I have such a strange problem, I have never encountered anything similar before - well, in the summer I bought a used Redmi Note 5 4/64, buying it I only knew about it that it is blocked by a Mi account, after removing the lock (thanks to Xiaomi Support <3) I quickly understood why the phone had the bootloader unlocked from the beginning - the phone comes from China, it had Miui 9 global, after blocking BL and uploading miui 10 global you can guess what happened a moment later, that's when I found out where the phone came from xD
It may not be that important, but I am writing so that you know more or less how much this phone has gone through, and now to the point - in its current state it is practically unusable, no matter if I am installing the official Miui, a custom Pixel Expierience type, Havoc etc., even changing the kernel does not change anything, the phone lags mercilessly, every now and again it hangs even when navigating the interface itself, and when I turn on some app of the Play store type, sir, I will prepare the tea before it all moves, and it happened almost all the time - even the first system startup after a fresh installation looks like this, and I wrote "cannon" because for unknown reasons (and this is the strangest part) after turning it off for a few days and after these few days of trying again to install Miui everything started walking as lively as it should, zero lags, cuts, everything is beautiful, but by the time. It's been about two weeks and all these problems have returned, even TWRP thinks for a long time before anything happens, someone can meet something like that?
To be honest, I have no ideas for this phone, it doesn't heat up, you can't see anything wrong with it, but 90% of the time it goes worse than Moto G3, I never believed in such things, but is it possible for it to happen to some physical damage to some components, and that's where all this comes from? Or maybe these Chinese versions work badly with systems other than Chinese? Because beyond general efficiency, everything else works as it should, camera, speaker, screen, etc.
And one more thing - every custom rom based on Android Pie installs in TWRP for half an hour, it goes very slowly, I don't know if it should be like that.

I tried everything, I changed the system many times, I tried MIUI 9, 10, 11, each of them works just as badly, today I installed Havoc 2.9 and the phone works relatively well, still not quite as it should, but it is simply possible to use. I still care about working MIUI the most, but every version hangs on the Setup Wizard, I tried the global and CN versions, I still have no idea why it does not work correctly.
Pixel Experience also works, but only for the first few minutes, then problems with google play etc. start, Havoc is the first system that can be used on this phone, but again, I just want to use MIUI

Have You done exactly FORMAT data? Not just wipe and install other system
Because if yes, u can have hardware problems and u should go to spec.
I can say more, that my old redmi 3s half year ago was fast response, now without any changes, only ring!( Because i gave it for my dad ) is lagging as hell, even adding some mods like FDE.AI don't help much
Can you please run some kind of internal memory read/write test using Andro Bech and post the results ?

That is a absolutely TERRIBLE score. That"s no suprise that your phone is barely working. There is something wrong with hardware.
As suggesed. Try replugging internals of your phone
If no go, then the only way is to replace the motherboard (as i haven"t seen a guide go completely erase the partition table and rebuild it)

Hi,
History:
I have a problem with my Nexus. It randomly reboots. Nothing seems to help.
It started after a few months after I was rooted on CyanogenMod 10.0. In 3 days, it quickly escalated to a reboot every 10 minutes on average.
A factory reset (without user apps installed on it) on CynogenMod reduced the frequency (every hour?), but didn't eliminate it.
Unrooting to stock Jellybean 4.1.2 seemed fine only in the first week. The problem came back afterwards, and updating to JB 4.2.1 didn't help.
Now, 2 months on stock ROM, I get even more random times. Sometimes it is 2 times a day, sometimes once a week.
Just before it:
I get a metallic screeching noise for 1-2 seconds, and immediately following that, device turns off with a "pang". Although these days I HAVE had situations that the sound came for up to 3 seconds (and the screen freezes), but the phone worked normally afterwards.
What happens:
It randomly reboots. The rebooting is at irregular intervals, whatever i was doing on it (even when not using it).
What happens after:
It takes much, much longer to startup again. It can get stuck at the "Google" logo screen for up to 5min. It doesn't take this long to reboot if I shut it down myself.
Any ideas? What causes this? Is it software or hardware?
Can I even send it for warranty if I cannot reproduce the problem?
I don't want to send it to warranty if I don't have to. I don't want to loose my phone for I don't know how long.
Hi, what's your eMMC version? Maybe buggy memory, try looking at other threads.

