There is no point enabling it, as the AOD is basically only for AMOLED and not IPS displays.

Stop it, I don't f... care, my question is clear
It's not only for AMOLED displays, it's just a piece of software not bound to the hardware

The option is not available on phones with IPS screens... Simply cause there's no point.

No, there's no always on option on Miui 11 with LCD screens as that would make no sense.

Always On Display On Tab S

How can I install official always on display app on my tablet and use it ?
Not reccomended because this tablet has an OLED screen, and it would cause burn-in.

I don't know if it's possible to install the Always On Display (AOD) app on this tablet, but the AMOLED screen is not a problem, because the original AOD app is being used on the Samsung S7/S7Edge and ex Note7 which all have an AMOLED screen.
Burn-in prevention techniques are used by AOD.
Conversely battery drain might probably be a problem as this screen was not designed for AOD.
Someone created an AOD app and posted it on the Galaxy S6 forum. I haven't tried it since I don't care for AOD.

No..
Always on diplay is only efficent in AMOLED displays..which are present in Pixel, Samsung etc
This phone has ips display which means always on display is not battery efficient.
I dont think kernel can make much difference.

Read instructions before you try it
Thanks Everyone
saw a rom with the always on display being change into ambient display, where the AOD only shows up when there is notification came in instead of the default whole lock screen being show

Double tap?
Gcam needs RAW support by the camera driver.
My SODP based ROMs support it.
(And GCAM needs GAPPS)
be aware that the camera is work in progress there, if you rely on it, I would wait with unlocking the phone until it's okay.
Sry I mean double tap to wake.
Sad that GCAM don't work. I'll wait a bit before I unlock because it's a company phone and I don't want to say to my boss "sry I've bricked my new phone"

If I remember correctly only the XZ3 has it, because the battery drain is too high on a non OLED display. (Black color takes non power on OLED screens, while other colors taking more power than a LCD screen)
But maybe somewhere is a mod, which requires root (unlocking mandatory again hihi)
You're allowed to unlock a company phone and maybe kill the warranty? [emoji14]

It's a small company so it's not a problem, except if the phone is bricked

Very cool!
Make sure you updated to the newest PIE firmware before unlocking
Sony tends to remove the DRM more with each new OS version.
Maybe you want to wait for the Q update, before you unlock.

MIUI 12.5.8 EU enable AOD

Hi,
I use the EU rom, V12.5.8.0.RJDCNXM.
It's perfect, the phone is rooted.
I just want to try out the stock Always On Display, but I can't.
On the global rom, it is easy, in the developer options, disable the miui optimisations, and the AOD is available as an option in the settings.
However, in the EU rom, there is no miui optimisations option in the developer settings.....
I can reach the AOD setting ( activity launcher ) but not working. There is any flashable file from Magisk or from TWRP, to enable the AOD?
Please leave the "clever comments" why you need or stuf like that..... I just like to try out.
Thanks
AOD works only on AMOLED Displays, isn't it? Mi 10T is LCD screen and hence AOD won't work. That's probably the reason why you don't find that setting.

Yes, but on other xiaomi phones also solved, example RN8P.... btw, the old LG G5, and G6 also knew with LCD. So, by default strongly not recommended, but not impossible

Question Tap screen resolution in settings has gone?

I just bought the pixel 6 pro, did the latest November security update, I wanted to check what the screen resolution is, so I went to settings /Display,and in Display there should be an option called screen resolution, where you can choose what resolution you want etc.Screen resolution is not showing on the display settings?
Have they got rid of it, is it anywhere else?
November 18th 2022
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I don't remember ever seeing that on any Pixel or N device. Maybe I never checked, though.

The Pixel 6 Pro gains a long-overdue display feature with new mod
A developer has unofficially brought display resolution adjustments to the Pixel 6 Pro, allowing you to run your screen at FHD+.

So it's automatically set to qhd then, and you can only go to 1080 by a mod?
No, that option was never there before as it's only QHD
Pretty sure this setting has been implemented in the Kirisakura kernel.
also in radioactief kernel.
