Wile browsing net the battery drain from 100% to 90 % in ten minutes :crying:
I really begin to hate this tab
My tab is tag s 8.4 lte
I have really great battery life with my tab s. Can you screenshot and post your battery stats? Its in settings, general, battery. That can also tell you have much battery is draining from certain apps. I installed a custom ROM with debloated apps and I get about 11 hours of battery life. It could be some background/user installed apps that could be draining your battery. I would suggest deleting apps you don't need and disable preinstalled apps that you don't use. Hope this helps!

Which ROM do you use for such great battery life? Mine's really poor but I don't think the warranty will cover a replacement. Considering rooting and ROMing, but I want to keep the multiwindow so I'm not sure what my best option is at the moment?
I get fantastic battery life with my tab. I use it pretty frequently and have never been below half battery the two months I have had it. I charge it every night though and it is the 8.4 wifi only version so I'm not sure how much battery life differs on the lte model although I'm sure it uses more juice (the lte model). Overall my battery life is phenomenal though, especially with the sky high kernel
My T800 is not bad either. Its not iPad Air battery efficient but pretty good nonetheless. I'm getting about 6.5 minutes for every 1% while web surfing, email, etc; higher if just watching movies with the wifi off. I also picked up an Anker E5 battery as a back up so battery life is really a non issue for me now.
I had very bad battery life on my tab, similar to yours. I sent mine to the service center (**** experience from the one in singapore). They opened up my tab and reconnected the mainboard to the battery and it is better now although i am still monitoring it. I just got it back yesterday.

My battery life was pretty bad also until I turned down the brightness. With this type of screen it will drain your battery if you have it at full brightness. Even having the brightness at 50% it still looks really nice.
I don't have any problems with my battery life. Lasts an entire day of heavy use and sometimes 2 if I don't use it as much.
last device i buy from samsung! bad battery life bad bluetooth connection hardly can connect my bose soundlink headphones, and the most annoying thing is the wifi sometimes it doesn't connect and sometimes it shows an established connection but no internet nothing can connect to the network!
i bought it 4 days ago and will gonna sell it online since there is no return policy at samsung shop in dubai
best thing is to buy a nexus 7 like i did for my son.

Everything works fine for my tab s 10.5 inch. And I got mines from Walmart...
I'm at 15% and got 8h23 SOT. Surely will hit 9h mark I assume.
4G enabled but mostly wifi, volte, Bluetooth. Watched 2 series, was on the Internet all day and some Internet radio on high quality. So no compromises.
Haven't had this much battery life with any smartphone, flagship Sony, galaxy s7 edge and oneplus 3t recently.
Anyone else have this? Didn't expect this at all..
Edit: almost 10h SOT short a few minutes. Added screenshots to show.
Yes, this is normal for this device. I'm sorry for your inconvenience. Since you're dutch, you can read this for more information on batterylife.
Well yea, will need to send it back!
"battery life too good"
Yes, it is amazing and it is normal. It seems Samsung finally put some effort into the optimization.
Samsung has nailed it this time

Mine gets as high as 4.5-5 hours of sot. 2G, full reception, data off, BT off, sync off, occasional Wifi usage, Facebook crap disabled and AOD on. quite disappointing.
Is this normal sot...after 3 days of use?

I think so, 52hrs of standby time also takes some batterylife. So.... Did u also use always on display?
No...I dont use always on display. And my sot i about 7h after 2/3 days.

I hit the mark of 1 day and 19 hours with the first half charge, right after unboxing... Although it seems it won't repeat as my previsions are for 22 hours with 80%... Anynway, very good battery life
Look at this stats . Wifi +sync +4g allways on.
Best device i ever had regarding battery life
Battery life is simply amazing on this device... with Nougat
All sync on, wifi, BT and so on.. google services such as location history and assistant...
After 2d 4h 45m on battery and 7h 21m screen on I still have 23% battery left !
Samsung made a mistake in the design specifications of the 2017 series. They currently use a battery that uses a low-radioactive component that is superior to the standard battery but it has not been tested for the long term. just kidding It's not only the A5 also the A3 shows this kind of battery stats. Battery usage with GPS (not including wifi/cell location) is also very good from my experience with A3. But have noticed that after a week or so the battery will go down faster but am not so sure because of irregular use of chat apps running that receive messages frequently.
I'm on Marshmallow. I like to know how Nougat does in comparison
Is there still anyone who get these kind of stats in nougat? I got 6h of sot and I'm at 12%. Is this normal? Also, I woke at 17% (didn't discharge a single % overnight) but it dropped to 12% only by using fb, samsung default browser and settings...

