Tap on the three lines in the upper left corner. scroll down till you see "Root Explorer" make sure its toggled on, also tap on the same option you'll see the permissions option. you'll be able to change it from there.

Would've been nice if someone has mentioned it before.
tested with activity launcher or shotcut master, with non rooted phone, when i click in "band selection", i have a "Fail" in bottom on the screen.
Need to select "Network Mode".
Finally with Android 10 update on galaxy note 10 plus in Europe the hidden network settings are searchable again with shortcut master. The problem is again it's only working on the first sim card slot and not on the 2 sim! This is really frustrating does any one have a solution how to be able to at least have lte only on sim slot 2 on Android 10 Samsung devices without root?

The same applies to Android 10 N9750/G975F :good::good::good:
In the description of hiddennetworksetting.apk, the android version is at least 6.0.
I have installed it on samsung s6, android 6.0.1. Does not work. (((
so how do we use these settings...any one have any ideas?
thanks
I am getting fail for selecting a network and band selection. Using a G955U on Visible. Any Ideas on why all options fail?
Personally I wouldn't play around with these settings. I did it a while back on my OnePlus 7 Pro and couldn't remember the default settings. I was without signal for quite a while it was a headache for no real gain or reward.
I have nothing against you, but if you don't know what you're changing, then why are you doing it?
It is difficult to mess things up in these settings, as it is merely an extension of the network modes in regular settings menu. Moreover, they can be reset to default easily.
Practical use can be, how I use it, is to select the lte bands in such a way that in specific location connection to a particular mast can be maintained. E.g. by deselecting B1 my phone remains steadily connected to mast A with CA enabled and high throughput. If I leave B1 on my phone is constantly switching connection between mast A and mast B, resulting in slower connection.

Hi, you can uninstall any don't want using Titanium Backup if your phone is Rooted. I don't think there is a way to do it with a non-Rooted phone., hope this help!
settings --> applications manager --> T-Mobile My Account --> uninstall updates
Once you have done that you go to

Do you really want to disable the app or just rid of it from the notification bar? If so, just long press it in the notification bar till a little menu pops up saying app info. Click on that and then unmark "Show notifications"

The "turn off" button on my Samsung Savant with Android 4.4.2 just worked
The T-Mobile My Account app on my Samsung Savant with Android 4.4.2 was using more battery than any other app. I pressed the turn off button under "settings", "application manager", accepted the warning message that doing so might break things, and it just worked. T-Mobile My Account has not come back when I restarted my phone. (It is not obvious how to turn the app back on, but I have not looked hard.) I can still connect to the T-Mobile network. My phone's battery life seems considerably longer. Battery use when the phone is idle and in airplane mode with the WiFi radio also turned off is now under 0.5% per hour. I did not root my phone. I can check my data usage by placing a call to #WEB# (#932#) now that the app is no longer displaying that information for me. I am -- so far -- delighted with the results of removing this app. I am not an expert on T-Mobile internals-- so I do not know who should expect to have an experience similar to mine.
I had this app disabled in my note 4 & then needed to re-enable it for a day when my alt choice app had a problem until it was updated, now no matter what I do the disable button is greyed out. not rooted & wasn't when it worked the first time. Suggestions?
If you are rooted, then rename the .apk to something else (like ....apk.bak).
Terminal Emuator + NoBloat Free work best for me coz of the "Backup & Uninstall" option. With that i remove all those bloatware apps especially KNOX Files & still back them up thou u can delete permanently .

This worked for my non-rooted Galaxy S6 Edge running 5.1.1. Download Debloater to your PC. Plug in your device from your PC. Select Filter, and type "com.tmobile.pr.mytmobile," or any derivation of the name (i.e., "my"). Select the file and check the box. Click on Apply. You're all set. It is DISABLED and hidden. I watched the icon in the notification bar disappear as soon as I clicked Apply. It hasn't returned. If you need it later, you can uncheck the box and click Apply. For step by step, visit You Tube "Best Debloater Tool for Your Android Device"

Hi XDA members !
I need your help about an issue I encountered on my Optimus G E975.
I'm French, my carrier is Free and I recently activated the 4G (LTE) option proposed in my plan, no problem.
I then wanted to enable the 4G network mode in my stock ROM, here comes the problem !
The LG's ROM only let me choose between 2G, 2G/3G or 3G networks. My phone is compatible, my APN are ok, Free's settings are ok too... So I decided to modify the build.prop file to force the 4G choice. I edited those lines :
- ro.telephony.default_network (changed value from 9 to 10, referring to a Google Code thread)
- telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1 into telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1
I can now choose 2G/3G/4G setting and it seems to be working, but after each reboot, it doesn't stay checked and goes back to "2G/3G".
Can you help me please ?

