Best battery efficient rom - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Can anyone please tell which is the most battery efficient ROM running pie version?

In my experience both AOSiP Pie and Lineage OS Pie gave better battery life than any other. The AOSiP has almost all features, but LOS is almost a feature-less ROM, only a few extra things here and there. Still AOSiP gave good battery than LOS.

I tried Lineage OS, it wasn't that good at battery optimization. Will try AOSiP and see. thanks for the reply

Which ROM to go with?

As all of you know there is types of ROMs for this device like RR, LOS, OOS, DirtyUnicorns and many more.
I'm leaving OOS for now due to low customization chances and I'd like to ask your opinions about all these ROM's. There is a LOT of Q&A threads about the right ROM but none of those matched my requirements.
First of all ,the most important and the reason I wiped OOS, the fingerprint unlock should be as fast as OOS. Of course there should be good battery life and performance duo which is impossible to find together.
But the most important ones are customizations and fingerprint unlock speed.
Thanks in advance for helping me out.
I have the same problem to decide, because so many possibilities make decision difficult.
If you want features, features, features and customization Resurrection Remix is the best, you get everything. With the unofficial versions you get some extras like battery optimization and kernel optimization etc. I don't know, how good this is. I only have a short look at the features.
Dirty Unicorns hasn't as much features as RR, but enough for most people. I don't know, how good performance and battery life is. Only have a short look at it.
At the moment I use LineAge OS with sultanxda kernel, it has great battery life and camera should be great, people write, I don't test it really
But it's only LineAge with LineAge features, nothing more. Enough for me, if I am honest, but if you want to customize everything, take Resurrection Remix.
There are many other nice ROMs, but they have the same or fewer features than Resurrection Remix. Here and there some optimizations, other kernels etc. I don't see anything special. Perhaps someone can tell us more.
There are so many ROMs like crDroid, LegendRom, Vertex, AOSP, Phoenix, DarkRom, AICIP, AOKP, Omni, Slim and million more. I test some and watch videos about, but it all has typical features like Resurrection remix has. I think, they are optimized for battery or performance and things like that. Would be nice to have a good comparision, because you can't see the trees in the forest

That decision is very personal, I bought OP3 2 months ago and since day one flashed like 25 roms, now I'm very happy on Phoenix AEX. All I need, no more.
My method was like this, downloaded almost all the ROMs, flashed with basic gapps, make no config at all and just go and see the personalization options, basic for me is center clock, tiles layout, button mapper. No option for that? Next ROM, at the end, with the ROMs I kept, flashed again with basic configs (no custom kernel, akt, tweaks, etc) and tested 2 or 3 days to see the performance, stability and battery life.

Aicp vs jaguar vs rr

Which Rom is best for our device... Aicp or jaguar or RR...
So far from the comments i understand aicp is the most stable and gives the highest battery standby but lacks frequent updates or support from the developer... Jaguar gives high performance but low standby.. Need to activate af wall... Webview manually and best support and updates from the developer....
Rr has some bugs but good for customization....
This is my personal feedback...
Please comment your thoughts too so that we can conclude the best rom for our device.....
Aex so far
But now that official viper is coming, let's see what will happen
Go for AICP or Jaguar. Im currently using AICP.
Sent from my Z2 Plus using XDA Labs
I think AICP is the best.
I have been using AICP since 2 months and its the rom, which I felt like I should not change, you can make a lot of customization in it.
Official Viper!
Has ota, insane customization, extremely stability, INSANE benchmark scores and amazing battery life at the same time!!!
Seriously, you need to try this ROM!!!
I had never heard of it either before I tried... Never switching again
Benchmarks at oneplus territory... OnePlus owners watch out!
P.S. I had stuttering issues with resurrection remix, hence switched ?
Bro tell me how u get that much score
Bro I am running on viper os 3.1coral 2017/10/16 .but my scores are very low 3d is only 35k and geekbench to very low.i am on stock viper kernel
Jaguar Wins, more stable in my opinion
Jaguar, AEX 4.6, AEX 5.0 best ROMs
Aex and Jaguar
RR is the best and stable
I'm using RR since 3months, Even though it is discontinued. It has good battery and performance.
Its the stable rom according to me.
I have tried Viper and AICP before.
Thanks.

Recommend to me a good Oreo rom

Hey guys
I previously owned a Redmi Note 3 and flashed so many roms on that phone.
Now i just got a Redmi Note 5 Pro. Unlocked it. But currently I am very busy with assignments and don't have a lot of time.
So i can't keep flashing rom every few days.
Please recommend me a good Oreo rom. It should ideally not lag and have no random reboots. Basically I just want to flash and forget for a few months until Pie roms get very stable.
Thanks to all for their help.

Lineage OS 15.1 will be the best choice. Most stable & best battery life & no lag at all. Always go for lineage os official rom over others.

Bro listen! Lineage os is most widely used custom rom in the world. Your device has official lineage os 15.1. So you should flash it & see if you're happy with it. Only customizations not present in los. After that you can try any other rom you want.

"Bro listen" - This does not sound like suggestion, rather like a command. What is good for you does not really mean that it will be for someone else. For example, on devices I have used, RN5 included, pure AOSP roms performed better than Cyanogenmod/LineageOS ones. They have been smoother and better in battery life.
Just because something is official it doesn't translate to a better than everything else, MIUI is an official rom from Xiaomi yet some releases were a bug fest.
I've tried LOS/RR and than jumped to AOSiP Oreo, that's close to pure AOSP but with additional useful features and it has been more stable, smoother and more battery friendly than LOS/RR and overall performance was consistent. In combination with Insigniux/Derp kernel it's great.
I've seen reports of MSM as great one as well, so that can be considered as well.
Anyway you'll have to try different rom and kernel combinations to see what works for you.

