Anyone with MIUI 11 Indonesia fw - Android 10 version got the bluetooth problem?
I have two Redmi Note 8 Pro and both got same bluetooth mac 00:00:46:00:00:01.
anyone?
Have you tried changing the Bluetooth codec settings under developer options? There are a couple other settings there that probably won't change the mac but can't hurt to try?
Seems the nvram data is corrupted.
Lucky the IMEI & wifi mac are intact.
Is there any way to edit this BT mac using SN Writer Tool?
I have a difficulty to find the required database file for SN Write Tools.
Maybe something is corrupted, but on both phones?
Have you tried flashing a different ROM? That would prove if the issue is in the NVRAM data.
I haven't seen any other entries about issues with the mac address on any of the other forums either.

Yeah, strangely on both phones.
I tried Global ROM (was Indonesian ROM) but still the same.
Plus I think there's strange hardware issue when it's left cold on table overnight then I reboot it, it can't detect any SIM till another reboot.
There is an Xposed module that allows you to change it, but I think it won't work on Q. Aside from that, might have to wait for someone else to chime in.

could you please do me a favor?
enable Second Space then reboot then check the Bluetooth MAC.
seems there's a bug in the Android 10 ver.
also if I enable Dual Apps, there's another bug (present in Poco F1 as well) like in the screenshot, the name of all app is null.

coz Android 9 got no such problem.

FIXED USING THIS METHOD: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695909
Bluetooth MAC address fix:
1. Using FX File Explorer with Root abilities, navigate to /mnt/vendor/nvdata/APCFG/APRDEB/BT_Addr then copy it to your PC.
2. Then open up the file by using Hex Editor.
3. To fix a static MAC address, just simply type in your MAC address on the first row (0000) from column (00-05). That is what your MAC address should be (Edit both files with the same MAC address). After you have modified it, put it back in the exact location and remember to change permission.
Note by me: Use FX Explorer to put the file back to device, it can set the SELinux part correctly & exactly like the original. You only need to match the rw permission with the original permission.
BLUETOOTH MAC OF OUR DEVICE IS 1 number greater than WIFI MAC. So if your wifi mac is 01:01:01:01:01:01, your bluetooth mac should be 01:01:01:01:01:02.

Filesystem
Is there a way to view the file system of the emulator? Some of the original emulator unlocks seemed to have this feature but I haven't been able to find discussion of it with the more recent updates.
Any advice on how to view the root directories?
Is this a full rom with all the features on it ? (phone, xbox, etc)
Windows Phone 7 Emulator Unlocked - can't unzip
I have tried downloading the file, but WinRAR and Windows Explorer both say that the file is corrupt, and I can't unzip it. I have also tried following the directions to unlock it myself, but when I open up my bin file, everything is using the Cyrillic alphabet, so I don't know where to find the changes to make.
Suggestions?

Unfortunately, no. Even the original emulator that was super easy to crack and allowed almost-everything-under-the-sun didn't allow that unfortunately. It sucks because it looks like the new emulator is severely nerfed now where at least I could show off the basic functionality before. I hope MS goes back and gives us a ROM that does a little more 1:1 with a functional device. Not like I'd rather use the emulator than my phone anyway.

Anyway I think WifiDirect is software thing.
Maybe we should check both S8600, Wave M/Y and S8500's .so files controlling Wifi.
Perhaps if we find the .so files we have a chance.
Saludos!
It's what I think too.
All this option activate the wifi direct but the menu does not propose wifi direct.
If we could modify and watch the .so files, I think we could display the wifi direct option.
That's what I'm talking about. From S8600.

I'm using FileSeek to quickly find strings inside every file of the firm.
We could isolate files containing the correct string and compare in both Wave I and Wave III firms.
Mostly, I have only found references to Wifi Direct in .so files and apps_compressed.bin

