Wide angle lens focus issues - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Is anyone else experiencing problems with focusing on wide angle landscape shots?
As in it simply refuses to focus on long distance, but if you focus on something nearby, then far it occasionally will focus correct. As attached images show...

[IDEA] Distance sensor on HD

Hi, I got an idea, it could be used for camera 3G(front camera) HTC Touch HD as the sensor distance to act as a sensor that has OmniaHD?
Would be kind of cool but not the front camera. The main camera would be better with its auto focus and whatever else for judging distance. I do not know much about cameras but I think that the focus judges distance to adjust for best picture. I think it would be cool to hold up the device and tap the view screen to estimate the distance. Do not know what I would use it for though lol. It would also be cool if the front camera could perform a retinal scan! Like that will ever happen haha.

Front camera - selfie - focus is off

I have began to take pictures and really try all the features this phone has to offer. One that interested me was the 8mp front camera. I am in no way a selfie taker but occationally when I'm with the family I'll venture. I took a few pictures this afternoon and realized that the focus is awful. The focus is on half the image. I tried the touch the screen to refocus and it shows the square and refocuses but when i view the picture it seems whatever is closes to the lens is what is in focus, sometimes the cheek others the nose but never thr full face. I see the slide bar on the bottom and i turned it "off," but i still get unfocused pictures. Does this happen to anyone???

Front facing camera blurry?

Has anyone also the problem with the front facing cam, that it only delivers sharp pictures while holding the cam no too far away? If I hold my arm fully streched, the image is never 100% sharp. The view finder shows a sharp picture but the result is blurred. I really start to worry that my front facing lens might be broken. But if this was correct, the preview was also blurred, right?
Hi,
I've been experiencing the same issue. Any subject beyond arm's length appears blurry. Not sure why this is. Were you able to solve this issue in some way?
The front facing camera probably has fixed focus so moving the subject further away will result in a blurry image. There's also some very aggressive noise reduction processing that really softens the image regardless. I don't find the front camera to be particularly impressive despite being optically stabilized, wish it still had the same sensor as the m9 as that provided better shots anyway.
Any solution to this guys on the selfie camera. Could it be a defective sensor of the selfie camera? If I am the object it works fine beyond one feet turns out to be blurry. I just got my 10, two weeks back. If anyone could solve kindly reply
Thanks
Any solutions for this. What I am currently doing is holding the camera close while taking selfies as this is the only solution I could find. Other then that it's a great device.
Did also not find a solution yet.

Unable to select tele-lens on LG G8s

Greetings Just got my hand on a LG G8S here in Norway and I'm pretty happy so far. I started exploring the (three) cameras and noticed today, that if I covered the tele-lens, it did not make any difference. Activating the zoom mode (big tree icon) still provided an image, showing that it was just using a digital zoom on the main lens. Wide lens works fine however.
I also noticed, in manual mode, I could not activate the tele mode at all. Seeing also that the aparture did not match the tele one witch should be f/2.4.
Could it be that I have a G8 firmware, which only supports two cameras?
Thanks!
Pål
Try This.
Guess this scenario is been discussed and tested on other LG triple camera phones with Telephoto lens.
G8s telephoto lens with F2.6 needs good light to work, in poor lighting it switches back to the main/standard lens and offer digital Zoom.
Try outdoors with good lighting, switch to tele lens and then cover this lens with your finger.
Not sure why the software has to decide which lens to choose, May be this is the so called AI camera feature
Try gcam. It uses telephoto lens even at night
Hey, if you want to force the use of the telelens lens long press the little tree button, and it will show a live mini-preview of each lens. Choose the tele view and take the picture. You'll notice the difference in the quality and stability of the preview opposed to when you try to scroll smooth past 1.9x zoom.
But you won't be able to do anything else but snap the shot.
As soon as you click in something out of this preview option, whether to adjust exposure or anything, you'll notice you'll leave the telelens to the main sensor 2x digital
It's not ideal, but Works... Looks like a.... Bug?
Know this has been dead for a while but I investigated this and it bases the lens selection on focus distance and light availability. If you try to use the tele lens on close up subjects it will auto select the main sensor. If used for shooting more generally the tele lens is selected. I imagine light availability makes a difference too. I wish it wasn't blocked in manual camera mode though.

Ultrawide angle focus issues

Hi all,
I experiencing an issue when I'm using ultrawide or telephoto lens: even if I tap to focus, especially in low light conditions, I can't focus on distant objects or infinity. Image comes blurry.
It's a faulty camera?
Anyone has experienced that or found a solution?
