As all of you know there is types of ROMs for this device like RR, LOS, OOS, DirtyUnicorns and many more.
I'm leaving OOS for now due to low customization chances and I'd like to ask your opinions about all these ROM's. There is a LOT of Q&A threads about the right ROM but none of those matched my requirements.
First of all ,the most important and the reason I wiped OOS, the fingerprint unlock should be as fast as OOS. Of course there should be good battery life and performance duo which is impossible to find together.
But the most important ones are customizations and fingerprint unlock speed.
Thanks in advance for helping me out.
I have the same problem to decide, because so many possibilities make decision difficult.
If you want features, features, features and customization Resurrection Remix is the best, you get everything. With the unofficial versions you get some extras like battery optimization and kernel optimization etc. I don't know, how good this is. I only have a short look at the features.
Dirty Unicorns hasn't as much features as RR, but enough for most people. I don't know, how good performance and battery life is. Only have a short look at it.
At the moment I use LineAge OS with sultanxda kernel, it has great battery life and camera should be great, people write, I don't test it really
But it's only LineAge with LineAge features, nothing more. Enough for me, if I am honest, but if you want to customize everything, take Resurrection Remix.
There are many other nice ROMs, but they have the same or fewer features than Resurrection Remix. Here and there some optimizations, other kernels etc. I don't see anything special. Perhaps someone can tell us more.
There are so many ROMs like crDroid, LegendRom, Vertex, AOSP, Phoenix, DarkRom, AICIP, AOKP, Omni, Slim and million more. I test some and watch videos about, but it all has typical features like Resurrection remix has. I think, they are optimized for battery or performance and things like that. Would be nice to have a good comparision, because you can't see the trees in the forest

That decision is very personal, I bought OP3 2 months ago and since day one flashed like 25 roms, now I'm very happy on Phoenix AEX. All I need, no more.
My method was like this, downloaded almost all the ROMs, flashed with basic gapps, make no config at all and just go and see the personalization options, basic for me is center clock, tiles layout, button mapper. No option for that? Next ROM, at the end, with the ROMs I kept, flashed again with basic configs (no custom kernel, akt, tweaks, etc) and tested 2 or 3 days to see the performance, stability and battery life.

Hi, since my warranty is about to expire, I wanted to update my i9195 to newer android. Which one of CM versions is recommended for a stable daily driver at the moment? Is it even worth upgrading from stock 4.4.2?
Purely theoretically based on the features (permissions, Doze) I would go for CM13 but I haven't found any thread that would compare battery usage with CM12.1. Also I'm concerned a bit about bugs in CM13 like display wakeup delay on lock screen. I also found in the threads quite a few bugs for CM12.1.
I would say try both, for a week or two. If you make a backup first, nothing to worry about!
I use exodus 6.0.1 as a daily driver, it is stable, and has some extra features that cm is missing. Before the MM version of exodus has been introduced I used cm13, and I can say it's pretty stable, no bugs I can mention. It's up to you which rom you use, just always make a backup before!
ps: Unfortunately Doze doesn't work on s4 mini, due to lack of sensors, battery life is the same on cm12/13
Which specific features do you use that are not included in CM? Is there any difference between CM and exodus stability-wise? Can you comment on battery life of CM12/13 compared to stock?
I can't give you a specific answer since I haven't used cm for half a year now. CM is, in my opinion, pretty basic. Exodus has an extra menu in settings, with some features like Interface, hardware, rom controls, layers etc. You can apply layers, which are similar to themes. In stability, I would vote for exodus, but had no problem with cm either, other than some random reboots. I also like the small animations they made, or the blurry background of the power menu.
I can't compare the battery life, switched to custom rom two years ago. This models battery is pretty bad, gets instabil at 15%. Mostly I can use it for 1 day, maximum two.
Still encourage you, to try it yourself. If you don't like it, flash another, or do a rollback
Post it own opinion
so for the usual "this month's" question...i suggest freedom ce and experience os. tho each of them have their own quirk, but it's stable. maybe the issues's with me, but some custom rom really have some daily usage/stability problem like dialer app crashing or alarm not ringing while they list the rom as "bugs free". obviously i have not tried all the roms or done extensive performance testing on them, so this is just my opinion.

I personally don't use OOS since ages because of the terrible android system drain I got back then. Not sure how it is now but I basically fell in love with VertexOS. VertexOS has been the stablest rom I have tried. Even the Testbuilds on the Slack channel are really stable. The dev definitely knows what he is doing and is putting blood sweat and tears into optimizing the rom. if you are looking for a stable minimalistic rom, with great peformance and decent battery life Vertex is the way to go.
You can basically never go wrong with a Sultan rom
I sugest Sultans Nougat build(if you want theming through Substratum use Matssas builds, for me it was just as stable). Other then that AOSPA, although I sugest you wait for the next build since high idle drain is a known issue.
Both Sultan and AOSPA is known for high quality camera by custom rom standard.
Phoenix aex is the best right now. Best performance and battery life without any modifications
Go with ...Phoenix AOSP ?
Yep, Phoenix AES.
Sultanxda lineage OS is working perfectly.
Have tried RR, Phoenix, Freedom and a couple of more.. Loved all of them to be honest.. But felt experience lite was the best of them..
Yup.. Just a personal opinion..
try Paranoid Android, tons of features, great battery life and (ALMOST) bug free and stable, but keep in mind that OxygenOS or OxygenOS based roms have the most stability ...
Using freedom os + bluspark kernel + akt hawkpepper! Moderate use but too much of voice and duo calls! This combo is perfect one
And full day wifi on! Plus when not using wifi, 4G was on!
I've personally been using vertex for a few weeks now with a gapp prop tailored just to my liking for adding in just stuff I want and debloating of things I never use to clear up wasted space and absolutely love the current setup. Minimal, battery friendly, and zero issues with stability.

