I've downloaded and installed LINE from various stores (Aptoide, Aurora) and multiple versions, but all immediately crash upon opening the app.
I've used Magisk Hide (via Magisk Manager) to hide the rooting from LINE in case that was what is causing the app to crash, but that didn't solve it either.
It can't be the lack of GSF as the app runs perfectly on Sailfish OS (via Alien Dalvik), which also has no GSF at all.
I don't know what else to try to get it to work.
I'm having no such problem with other social apps such as WhatsApp and Skype.

I am unable to install apps from the market. I can access the market and select the apps but all I get is starting downloads which doesn't change even if I leave for hours. I have WI-FI enabled and can access the web with no problems. Here is what I have tried already.
Clear Data in Downloader,
Clear Data and Cache in market
Factory reset
Flashed to CyanogenMod 7
and I still cannot download any apps.
If you have s-off you could try deleting the market.apk file and then reinstalling from a non market source? If you search xda I'm sure I remember several threads about this.
I had this problem a few times. Have you recently changed your Gmail (If you use Gmail) address from @googlemail to @gmail? This is what caused the problem for me and many others...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I never did work out what was causing the problem. I installed CyanogenMod 7 and all is work again.
Yea, sometimes just a reflash fixes the problem. I also found that, sometimes, the download would just finish but never actually install - almost as if the .apk downloaded but the Market Process just never actioned the new .apk to open, so it just sat in /cache until the next reboot, doing nothing.
log in to google talk...i think that should solve the issue.
It just drives me crazy to have apps auto update especially on expensive data. For some reason my stock market doesn't work anymore at all in my phone, I tried to install a fresh download of market but still wont help so I removed it permanently from system apps and the phone became free of the so many force-close errors I was getting with most apps and runs very smoothly. I usually get apps through apk downloader. Am using sdext2 for the installed apps. Is there anyway of disabling apps from automatically updating themselves but have internet access for social media apps?
Problem solved, I got a terminal command that does it perfectly.
mod you can delete this now
Today i noticed that whenever I open my phone google chrome opens up with a webpage and i get full screen ads every now and then. The weird part is that I did not install any new apps or update anything. I have tried all types of ad detectors and malware programs and nothing is being found but the problem persists. Anything I can do except doing a full wipe? Not sure what else to do as I don't have many apps installed, trying to install and reinstall one by one to see if any of them were it with no results.
Perhaps go in under settings - applications, select clear data and wipe cache for the browser. I had something weird with dolphin, something was grabbing and redirecting, though adaway blocked the bad urls. A delete and reload of the browser app, including data cache for it, cleared the problem.
I use dolphin only and this is popping up in chrome. I have just tried doing both to your recommendations and its still the same, any other ideas?
Try xposed module minminguard
2SHAYNEZ
Not working as well.
Bought a z5 premium from ebay, works great, i have installed some basic apps like a browser( deleted chrome cuz it devours your ram) , vlc player, amazon etc... However i cannot install facebook, or messenger or the 2 lite versions. Google play says " can't install messenger, try again and if it still doesnt work see common ways to fix the problem"
I thought google play is drunk so i downloaded the apk from the web, and upon installation it says this: " app not installed the package conflicts with an existing package by the same name"
So in plain english that means it cannot be installed because it is already installed? Thats bull**** because i searched for the app in settings, even downloaded revo uninstaller to look for it. Only thing i found is 2 very small system apps. Both of them are called "Facebook App installed 18.4, however one is 75kb the other is 4mb.
Could these 2 cause the problem? Is it safe to delete them ? (they are under system apps, not user apps)
What could be the problem? I tried restarting, and cleaning cache of gplay, installing apk not working so what the hell is going on?
Flash rom with flashtool and select full wipe.
