So I have a galaxy watch active 2 and a huawei p20 pro as a daily phone. I noticed though that the watch dies not notify you when phone alarms go off. I have clock notifications enabled, yet no alarms ringing on the watch. I know that the watch itself has separate alarms, however I suppose that the phone alarm should also notify you on the clock. Is it only me? Is it a Samsung - huawei clock compatibility issue?
Cheers

I have the same problem with P30. Unfortunately, I was writing here, but no one answered me.
What I managed to find is that the problem has it with no Samsung devices, but nowhere read a solution. Samsung does not want to cooperate because they does not answer when the question is not about their product.
Different apps, ofc it doesnt work.

Yes, but since you have the option to set notifications on for clock alarm app, it should notify you through the watch, the se way it does for every other app. I am not saying that when you set your alarm on the phone to also have it in your alarm app of the watch, since they are indeed different apps, yet the notification should be active..

It seem that Android Alarm Clock app do not send notification to connected watch. Just send on WearOS Watch.
GW SM-R800, Samsung S8.
Everything works fine. If I set an alarm on my phone, it will also appear on my watch.

It does send a notification of your alarms. You need to understand though that when your alarm goes off on your phone, it doesn't show a "notification," like any other apps, it works a bit differently. If you have any means of dnd turned on while you're sleeping, clearly you're not gonna see/feel the notification coming through.
Take like 5 minutes and clone your alarms from your phone to your watch.

Samsung also likes money, they much rather you have a Samsung phone too
You could also use some third party alarm app, like Sleep as Android which sets off an alarm both on your phone and your smart wearable (if you so desire).

You are right, but if I clone the alarms then I will have to switch off twice the same alarms each time they trigger, once on the watch and once on the phone, fir each of the alarms, a bit counterintuitive don't you think?

It'll be sure to wake you up
Also, you might wanna install a Samsung Clock apk, see if the integration with the watch works any better
I have the same issue with my Galaxy S10+ and my Galaxy Watch Active (SM-R500) since I changed from the Samsung Clock app to Google's own one.
Yes I can set alarms directly from my watch, and I usually wake up to them but I work shifts so often have to get up at 4am for work at 5:30.

Hey All,
I'm having an issue on my GS2. The alarms work fine, except i can't snooze them. I slide snooze and the alarm turns off as though i had dismissed it. I have no issues with installing an alternate clock, i just wanted to make sure it's not just me being unable to figure out my phone.

It's been working fine for me. Though I wish you could pick other ringer sounds. That stupid alarm sound is downright relaxing. I need my alarms to be a little more upsetting....though I do find the SmartAlarm with debriefing pretty cool.
That reminds me how much I love this speaker.
EDIT: nvrmnd. I only looked at 'alarm type' not even 'alarm tone' which is where the file selector is.
Fixed?
Hey, hey, Good news!
So, apparently this was one of those issues that you merely need to bring up in conversation for it to get fixed. This morning i snoozed and it went off 5 minutes later. Interesting. I'll monitor this behavior.

i should have typed "Good news, everyone!"
Alarm Sound while in Silent Mode
Anyone able to have the alarm vibrate when in Silent Mode without me having to manually change the media sound to 0?

Since JB I've noticed that the calendar notifications went from signalling once to a continuous drone that rings and rings until the device is attended to. My alarm clock isn't even anywhere near this persistent.
I don't see any means to change this behavior at all except to turn off notifications completely.
This is not meeting friendly and happens to be extremely annoying when you have multiple devices.
Anyone know of a fix? Did I miss something? Or did someone program in this change and considered this absurdly long notification time an improvement?
No one has noticed this or it doesn't bother anyone?
I think that's hard to imagine...!

Really? That's very interesting. This happens on my Galaxy Nexus as of 4.1.1 and my Nexus 7.
It did not happen before my JB update.
Interestingly NO ringtone is selected when I "choose ringtone" from the calendar app. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Well that's it.
The calendar notification was some built-in and non-selectable notification. When using that notification it continued for over 30 minutes. After selecting a ringtone/notification from the list the problem went away and the notification file is only played once.
Strange behavior.
i'm on stock, unrooted, 4.0.4 (latest ota) and my alarm rarely sounds...
i have no idea what causes it to choose to sound or not, but I find that it becomes less likely to work when there's 2 alarms active.
this has been going on for a couple weeks now (used to work fine), and i woke up an hour late this morning because of it!
i've tried:
- force closing the app
- clearing data
- deleting/re-adding the alarms
- creating the alarm from within the clock app, not directly from the widget
- removing widget from the homescreen (as you can see, i'm getting pretty desperate with this one!)
anyone else experiencing this issue?
edit: could it have anything whatsoever to do with nova launcher? i think this started after switching to nova (i've since switched back to stock touchwiz). the widget didn't come up properly on nova, and I created alarms from the widget. maybe im just being stupid but I NEED this to work again.. looking for suggestions for replacement (free) alarm apps in the meantime.
thanks
no one? this issue hasn't gone away, and apparently i'm not the only one experiencing this. could it possibly be a hardware issue? other people have reported it on cm10 as well.