I don't have time to test every single rom so I want to ask the people on here what they think is the most stable rom. I don't really care about features I just wanna know which one has the best battery life, less bugs etc.

Yes stock was ok but I am asking for the custom ROMs
I settled on SAOSP after many weeks of testing many different ROMs. Seems best to me, combined with EX kernel
ABC-Rom, no bugs, stock feeling:

paranoidandroid ROM is awesome!
PureNexus or PixelROM
You could also look at Carbon Rom or Tesla (other GZR Roms are available ) or AospExtended or Slim
Then you have the Lineage based ones such as crDroid
I prefer the ones which are true to the Nexus look rather than Pixel Wannabes. But that's the beauty of the old Nexus phones that it very much whatever floats your boat.
@tactical bacon: that's, why 'best rom'-threads are unwanted here. Finally you get a complete list of all settled ROM.
Features and base are given in each OP. Battery-life depends on your usage.
PureNexus. Great team, solid ROM, nice features, quick updates, and very helpful thread.
Hey guys
I previously owned a Redmi Note 3 and flashed so many roms on that phone.
Now i just got a Redmi Note 5 Pro. Unlocked it. But currently I am very busy with assignments and don't have a lot of time.
So i can't keep flashing rom every few days.
Please recommend me a good Oreo rom. It should ideally not lag and have no random reboots. Basically I just want to flash and forget for a few months until Pie roms get very stable.
Thanks to all for their help.

Go for RR it's best so far in my opinion. Good bb ,no lags,no encryption ghost and of course edge gestures work really smooth on this rom.

Lineage OS 15.1 will be the best choice. Most stable & best battery life & no lag at all. Always go for lineage os official rom over others.

Bro listen! Lineage os is most widely used custom rom in the world. Your device has official lineage os 15.1. So you should flash it & see if you're happy with it. Only customizations not present in los. After that you can try any other rom you want.

"Bro listen" - This does not sound like suggestion, rather like a command. What is good for you does not really mean that it will be for someone else. For example, on devices I have used, RN5 included, pure AOSP roms performed better than Cyanogenmod/LineageOS ones. They have been smoother and better in battery life.
Just because something is official it doesn't translate to a better than everything else, MIUI is an official rom from Xiaomi yet some releases were a bug fest.
I've tried LOS/RR and than jumped to AOSiP Oreo, that's close to pure AOSP but with additional useful features and it has been more stable, smoother and more battery friendly than LOS/RR and overall performance was consistent. In combination with Insigniux/Derp kernel it's great.
I've seen reports of MSM as great one as well, so that can be considered as well.
Anyway you'll have to try different rom and kernel combinations to see what works for you.

Exactly.
Although I can understand why some newer members are just dazzled by the "official" tag especially in context of LOS.
I especially dislike LOS because of lack of so many useful features. Why should I need to use xposed and 10 modules to get those features when I have root and recovery and I can simply flash a feature rich aosp rom.

Ok. I apologise if i gave someone wrong suggestion. But i was telling from my experience as for me los official always works great with no single bug till now. What i've seen is people sometimes complain a lot about problems in other new roms. So i was saying in that way. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll flash aosip with derp kernel.
One question tho. I want an oreo rom with battery life similar to miui 9.6. can you suggest me that rom? Miui 9.6 is giving me 12 hrs & 13 minutes of screen on time. Thanks in advance.

No need to apologise to me, since your post wasn't directed to me. You didn't suggest anything wrong, but the way you suggested it was a bit wrong. Anyway, AOSiP is a clean rom with good features and a default Derp kernel is great for battery life, I have had up to 14h of SOT (that depends on usage of course) but as far as I remember it was never below 10h.

Guys your reviews on Pixel Experience VS AOSP Extended
Pixel Experience - https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3830197
AOSP Extended - https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/aospextended-rom-v6-0-t3866161
Note: Just want to get out from MIUI and use pie rom with no root(magisk) and mods (use as stock)...
(I don't have to time to test each rom (so don't say test yourself), I have short listed these two, so please give suggestions between these two)
Aex 6.1
I used PE for over month, its good but sometime its buggy, battery and performance is not as good as on miui eu rom which I recently switched to, but from my testing pie ROMs Pixel experience is most stable
Resurrection remix is the best.
Using Pixel Experience for almost 2 days now. All I can say is its really stable even with magisk and some modules.
So, yes, we could say try this two and make your own opinion ? plus, as my friend above said Resurrection remix last rom looks promising. Maybe I should give a try...
Cheers
There is no "better" rom here. You are comparing apples and oranges. PE is simple, fast, without any customisation or fancy tricks. AOSP has a ****load of customisation but dont know about stability. I personally dont care about gimmicks like internet speed in statusbar etc., So i use PE and dont have anything negative to say. It works great.
