So it seems that it's impossible to have double tap to wake on any pie rom regardless of whether it's stock, custom, rooted etc.. but I had double tap to wake on stock Oreo and if I flash back to Oreo it will return so I'm just curious, what makes it an impossibility now on pie? Why is it only goodix panels that get the love?
It works for me on RR v7.0.2, I never had double tap to wake on any other rom, custom or not.
Try this magisk module. Worked for me in stock rooted latest pie

For me DT2W works with fts_ts panel on custom ROMs that have the pocket detection option like Superior or RR.

Hey guys,
i just flashed the PA 5.1 Rom in my HTC One M8.
The Rom is based on 5.1.1 Lollipop and marked as stable.
So far I only discovered that the double tap to wake up gesture won't work.
For everyone else here is how I fixed it.
The SeLinux mode setting was Enforcing or strict so I couldn't get the Gesture working.
I downloaded the SELinuxChanger from XDA and changed the setting from enforcing to permissive and now everything works fine!
I'm not responsible for any changes you make. Its only a guide and it works for me.

Hi.
I'm looking for a custom ROM. I need fingerprint gestures. ROM Must be without any bug.
Thanks

I just bought a Z2 play today. I like the Fingerprint Sensor to Navigate setting in the included Moto app. I want to at the very least Root my phone but was thinking of a Pie ROM like Havoc or Lineage. If I get a custom ROM can I install the Moto app and use the Fingerprint Sensor Navigation? I know Pie has the pill but that still takes up some of the screen and I like having the entire screen. Or if there is another app/way to enable it.
Almost customs rom can't run Moto apps . but there are many functions in custom rom can replace them.
Fingerprint Sensor on custom rom is bester than on original rom.

Thanks very much for the info. Is there any ROM you may recommend, oreo or pie based that have the one button nav?
EDIT: Well I have a Verizon model and just realized apparently those are bootloader locked. Should have done my homework.
I was hoping I could test full screen gestures after installing the latest MIUI 10.4.1 Global official ROM based on Android Pie, but the option is nowhere in the settings. I've got the dark mode, but not the gestures ones.
Is that not supported on this version? I expected so

Our phones have physical buttons so it's quite pointless to have those gestures, you can flash xiaomi.eu rom and get it.

True, but other Xiaomi models have them too and still can enable full screen gestures. Thanks for the tip!
Go to special features→MIUI lab in settings May the full screen gesture button will appear
Is there any magisk module or a way to make ambient display react to gestures (like for ex. Lift to Wake - known from OnePlus) ?
I tried and installed Pix3lify that added many things but not this one.

I found one but it seems to only work on custom ROMs with selinux permissive. Are you using stock?
stock pie with magisk.

Yeah you might have a hard time finding a module to work. I tried for the longest to find one and it didn't work on stock. Maybe if you switch selinux to permissive I haven't tried that one. Also if you're into custom ROMs aosip has it built in and its stable as well as updated once a month I believe.