I'm new to this eMMC thing, but according to an app my eMMC Type is V3U00M. To check whether it is buggy or not it needs root, which I don't currently have. If it IS buggy, I don't have a choice but to bring it for warranty right?
No, I have not tried to changed batteries. I don't have other batteries. But can the problem really lie with the battery? Btw, my phone is less than 8 months old.

Well, try waranty, that chip is buggy. Mine too )) but I just live with it using lagfix app and discard mount options, but things requires root. Good luck.

Well, I am planning to root again. I want to switch back to CyanogenMod 10.1. Lagfix app isn't needed if you can use -discard mount option right? How to use either, if let's say I'm on CyanogenMod. This is also the first time I hear of lagfix and discard mount... :/
Btw, the app i used to check my eMMC Type said that my chip is ok. No brickbug. Are you sure it's buggy?

I might be wrong here, but from what I've read at the link and other xda posts (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029246), the V3U00M chip is not buggy (in the sense that it's stable for rooting and using the -discard command), but it does give slowdowns. I do have horrible slowdowns, so thanks for that solution I didn't know existed. However, this doesn't solve my random reboot problem at all...
No one else got any solid way to find out the source of the problem?

Same as you man...
I'm seriously considering throwing my phone to the garbage. I don't like iPhones, but google is really pushing me into it with this crappy piece of phone. Is so frustrating to have these rebooting issues, I've tried everything, from wipe to factory reset, back to stock, flash custom ROMS and KERNELS, turning location access off, uninstalling all apps/widgets that might interfere, and every single "solution" it's out there, and STILL I'M HAVING THESE DAMN REBOOTS!
Now it's even worse, I can't even transfer files to my phone anymore because, guess what... IT REBOOTS! everytime I transfer ANY KIND of file.
The only thing that seems to work for a while is reformatting and start from scratch. I've done that like 3 times already. But still after a few weeks the issue reapears... i'm really mad about this, and no one seems to care. Not Google and not even Samsung.
The only interesting thing that i found around the internet is this guy's findings
plus.google.com/113601948978986762347/posts/2ALASEC1dG2
I read the log on my phone and matches to his... but now the thing is, what do i do with this information? I'm not a programmer o something like that.
Any ideas?
I think your board is faulty. Even so, have you tried disabling SR and raising voltages across the board? Trimming eMMC? Omapflash?

He is saying that you have root you need to install trickster mod from the play store. Open the app and go to specific. Then disable the smart reflex toggles and click the oké button in the upper right corner see if that works. If it doesnt re enable smart reflex and go tot MPU voltages. Next to the words MPU voltages there is a blue plus/minus button. Click that and click the plus one time. Accept it and push again the oke button. The other two things I dont exactly know..

Honestly, if you are getting reboots on a clean stock (including stock kernel) , it's probably a hardware issue.

I'm still searching around for those other things beekay201 mentioned earlier. I found that Omap Flash is a tool for flash roms in binary mode, so that way you can unbrick some phones. Still trying to find out how that can be useful for my case (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242330)

The thing is that after a clean stock install everything works fine for a week or two, that means no random reboots, and i can transfer any kind of file of any size with no problem. Then for some estrange reason (even with no crazy apps installed) starts with a random reboot, after that first reboot i know is time and that i wont be able to transfer files anymore, because it WILL reboot while i'm transfering files. Other thing i have noticed is that around where the camera lens is, get really hot. So I think that the reason it reboots is kernel panic caused by overheating, or the other thing is that my sdcard have some issues when writing files.
Right now i'm using CyanogenMod 10.0.0-maguro with jelly bean 4.1.2 and franco.kernel 3.0.51-nightly-512GPU and i have already tried going back to stock.
how can a I check if my hardware is fine? Is there any app out there?
Thanks!

512GPU? You mean your GPU is overclocked? Maybe try to set your GPU to stock. And if it gets really hot and you have random reboots you can try to over volt with trickster mod.

No, I don't think my GPU is overclocked, that's the full name of the kernel, you say that the kernel automatically puts my GPU to 512?. Anyways i just installed that kernel two days ago just because i thought it might make the reboots go away. I'm having rebooting problems since february (just after upgrading to 4.2.1), so i don't think that the GPU is causing the reboots.

