Screen Panels - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Greetings,
I am wondering if there are more then 2 screen panels. Besides the home screen and bixby, I have two others. I am not seeing anything in settings to change this. Google comes up with nothing.
Thanks in advance.

I only wanted to be able to be able to control which screen is the home screen, usually i make it the screen on the left not the middle. Plus i only have enough apps to need 2 screens so i wanted to get rid of the extras

Its the fifth thing down under settings. Its also the first thing under interface. (They are synonymous with each other)

sry for the bad picture
im not seeing any option saying interface
So your picture isn't taken from the top of Settings. Is the only thing above that the WiFi stuff? Twa's has a setting for interface as seen below. When you click it, you get to the second pic.

Home Button Behavior

After installing Kit Kat, when pressing the home button while on the home screen if not on the default home screen it no longer goes to the default home screen. It just doesn't do anything. Does this happen to anyone else?

Nope it works as advertised on mine.

Where did you download your copy?
I got mine from the mega mirror, I'm wondering if that could be the issue as no one else seems to be reporting experiencing the same issue as us
Same on my device, but it is no problem for me actually. I have downloaded mine from the Google Drive mirror

I downloaded from mega earlier today. I installed Kitkat and am having the same Issue with the home button. I have to use the little home icon to get to the default home screen. I did a full wipe before installing with Odin. If some people are not having this issue, I wonder what's causing it for the rest of us. Otherwise, I'm liking it.

I have the home button issue too, but the little home softkey works fine....I just have to remember it's there.
It's a TouchWiz issue BTW. I'm using nova launcher and there is no issue with the home button at all. Works just as expected.
Same issue here. Mine was from the Google drive mirror. Not too troublesome for me though. I'll be refreshing when a north American version pops up anyway.

Ah, that's cool. I've just been using TouchWiz since I did all my playing around with it yesterday, and haven't actually used Nova yet (which is my go-to launcher on everything). I'm trying to be good and check out the Samsung stuff for a change. The little home soft-key doesn't really bother me though....it's not like I have to reach much farther. LOL

any way to disable the temp/date at top of homescreen?

Title says it all. Is there any way to disable the temperature and date from displaying the top line of the home screen without getting a custom launcher. Thanks

Isn't that just a widget that you can take off the screen?

It's not a widget, I'm talking about the line at the very top. Impossible to removed as far as I know.

If you're talking about the "at a glance" notifications just long press on it and hit preferences. Then just disable everything.

Turn off screen gesture

Hi all. New on this phone, I've searched for this but could not find, so maybe someone here could help me. Is there a gesture to quickly turn off screen (had a gesture on my old nexus that was double tapping home button)?
Thanks in advance!
You could try 'Edge sense plus' (check the play store) to use the squeeze function to turn off the screen instead of launching the assistant. Personally I use nova launcher and swipe up to turn off the screen.
I'm sure there are other alternatives as well, but that's my 2 cents
I use the app called edge gestures on the play store. Works very well for me!

Is that the app that costs 1,77? Wich are the possible gestures for screen off?
Do you have the possibility to use the fingerprint sensor to turn screen off?
Thanks!
Yeah it does cost some money but I can't remember exactly how much. There is a native screen lock option for Android 9+ and I don't think there is any fingerprint gesture. It's primarily for the edges of your screen.

You could try turning on accessibility menu in the accessibility settings if you don't mind having a small icon to the right of the pill at the bottom of the screen. When you click it, there are several options given and lock screen is one. It's not a simple gesture swipe or a simple double tap but it may be an option.

Tried that, and it works, it appears a person button, and when you press it, it gives a lot of options, and the lock screen is one of them. I will keep using until a easier solution if found. I can not believe android will not include a gesture option for this by default.
I hate to have to press a button to lock the screen, they end up breaking/wearing so fast.
Thanks all for your responses, and other solutions are welcome. Cheers! :good:

Forgot to mention though that with it, when you open the camera app, you'll get this '5 second burst' label on the screen that some find annoying but I, for one, don't mind it.
Oh and when you're down and feeling blue, that small person icon seems to be ready to give a hug so just look at your phone. Hahaha

Yes now thinking it could be a accesibility info. I really do not like it. Will keep searching for other options... Don't mind to have a extra menu, but would preffer a native app and not a installed one. :good:

It's swiping/tapping from either the left, right, or bottom of the screen.
I use Wakeup touch Nexus, which, apart from letting you wake the screen using the proximity sensor, also allows you to turn off the screen by touching an icon on the desktop https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wolandsoft.wtn

I found this very useful, i mean... not the app but it moved me to find the right one... and i found it!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redmanit.lockscreen
This one can create a toggle in quick settings... (the padlock) its great!, you can use fingerprint to unlock, and all working fine (no root required).

Thanks, but looking for gestures apps or ways to lock the screen.
Check this widget out. It is invisible and adds double tap to lock functionality to any launcher.

Works without root in Android P or with root in Oreo and lower. In both cases, fingerprint unlocking works afterwards.

Navigation Bar Question

Older galaxy models had an option to have the navigation bar display at all time but I can't seem to find that option on my Note 10+. Does anyone know which setting or an app I can use to make this happen? I don't like having to drag the bar up every time I want to press home or back.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah... No. I want the buttons to actually be visible on my screen. Thanks for trying to help, anyway.
Settings>Display>Navigation bar>Navigation buttons radio bubble filled instead of full screen gestures.
