Tried stock T-Mobile 4.4.2, tried every T-Mobile ROM, and every aosp all give me the same result as when i noticed it using X-note.
Is it just my phone that's got issues or does nobody else notice Wi-Fi or LTE speeds getting slashed while using Bluetooth?
Can someone let me know if this is isolated to my phone or other T-Mobile note 3 on 4.4.2?

I have bluetooth enabled all day - with galaxy gear watch connected. Never had an issue with speeds.
Are you on bluetooth with a phone call? Because if you are, your speeds drop to 4G and not LTE.
It's not during a call. It still shows up as LTE or 3G or 2G or Wi-Fi. It simply take whatever speed those normally provide and chops 85% off. I can see the signals all remain the exact same the download speed is the only difference. I'm speaking about while using a Bluetooth speaker or headphone during playback of music already on my phone. If I stop or pause the music it goes right back to normal until I hit play again. This is only an issue for me when downloading large files it just takes 10 times longer than normal.

I just run both WiFi and LTE speed tests with BT headphones playing song and no BT, no speed differences to speak of, is this only KK thing or is there other reason I don't experience this slowdown since I'm on 4.3 rooted?
Rate this thread to express how you think the Google Pixel's Wifi performs. A higher rating indicates that it has excellent range, throughput, and signal strength. Like when you're taking a dump in the bedroom upstairs, do your videos have to buffer or do they come through without interruption?

Haven't done any real speed tests of the wifi on my Pixel, but I came here to ask who dumps in their bedroom? Not judging...just eww...

I'm with you there. Mine hasn't even arrived. But I don't dump in my bedroom with my 5X.... Why would I dump in there cause I have a pixel? Lol!
No issues with WiFi range that I've found.
By far the worst WiFi experience I've had on any smartphone to date. Be it at home, work, friend's house, or any other place with WiFi, my Google Pixel phone's internet connection keeps going dead even though the phone says it's still connected. This problem manifests itself in downloads that never finish and get stuck indefinitely until I have to manually turn off WiFi, let the download happen over LTE. This happens with video downloads (In web browser, on Youtube app, Facebook app, etc.), with app downloads/updates from the Play Store, and other downloads.
It's a frustrating frequently recurring problem that happens on a daily basis, and I haven't found a solution to it yet.

Try to turn of LTE data while using WiFi , that fixed it for me, I noticed the issue early days I got the pixel since then I just turn of LTE data and it works normally.

Thanks, will try that and see how it works, though it's a bummer as I'm actually getting real good speeds on just LTE and I'm contemplating just using that and keeping WiFi off.

Isn't LTE turned off automatically when connected to WIFI? How do you switch it off?
What I see on my Pixel WIFI is that it always needs a second or two to start receiving data. Where my Laptop immediately starts downloading data when clicking on a e.g. link, my Pixel always needs a short time.

It should be, but what I actually noticed is once WiFi gets weak signal it switches to LTE for better connection, that's my experience with so now I just keep LTE turned off while using WiFi and the other way around when using LTE
No problems here. You guys might have a problem on your hands. Defective units?
I have excellent throughout and signal strength on my Pixel with my 802.11 AC router. Absolutely no problems in all areas in and around outside near my house.
Is there a way to speed up wifi polling? Say I turn off wifi and then turn it back on. The time it takes to find and reconnect to my wifi network takes a while. Is there a way to speed that up?
Wifi range is pretty bad compared my 2 year old OP2
My wife's pixel started ignoring or 5ghz wifi and then the bluetooth crapped out and then the 2.4ghz wifi started dropping at about 10 ft from the router... I just did a RMA with Verizon and got a Google version as a referb... other than that signals are on par with any other phone I have besides motorola, they have the best connection in my opinion
wifi sucks on this phone compared to my v20.

Do you guys talking about the connectivity issues think it's due to the build materials? I notice WiFi on my 5x seems to hold signal better , though I can get ac on my pixel(wifi speed is greatly different but only because of ability to connect to a. Signal on 5x seems to hold longer and farther.)
Yesterday I noticed something unusual. Somehow the internet connection on my computer was unstable. It took a while until I figured out why:
Everytime I turn the Wi-Fi on my Pixel on and it connects to my network, the router crashes. Not always instantaneously, but inevitably.
As long as I keep the Wi-Fi turned off, everything is fine.
It does resemble an issue which plagued the Pixel in December last year, also letting routers (especially mesh networks) crash.
So my question is: Did anybody find a fix for that issue back then? Because Google apparently didn't fix this or patched it back.
Interesting. I have been having WIFI issues at home where the wireless freezes but my wired connection is fine. It doesn't happen all the time, but can happen 1-4 times per week. What internet provider/router do you have? I'm on Cox with a router provided by them.
Honestly I have no idea how to troubleshoot my issue.
I actually have a TP-link archer c5400 and have been having wifi crashes as well. thought it was a google home issue but that was apparently fixed. Still getting crashes. starting to think its my pixel too
I have this too. Asus AC66U router with updated firmware. Pixel 2 XL causes everything to drop - wifi, lan - and it won't come back until I turn off wifi on the phone. Today I installed Beta Google Play services which supposedly should fix the problem so will test this afternoon.
Exact same issues here with my new XL 2.
I resolved it by switching off the dual band on my router and just using 2.4.
Been fine since I did that.