Hi, so i've been using the Oneplus 5T for a year and just recently it started having issues with lag, making the phone unusable. I tried installing different roms without success(Oxygen OS Open Beta 23, Lineage OS 16, and Oxygen OS 5.1.4) and i have no idea what is causing it. This issue began while i was on the OOS beta 23 and it wasn't rooted, it just started behaving that way suddenly i didn't drop it or anything, also the screen blinks and start doing weird things sometimes. Did anyone had this issue? And what can be causing it? Thanks
Link to a video of my problem: https://youtu.be/17LOiftTf8w
Found the issue. Apparently it's caused by google play services, if i clear the data of the app the phone works fine and as soon as i install something from the store it starts lagging again
I always have this issue after finishing a clean setup on oxygen os beta. One restart for me solves and never returns.

If you find a solution please let me know i ran out of ideas my fix with the play services stopped working, thanks
What the hell is that lag issue seriously ??
I was thinking to flash a custom kernel and ROM but would it solve the issue ?
And the issue is completely random as well.
I have the exact same issue. Starts when i download something from playstore, open camera after a while or transfer big files e.g transferring data through oneplus switch. I have tried everything i could and didnt help. Upgrades, downgrades, root, trimming storage, clearing cache etc. Nothing is helping. If anyone finds a solution please tell me too. Really frustrated ?
The problem occured on official ROM but it comes back even on Lineage OS 16 (official too).
Do you think it could be a hardware issue ? If not, how come this problem happens even when flashing an other ROM ?

I had the same issue 2 months ago, I tried everything to fix the problem even did hard reset using oneplus' official program and it didn't work.
I came to a conclusion that it's a hardware issue so I sent my phone to repair and one week later I got my phone back fixed.
I recommend you to do the same if you still have warranty, the whole process took only one week. The customer service is really good.

I don't know what did they replace I didn't get any information about that. The screen is the same though they didn't change it, my guesses are either it's the motherboard or the motherboard to screen connector (it's called main flex I think, you can get on for about 3$)
-The story -
So I bought my mi mix 2 off swappa used and it was pretty much mint condition. When I received it it was on latest miui 11 global locked bootloader no root.. All worked fine for about three weeks. I ended up buying windows 10, again, which made me throw up a lil in my mouth. I did this so that I could use the mi unlock tool to unlock my bootloader. The java Linux tool no longer works to unlock if you use Linux so rn kinda forced to buy Windows. So I unlocked bootloader and then installed twrp and made a backup like I do with every phone since Android began. I then flashed HAVOC 3.1 using latest twrp recovery. I quickly realized my speaker decided to stop working in the earpiece soon after that. I ran some tests using apps and the earpiece speaker works, but NOT in a call. :crying:
-The problem I'm having in detail-
When I make a call to anyone they can hear me but I can hear NOTHING at all. Not low volume, but no sound whatsoever. If I switch to speaker phone however I can hear them and they can hear me fine. The top speaker that doesn't work during calls works when I tested it but refuses to work while on any call.
So naturally I Google searched the world for a few days hoping to find a fix. Then I thought maybe it was my recovery, maybe it was firmware I used, maybe it's a rom bug...etc...etc... I never proved it to be any of the things I thought it could be. I've installed other roms and I get the same thing with them. I've tried other firmware and same deal. I've disabled encryption, used magisk and not used magisk... Anyway, you get the picture.
Would anyone happen to know something I can do to fix this? I read some people touch up where top speaker is during a call ..That didn't work. ? I did 29 reboots and that did nothing. I checked the ear piece and cleaned what I could and that did nothing. I've wiped several different ways and used orange fox recovery and twrp different versions of both and that did nothing.
Please someone who's smart chime in and tell me I'm dumb and all I have to do is xyz and I can hear again from the earpiece on calls. Can it be a defective speaker? If so why does the speaker work fine on anything but NOT when making a call? Can it still be a defective speaker?
I did read TONS of reports of sound issues on Xiaomi devices across the board. That didn't make me smile much.. Anyway any advice or thoughts or anything would sure be extremely helpful and I'd forever be grateful. I hope you all have a good day and your speaker never acts stupid like mine is on my phone.

Try the latest version of Havoc 3.0, not 3.1. my device also has an unspeakable error on the call of messenger with most of the android 10 rom, i can hear the voice of the other side, but they can't hear me, after trying a lot of android 10 rom, i found only havoc os 3.0 is not making that error. Though it's not your fault, I think you should try it.

