Hi everbody,
I have a Zenfone 3 and about two weeks ago, I flashed LineageOS on it. I'm very happy with it, except of this particular annoying bug.
I have alarms every 15 min from 6am to 10am, because of my stupid work that has very various shift hours. So I activate the alarms I need depending when I start my job.
Anyway, the problem is that the musics I selected don't play when the alarm starts, some of them are replaced by the default sound. It's looks random, it can be any of the alarms, sometimes one, two, or more of them.
The good music titles still appear in the alarms list, but when I click on it, it's the default alarm sound that plays.
All the musics I use are on my SD card.
Does anyone else have this problem and/or an idea to fix that bug ?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
1) Does anyone know how to set the SMS tone to ring twice ie: like nokia or SE default tones (I usually dont notice it ringing the first time)
and how to change SMS tones? I can't seem to find that option. Been searching around can't figure out the answer.
2) Similiar for the Alarm, How do I get it to repeat indefinitely? One short ring isn't enough to wake me up
Funny you started this topic,
last 2 days i slept over... so i came to late on my work.
I tried the alarm in the morning, and it rings, but one time...
i can't wake up by one ring...
Alarm - You can go into TF3D - Settings - System - Clock & Alarms and set the tone there to repeat. Although mine repeats on its own...?
SMS tone - Use an editor and copy and paste the tone after itself, that how Nokia tones are done, its not "repeated", its only played once, its just the actual file has the same repeated in it.
Yep, I got that.. Now is there any way to decrease the wait between "repeats"? There seems to be long wait between repeats and it only gets longer each time
i followed you instructions on how to get the alarm to repeat, but now it plays the tone then long silence then it will play it again. I'v tried this will all the preset tones an it does the same, is there a way to get the alarm to continually play, or a good alarm app that wont interfere with the tf3d on the tp2
I have the same problem with the default alarm that the delay between the alarm is just way too long. you can try klaxon or g-alarm (v1.5.1 is still free) as an alternative.
I use this

for alarm and have no problems

Click to collapse
Changing SMS tone is easy when you find it! If you go to Settings / Sound / Advanced / Notifications tab and select Messaging: New Text Message you can select the sound file you want etc.

Hi all,
I have a a bug with my defy...
I use my defy for a long time without any problem. Since few week i have bug with any music app, also the alarm or mp3 ring tone. When i use player or other music apps, mp3 start and stop after few seconds, after the music start randomly and stop (always after few seconds) other songs. This is not the headset problem and i notice the bug appear also with alarm and ring tone.
I trie with other rom and the problem stay with all other rom i've tried except stock SFR ROM.
I trie to find other issue...
thanks for your help
(I did use google and the search function for this, without sucess)
I've been using android (CM7 RC0) for one and a half week for now, so far so good, but I'm having a problem with the alarm clock.
Lost class one day, the alarm didn't go off on speakers, because I left my headphones plugged in the night before, listening to music.
So, I figured out "Always play on speaker" settings under CyanogenMod settings, and checked it.
Next day, guess what, it didn't wake me up.
Found out that while music is playing (it kept playing all night long, after I slept) even with the "always play on speaker" checked, the alarm only sounds on the headphones.
Searched for settings to correct this problem, there is a "volume while music playing" option, but it doesn't give me the option to ring on speakers while music is playing.
Does anybody know a solution for this problem?
Thanks.
I'd recommend you to use Alarm Clock Xtreme (free) you can find it in the market.
It has an option to force your alarm through the speakers even with headphones plugged in, it also has a lot more nice features!
Thanks!
Will test it later today, I hope I don't lose any more appointments because of that.
I don't know if this is a silly issue, could this be a suggestion for the Cyanogen devs to add the "always on speaker while music playing" option under the existing menu?
Thanks for your help, the suggested alarm did work. Funny thing is when it rings on speakers, the music that was playing at the headphones is also redirected to the speakers, it becomes a messy sound Anyways, it WILL wake me up!
I'm glad I could help you. I never knew it would mix the alarm sound and music sound when the alarm goes off (haven't used that feature yet). The "always on speaker while music playing" option in Cyanogenmod should do the same thing so I guess this is a bug.
or get a music player app with a "sleep function". i.e. click on 120mins and the app will self close/turn off the music in 120mins... so your alarm can sound in the morning via speaker... not as flexible but just another option.
Hi!
I also had this problem on my older Desire Z, but then it just kept changing all notification / ringtones sounds to ramdom .mp3 files on the SD card. Not when connecting in Mass Storage mode, but without any intervention from my part.
Now it will change some or all sounds (ringtones, notifications, alarms) to "Unknown ringtone". You can see it in the screenshot. When I try to change them back to something, in the list where I should choose the file, no sound will play when I tap on them (usually, you can preview the sound before accepting). After I choose the file I want, the Personalize menu will still show "Unknown ringtone". The only way to get it back to normal is a phone reset, and then all my ringtones will get back to the ones I've chosen initially.
I should note that I use only custom ringtones, all of them are on the Mass Storage memory in "Audio/Ringtones", "Audio/Notifications" and "Audio/Alarms". I don't use any ringtone app (like Ringdroid etc.) and I only have "normal" apps installed (some games and popular apps from known developers).
This thing happens at random, at least once a day, I don't connect the phone in Mass Storage mode, it just sits on the table and suddenly the ringtones are gone. The worst part is that nothing will play, so I won't receive sound notifications for alarms or incoming calls, only vibration if it is set so.
I searched and read a lot of threads on diffeent forums, a lot of people have this problem on other phones and Android versions, but nobody had an explanation or a solution. Could it be an app I use? I can make a list of everything I installed...
I'd appreciate any help, this problem is very annoying.
After a lot of testing and cursing the phone, I think I found the problem. I re-converted all my mp3 ringtones to 96kbps, mono, no ID3 tag, no embedded album picture, just plain .mp3. It now seems to work fine for two days.
I think the random change happens only for big mp3 files or for mp3 files with album art. Hope it helps, if somebody will have the same issue.
check the setting of you profiles. see if it has the same ringtones.
Weird problem here; when I first got my HTC One X the alarms in the stock Clock app worked perfectly. They still work now, but I can no longer create new alarms with the Alarm Sound option set to Music, nor can I change existing alarms to use new music.
I first experienced the problem at least a month ago, and wrote it off to the app data being slightly corrupted, but just a couple of days ago I applied the RUU update, wiping my app data in the process. (And I didn't restore a backup, just reinstalled a few key apps and reloaded their data manually.)
So... there are no alarms set in the Clock app except the default three unnamed, disabled alarms. I can't change these to use music, and nor can I create a new alarm with music.
The symptom is that when I tap on the Music option, the menu vanished and I'm dumped back at the Set alarm screen without a warning, and without ever being given the chance to choose the music for the alarm. The alarm sound remains set to whatever it was before I attempted to change it to Music.
Before I wiped my phone, the existing Music alarms continued to work just fine, and there's very little music on my phone at all--just a handful of regular, short MP3s I used for alarms and the ringtone. They all play fine outside the Clock app.
Anybody else who can replicate this issue, or who has any thoughts / suggestions?
