Flash Tmo Firmware - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hey All,
It has been a really long time singe I used Odin and am somewhat at a loss. There are a lot of thready and I cannot seems to find a single answer of how to flash the T-Mo firmware on my unlocked Note10+. Preferable without wiping the data on my phone.
I have the USERDATA_TMB_N975USQU1ASGO_CL16450385_QB24967230_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 file, along with Odin 3.13.3, which I believe is everything I need.
Any assistance anyone could offer would be really appreciated.
Thanks all.

[Help!] Hard bricked

Ok, so I wasn't paying attention to what I downloaded and ended up trying to flash an AT&T Galaxy S2 ROM on my T989. I ended up with a total brick and the only way it can be read is via QPST, the Qualcomm tool.
Now, from what I can tell - and I've not messed with this before - I need to flash back a restore image in order to get the phone back. But I haven't been able to find one anywhere. I might be very naive (and probably am...) but it would seem to me that if someone downloaded the QPST tool and did a backup then I could use those files.
Again, if anyone has any experience with this it would be much appreciated. Clearly the phone is salvageable, but just not without a lot of work

[Q] lost imei, sim, and service after custom rom

so i'm in need of some big help here. i have a t-mobile galaxy note 2(SGH-T889). I recently rooted my phone(clockwork) as was looking around for some custom roms to put on it. then i came across the hawkish extreme on here(was blown away by it by the way, pure awesome). me being foolish as i am opted to put this on my phone. just i didn't realize until it was too late that it was for international phones only. so now i have no service with circle and the diagonal line through along with the imei saying unknown. i'm completely lost i've seen a couple threads on here as to how to recover but not any dealing with my type of situation. i don't have efs backed-up. i'm a little freaked out right now so any help would be grateful.
any other information you need just let me know.
thanks in advance.
[edit]: i fixed thanks to teshxx SGH-T889 Factory Images, Roms, Kernels, & Modems thread
Start with flashing stock t mobile with odin. You might get lucky and it will be fine, if not the are guides to help you get your imei and signals back.

[Q] Need help with modem

Hello all, I posted here several weeks ago about me trying several things on my SPH-L520 to get root back after Knox, and ultimately failing until I found s0be's CyanogenMod project for the SPH-L520. This saved my device and I have a fully working ROM again with root access and the likes, however back when I started this commotion I deleted the modem off of my phone. After tinkering with my brothers phone today and following some very helpful threads I have successfully recovered the modem.bin from his phone. Unfortunately, this is where my expertise ends, as I don't know how to build the constituent parts to include in a .zip to make this modem flashable. Do to the current state of development for the SPH-L520 I also haven't found any modem packages that would work for me on a CDMA network, as most (read: all) of the modem packages I have found are for international LTE variants, and even if my phone successfully accepted them, well you know why that probably wouldn't work. So I'm asking for help, one final push to make my phone a phone again and not a fancy PDA. If anyone knows how I can turn the modem bin i have into a flashable zip, I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance, Hans.
Perhaps this thread can help you: http://www.rwilco12.com/forum/archive/index.php?thread-92.html
You need to flash through Odin twice for the modem to take effect.
You will probably be creating a .tar.md5 for modem.bin only

Thank you for linking to that thread.Unfortunately, Knox prevents Odin from successfully flashing the modem.tar I created. I'm going to try backing up my brothers modem with ZipMe and installing it on my phone that way.

What the hell is up with my phone? I just when checking around the firmware file with ES File Explorer, and right there inside is the modem files! But for some reason it's not working, the modem isn't being loaded or something because I still have no phone coverage... This is very strange.

EDIT: So I went into my connectivity settings and tried to add a APN. It wouldn't save to my phone. After that I tried changing my phone from NV to RUIM/SIM, but it wouldn't switch. I also tried to configure a network, but it said I needed to insert my SIM and restart the phone. Odd...

Stuck on Samsung boot screen

I rooted my old milestone many years ago but havee been keeping my devices stock ever since, until today that is. Today I decided I wanted to try to root my Samsung SGH-I747M with Telus and everything seemed to start off smoothly. Once installed the SuperSU stopped working. I tried fixs I had read online such as updating the app, but this did not work. I read on a forum that you could flash something to disable know to help fix the problem. When I tried going this avenue I was not able to reboot my phone. I tried restoring from a backup taken before flashing, but I havent done any of this in so long im not entirely sure the backup took properly. At one point I got a message saying no OS was installed but after restoring this seemed to go away. I apparently do not remember anything about rooting from my milestone and am hoping someone may be able to help me get out of this mess. I am currently downloading the stock firmware and I think I will try flashing it tomorrow. I also was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a thread on xda that went into a more detailed explanation of how rooting works, what specifically roms and flashing all is and does. Any help is greatly appreciated.

General section is most likely the best place for that.
Here's a How-to that should get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
And here is the Sticky index: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839 Lots of good guides and info in there!

The Only problem is I already attempted to follow this and my phone will no longer boot up. Also I tried navigating through the stickies. couldn't find much info for my device. I will be trying to flash the stock firmware tonight but I want to have a clear understanding on what flashing is and what the difference is between os firmware kernel and rom and such BEFORE flashing this firmware tonight. I hope someone will be able to help.

Well that info is already in the Sticky Index. Understanding what you're doing (or about to do) is really important but you gotta start reading, it's all there.
OS, firmware and ROM are the same thing.
When your phone boots, it basically goes: Bootloaders -> Kernel -> ROM (OS).
The kernel has pretty much all the "underground" controls (RAM, Mhz, governor, scheduler, BT, Wifi, etc).
I won't write everything but those are the basics.
Also, having a Canadian variant of the S3 (that's what the M is for), doesn't change much other than flashing bootloaders and stock ROM (which you'll wanna use the Canadian variant bootloaders and Telus ROM for stock). Everything else is basically the same.

Sweet I will definitely check that out. So I did flash twrp to my phone. Is it possible that I flashed the version say for the i747 but not the m version and that is why the phone wont move past the samsung screen? Also should I attempt to get rid of twrp before flashing the stock firmware. This should answer all my questions and then I will explore the stickies some more.

If flashing a stock ROM, flash the Telus one. If flashing a custom ROM, it doesn't matter (I747 or M variant), as long as it's D2LTE.
Your recovery doesn't change anything to flashing with Odin, it will overwrite it.
Flashing the stock firmware fixed my problems. Thanks for all of your help and I will definitely be checking out the links that you sent me before trying to root again tomorrow.

[Q] Converting an AT&T to T-Mobile. Help?

First off, thanks to everyone willing to read this and help me out. Here's the deal.
I got a cheap second-hand m8 locked on AT&T. So far I have sim-unlocked it, S-OFFed it, changed cid to 11111111(supercid), and added Philz recovery. I would like to find a firmware and rom for T-Mobile that has wifi-calling enabled, and flash it without bricking my phone. It still has the MID for AT&T/dev(0P6B120000). HBOOT version is 3.16.00000000.
Should I change the MID? What firmware can I flash? What roms are recommended? Do I need to update HBOOT?
I don't care about OTA's, once I am comfortable flashing roms on this thing, I'll do it that way.
I am coming from a Nexus 5 so I am familiar with the stupid easy methods for installing roms and radios and such and being impossible to brick. This phone seems to not be so easy, so I am being extra-careful with how I go about this, as it seems completely different to me. Also, some of the guides on here that I've read have had some conflicting and/or confusing information, not that I'm ungrateful, I just want to be absolutely sure before I trash my new phone.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. You guys are the greatest.