I get similar, seems MM had bettery battery life.
Yes, A7 is champion in terms of battery life.
That's weird my A5 just got the Oreo update and now the battery drains faster than before... When I check the device maintenance I can see cell standby consumption is higher than the screen. I wiped all the data and cache, reset factory, restet network settings, disabled sync, location... and the issue remains. I don't know what to do to solve the issue and am afraid they're not going to take the problem seriously if I send it back to samsung... Anyone can relate?
It is not in a single charge but that's what I get. The stamina is still correct though so idk if it is more like a display problem or if it does show the real consumption and so the battery should last way longer.
As the title says... is there something wrong with my battery? I got abysmal SOT of 4hr35min on mobile/cellular data only (No WiFi). Bluetooth OFF, WQHD+, location OFF, dark mode OFF, brigtness 40% or less, Samsung Cloud, Google Photos & Google One back up & sync - all OFF,. Bixby home, bixby wake up, literally everything bixby related OFF. Wake to lift OFF, smart stay OFF. Optimized battery settings, exceptions to optimize made on gmail, whatsapp, instagram. Everything else on optimization. AoD - always on, dynamic background on home screen - yes.
Exynos
Also worth noting - after fully charging the phone, I went from 100% to 98% in like 3 minutes. I also went from 5% to 0% in a couple of minutes.
Is there something wrong with my battery? Surely 4 hrs 35min shouldn't be a norm, not even on cellular data only.
I am also having a same screen on time. My screen resolution is set to wqhd+ always, is that the reason for this? I have heard normally other guys are getting a 6 hours SOT.
Same here, hope they will fix it in one UI 2.0
Exynos or snapdragon variant ?

Exynos has worse battery life.
I also have Exynos, but 4hr and 35mins on mobile data? Are you kiddin me? That surely isn't right...
Wish someone else could chip in with maybe some info... is the battery even right or should I seek replacement lol
Exynos device from my sister, bone stock. Nothing debloated or what so ever.

If the battery consumption is so high using cellular data and not with wifi, it is probably due to signal strenght, when the phone seeks the better signal, depending on your network prefernces, switches between 2g/3g/4g lte, thus using more battery, where I live, there is always high fluctuation in signal strenght, with my note 8, the batt drained faster than normal because of this, in my case I found that locking in 3g gave me better batt life, so, with my note10+ I just knew what to do, and now my batt life is good, 7~8 hrs SOT, and little more than 20hrs idle, btw, there are already some posts regarding this topic, there you will find many useful tips/advices

I keep performance mode on, 4g on all the time, max resolution and use it a lot during the day as I am a heavy user. I bought the note last week and I have managed to have minimum 7 hours screen on time which for me is fantastic as none of my previous phones could handle me that long. The max i got on the note 10+ is around 10 hours Screen on time. My version however is not the Exynos one but the Snapdragon and usually the Snapdragon proccesor manages the battery better than the Exynos one even if this year they are really close

Everybody knows that the Samsung devices with SD are wayyyy better on battery than the exynos ones. The most sot which my sister was able to produce, was around 7h. Good enough for a day, but not great for that much €. My 400€ K20Pro clocks in at around 10h...

I have also the same issue... with full usage the phone barely get to 6hr of battery,, and the note 9 with SD with the same usage go to 1 day and 30% to the next day..
4.5 hrs is normal i guess. i get 5 hrs on wifi

UPDATE!
First of all, I did a factory reset. Then, I did 100% do 0% and then charged the phone while OFF to 100% again and other time I did 100% to 0% and charged it while turning it on after couple %.
I also disabled EVERYTHING Bixby related AND I disabled Facebook running in the background.
The result are in, aaaaaaand.....
MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT!
I am now getting at least 7hrs 30mins with 70%/30% wifi/mobile data usage.
On WiFi Only, I can now get EASILY 9 hours SoT
See screenshots - #1 & #2 showing 7hrs 30mins wifi/mobile data. Screenshot #3 WiFi only, 8hrs 10mins WITH 22% battery to spare! So, easily 9 hrs SoT...
Hi everyone!
I'm relatively new to this forum... I've lurked for a lot of time, and posted something years ago.
I'm back because I need to ask a question to people who already have the S20 in their hands: is the S20's battery better than the S10e's one?
Sorry, I know it's a pretty generic question... but I don't know very much about phone tech.
I'm talking about the Exynos variant, but even comments about the Snapdragon one would be appreciated!
Thank you for your attention, guys!