I've tested a method instead of wifi direct on a galaxy ace and it worked
but there is some problems with wave (which i think its the dolphins problem)
what i've done
we have 2 handsets
1- start Mobile AP on handset 1
2- connect to this AP from handset 2
3- start a wifi file sharing app (like "downloader manager" in bada) on handset 2
4- enter the ip address given by file sharing app to handset 1's internet browser
now you can see all files of handset 2
I think it's dolphins fault cuz i've test a wave 2 and a galaxy ace
when galaxy ace wants to connect me there's no problem
when i want to connect it says "Requested URL not available"
so please someone test with another browser like Voluntas
If you see it so then we had wifi direct since bada 1.0
See this app : http://www.samsungapps.com/topApps/topAppsDetail.as?productId=G00000487533
Sorry because it is paid one
Best Regards
yes it's like the one i said
but i think you didnt understand the problem
when we enter this ip and port to another bada phone on the same network, nothing will be opened but it is ok via pc browsers
so is the problem for dolphin?
WiFi Direct App
There's an bada app used for demonstration of WiFi Direct feature, found source somewhere, can't remember. Here's the source code, if someone has the time feel free to try. It's just the matter of compiling the app with bada SDK.
Hello Guys,
In some offices or college campuses Wifi is available only for authorised users by mac address filtering. So I tried to change my Galaxy y's MAC address to an authorised user's MAC address and it worked.
The main advantage is you dont have to install any specific app [We know SGY has only 190MB of internal].
So I thought to share this method in XDA. If any doubts please may i know in the comments.
So let's begin.......
REQUIREMENTS:
=============
1. Phone must be rooted.
2. Any root explorer. [I use Xplore file manager]
STEPS:
=====
1. Install a root explorer and open it.
2. Under settings select 'mount system as writable' [ie enable root browsing] and also check 'show hidden files'
3. Now navigate to /data/misc and long press the 'wifi' folder inside it.
4. Select 'Permissions' and make sure 'Read' and 'Write' under 'Others' is ticked. If not, tick it.
5. Open 'wifi' folder.
6. Open the '.nvmac.info' file present inside it with a text editor.
7. Clear the MAC Address inside the file and write down the new MAC Address.
8. Press save and close the file.
THAT'S IT. PROCESS COMPLETE......:victory:
You can Verify that the MAC address under wifi settings has changed.
To get back your previous MAC, just reboot your device.
I will be uploading a video tutorial soon.
This is my first thread in xda. Hope its useful. Please may i know if this worked or not in the comments.

Nice to know
Maybe it's stupid, but I'm pissed at the model displayed, mostly when I use other apps or features and show that "M2012..." value, such as plugging the USB to a computer, using Spotify Connect or linking the phone to my TV. There's no trace of that number in build.prop, so I'm asking you how to change it to Poco F3, thanks in advance.

Does the Bluetooth name affect the model name over WiFi or USB? I don't think so, as the Bluetooth name I have isn't "M2012..."
You won't be able to as it probably "embedded" in the phone..
Yo, I found this interesting thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...model-name-additional-steps-required.3559040/
Apparently since Android 6, the Model-name is not only stored in the build.prop, but also in a Database, and apparently you have to set it via a Terminal-app or ADB.

Yeah, I found the same thread a while ago, and
Code:
adb shell settings get global device_name
returns the string I put in build.prop. It seems it's like @lilbrat said: the model is tied to the board or something like that.
While it's easy for ROM developers to change the model from the model number to "POCO F3", why would they bother? Frankly, I think that changing the model from the number to the marketing name would cause more problems than it would solve. Consider these two scenarios:
First, all POCO F3 ROMs are shared with the Redmi K40 and the Mi 11X phones too. If those users installed an OTA update and their phones started saying that they were POCOs instead of Redmi or Mi phones, they would be very off-put by that and maintainers would constantly be asked why their phones were suddenly rebranded.
Second, changing the model number to a value not reported by the stock ROM could actually break or cripple certain apps. For example, HDR playback in Netflix doesn't work if the model number is not the same as the one reported on stock, which is why the model on OnePlus 7 series custom ROMs was changed from their marketing name to the actual model number, even if it looks uglier. See this LineageOS commit.
Even though the having the model in Settings being the actual model number instead of a fancy name might seem off putting you, it's such a minor inconvenience that you should just ignore it, even if it looks ugly. Or just build a custom ROM and change the model number yourself.

You can change the model name by using a magisk command like,
Bash:
resetprop ro.product.model "favorite model name"
or a magisk module when you like.
As far as I know, there is no issue with respect to this change for your purpose.

It works, but it resets when you reboot the phone.
At least Pixel Experience sets the value to "Google Pixel 6", who is a more decent name than the generic "M2012K11AG".
Again, it might be a stupid issue, but I bought a Poco F3, not a M2012.

You can make a shell script for putting into "/data/adb/service.d" (Magisk's general batch use). Or make a magisk module having only "system.prop" with a Magisk module structure.
Hi,
So I am running stock android unrooted.
I have managed to run Kali Linux in a emulated version on my fold called Termux.
I can work on it as I would on a PC. Many things are lacking but I installed what was lacking.
So my question is can I do the same with windows ?
I looked on playstore and couldn't find any kind of VMware for android devices.
Does anyone know of a VM like software for android ?
I would rather play my steam games on the mobile then run about playing with Aircrack.

The Limbo Emulator would be cool assuming it works ok. My obvious concern is that the bluetooth and more importantly wifi would not function. I will be interested to hear results if anyone give it a try.
Ok I am willing to give this a try. I have installed the Limbo Emulator - but I have questions on how to create the needed windows 10 VHD file - I know I have everything I need to do it , including the windows 10 ISO file. Anyone point me to how to create a proper VHD file? I assume it needs to be bootable and all that but I have found nothing via google that I'm convinced is what I need to do.

Also if anyone has tried this for fold 4 does everything work ?
