Please Help, where is adb sideload on 7T?
thx
That was depreciated. The system update happens in /Settings/System these days because of Project Treble
If you need to sideload a build that bad I recommend using one of the Fastboot flashable ROMs

Hi,
This morning, i've installed the latest official Cyanogenmod 14.1 ROM with latest official CM Recovery. It's working but I don't like it and I want to reinstall the stock rom but everytime I try to flash the stock recovery, my OP3 don't boot. I always need to reflash the cm recovery. So i tried to flash via the CM recovery the latest official rom from OnePlus Website via sideload but it don't want. I'm OEM Unlocked and I have activate the USB debuging options. But in old versions of CM, we needed to uncheck a setting in Developpers options to flash another recovery but this options is missing in this version.
Can someone help me ?
I've had access to cyanogen if I need to do something in android and all the fastboot/adb commands are responding.
You need to flash the latest twrp from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224394867 and then you can flash anything you want, don't flash any other twrp, it won't work.

another thing you can do is install oss from the link below, its the official link and it replaces the recovery with stock recovery (atleast in case of twrp) and if you want to stay with twrp you can install the modified twrp.
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3/oneplus_3_oxygenos_3.2.6/
Thanks guys for this help ! I've done my sideload via TWRP and it's fonctionnal. Have a nice day !

In fastboot mode fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename Then you should have twrp back. (of course you need to have the twrp zip file on your computer)

I tried to Flash the recovery and it worked but the thing is that i cant seem to boot on TWRP.
I think that it Became Locked When i removed TWRP
So is there a way to unlock it again without anything but fastboot?
You can install boot.img via fastboot method
After that you can flash twrp in recovery mode
You should get an unpacked stock image of the system, boot and recovery partition (if you need that, I can provide one); then, you’ll have to flash every partition you need to recover with fastboot.
Ok. Guys my mandatory 720hrs of waiting will be up in a week. So can anyone guide me regarding flashing twrp on this device in a permanent fashion. I intend to stay on the current miui10.8.20 latest beta as I find it perfectly useable, however I do wanna use gcam ( plz guide on that as well). And one last thing, can I update to any latest official beta available through ota. ( Will it relock my device?) Or will I only lose twrp which I persume I can flash again.
Xiaomi phones have a real typical root method. I am not new to rooting at all but kindly help me through this.
One last thing.. any recommendations for miui based custom ROMs?
My device is the global variant of note 5.
Flashing twrp : put your device in fastboot mode and enter these fastboot commands
fastboot boot twrp.img
Now copy twrp.img to internal storage
From twrp recovery install twrp.img this will permanently flash twrp recovery
Follow google camera mod thread
Yes you can flash OTA update using twrp recovery and it won't lock bootloader
Just flash magisk for rooting

Have you rooted your device?
Hey all,
i had an older version of twrp recovery, and tried to flash the new one from here:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/dumpling/
i opened poweshell from adb folder as usual while device is on fastboot mode, and used the command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-dumpling.img
It said "wrting...finished" in powshelll, but when entered recovery - nada, black screen of death.
then i tried flashing older version of twrp in the same way - and still go the same outcome =\
I currenly dont have ROM as well - so practically the phone is uselss. please guys, i need you're help!
Flash stock recovery and stock FW via ADB. If that doesn't work, try one of the dozen recovery tools on this forum.
Tried to flash OrangeFox and BluSpark recoveries, same issue =\
im running out of ideas here guys =(
Just managed to install stock recovery, and downloaded latest 9.0.10 OTA from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-7-2-7-1-1-ota-t3709265
used LAA on adb.exe, and ran "adb sideload OOS.zip" while OTA zip is inside adb folder.
gives me "cannot read" error in powershell.
can someone tell me WTF is going on? how tf its even possible????
Hi all,
I have recently shifted from Samsung A52S to Onpelus 9 PRO.
I'm now a bit confused about flashing method....
I mean :
on Samsung devices, you have to use ODIN ( that is a Fastboot replacement tool ) in order to flash the TWRP and then, on TWRP, you can freely flash any new custom ROM or any other img files, by simply press "INSTALL" button instad of ADB sideload commands.
If I well understood, in order to flash this custom ROM, I have to do that through Fastboot commands before and through TWRP ADB sideload commands after......
My question is : may I flash boot.img / vendor_boot.img / dtbo.img and ROM zip directly through TWRP "INSTALL" button instead ???
If not, can someone kindly explain which is the reason why ?
Sorry for this noob question but I'm doing my first step into Oneplus and I don't want to do a mess.....
Many thanks for the help !
I personally been wanting to know why we no longer can simply flash custom roms via TWRP like we use to. I do believe its got to do with the way the A/B partition works however that does not really answers why we can't just flash via TWRP. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the answer so I am interested too on why we can't simply flash custom roms in TWRP and have to resort in sideloading or via fastboot. I would think flashing via a zip in TWRP will have less user errors compare to using a command line to do your flashing.
Saying that, I have been flashing via fastboot since I got this phone and even though its a longer process, it only takes a few more minutes.
twrp is not even fully adapted for android 12 or 13 (but who needs twrp anymore?)
I prefer to flash via fastbootd
(is less work for me)
best way is the magisk install

twrp is still the only way to backup the whole rom
it exist a non official version for 12/13
TWRP is the best tool to recover files when the OS does not boot. Since there is no ROM or kernel out there that recommend or uses TWRP for flashing. There is little reason to use TWRP unless is for file recovery. This is in respective to OP 9.
