Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Global Version Bricked - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi, I want to tell you that I am desperate.
I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro recently, and in less than 48 of normal use (I am a normal user), the phone was locked on the "Redmi" start screen.
How did this happen? I was using the Facebook application and the screen went blank. After 30 minutes in this state, I decided to press the power button to turn it off, but that is not possible, it always restarts and stays on the "Redmi" screen.
Reading and informing me, I tried to put the phone in FastBoot mode, and I can do it, but I am not able to flash a ROM due to the "Current Account is not bound to this device" error.
When the phone worked, I never entered the configuration to unlock the bootloader, and now that the phone is inaccessible I don't know what else to do.
Please can you help me with this problem?
TIA

Maybe I don't fully understand what you mean by that, please could you explain it to me?
I bought it from a seller in Argentina.
It's Global Version, I could check it by entering the IMEI number on the xiaomi website.

You mean, in the phone settings?
I can not access! The phone does not start, I used it less than two days and in that period I did not know the importance of doing that.

Please, can anyone tell me if it is possible to save the phone or should I throw it in the trash?

Why don't you just enter recovery mode and do a factory restore?you don't specify if you tried that

Flashing to global stable rom Mi Mix 2 with locked bootloader

There are many threads with users with the same problem: you can`t flash in recovery because of you locked bootloader, EDL is not working anymore, and the English PC suite is too old. So I downloaded the chinese version of PC Suite:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/MiFlash/MiInst.exe
And the full OTA ROM of global-Stable http://en.miui.com/download-334.html
Save it on your pc to access for later.
Boot your Mi Mix 2 in recovery:
Press and hold Power and Volume+, until Mi logo appears, release the buttons and a picture of a phone with cable appears.
Then connect it to the computer, en WITH THE SHIFT KEY PRESSED!, click to this:
Screenshot 1: http://imgur.com/riGFBtd
Browse to the rom file you downloaded, en click on the button (I think it is Flash, but I cannot read chinese)
Then it wil flash! It will take about 45 minutes:
Screenshot 2: http://imgur.com/GsBUy2h
Then is should boot to global stable.
Screenshot 3: http://imgur.com/sG4bENR
Update:1
Use an usb2 port, and not an usb3 if your flashing fails.
Update 2
Remember after flashing finished enter recovery mode and wipe data otherwise you will get Mi logo loop screen.
I tried this and now I have a brick. Stuck on the MI screen. Any ideas? Anyone know how to recover from this state? BL is locked. Thanks!

Yes that's correct and without unlocking bootloader, only one things not ok with this method ,after flashing global you can choose only one region China not all countries present in region list. which is ok nothing depends on this region selection, but if you want all regions its good to unlock bootloader and flash with the guide using fastboot method.

When you select correct rom, and popup appearing you should see no red but blue Chinese text (see attached screen) above and 3 other black texts below hit the upper one and process will go,
if you see red text it means the rom you selected can't be flashed on your device. usualy latest 8.5.1.0 can be flashed and latest 8.5.7.0 Chinese, other roms giving red error row. which says you need to unlock your bootloader.
I seem to be having issues on the very last step. I global rom package is verified (i see some green text) and it allows me to flash it. BUT once i press the button it immediately takes me to the screen in the link. I used the image option on the google translate app and it says something to the effect of "brush failed, please try again"'
The top button is retry, the lower one is cancel. The weird thing is, the screen on the phone changes from the recovery screen showing a phone being plugged in to one with a small loading bar and the words "Updating MIUI. dont reboot the device". That only goes away when i hit the retry button.
I could have settled for the global rom instead of flashing to the eu one once my bootloader is unlocked (30 hours to go) but if i cant get your help then eu ROM may be my only option.
EDIT:
Disregard, despite saying the flash failed i left it alone for half an hour and came back and it turned out it had flashed anyway

Hi @thezenith
im having exactly the same problem, but the 0% doesn't go away.
I have a Chinese error red text adb.exe below the progression bar...

I have the same issue. I'm currently stuck in a bootloop since the dev ROM crashes after I select the china region. I want to flash the global stable but get the previous errors

I am in the same boat. No idea what the adb error is.
I ended up taking the back cover off and doing a test point method to flash the global rom with a locked bootloader from the china ROM. Works fine now but didn't really enjoy it

I'm trying this method and got as far as flashing screen with 0%, red writting underneath in chinese. Not sure if it's working or not, any tips please.
Quick question
how to check which Rom I am running (global or Chinese, dev or not)

Unbrick RN 8 PRO (China/Global) without Miflash

Hello everyone, This post is about how to unbrick your Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Sorry for my bad English
A couple of months ago, at the start of sales, I bought myself a Redmi Note 8 Pro, deciding to flash it on a global version, I bricked it, at that time no one knew how to fix it, I decided that it couldn’t be fixed anymore, I bought another phone and left Redmi Note 8 Pro on the shelf, and now a couple of weeks ago I decided to turn it on and see if I could fix it and it turned on! first the vibration starts and then highlighted a white Redmi logo, after that the phone showed that it is charging and I decided to go into a fastboot mode and he booted up! I flashed a boot.img and recovery from my Miui version that i was using before bricking phone (in my case it was from miui 10.4.5)and the phone turned on! none of my data was deleted.
So what you need to do:
1. After bricking your phone, do not try to charge it!
Leave somewhere for a 3-5 days to discharge your phone
2. Put your phone in charge after leaving your phone for a 3-5 days, if your phone boot up as usually (No logo and no image, only black screen) then leave it for a couple more days and put it on charge after couple days
3. If your phone discharged to 0% (battery is fully discharged), then redmi logo comes and then phone shows that it is charging like usually.
4. Do not waste your time, after battery icon shows up *photo* Press Volume Down and Power OFF together, then phone will be booted in fastboot mode.
5. Then you need to flash boot.img and recovery, I was using from version Miui 10.4.5, i will put everything below so you can download it
6. After Flashing boot and recovery, your phone will boot up and that's it!
Download links:boot.img V10.4.5
boot.img V11.0.1.0
recovery V10.4.5
Following this guide might help you to unbrick your phone, no need to use any programs like Miflash or SP FlashTool!
I hope my guide will help you, have a good day
It only works if boot image is not damaged. You can try eg: fastboot flash boot twrp.img and reboot to see.
This will replace your boot image with recovery image, it will completely brick the phone because boot image is no longer working, then prepare to go back to Mi store or $29 for authorised service account.