I'm not very interested in the 120 refresh rate to be honest, I'd be buying it for the camera and for the battery, so I would keep it at 60 hz.
I hope at 60 the battery's better than the S10e's.

I had the S10E. The battery for me has been better trying both 60 and 120 refresh rate. Phone off the charger at 5:30 am. Use all day. 45 min maps and music. Messaging all day. Social Media. 5-6 hours screen time. It is now 8:30 and I'm still at 30%. S10E I would have had to charge on my drive home from work.

That's great news, thanks!
My S10e has a really terrible battery, expecially after the Android 10 update... I have the Exynos version.
I usually start the day with 85% battery (I charge it during the evening while watching a movie, then I spend some time on social media before going to bed), and I arrive at 8:30 pm with less than 40% of battery. The strange thing is that I almost don't use the phone at all during the day. In the morning, I don't use it because I'm at work. In the afternoon, I'm at home, and I use the pc. So I use it very little, but for some reason the battery drains by itself like there's no tomorrow. I don't imagine what would happen if I had to use it during the day for some reason. That's why I wanted to switch to the S20.
Basically, at the moment I arrive at the end of the day with almost your same battery charge, but without having used the phone.
Just resurrecting this thread as I have the same question;
For the Exynos versions, how does the battery life on the S10e running Android 12 compare with the S20 running Android 13? (both at 60Hz screen)
GSMArena battery scores for endurance are 83h (S10e) and 71h (S20) if you use them both for 1 hour of calls, 1 hour of web and 1 hour of video but these scores were with the orignal shipped firmwares.
A lot of reviews of the S20 at the time said it had poor battery life so wondering if the 4,000mAh battery on the S20 is not much better than the 3,100mAh battery on the S10e because of Exynos not being optimised.
Not interested in Snapdragon comparisons as need a dual SIM and only the Exynos version is available here with proper dual SIM support (no eSIM rubbish).
Hello, I got my wife S22 5g, I read about the problems of the first wave from the factory recently, are there still these problems, battery lasts a little, phone frozen, no gps signal, etc.?
She says her battery lasts a day and a bit.
For example, last night he was at work, the phone was removed from charging at 18:00 and today at 09:00 it still has 66%, since he was at work he used the internet a little, so after about 16 hours it has 66 %.
Can I still return it, she says she's happy, should I keep it or return it?
I could wait for s23 but it will be expensive anyway and the first wave will probably be problematic again.
So is it ok now s22 or not?
I have updated to the latest android.
It's OK. You should learn to optimize the performance of Galaxy, which has too many services running. Start by disabling the android update service, as it consumes a lot of power. Stay on the same firmware version until you become proficient and understand how to set up system apps. Don't ask just read.

I'm not happy with my S22. I had a s9+ and the screen separated from the frame so I purchased the S22 because of the trade in value of my S9+. Big mistake. I could have purchased another S9+ for less and it was much better than the S22. Oh well live and learn. Just my opinion.
Other than the android update are there any other recomendations to increase battery life? Also I'd really love to root this phone but it's a US variant.
I disable everything I don't use to try to keep down the battery usage. I'd love to root mine too but I purchased it before I knew the US version can't be rooted. Bummer.
Absolutely not. Don't even bother. In this price range there are so many phones with the exact same or better performance but with miles better battery life. This phone only lasts a day as long as you don't use it at all and let it drain idle.

Size becomes irrelevant when:
a. you have to use a massive battery case
b. you attach a magsafe qi charger that's twice as thick as the phone itself
c. have cables dangling while trying to charge you phone from a non-wireless powerbank
all this to make sure your battery won't die in the middle of the day during moderate use even with having gone through the S22 optimization thread. I knew about the battery issues before buying it as I didn't expect it to be as bad as people were complaining, but they were right and now I'm stuck with it.
I can not return my S22 (base, Exynos), but personally I would glady take the Pixel 7 (same performance, better battery) or Iphone SE 2022 (same battery, miles better performance) or even the Iphone 12 mini. I will be taking route b. and try to find a wireless magsafe powerbank that is as thin as possible and order one of those magsafe rings that I can attach.
