Hi all,
I haven't upgraded to Android 9, until now, since no OTA updates where reported when checking. It is the global version with a "5 October 2018" security patch level. The build number is V9.6.15.0.ODIMIFE. These days a notifications comes up, reporting what you can see in the attached screenshot, having a size of 1101.5 MB.... It doesn't say if it is a version upgrade....
Has anyone seen such a notification?
I think, I should prepare the phone (enable developer mode, usb debugging, oem unlock, etc) before clicking on "Download and Install"...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
This is weird. Mine is 1022,07. I'm on September security Patch.

If you're on 8.1 and there's an update for November patch 2019 it will ofc be pie
Yes it is going to be the pie update. Including the security patches until November. I had that in my phone as well and the update works fine.
I eventually installed this update.
It really is a Pie update.
It took about 5 minutes to install after downloading. First reboot screen with the moving horizontal like takes some minutes. Then after the phone boots, some process does some finalizing settings. I had to enable fingertip sensor and setup the fingertips.
Smooth installation and it really works fine!

I am a developer who has been emailing a user back and forth for a week trying to diagnose an install error with my app.
I need someone with a Google Pixel XL 2 on the most recent update (Android 8.1 on the May 2018 Security Patch) to just try and download and install and see if you get the install error 505.
It's a quality Auto-Reply app called TextAssured.

Thank you!
I downloaded and installed it just fine and it appears to be working the little bit I played with it on my device, I am on the April security patch if that helps any.

The new update has screwed up Youtube app for me. I get the cut screen or screen with sharp edge and can no longer zoom to fill the entire screen. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Cant Lock LTE Only
after flash update. i cant lock LTE Only. at *#*#4636#*#*
any solution?
after this update, i got battery drain in standby mode. it drains 2 - 3% of my battery.
camera is the only issue for me so I enabled camera2api and installed a ported ROG camera. Not perfect but much better than stock
So, I updated my Pixel 3 XL to march security patch and sudenlly my Google Camera App updated to version 7.2.018.283724810, with the "new features".
I was avoiding this camera update because, for me, the app takes much more time to take a picture and process. I tried to uninstall, but the app does not allow me to do that. Tried to download a 7.1 version but, again, the phone does not allow me to do it. I really do want to stay in this 7.2 version. Anyone have an ideia how do I downgrade the app? I'm complete stock here, rootless.
Update: According to this post by Androidpolice, a Oneplus representative had informed that the update was pushed out unintentionally, and for those who have already updated, a future update will bring back the photochrome mode. (Thanks to Walhalla for providing the link and info)

The temporary disable of Photochrome filter that came with the update in China has finally found its way to Global ROM.
I had just received the update notification from 10.5.6 to 10.5.9 and the new update will be disabling the Photochrome mode in Global ROM as well. FYI, I haven't updated yet.
The changelog mentions the filter is expected to return in June after revamp, but there is no exact date.

I'm not sure as I haven't done the update yet, will play around with Photochrome for a while before I update .
Still april security update
Isn't it possible to extract the 10.5.8 camera version as an apk and to install it then on the new ROM ?
Probably not if you are not rooted. I think lower version number than the system version is not possible, but you can try it. That is the one that is installed on my 10.5.8 firmware.
I just checked my camera app version, it´s 4.0.244. So this version can also be found on apk mirror https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&page=7&s=oneplus . So shouldn´t it be possible to flash the new ROM and afterwards the old camera version downloaded from apk mirror?
Is there anything else significant in the update? If not then I'm not bothering. I like this filter.
@Deacon-Frost
Have you even read my post?
@dladz
Not really, I compared the system partitions of 10.5.8 and 10.5.9 with WinMerge and have not found any useful changes. There are changed bluetooth libs, but thats all.
I spotted version 4.0.251 on apk several days ago as I also have .244 on my 8 pro.
I had thought about updating, but didn't.
Can anyone who has updated to 10.5.9 check and see what the camera version is?
TIA

Of course I've not
Can someone go into there Camera app and turn off Ultrashot HDR and Smart Content Detection and take a picture in 3x zoom mode and see if the image it comes out is normal to you or the same as what the viewfinder showed?
Every photo I take it seems to overbrighten or the contrast is turned super high (even though the viewfinder looks fine).
I'm still within the 14 days period of my return in case my camera is faulty but the screen I got is nearly perfect condition with a slight smudge at bottom and a faint line at top so don't really want to send it in.
EDIT: Hoping this update fixes it for me if not...
I'm still on 10.5.6. 5.8 was pulled here in North America. Has anyone manually upgraded to 10.5.8 using the incremental file?
I want to know if it was any help or if I should just stick to 10.5.8.
Thanks,

My memory was not wrong. I just tried to install an older camera version on 10.5.8 and this was the result:
adb install -f "com.oneplus.camera_4.0.230-24190539_minAPI28(arm64-v8a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk"
Performing Streamed Install
adb: failed to install com.oneplus.camera_4.0.230-24190539_minAPI28(arm64-v8a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE]

Odd I'm on that build and I still have photochrome
CAUTION: This update may have major bugs (see link below) with overheating, constant max cpu and therfore, battery drain.
I've updated via the full zip already and will give updates for the next couple of days. I did experience heating whilst driving, I was streaming via Bluetooth to my car and uploading this latest full zip to mega at the same time. Initially I just put it down to these factors but reading some of the link from @MelquiXDA, it may be a full issue with the rom. Once I cancelled the upload and finished my journey the phone returned to normal temps. Everything still stable now too. I've not changed any settings to counter the issues. Time will tell, will keep people posted

UPDATE: LINKS REMOVED, TOO MANY BAD EXPERIENCES
UPDATE : it seems its a Google issue causing the cpu spikes to max. This would tie up with my device not having max cpu possibly because I'm running the Google beta services
Asus has released a new update for our device
Changelog;
Android security patch update to 2020-09
Added support for ROG Connect in Armoury Crate
Support TwinView Dock 3 FW update
Fix issue where Pokemon Go could cause high CPU usage
Fix Application names being cut off in Recents view for Hebrew localization
Fix AirTriggers mistouch issue and optimize AirTriggers stability
Incremental (WW);
Alternative link;
Will update when there's links released for full zip
Full zip update;
For those of you that are rooted: Download the full zip, move to root of internal storage and reboot. System will detect and prompt to update, click update. Wait until it finishes but DON'T click 'restart', instead, click 'restart later'. Go to Magisk manager. Click 'install' for Magisk. Click the last option 'install to inactive slot after OTA'. Click confirm force flash. Reboot when prompted. Done - root kept intact. One thing I did find which may have been a one off, but it changed my default launcher from Nova back to Asus. Not a big deal, I just changed it back under 'default apps' in settings.
Will post mega mirror soon.
Note: incremental update won't work with rooted devices

Downgraded to WW-17.0240.2007.27 and bug 100% solved here, after app installs CPU returns to 826MHz normally, so its bug of latest Asus update (related to apk installs, when some Asus process tries to detect new app and crash).
S9+ don't manifest this bug here, even with september security patch.
