Good to know, I use a 200GB one and it works like a charm. Don't think I can reach even 50% usage on mines yet. Good to know a 512GB works too. UwU

My 256gB memory is nearly full, I will go for 512GB soon.
Thanks,

What is the maximum speed that is sensible for this phone?
Is a 1024gb memory card possible?

I reached 55-60mb/s (file explorer) with a Samsung Evo Plus (2017) 256GB card with a 1,9GB file.
Maybe there's a benchmark app to test the speed?
About the 1TB sd i dont know.

I read that some applications have trouble being stored on external micro SD cards. Someone here mentioned their comic reader app has to be on the device as do their comics for it to work properly. The extra 16 would help there.
I'd personally prefer a 32GB device over 16GB as well. I would have bought that if it were available. I use a 128GB micro SD card but having on device storage is handy as well.

There's an app in the play store called SD fix or something like that which can fix this in seconds if you have root.

Although some apps may use the sd cards, like camera/video and tom tom, somes do not! Furthermore, only a portion got to go on the Sd Card.
My S4 is already limited to 16GB. I will also add a 64 GB sd Card if ever there is a 32 GB model here in Canada.

I am using sandisk ultra class 10 from last 3 years.
Earlier used in Galaxy Note & now with Redmi.
Working fine. Not problem as such.
Just FYI: don't go by read wrote benchmark that company show, because really scenario is much different from their test condition. It depends on hardware, software etc.

I have samsung evo 16gb class 10 card. it works perfectly. Don't know about 32gb version. As far as uhs is concerned our device won't be able to take advantage of it(that means speed). I have been using for 2 months no problem at all. Even sandisk uhs enabled card works on our device. but i am happy with samsung. please do format your card with fat 32 format and then format within your phone and then use the card. hope this helps
Go for it ... I'm using 32 GB evo ... work great without any problem .

Issues with external microsd

Hello, I am experiencing some issues with an external microsd (Sandisk Extreme Sdxc 64 GB UHS-I class speed 3). After some time the microsd "disappears" as if it was unmounted, and I am forced to restart the phone to gain access to it.
I have tried to replace the microsd with a Samsung Evo 32 GB, and so far I got no problems, so are there any compatibility problems between the Sandisk one and the Zenfone 2?
Not having any issues with a 128GB Lexar. Perhaps your 64Gb is failing?

128GB? I believed (as the manual reports), that only SDXC up to 64 GB were supported by the Zenfone 2.
However, no, the same microsd is working correctly on another smartphone (Acer Liquid E2), so it seems a compatibility problem with Zenfone 2.
I can confirm it works with SanDisk Extreme 128Gb and the Lexar 633x 128Gb SDXC cards.
I was having a similar issue with a "Sandisk" 64 GB card until I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730285
Tried both the Android app "SD Insight" and the MS exe write/test and discoverd that my Sandisk was not at all genuine....

Mne has been bought directly from Amazon, so it should be genuine, however I will test it according to your suggestions.
Ok, I have tested my microsd with H2testw, ant it seems ok:
Warning: Only 60901 of 60902 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 30.8 MByte/s
Reading speed: 35.7 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
I will then test it also with SD Insight

May I ask you which model do you have (550 or 551 ML), how much ram in your model, the version of your firmware, and a picture of your Sandisk Extreme microsd?
Thanks in advance
Did you format the card on Zenfone 2?
Sometimes doesn't matter, but I always format initially whenever I stick in a new card (from different cameras to different cell phones). Just to rule out any problems.

Ok, thanks a lot. Both of them are UHS-I class 1 (U1) according to the classification here:
https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/speed_class/
Mine is UHS-I class 3 (U3), maybe this could be at the origin of this issue, even if it doesn't convince me a lot.

So @Michelasso , did you find a solution to your problem (beside changing the card) ? And if you did, with another brand did you encountered the same issue? Asking because i have the same issue and before buying me another 100$ card i want to know if it would solve the problem... Thanks.

Asus hasn't released a fix for this issue so far to my knowledge, so I have been forced to change the card. I am using now a Samsung EVO 64 GB, that is UHS-I class speed 1 (U1) and I haven't had any problem till now.

The common problem here seems to be Sandisk...
I have a Samsung 128gb sd card in one Zenfone 2 and a 64gb Samsung sd card in my spare. Never had a problem... Haven't yet tried the 200gb Sandisk but that is for another tablet anyways...
Have tried kingston 64gb and 128gb lexmark with both working fine...

Is 128GB microSD supported or not?

Hi,
I want to buy 128 GB microSD card for Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. I have heard, that on Android 4.3, max supported card capacity is 64 GB, and when you have Android 4.4 you can uset cards up to 128 GB.
That's why I am asking you. Do you have Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition running 128GB microSD without issues? I expect non-rooted devices
Thx for reply

Yes. Using 128gb micros with no problems.
I'm also using a 128GB microsD card on a Note 10.1 2014 without issues. I'm rooted now but it also worked when I wasn't.

Theoretically we should be able to use up to a 2tb sd card, if one existed. As long as it says sdxc or sdhc on it it will work.
sdhc is 4 to 32gb and 64+ is sdxc format. 128gb is sdxc...
For people prefering a specific model name: I just inserted a SanDisk Ultra 128GB (one of the current black ones: SDSQUNC-128G-GZFMA), formatted it in the tablet and am now having over 100GB space (what should I ever put on there...? )

I have music, videos and work files not to mention pictures... I have around 4 - 5 gb free most of the time but find it VERY easy to fill up.
I also have rom images too and a backup of my device so it is easy to fix if things go wrong...
I use a Samsung Evo 128gb sd card.
On a side note, if you do get Kingston cards be aware that at one time there were "128gb sd cards" floating around but they said sdhc on them, NOT sdxc. These are fakes... As I said above, anything 64gb and above are sdxc...
It does work!
I just tested, bought a kingston micro sd and the tablet recognized it without a problem
I will be using it in a note 3 though

T800 External SD: is anyone getting more than 15MB/s of WRITE speed?

Hello, I tested my 64G SD CARD Sandisk Extreme with my PC and I get WR speeds of 50MB/s but in my tablet does not go beyond 15MB/s, is it a limitation in hardware or maybe in my ROM CM 12.1? for the test I'm using A1 SD Bench DEFAULT TEST if anyone wants to test their tab too and please put the version of ROM too.
I get a read speed of 29.21MB/s and a write speed of 17.55MB/s on my T800 using an Samsung 128GB EVO+ microsd and i used the app A1 SD Bench.

I am guessing it's a hardware limitation. I wouldn't expect significantly better speed from a USB2 interface.
