RevengeOS - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

Hi !
One question, why is the RevengeOS Rom by GismoBe
not taken into account here or presented?
I accidentally discovered this on Android Filehost and flashed it once.
Runs with me for 10 days, battery keeps in normal use (about 2 hours of surfing 1 hour games and 1 hour Netflix and Co look just under 4 days) and runs super fluently
Sorry for my bad English

It's on the telegram page and group

a little home cooking

after using nearly every rom posted i decided to have a go and blend a bit of gear and see what happened.
used t-mobile uk wm6 rom TMO_UK_3.60.110.4_6275_1.50.00.00_108_Ship as the base rom and cooked with pandora.made several attempts some more or less successful.its not lite and fairly ordinary in terms of features etc but has been pleasingly stable and speedy.
one issue with pie, wont hold new home page but can be changed in reg edit,i think the exe file is read only and sys'd in the windows folder.use tcommander to change attributes and its all sweet.
have a look and let me know what ye think.guess i'll keep fidling around and make more

been running this for 2 whole days and havnt had to recharge the phone yet.still showing 60% despite plenty of calls 1-2 hours of browsing plus 20 mins of wifi and hours of game play.
i, love to hear some one else have a go and report on battery life.its running 1.51 radio.

What's the best apps u recommend me to use whatever the ROM i am using ?

1) For recieving calls you should be okay with any rom. Would be funny if a rom didn't have a phone app
2) For mails i suggest you try the app "K-9 Mail". I'm really happy with it's functionality. (But of course there are probably a lot of very similar apps out there)
3) For dates/deadlines i use the build-in calendar which syncs with the google calendar. Means you can access it from your phone, via a browser or a lot of desktop programms like thunderbird. As a frontend i use the "go calendar" widget, but i guess any calendar widget will do.
4) For To-Do lists i've got no idea.
5) Since you need the phone for business purposes, you should see to it that you get as much battery life as possible. You don't want your phone dying on you shortly after you recieved an important email and thus can't respond. Also for calls a dead phone isn't that great.
For that you should look into setting up your phone so it doesn't constantly drain your battery.
One bad thing about stock roms is the bloatware. I had real problems with google maps because it was constantly keeping my phone awake (and there are other apps like it). Now that i have cyanogenmod installed, my phone runs at least 10 hours more just because the bloatware is gone.
A rom like cyanogenmod can additionally bring you more standby time since you can set the cpu frequency 245MHz. I'm still able to make calls with that and everything like mails and calendar is still working. Only scrolling can drive you nuts (for instance if you are surfing with the browser...but you shouldn't be doing that anyway ). And you can always reset the frequency if you need more power.
Another great life extender are apps like juicedefender, that activate your mobile connection (and i think wifi too) only for a couple of minutes every 30 minutes or so (mobile connection meaning the data connection...it doesn't mess with the normal connection so you can still recieve and make calls).
Let's say you have a setup where your mobile connection gets activated every 30 minutes for 2 minutes. That's 4 instead of 60 minutes per hour and should save you a lot of energy. (And almost nobody needs to get emails instantaneously. Especially if you sit infront of your PC. Then you don't need your phone at all )
You don't NEED to make your phone go longer on one charge. You can always carry around a micro-usb cable and/or a wall charger if you really have to.
But i like it if i don't have to worry about my phone all day and only have to recharge it every other day.
I use Oxygen ROM ported for DHD. This ROM is awesome. Amazingly (or should I say extremely) fast, and the most amazing thing is the battery life. Normal usage (few phone calls, checking emails, etc) can last you for 1.5 days. The quadrant score is remarkable (even I got > 2000 with under clocked ROM in 768Mhz).
I installed Street Fighter IV (yes..it's warez one, but since everybody was talking about the choppiness of the sound, I gave it a try), and only this ROM gave me no choppy sound, especially if I OC it to 1.5GHz, even in 1GHz, the sound came from the game wasn't that really bad.
For work.. Sense 3.5 kicks A**S!!
...if your company uses exchange 2007/10(offsite/onsite)... a sense 3.5 ROM goes a long way!
Our company uses an in-house exchange 2010 server and it works like a dream with my DHD flashed with RCMix3D Runny 4.0 (stock with no themes... except maybe an UOT kitchen to change icons and transitions.. >_<)
Syncs very well your Outlook Exchange email, calendar, contacts and even tasks, and the widgets for the features are a godsend and looks cool enough to make even the iPhone4S zombies in the company green with envy!
I also have decent Remote Access through Pocketcloud using RDP/VNC since we also have Terminal Server. However, I'd still work remotely using my little netbook should i need to.... >_<
For my Music & Movies to keep me sane during home-work public transit, I use Poweramp and DicePlayer respectively.
And games like Shadowgun, Dungeon Hunter 2, Samurai 2 Vengance (and more tbh) are present and working very well on my phone despite its already intensive usage.
Hope this helps with your query... ^_^