Mine is I can't hear them but they can bear me. What the hell is going on. Hahaha! If all else fails I'm going to get a new top receiver speaker put in at a shop close by. It does appear that many Xiaomi devices have had sound issues and have had speakers replaced. If you search on YouTube Xiaomi no sound on call or speaker replacement you'll see MANY videos on "how to." Quite a few videos specifically for mi mix 2. They should let us upgrade at least to the mix 2s for free.
I'll try 3.0 havoc but I've flashed around on Android 10 and 9 and problem hasn't gone away. Still zero sound on my end on calls but all speakers work doing anything else. Appreciate the recommendation. Thanks for commenting. Later today's ill flash 3.0 and see what's up. Then I may pull a few kernels from other roms and switch em out with whatever I'm on and see if I can't get something going that way.
I will also post a log of me on the phone talking and maybe someone can see something that's wrong... Hope so anyway..

I never thought that my sound issue was related to havoc in any way I am almost positive its a broken speaker. Looks as though that type of thing happens often on this device and other xiaomi devices. Google search receiver speaker replacement really fast and watch how many things show up about it. Its all over. I'm going to get a replacement. Using my moto g7 power rn as my main phone so I can have conversations and hear on my end. I always clean flash everything I flash. I never fail to wipe data, system, cache, delik cache on any install.
I have the same problem after installing Havoc 3.1. I tried updating the firmware...and rolling back the firmware to 9.5.16 to no avail

This is just too strange. So maybe my issue does have something to do with installing Havoc 3.1. That was the first rom I flashed after I unlocked my bootloader and speaker worked fine on latest MIUI Global rom before... I wonder if it's possible to break a speaker due to a rom installation? I've never heard of that before. I thought surely it was just the rom and was a bug or a firmware problem. I flashed all kinda firmwares afterwards in latest twrp and also sideloaded a few to see if maybe something wasn't right with recovery and like you say it did not change anything at all. I still get zero sound on my receiver speaker while on a call.
I'm going to try a few more things and see if it does anything. If I find a fix or something that allows me to hear anything at all out of my end on receiver speaker I'll most definitely add it here in a post and to the op. Seems like there would be more people than us if it had something to do with Havoc... Idk. Appreciate your information. I hope we can get this fixed soon. I never even hardly used my phone when the speaker worked. ? I bought it used off swappa and about two weeks later unlocked and flashed Havoc and no sound during calls on my end.
Did you flash magisk also? Maybe that caused the problem...
I'm using Google phone but have also tried the stock Android phone as well as a couple of different versions of firmware. If no solution emerges I'm going to disassemble the phone and see if the earpiece has lost connection

I used an app off Google play store to test speakers and my receiver speaker works but refuses to work during a call on my end. It did have sound come through loud and clear when I ran the tests I did when it first happened. I've flashed using magisk stable, canary, formatted data, used different firmwares, everything know to mankind and searched around and tried several things online and nothing. I've been trying to boot the Android 10 GSIs to see if that makes any difference but have had no luck using the same vendor and boot everyone used on pie GSIs so I snatched some from different roms and still no luck on GSIs that are Android 10. Lemme find link to test all i used and I'll return and post a link. Brb

I doubt it and I did make a post there a while back about it. There are many others there ok that thread who reported sound issues and I wanted to confirm what for sure caused it before I put the blame all on a rom... The speakers on this device have had issues MANY times based on all the reports i read all over the internet. But if I can confirm exactly what it is I'll dang sure be very open about it online and let the world know in hopes that if it was something I did maybe someone else won't and I can somehow prevent it. But I did make a post there when it occurred. Search my username on the thread and you'll see it.
When you set a ringtone does sound come from your top speaker? On my device it does. Just curious. See if you can hear any sound selecting different ringtones. ?

I did find some info about pixel users who had this problem, in that case the problem was caused by file association issues with the phone app and Google play services. Some people were able to fix by removing the permissions of Google play services. I tried this approach but many of the permissions cannot be disabled

On my other device , Moto G7 Power see the 8th post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g7-power/development/rom-havoc-os-3-2-t4058987

I suspect FW issue. Started not using top speaker after SW update. 10.0.6 When I receive a call and press the volume button, the 'earpiece' icon bar appear. I suspect the phone switch the sound to the 'earpiece' even if there is no earpiece. I even switched Bluetooth off, and still happens. The phone thinks there is a earpiece/headset connected even if there is none. I think Xiaomi Mi devs should post a solution or update. The issue is wide spread.
[edit 17Jul20]
OK, it happened again today. No sound from top speaker when making or receiving calls. Had to switch to speaker phone. Then I cleared the 'Contact and dialer' app cache memory. (And for good measure the other caller and dailer apps also. TOP SPEAKER CAME ALIVE AGAIN!! So I am pretty sure its a bug/memory issue.
What I did: Long press the dailer icon - tap on App info - press 'Clear data' icon and select to clear chache memory.

