days ago.
stock stock stock all the way homie! latest updates. nex 6 paired.
Yeah seems ok to me now too. Strange.
