Hey people,
I've had this device for a couple of months now and every now and then I broke some stuff because of excessive flashing/unlocking etc (who doesn't lol). Now when I had these issues I simply put the phone in EDL mode and flashed stock via 64bit MiFlash and that made everything work properly again. But I used to use a Windows PC for that and now I only have a MacBook which I can not install MiFlash on. Does anyone know how I can flash the stock ROM via EDL on a Mac? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about EDL or miflash, but you can startup in fastboot mode and use the flash scripts from the stock ROMs. The scripts use fastboot to load all the partitions.
I've never had a need for anything else.

Thanks for trying to help but I really need to flash the stock ROM with EDL, because that fixed some of the issues I had before. Flashing stock normally (with the shell file on Mac) doesn't help me at all.
Since there's been no other replies... Here's my thoughts for running miflash without a PC...
Use WINE or similar. May not work well with low-level USB access.
Run windows in a VM. VirtualBox, VMWare, Parralels. You can get an installer ISO from Microsoft.
Run windows via bootcamp.

Thanks for the info, but I already use this method to flash stock rom and it still doesn’t get the job done. I need to flash the rom with EDL.

Thanks, looks like I have no choice but to run a Windows machine in VM.
EDIT: I have ran Windows in a VM and successfully flashed stock rom via EDL, but my issues persist. FML.

OK so I am using windows 8.1; have searched everywhere and tried just about everything imaginable but I still cant get fastboot to work with my HTC One. The phone is recognized fine when I type adb devices on the main screen, however, when I boot into fastboot the phone is simply not recognized by Windows any longer. I get the message USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. I am currently looking to update my HBOOT which is 1.54.0000 and was under the impression that I need to do a fastboot flash to do this. I am currently running Viper Rom 5.8.
I am desperate here and am willing to make a donation to the person who solves my issue.

After sending to HTC to have the camera sensor fixed I could no longer get fastboot to work and I had to suffer with stock for a couple of months. I finally resolved this by updating sdk having read recent Windows 7 updates could be the culprit, maybe it was a usb driver update, but was still having issues.I read to try turning usb debug off and on which in the end may have been all that was required. Finally back to S-off running Viper 6.1 which team Viper deserves major props on for a brilliant job. BTW I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate with usb 3 ports only.

Hi guys, I want to upgrade to android L now but i have to upgrade to the new bootloader. I am very unfamiliar with fastboot so I could do with some help.
I have downloaded the zip with everything I need in it. I know there are a few things I need to do before I can upgrade, i just dont know what these things are
I did just try it without doing anything (plugging in my tablet, booting to fastboot and opening the batch file but it just came up with "Waiting for device")
Im pretty sure its something to do with the drivers but currently I am clueless.
PS I made this thread because it was instructed for me to not ask for help on the thread for the rom and Im pretty sure a lot of other people are having the same problem as me. Any help would be appreciated, thanks for your time
I believe first thing you need to do is unlock your bootloader , I just did that.. now im not sure where to go after that but first video in this thread and toolkit helps alot plus it helps you get your drivers setup.. I had issues with 8.1 x64 so I switched to a windows 7 computer and it worked perfectly
Oh yeah I forgot to mention. I am already rooted and the boot loader is unlocked. I used the wugfresh toolkit and set up the drivers again to how I think they should be and when it went through the testing procedure, it fully connected to the device, rebooted it into fast mode and then turned it back on again.
It just doesn't respond to the batch file that was in the zip
I have the same problem. I run the .bat file, and it just hangs on waiting for device. My bootloader is unlocked, and I have a custom ROM on my device. I put it into fastboot mode too, and it won't recognize it.
Did you try running the bat file as administrator? Or try a different usb port?

Actually I didn't. That might be worth trying. Cheers
EDIT: Well that kind of worked, but it just came up with "fastboot is not a recognised internal/external command". Any ideas now?

you need to run the command from adb installed folder, these exe's comes with android SDK.