Dude, how could you suggest to try something which will hard brick your device? That's careless and reckless! So guys, don't do that!
That's just example, not suggest someone to do it. Trying to use this example to support my point.

Exactly. If you had flashed custom recovery.img and boot.img and after booting in TWRP the phone became hard brick (only led light works) then the stock boot.img is lost. The method proposed (drain the battery) could be done by opening the phone and disconnecting - connecting the battery.
There is only one solution if boot.img and recovery.img are flashed and afterwards the phone became brick. Either buy an authorized account to use it while in 'sp flash tool' or wait and see if developers create a 'MTK__DA.bin' file or an 'auth_sv.file' in order to use it in 'sp flash tool' and flash the phone. The 'mi flash' program can't work if the pc can't recognize the device. The bricked phone is visible in devices only if you hold vol button.

https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-23776.html is collecting those above mentioned files. As of now, there's nothing available for the RN8Pro, however, it has already been requested. So there's at least the chance to fetch it from there in the future. I don't know whether the available generic Xiaomi files will work.

Redmi Note 8T bricked - help appreciated

As a beginner I was looking for ways to get away from the Google dialer and the phone recording restrictions. Read that the Indonesian ROM had the miui dialer and tried to flash an official Indonesian rom on my new Redmi Note 8. The result was not good. After flashing, using the XiaoMiFlash tool and a tweak to bypass the mismatched-image-error (https://forum.xda-developers.com ... r-fastboot-t3638653, the phone remained in Fastboot mode. I have probably tried to boot a Gingko image on a Willow phone.
When trying to restart it just blinks briefly and turns of. The same in fastboot mode: just briefly buzzes and shows the the fastboot screen and then turns off. Guess it is bricked.
Is there any way to restore it to original global rom?
the same problem with you

Bootloop (?) dm-verity corruption

So my phone is stuck on this issue. I haven't done anything wrong. My phone was just peacefully charging then the phone switches off by itself then the bootloop happened.
This showed on the screen:
dm-verity corruption
your device is corrupt.
it can't be trusted and my not work properly.
press enter button to continue.
Or, device will power off in 5s.
(written in white)
Although it does turn off by itself if I ignore it, after I turn it on again and press enter or power button it boot until lockscreen and if I try to do something like unlocking, scrolling down notifs bar, and sliding through different page on home screen it will turn off again. It seem like it's crashing. The thing is I am not trying to root or flash something. I haven't done anything on my phone. I only have one phone and I badly need your help. I hope wiping or reformatting the phone is my last resort. My phone is updated to Android 11 and lateset MIUI (provided by the system itself and not downloaded somewhere). Thank you.
Well seems like something is corrupt.
It reboots when you touches the screen(or do anything)?

At some point I did manage to unlock it but it happened only once and when I tried to open the notifs by scrolling down or tried to different part of homescreen it just shuts down. After that, it can't even go to the lockscreen after reboot. It's a never ending cycle. I can go to fastboot mode but I don't know if I can do miracle with that.
Well immediately plug into a computer and pull photos amd videos from it if you get it unlocked.

Maybe they will replace the motherboard with some fee. Or they will try to convince you to buy a new fancy phone just purely because xiaomi could earn more.
Thats all about luck (and problem is on xiaomi side, not your fault)

Do you guys think I need to go to the service center because I don't know what to do. I really don't want to brick my phone. But a while ago my phone booted. I set it up just like buying a new phone but after I finished setting up, I just wait for the phone to catch up because I was afraid the phone will just shut down suddenly. And then, it happened again the phone shut downs without me doing anything. Now I tried to boot it up again but it is currently stuck at Redmi logo (plus "powered by android" at the bottom").

SPFT enables when phone is a brick, so there's no need in service center.
they will flash it like we are going to do
Help, does anyone know how to fix dm-verity corruption? I was using my tab normally, then it suddenly shuts down and this error keeps popping up whenever my device boots. It goes on a loop unless I press the power button again.

my phone shut down. Xiaomi redmi note 5

Hello everybody,
while i was typing a whatsapp message, the phone got stuck with the keyboard. he didn't make me do anything else.
I saw that the brightness was very slowly going out. The cursor where you write the text flashes, as if it was waiting for me to write.
but no I could do anything.
I turned off the phone by pressing it for 7 minutes. from here on it didn't light up anymore.
what can I do? can you help me please? I would not want to lose data.
i have an identical phone, can i try to put this motherboard in the phone that works?
could it be a test? or?
thank you so much
Try EDL mode... If you don't what is this than search it on XDA forum.
I hope you'll revive your phone.
Good luck!

Ok .. I guess you didn't unlock your bootloader ... First try to enter fasboot mode ( search it how to do it), download official fastboot ROM(use the same version you have it on your phone), and flash it (with mi flash tool). You'll probably lose your data but at least you will have working phone.
If you gonna Chang motherboard you'll lost data too. Data is on motherboard emmc chip.