What's crazy is this happened on my device just after I wiped data, system cache and flashed HAVOC which was the first rom that I flashed when I got this device. And I flashed my firmware and it did nothing at all. I'm getting a another speaker from eBay this week. They're only like $3 US. Gonna replace it and see what happens. ?
This question is probably repetitive but I'm really curious if the stock ROM on the Samsung A70 is better than the custom roms?
I've had this phone for a couple months and I have stuck with the stock ROM and now I want to try some custom ROM maybe lineage. So how is the performance of the phone on other ROMs?
I've been running LOS 17.1 for a few weeks now. Tried it with gapps, and now without gapps.
I think that it is purely a matter of personal opinion, and nobody can tell you how much you will like any option. But, for me, I am really liking LOS without gapps. My battery life is drastically improved. I mean that it is easily lasting 2 full days between charges, as opposed to one day and my usage hasn't changed.
But there are compromises. For example, a gappless system isn't always giving notifactions immediately. I have no option at all to add fingerprints (not bothered though, never used them anyway). Downloading apps isn't always as easy as just opening play store.
Sometimes, especially after a call, my screen is black but is on. I have to manually turn screen off, then on again. And then there is a lag of unlocking the screen, just very unresponsive for a few seconds. That's the only time it happens.
The only way that you will know is to try it and compare for yourself to see which you prefer, and if the tradeoffs are worth it

The camera only reports as 8MP. But again, this doesn't matter to me as I'm not a photographer.
TWRP can't always decrypt files stored in System, but I don't mess with the system files anyway. Some have this issue, some don't. Not sure why, it seems to be a random glitch.
My phone is my only phone. Unlocking bootloader, flashing TWRP recovery and then the ROM was worrying, but went very smoothly. Switching from stock to LOS was like having a completely different phone in my hands. It felt brand new and I had to go through setting it up and learning how to get the best from it again.
I honestly think that the only way to know if it will suit you is to give it a try as we all use our devices differently. It is easy enough to go back to stock ROM using Odin if you don't like it. Just make sure that you have everything backed up first.
Hey guys i am having very much lagging problem in my phone. After my current miui virsion is miui 13.0.3.0 stable version.. can i claim warranty on this problem!!? I have bought my phone recently. Thnx in advance.
Hello,
If the phone has defects, the warranty should be taken into account. On the other hand, if the phone works well, especially the hardware, I think that sending it under warranty is not necessarily the right solution. Have you reset your phone since installing your update to MIUI 13?
Bill
i'm having the same problem, i see that very often the system start to lag when it have about 1GB of free ram. Then the camera slow down and the launcher sometimes crash. Closing all the app frees only some 100s MB, the only way is reboot the phone. I'm thinking about moving to xiaomi.eu rom
Definitely warranty. It's a phone. It has electronics inside. Just RMA the phone.
Mine does not have any lag, freeze, issue. It's the most stable, long-lasting phone I ever used.
The only "issue" I ever saw/had is the lack of OIS on the camera, but that's 100% hardware. Xiaomi loves saving pennies on camera all the time. (See Xiaomi 11T Pro)
Ps.: I've tried stock, Xiaomi EU Stable and Weekly; all with ram boost enabled and disabled. No lag whatsoever.

In a German forum someone could solve this problem by turning off that 2 GB memory extension in settings (turning it off is a good idea anyway).

When I saw that option turned on I disabled it immediately. No luck, still lagging
Some users on 4pda reported similar problems.
The solution - do not use custom themes, only pre-installed.
Classic/Boundless.

Deepl.com translate:
"Can be happy with the phone today, holds 86% by the end of the day, nothing hangs and camera instantly on. Delete all the themes except for two "Classic" and "Boundless". I have Boundless, the phone does not recognize, but the other day I already wanted to throw it away for his stupidity. To understand - I have a phone so consumed the charge that the car when the navigator mode, he discharged even with the charging cord, and if you turn on the camera while the navigator, you have to wait for about 15 seconds. In short, I just realized for myself - it's crooked theme it so stupid!"

I totally agree.
I had the same problem. What I did is reset the camera app settings and set it to autostart(saw it in a video) which fixed camera lag issue to some extent. Also there is an option to schedule shutting down of device, so I scheduled it to turn off and turn on in a couple of minutes just before my alarm goes off in the morning. The phone runs smooth like butter throughout the day!