Android Revolution HD 8.1 bug

Hi guys,
sorry for posting here but don't have enough posts to post in the right forum.
I have HTC One X Tegra 3 with Android Revolution HD 8.1 turned and installed the experimental performence mods in the aroma installer.
For the 2nd time in the last 2 weeks I went to sleep with almost full battery and woke up with no battery at all.
Today I looked at the battery usage and found it to be very wierd (see attached screenshotes).
The Android System is draining the battery for 5 hours then suddenly an instant drop to 0%.
Do you know why this happens and if I lose the experimental stuff will it solve it? It happened to me once with a previous version of this rom as well.
Thanks

Official OTA/Kies 4.4.4 KitKat landed on i9300i - Brazil

Hello Folks!
This is a headsup, about a hour ago, I ran my usual check for update, and bang! The Official 4.4.4 KitKat was available OTA and Kies. Noticiable changes:
- minor cosmetical
- a slightly performance improvment
- the sms software, which was freezing the device for about ten seconds when open, was corrected, and now is working fine.
- the delay on bring the screen on is gone
That's it for now.
Checked and confirm the update OTA. Thank you very much!
Cool!
Sent from my GT-I9301I
Hi everyone!
Some days after the update, I can say a few things more.
- For the same kind of usage, the battery life is much, much better than it was before. With calls and wifi on all day, and light use, it is going for almost 2 days. (BTW, I don't use the FB app, I use a widget from APW, that show me the feed, and use the web interface)
- Since the update, I didn't see bugs nor the device freeze.
- The focus on the camera seems better and faster. And, photos taken by other programs, like whatsapp, are taking less time than before too.
- Since I have a ton of apps installed and in use, the RAM usage is still almost in a 1GB. Which is great for me, cause I have another 350MB available!
- In the normal use, with wifi/3g web navigation, music and movie playback, it stays cool all the time. With some games it get a little warm, with another games, it starts to get hot, but still handleable.
This is by far, the best deal available! Way faster that my previous MotoG 1st gen 16GB, have a slot card, a beautiful and a tad larger screen, and a slightly bigger and removeable battery. It is really a great smartphone! Kudos for Samsung!

Best Nougat/Oreo based treble/non-treble rom with VoLTE

Can anybody please suggest a good rom which supports VoLTE and has decent battery backup. I've installed AospExtended Oreo but the battery life is pathetic which i never expected. I don't know why but i found Nougat to be more stable than Oreo (I'm using Oreo only because of GCam stability). Please now if you can suggest any rom.
Thanks in advance

It would be helpful for others to know few details about your setup.
Which version of AEX do you have ?
Any special Mods you have installed ?
Which Kernel are you using ?
What is the SoT reported by AEX default bat settings and 3rd party apps like AccuBattery
Have you checked the top most battery consuming apps or service ? What are they ?
What is your usage pattern, are you a heavy gamer ?
Secondly, never ever judge battery backup of a ROM with few hours or usage. Make sure to use the device for few days. Best would be commenting about battery after a week of usage (10/12 charge cycles).
Thirdly, same setup may offer completely different backup to two different user. For example a heavy gamer running longer PubG sessions may end up with 3 hours and 30 mins of SoT where as with same device and software, a person only using the device for phone calls and text may end up 7 hours (even more) of SoT !!

Ya you're right. But I've used it for around 15-20 cycles. No mods installed or any custom kernel. The mechanism of checking battery stats is not good on this rom. It shows the breakdown of stats and not complete analysis.
I think my network was the real culprit plus the temperature in the area i visited.
And for gaming, i never use my phone for gaming (I've a PC for that, even PUBG). I'm a moderate user. I used Greenify the same way i used in Nougat AICP. Battery drain was considerably very less.
The rom has got mixed reviews on sot...so i think this may be a 50-50. Anyway i want a rom with more features...

Its been long since I haven't tried any non Treble build so I wont be able to comment on that, but on Treble, RR 6.1 having the most customization options by far. This version of RR is very similar to AiCP UI wise, so as an previous AiCP user, you may feel comfortable. The main different UI wise is at the ROM extra, huge number of settings to play with.
Thanks.

Thanks. I think i will have to install a treble rom as it is the next step and today or tomorrow, all roms will be treble compatible.
And you're right, AICP has the most customisations..i just loved the nougat base of it as i used it for a very long time...

It's popular but better not try a treble ROM
Its a lot of hassle and performance is a little low compared to non treble ROMs