Exactly.
Although I can understand why some newer members are just dazzled by the "official" tag especially in context of LOS.
I especially dislike LOS because of lack of so many useful features. Why should I need to use xposed and 10 modules to get those features when I have root and recovery and I can simply flash a feature rich aosp rom.

Ok. I apologise if i gave someone wrong suggestion. But i was telling from my experience as for me los official always works great with no single bug till now. What i've seen is people sometimes complain a lot about problems in other new roms. So i was saying in that way. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll flash aosip with derp kernel.
One question tho. I want an oreo rom with battery life similar to miui 9.6. can you suggest me that rom? Miui 9.6 is giving me 12 hrs & 13 minutes of screen on time. Thanks in advance.

No need to apologise to me, since your post wasn't directed to me. You didn't suggest anything wrong, but the way you suggested it was a bit wrong. Anyway, AOSiP is a clean rom with good features and a default Derp kernel is great for battery life, I have had up to 14h of SOT (that depends on usage of course) but as far as I remember it was never below 10h.

Question Lineage vs crDroid

I've been pretty out of it for the past basically half a decade so I'm a bit out of the loop as far as the newer roms. But from what I can tell for what I want Lineage seems to be the best custom rom. A nice clean AOSP experience with improvements. To tell the truth I would probably just stick with Oxygen OS if it weren't such a ***** to perform updates while rooted. That said, crDroid is Lineage + some more improvements. So, what do you guys think? Does crDroid add enough value to justify it over just getting Lineage? What are some of your favorite crDroid features that Lineage lacks? (for those that prefer it) And what are some of the things crDroid does/has that Lineage doesn't that you *don't* like? (For those that prefer Lineage)
Thanks for the opinions, will really help me make my choice.
What do you mean pain in the ass to update while rooted?
Nothing is changed. You only restore boot image, update, install root to inactive slot, reboot.

What i've learned since years of root/unlocking bootloader/flashing roms is that you should also considering a rom depending on who's maintening it. A good maintener will provide a more stable rom and frequent updates.

LineageOS as a firmware is tried and true and very stable, but doesnt innovate a lot, it's meant to be a solid clean base. crDroid has been pushing a lot of new features but might be less stable. The maintainers there seem to be actively trying to do a lot.

I mean crDroid has some a lot of features but it's nothing compared to features of RR, which is pretty stable. What I'm saying is that RR is still pretty stable with all those features, so you shouldn't worry about stability with crDroid.

Custom kernel may be better than stock kernel. Built-in Gapps are often more stable than any other flashable Gapps.
I'd recommend to try crDroid by yourself and if it doesn't fit your usage, then switch to lineage. Never try, never know.

And I thought RR was long dead.
Crdroid is 100 percent stable right now and running flawlessly on my TMobile variant. I haven't seen battery life this good since my 6t either! This is with the kernel that comes with crdroid, didn't tweak any settings in kernel app.
For the record I was nowhere near this good of battery on oos I was maybe getting 3 to 3 and a half hours of sot for 50 percent battery. Crdroid kicks the crap out of that.

Bro I think you've been found victim to the power of branding. Under no shape or form was Resurrection Remix ever better than CrDroid. A cooler boot splash logo, but that's about it.
And why is this a gentleman even comparing this to lineage? CrDroid IS lineage, with way way more features, slightly better performance.
Dumb thread.

I would apologize but it's kind of not my fault that you're illiterate. You should try learning how to read before you bother posting such idiotic responses. I literally said in my OP that crDroid is Lineage + extra features. The purpose of this topic is for me to decide whether or not I CARE about those features enough to pick crDroid over Lineage in the first place.
Truly hope you learn how to read before you post stupid comments in the future mate. Good luck.
To everyone else, thanks for your replies. Very helpful. Would still like to get some examples of things fans of crDroid like that's in crDroid but not in Lineage if possible.

I understand you're upset that you created a dumb thread. Everyone knows most ROMs are usually a lineage base. Lineage is very stripped down. Almost any custom ROM is probably technically better than lineage because it has more useful features.
And no that's not what you said originally in your first post. You probably went back and edited it.
How about we don't look too far/read into posts and be friends?

Question Best custom ROM?

Been trying to figure this out for a while now. I want a ROM with comparable performance, features, and battery life to that of OOS.

Best is subjective because everyone has a different taste. the best thing is if you look at the roms that are available for the 9p yourself and test them
I've tried quite a few times, and am currently on Nameless A13. A lot of features from OOS haven't been ported just yet, but A12 Nameless had quite a few things there. Don't know if you'll ever get a full OOS experience on any of the custom roms.
As far as performance and battery life, Nameless has been the best. Far better than OOS 12 or 13. Customization varies between roms with CRDroid seeming to have the most customizations. I just prefer Nameless because it seems the most close to stock it terms of interface, without all the bloat. It's all preference though. If you want stability, A12 roms are probably your answer for now until the 13 roms catch up. But if you want the latest and greatest, you could try a 13 custom rom.
In my opinion, better A12.1 is ancient os and better A13 tequila os.

Tequila is great! I just prefer Nameless because of the default OP camera and seems to have more support and updates
Oc....nameless is great, but battery Life is worst than tequila to me.
Oss cam are great but with gcam and a good config file i take better pics than oss cam.
I was on CrDroid since I bought phone in summer. After trying OOS13 beta I went back to CrDroid but I had issues with fingerprint since then. Whenever I needed it I had to restart phone to get it work.
Now I am on Nameless since A13 and I can recommend it. No issues with it whatsoever.

it got the best of pixel features, while retaining oneplus specific features that we love.
Tried Nameless 13 when it was released, but downgrade cuz A13 still a bit buggy.
