I just got a Note 10 Plus today and put Action Launcher on it. I've been using AL for years.
On my S9+, occasionally AL would be killed by the system and reload when I exited an app, maybe a few times a week. It was annoying, but manageable.
On the Note 10+, its almost constant. I can't open one or two apps, even after a reboot without it happening. When it reloads, all widgets stop working until I restart the phone, or force restart Action Launcher.
I turned off battery optimization for AL, set the memory manager to not check it, it's not set to sleep when not in use. Any ideas? A launcher reloading on a phone this powerful seems very abnormal.

firstly ,
my experience with launchers ,
I've been using my preferred launcher "Nova Prime " for many years on my Note devices .
Never ever, had a issue with system "killing" the launcher ...that includes my Note 9+ .
I have only" testdrived " other launchers eg ... Action Launcher etc , a few times in the past .
That was a couple of years back .
Also never had any issues with my device "killing " a launcher .
That said ,the point i'm trying to make is that the Note 10+ device should not "kill " you launcher in general !!!
Maybe you should experiment a bit further ,maybe test Action launcher on a friends Note 10+ and check results.?
Look at possible " suspects" that could be responsible for it .?
It could be another favorite app you got installed, that responsible for it eg a battery app ?? or maybe Service Provider's spam responsible that killing it ?
It could be that you normally disable/freeze , certain system app ,that has a knock on effect ,
try another launcher to test effect ... etc
Bottom line is ..
that your Note 9+ /10+ device should not kill a launcher
Unless it badly coded or you have not turned of battery optimization.....? otherwise not ....!
If you still confused /frustrated ,then maybe you should factory reset your device and only install Action Launcher or some other launcher ( first/only)...
..no other 3rd party apps .... to see what happens .?
good luck

First off, I searched for a solution for this problem but wasn't lucky. Sorry if this post isn't new/useful for anyone.
I'm using GO Launcher EX and I'm quite happy with it but a few days ago I had the following problem: after rebooting, the launcher kept restarting if I opened an app too early. Thinking that the launcher simply needs more time for initialization I just waited one or two minutes and the issue was solved. But today it kept restarting every two to three minutes even though I didn't start any app. It's probably RAM related i.e. because of low memory available the launcher gets killed by the OS etc. but that's just my assumption.
Solution: in settings go to advanced settings and activate the system persistent mode. That's it
I was having the same problems.Anyway i'm using holo launcher now.

@leodasal2: did you have the same problem?

Hi Guys!

Fix
Hello,
Try go launcher ex v4.17
Hi, I just bought this phone a couple of days ago and I have a few problems.
First of all, I am using Lawnchair Launcher because I couldn't deal with having only 4 apps on a row but I don't think this influence my problems. The problems that bother me are that any clock widget I try to use always remains behind the in-built clock on the notification bar while the alarms seem to show random times. I have to point out that I tried about 6 or 7 different ones and they all end up doing this.
The second problem is that I installed Navbar Apps because having a white navigation bar in almost every app is annoying and I wanted it black. However, if I don't let it stay open in the task manager ( or whatever is called the thing where you see all recent opened apps ) it stops working. Furthermore when I open the app it says "Detection of running apps is disabled.", I press Enable, the phone takes me to the Accessibility settings but the app is already enabled. I already tried to change the battery settings and in the Installed Apps settings but it doesn't change anything. I hope somebody smarter can enlighten me.
Thanks and have a great day!
Hello.
When screen timeout and I double tap on it, it turns on, but the app that was opened prior timeout is no longer on screen, usually it shows launcher instead.
This doesn't happen when phone gets locked (aka when lock screen shows), or when screen wakes up when phone picked up (motion sensor)
Has anyone else experienced this behaviour and/or could pinpoint what's causing this?
I have a 975F still running on pie, and yes, it behaves as you describe
I've tried disable Nova launcher and all Good Lock modules, at first it seem to fixed it, but later the issue returned.

Saw your post and tested double tap to wake .
Firstly ,
switch off and also let it time out .
Works fine, opens /shows ,screen where i last was.
eg .if i was in settings ..it opens in settings or if in file explorer it opens , correctly .
(Wherever , i last left it )
I have a N975F ,Android 10 .
Feb security patch .Stock ROM .
No root etc ..
I have Nova prime ,as default launcher ,
I have Good lock modules installed eg Lockstar ,QUICKSTAR etc .
Good luck
I have a N9750 running Android 10 and my experience is the same as willcor's post above. What device and Android version are you using?
It must be some kind of app interference. After I went rampage and disable almost all downloaded apps it fixed the issue and even after re-enabling them the issue didn't return. Perhaps the apps stay inactive after they were re-enabled until it was launched?
Using unlocked N10+ SM-N975U1 with latest Android 10 N975U1UES3BTB3
Does anyone else get intermittent freezing where the entire phone becomes unresponsive for like 30 seconds? It's not affecting any specific apps, but it does seem to happen often when I'm pressing the home or back button on the navigation bar. Also happens when pressing send in messaging apps. Sometimes it results in ANR, other times it will unfreeze without giving a crash dialog.
Could it possibly be tied to battery optimization and putting apps in deep sleep? I've had this problem on both my Note 10+ and S20 Ultra. Did not have an issue on my Note 8.
Steps taken to remedy situation (but did not fix the problem):
Factory reset
Clear partition cache
Running phone in safe mode (worked, but did not help with determining exact problem)
Setting battery settings to High Performance
Wiping app caches
Stopped using SwiftKey (but still seeing crashes on Samsung Keyboard and Gboard)
Unchecked "Put unused apps to sleep"
Unchecked "Adaptive Battery" setting
YES. This has been happening to me for 6 months now and its trying me crazy. On my ATT Note 20 Ultra. Even after factory reset it eventually came back. I feel like its a hardware problem to be honest because it seems to happy when the CPU or Memory is overloaded or working hard. For example, 2 times I can make it happen is when I update 10+ apps from the playstore and try to do anything else, or when I first turn on my phone and its launching all the startup apps.
Not sure what to do, maybe get a replacement from Samsung or ATT? Just hate having to format yet again.
On thing that did help is yesterday I bought the cloud version of Samsung Package Disabler (i bought these thing like 4 times over the years but thats another story) and I disabled 50 apps that I dont need to run but I dont like the hassle of uninstalling and then reinstalling and the passwords etc. Anyways it def has lessened the issue. Which again is why I think its a hardware problem. Since I lessened the apps running in the background it has lessened the issue.
Anyways if you have any updates on your end please let me know, thanks!
My phone keeps asking me to reselect my home app. The only home apps installed are Nova 7 and the stock app. I can live with this, but it's a nuisance. Suggestions?
I have the same issue after using the launcher without any issues for two years. The annoyance started with one of the latest nova updates.
I have to tell NovalLauncher 7 to be my default launcher over 10 times a day. All the usual re-install, clear cache, "make it the default through the settings menu" things don't fix it.
Look at this post!
Nova Launcher Loses Default Status On Reboot
The thread title says it all. This is driving me absolutely insane. On reboot, probably about 70% to 80% of the time, OnePlus launcher gets magically put on default status over Nova on reboot. The same problem would occasionally happen on my 8...