Well, in any case, this is not a big problem.. You can also enter the secret code which i dont remember now, and force LTE, without any build.prop line. The problem is i dont remember the secret code menu.
EDIT: *#*#4636#*#*. Tap the first option, and scroll down. You will see a list. Tap and select LTE or 4G. Reboot and try if it works.

I have the same problem. The 4G option just wont stick!
I'm on stock 4.1.2 and have not changed anything - had the 4G option from the get go. I also can't access the "secret menu" when typing in *#*#4636#*#* - I'm getting the same error.
Been looking for a solution for days, but nothing. Talked to LG - they suggested to reset the APN and then do a factory restore of the phone if that did not work.
Anybody found a solution?

Hi guys!
It's been a while since my last message here.
Just back to say my problem was solved by a little OTA update which probably brings valid LTE/4G configuration for my carrier (Free).
Today, I'm facing the same problem but on the GEE 3 ROM freshly flashed. Things are progressing but some problems stay the same x).
I'll contact devs about those problems.

i have been trying to discover if we can unlock the american lte frequencies through software only & ran across a thread online which allows u to enable/disable individual bands...i will see if i can hunt down the original post as i wouldnt want to claim the fame if it works for u but try this
!. dial *#0011# which will take u to service mode
2. press the 3-dot menu button then hit back (NOT the hard button)...do this again & u will end up at the main menu
3. choose selection [2] ue setting & information, then [1] setting, followed by [1] protocol , next [2] nas, after that [1] network control
4. finally pick [4] band selection & this will bring u to the page where u want to be...just remember that an asterick means its selected
always use "3 dot menu-back" & NOT the physical buttton...dont forget to press the '"apply band configuration" when you're done & then "menu-end"

Thank for this very useful information, WIND uses AWS, with bands 1700/2100, I selected those frequency when I was in the menu and made sure to press apply band configuration, i restarted the device, but still not registering on WIND network. however now for the first time I see the network signal strength full. Did I miss anything?

The only other thing i can think of would be in "settings-connections-more networks-mobile networks" and choosing network operators which will bring up a list of all available service in the area....it will take about 30 seconds to find them so be patient. U can also try the network mode option in the same menu...the last thing i would suggest is to remove then re-insert the sim and/or try a known working one
preferred_network_mode
Any idea where the list of device available network modes are kept? I remember seeing it (possibly xml or db) somewhere in /system (a very long time ago).
I wish to try and add all available options to a Synapse control and write the preferred (selected ) network mode to:
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases > global > preferred_network_mode xx
Basically require a number that represents each type of network mode for our device. ie
Anyone have any insight ?
Cheers,
UITA

Anyone with MIUI 11 Indonesia fw - Android 10 version got the bluetooth problem?
I have two Redmi Note 8 Pro and both got same bluetooth mac 00:00:46:00:00:01.
anyone?
Have you tried changing the Bluetooth codec settings under developer options? There are a couple other settings there that probably won't change the mac but can't hurt to try?
Seems the nvram data is corrupted.
Lucky the IMEI & wifi mac are intact.
Is there any way to edit this BT mac using SN Writer Tool?
I have a difficulty to find the required database file for SN Write Tools.
Maybe something is corrupted, but on both phones?
Have you tried flashing a different ROM? That would prove if the issue is in the NVRAM data.
I haven't seen any other entries about issues with the mac address on any of the other forums either.

Yeah, strangely on both phones.
I tried Global ROM (was Indonesian ROM) but still the same.
Plus I think there's strange hardware issue when it's left cold on table overnight then I reboot it, it can't detect any SIM till another reboot.
There is an Xposed module that allows you to change it, but I think it won't work on Q. Aside from that, might have to wait for someone else to chime in.

FIXED USING THIS METHOD: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695909
Bluetooth MAC address fix:
1. Using FX File Explorer with Root abilities, navigate to /mnt/vendor/nvdata/APCFG/APRDEB/BT_Addr then copy it to your PC.
2. Then open up the file by using Hex Editor.
3. To fix a static MAC address, just simply type in your MAC address on the first row (0000) from column (00-05). That is what your MAC address should be (Edit both files with the same MAC address). After you have modified it, put it back in the exact location and remember to change permission.