The router has been regularly updated. I experienced the lost of WiFi connection before and after the update.
This is some of the error I fetched from log when my Pixel was kept losing the WiFi connection:
E/WifiVendorHal(1102): stopRssiMonitoring(l.2156) failed {.code = ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE, .description = }

Just wanted to report that I had the same problem with my Pixel 2 Xl and my ASUS RT-AC68U router running on its stock up-to-date firmware. My different Chromecast devices and my Google Home would lose connection to the router and appear as "linked devices" that are unavailable (and would require to be turned off and on to reconnect).
What fixed it for me? Using the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware https://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/
Not a single problem yet since I did it
Pixel 2 crashes Asus router using 802.11ac 5G
I wish Google would fix this!
All the latest patches and firmware on phone and router. Pixel 2 connects via 802.11ac 5G and router goes offline immediately, losing even wired connections.
After many hours of screwing around with this I finally deleted the Pixel 2 802.11ac 5G profile and kept the slower 802.11n 2G profile intact, which does not seem to have any compatibility issues with this router. It does suck to use slower connection, but it's better than the alternative.
Update: The 802.11n 2G connection from Pixel 2 also crashes the router, so I deleted it now too.

Simple fix is to buy an expensive router next time
This issue is your phone checking multicast for google home devices and if any media is playing back. This was reported back a while ago and many companies have pushed FW to update their newer routers. If you have an older router, maybe nows the time to upgrade as you can get a fairly cheap one for 50-100.
Google WiFi works great.
I wouldn't call Asus AC66U a cheap router but it's still happening.
Any way we could manually block those multicast packets on a router software?

I can confirm that the moment my Pixel 2 connects on 5G, the router resets. Temporary workaround has been to turn off the 5G radio.

Just got my Pixel 3 xl and got it rooted. I cant find any tethering app that will work. Tried wifi tether router and no luck with it either. Anyone have any suggestions? Need it for my grandfathered verizon account.
The maker of the WiFi tether router had me try some different settings but no luck yet.

??? is the phone not able to be tethered through the build.prop hack anymore?
Need an app like root explorer to edit the build.prop file.
Open in the text editor and add a line at the end that says
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
Then reboot.
This works.
On a related note, has anyone experienced slower network and tethering speeds on the pixel 3 or 3 XL? Tethering on my 2 XL was generally flawless. I've been tethering on my 3 XL for 3 days to watch videos on my larger tablet screen. The video buffering is almost unbearable. I can't help but wonder if either the battery optimization is slowing it down or the radio is just crap.
Love the phone, but my network speeds are much worse than they were ever on my 2 XL.

I have been using wifi tethering via on my grandfathered unlimited plan for many years 10~ and haven't run into any issues. All you have to do is be wary of the caps on our "unlimited" plans and you'll be fine. I believe it's on the neighborhood of 100 gigs before Verizon sends you a letter saying your account will be down shut down unless you switch to some other plan blah blah blah.

S20 Unlocked from Samsung.com
Carrier: AT&T
Issue:
When on home WiFi network, the S20 does not load images in apps such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. Slows to a complete crawl.
If I test on fast.com, I receive normal home speeds on mobile of 200-400mbps
If I turn off WiFi, performance immediately returns to as expected.
Any ideas?

Just tried that.
Fast.com reported download speed of 500mbps
I was able to download an app at an appropriate speed
It seems to be only Facebook and Instagram that are still showing the issue -- extremely slow load times.
Both work as expected on LTE.

Android System Web Viewer did take forever to update while we set the phone up. I'll see if I can roll that back.
I don't have any issues with any of my other android devices on my router - but I'll also check IPV6 settings.

Those two apps still wildly underperforming on wifi.

I guess that means it's a problem with the router settings. Not sure how.

Bringing back zombie thread.
Was a fix found?
My 20+ is having problems with wifi slowing to a crawl after just a few minutes.
Just bought a new router TP-Link AX11000 and it started so I thought it was the router but everything else on wifi in the house gets expected speeds my two 20+'s not so. I think it has to do with WIFI 6. If I stay within 10ft of the router everything is fine after that... I go in my bedroom 30ft away and have -63dbm signal strength and I can run a speed test and get 500mbps down try again and it will start at 500 and slow to around 45 try a 3rd time and and I barely get 4mbps 4th time and it's 0 with signal strength still at -63 on all of the test in the bedroom my upload will be 45mbps.
after a lot of testing with battery settings and things on the phone found out that my slow wifi was due to 2 settings on the router.
first in your router disable WMM, this made my s20+ use like 30mbps max in my case. now list my wifi 5ghz as +800mbps
seconds, disable ipv6 on the router. this made my phone ultra slow to everything. like play store hang on app updates, google drive take forever to load every single photo, like is taking forever to get the first reply from the server.
with that changed now the phone works at full speed on wifi. play store updates are shocking fast.
so lame that a flagship that cost nearly 1 thousand dollars have to disable things externally to work properly. no other phone or device works bad with the previous config of WMM or IPv6. I have a Linksys WRT1900ACS.
Hope they fix it with a software upgrade.