What version of Windows are you running?? 8.1 is troublesome for drivers. I've had better results from Windows 7
With the nexus 7 you will want to install the kit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-9-3-nexus-t2940401
this is the easy way to get adb fastboot and some other utilities
you can then go to the wugfresh development/data directory
open a cmd window
boot your n7 to the bootloader ( Power + Vol Down)
connect it to your computer.
in the command window
type fastboot devices
look for your nexus serial number ( should show on the bootloader screen on the nexus)
if you don't get a device showing... you will have to re-do your drivers installation......
try using the Wugfresh tool kit.
if you do see your device
use the windows bat file in the Bootloader update from Scrosler's thread.
Hello,
I have a "small" problem with my OnePlus 3. Today I wanted to install LineageOS and followed the steps, and for some reason now I can't boot into the OS or in TWRP or any recovery. And to make everything a little worse: I can't acces my phone via Fastboot, never could get it working on my Windows 10 PC. Last time I rooted my phone with an old Windows 7 laptop, but that is gone since then.
Anybody that doed have a possible solution?
how did you flash anything without access to fastboot?

I was able to root my OnePlus a couple of months back using a old Windows 7 laptop, but that's in the trash now
Pick it back from the trash ? that's the only solution. Or use PC of some friend.

I don't know. Probably if I want to unlock, root and want to flash TWRP i can't get it to work. But i'm not going to try that now haha
I recently recoverd from a brick using the usual xfstk downloader asus flash tool ect... i think i quit the asus flash tool too early and it left me with a buggy android. my problem is. there is no bootloader! when i try get to it ( even through adb) theres nothing there! but theres a fully working android. I tried to use xfstk downloader again, and when it says "continuing to os" all it does is put me in android with no bootloader. I really want a way to fully wipe my device so i can start fresh again. Is this safe? is there a better way?
that's why i always recommend to use commands method to flash after xfstk. any ways enable developer option and usb debugging. then connect to pc and run command adb reboot recovery. most probably you will boot into recovery factory reset there and sideload latest firmware downloaded from asus website.
if you are rooted then you can flash bootloader via dd commands

Also the xfstk won't complete because when it says continuing to os. It just takes me back to android.
I recommend to use this guide

It's the only way to get my ZE551ML run again.
After using xfstk, go forward without AsusFlashTool and do all steps manually as described in the guide. It helped me to get my bricked ZF2 run again with newest MM.
Good luck.

here are few things you can do! wipeout ifwi on emmc. and then use latest MM ifwi on marshmallow. if still same open back panel of the phone disconnect battery connector and place small paper under connector leave it like 7 days and after that try xfstk again with original files

It may be a fault in some other guides by addressing in xfstk.
The right address is 0x80000807, some other guides show 0x800000807, one 0 too much!
The guide I linked to does it right.

If you finally want to go to MM, you can install it directly if your phone is broken now. So you will get a very clean MM without messed up from updading from LP! Really recommend.

So I wanted to try out the A12. I really like it, but the ROM makes it unenjoyable. Slow speeds, stutter, lag, delay in actions like: locking the screen, volume control.
I want to ask if I need to do something special to downgrade or I can just simply flash the device? (Wanting to flash Pixel Experience)

Just flash the latest stable release of your MIUI build thru fastboot with miflash and you are set.
Dont attempt to flash anything via TWRP or any other method, or you will brick your phone.
Also, "DO NOT LOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER".

Some questions to understand the situation...
Is the usb debugging option enabled in the developer settings of the phone?
Are the phone drivers installed correctly on the pc?
Have you tried to restart the pc after installing miflash and drivers?
Have you tried to start miflash as administrator?
Usb Debugging is enabled
I didn't install any drivers, since I didn't see it was required
The PC has been restarted since, Yes.
I didn't try it yet.

I have found out, that the same drivers are also included in Mi Flash, and that you just need to boot Windows with Driver Signature Enforcement disabled to be able to install all the drivers.

Disconnect phone from PC and reboot Fastboot Mode, then re-connect to PC.
This is because, after an initiated Flash, Fastboot Mode may not accept any more input.
Also make sure to not reboot Fastboot Mode while phone is already connected to PC. You need to connect after you rebooted Fastboot.
This sounds weird, but you can also try using a different PC. Mi Flash is stubborn.
You can also try putting the ROM-folder directly to C:/.
Mi Flash doesn't like spaces in folder-names, and although you don't have any spaces I would still do it... Mi Flash's errors are unpredictable.
And yeah, like RollDload said, try using a different USB port
or try this: https://www.droidwin.com/unbrick-poco-f3/
this was te only way to get my F3 back.
