I have began to take pictures and really try all the features this phone has to offer. One that interested me was the 8mp front camera. I am in no way a selfie taker but occationally when I'm with the family I'll venture. I took a few pictures this afternoon and realized that the focus is awful. The focus is on half the image. I tried the touch the screen to refocus and it shows the square and refocuses but when i view the picture it seems whatever is closes to the lens is what is in focus, sometimes the cheek others the nose but never thr full face. I see the slide bar on the bottom and i turned it "off," but i still get unfocused pictures. Does this happen to anyone???

My camera has terrible focus, I've tried the half-hold on the camera button and tapping on the screen, but all my pictures come out horribly blurry. Is there a different setting a should try out? I maintained that an LED flash was one of the better things about this phone when put next to the Vibrant, but its not like the camera produces anything other than blurs anyways...
take off the small camera scratch "protector" ?
little basterd gets hazed over time
Well I also noticed its only sharp when I'm literally about an inch away from the subject. I'm gonna take it up to the t-mo store, and I'm hoping I can walk out of there with a replacement, or somehow...a Vibrant!
hi guys! im noticed the camera takes horrible photos resolution!!!! i was disney today and i cant take anyphotos because all of them was taken blurry and low resolution. but with the front camera the photos seems good resolution and more clearly.. is very annoying... anybody has the same problem???
i try with all setting and nothing change and the resolution settin is on max (8Megapixels)
Try these two things, clean the lens & either turn in or turn off the anri-shake. I was getting all kinds of lens flares and didn't even realize the lens was covered in my finger oils. Turning the anti shake was bad but after I turned it off then back in the pictures seem to have gotten better. BTW this phone has one if the worse possible placements of a flash and lens. I've had the flash reflect off my finger and it messes with the photo. GL hope your problem was like mine.

Mine was a bit blurry as well and then as I looked more closely at the rear lens I found that the guy who installed my Screen protector on the front also installed a protector on the rear as well and it covered the rear lens. Upon taking that screen protector off the rear lens the pictures were very clear and had no blur on them. I had wondered why at first the pictures were clear and then turned blurry after.
Just wondering if anyone noticed this and if it had affected the initial reviews on the camera of this phone. The smallest smudge on it affects the picture quality A LOT. I wonder if it's because it's resolving at such a high MP so it exaggerates the oil or dust.

This. I also noticed that when I was first playing with the camera, the "Beauty Shot" option was on in the camera settings. It blurs the photos significantly, at least the front facing camera. I think it's turned on by default. TURN IT OFF!
EDIT: Also, for night shots, I insist on the HDR mode, simply because the camera will not adjust exposure for **** at night or in any dark room. So it's a must. You have to hold the camera perfectly still, and make everyone keep smiling for a few seconds, because it takes several shots in sequence. But it's worth it. Pictures always turn out great.
Has anyone also the problem with the front facing cam, that it only delivers sharp pictures while holding the cam no too far away? If I hold my arm fully streched, the image is never 100% sharp. The view finder shows a sharp picture but the result is blurred. I really start to worry that my front facing lens might be broken. But if this was correct, the preview was also blurred, right?
Hi,
I've been experiencing the same issue. Any subject beyond arm's length appears blurry. Not sure why this is. Were you able to solve this issue in some way?
The front facing camera probably has fixed focus so moving the subject further away will result in a blurry image. There's also some very aggressive noise reduction processing that really softens the image regardless. I don't find the front camera to be particularly impressive despite being optically stabilized, wish it still had the same sensor as the m9 as that provided better shots anyway.
Any solution to this guys on the selfie camera. Could it be a defective sensor of the selfie camera? If I am the object it works fine beyond one feet turns out to be blurry. I just got my 10, two weeks back. If anyone could solve kindly reply
Thanks
Any solutions for this. What I am currently doing is holding the camera close while taking selfies as this is the only solution I could find. Other then that it's a great device.
Did also not find a solution yet.
So noticed that when I take photos or videos, my camera seems to be blurry from the middle up, whIle bottom half is focused. Really annoying!:/
Thanks guys