When you turn this on, by default it will NOT let you hear the alarm.
I turned if off again and alarm works fine!
Hope this helps
Two Verizon Note 8s in this house. Neither one is handling notifications well. We're coming from two Note 4s that never had any issues with notifications.
Issues:
1. I have twitter, facebook, gmail installed and am using the Verizon messenger app. My phone generally makes sounds when I get a notification, but the notification light only blinks every once in a while. I don't use AOD, so I rely on the notification light to tell me when I have notifications. There have been times when my phone has been idle for an hour or two where I don't get notifications until I turn on the screen.
2. Wife's phone. She gets a lot more notifications than I do. She is having problems with notifications not coming in after the phone sits idle for a few hours. Once the phone screen is turned back on, all of the notifications come rushing in and she gets a ton of alert sounds in a row.
I have not been able to figure out what's going on with this. I checked to make sure that do not disturb is turned off. Neither one of us use it.
Is this a software issue, or something that we're not doing correctly? On Note 4, notifications just worked. There wasn't anything special needed.
Thanks

It may be a software issue. this affects the S8/S8+ also. More and more reports on notifications not coming through especially text.

So, if it is on the S8/S8+, then it's unlikely that they'll ever do anything useful to fix it?
Notifications are the one thing that I hate about this phone. They're completely unreliable and I have to turn on my phone to check and make sure that I didn't have anything come in. It's the one thing that makes me miss my Note 4.
I have this problem since Nougat on all my devices. For me it was the power saving features, forgot exactly which one, but it basically shut down the apps totally until I woke the phone up.
Just an edit to my post. When I pickup or awake the device all my notifications come through at once , is that what you are talking about ?
If you find a solution let me know.

Yes. In my case, it is not always picking up notifications for GMail. I tried to add GMail to the list of unmonitored apps, and it was not available. I'm not sure what else I can do.

Hello mate, it happens to my Galaxy tab s2 on Android 7 often. As soon as I open it out of standby all telegram messages pop over. Weird thing is , it doesn't always behave that way as I can hear my Telegram and what's app notifications on that sometimes when using same account etc on the Note 8.

Well, it's annoying as hell. My Note 4 never did this. I could always rely on getting my notifications.
Makes me wonder if I should use the regular email app for Gmail, and then dump the GMail app.

Luckily for me the Gmail account isn't my primary email address. Have you whitelisted some apps from power saving to see if it changes the notification behavior?

Probably except as it's a built in Google app.
I guess that leaves you with the option of what you mentioned earlier. Add the Gmail account to the existing email app. Bummer.

It's on. It notifies sometimes, but if the phone has been in standby for a while, it stops. It definitely seems like a doze issue.
Same problems here
Notifications hit or miss. I have disabled all the power saving options, disabled all the restrictions on the individual apps, disabled all the data restrictions on the apps. Everything I could think of. Once the phone has been sitting for about 10 minutes on the desk, it seems to just go to sleep. Nothing comes through until I pick it up and start doing something with it. Then the notifications all seem to come in at once. This seems to hold true for any messaging app, email, etc. This is a horrible problem.

My wife is having the same issue, but on a Sprint Note 8. When she opens her phone in the morning she get's a bunch of notifications pouring in from several different apps. So since y'all are VZW and we're Sprint it has to be specific to the phone and not the network. this has me worried because it's text messages and everything if she hasn't touched the phone in an hour or more.

Same problem here.
Note 8 Germany DBT - no branding.
Since last week notifications wont come through when the device is idling. I have paired it with a Garmin Fenix 5x and set it to pass the important notifications via Smart Notifications to the watch.
This no longer works and I missed some important notifications. I have to change my behaviour to regularly check my phone and this is very annoying!
Stock firmware with latest patches.
I thought Samsung would already have this baked in coming from a Pixel phone but I used to be able to set Do not Disturb for say 1 hour if I was in meeting and only wanted notifications off during a set amount of time. It looks like it's all or nothing on the Note 10 though. Is there a way to address this that I am missing?

Interesting thought. I have the Galaxy Watch and on swipe down, when you tap do not disturb it asks you how long... but it doesn't appear to be on the phone itself. So in my case the watch must turn it back of at the specified duration. I wonder what happens if the phone loses the Bluetooth connection then to the watch? Implementation was only thought through half-way?
