I have seen a lot of weird android O problems put up here, is it really that buggy or are their a lot of you rooting and running things that aren't necessarily tailored to O yet? Just curious, I don't have it yet but as soon as it is made available to my Pixel XL I will download it, I just want to make sure it isn't a giant bucket of bugs.

I haven't had any issues, I was able to update with OTA before Google pulled it the first time. Mine updated normally, havent had any weird reboots or behavior on my device yet.
I am unlocked running pure stock, enrolled in the beta atm
I haven't had any issues either. It's been performing very well and Bluetooth works great for me on everything I've tried it with.
I did a clean factory image. Rooted and suhide. Many of the TiBu apps had to be deleted and data restored, but that happens between different ROMs, so it's no surprise. Battery drain seems higher than PN or PixelDust, but it's too early to tell for sure. Push notifications are taking longer than on 7.1.2 for gmail, outlook, and wickr. But, no bugs so far to report.
Awesome, so I guess since I am not rooted or unlocked and not using any non android O approved apps (that I know of) I have a very small chance of bugs. Thanks. I really do appreciate it, sets my nerves at ease.

I am stock Oreo from the beta. Battery life sucks, like awful. I have done 2 fresh install too. Volume is extremely low. Tested it with my wife's pixel running N and her volume is considerably louder.

Battery life with Oreo and I don't have that great of reception.
Got Oreo on my Pixel XL via the beta.
No reports yet of problems with volume or battery life, but one of the new features "picture-in-picture", is not working for me at all. Google support have told me its a known issue and are working on it.
Like Partridge's extendable table, it's not a deal-breaker.

PiP only works with YouTube red or if you modify your nav bar to have a custom button to do it for youtube. And go to chrome watch a video in full screen then press home it'll work that way.
Not sure what's happening but when I was on dp4 and now on Oreo official the battery life has been the best it's ever been since I bought the phone back in 2016.
My experience has gotten better over the last day or so. The first 24hrs felt very janky. Since it has settled in and I'm happy with the performance.
When you guys did a fresh install did you restore all of your settings etc from the cloud? Or are you manually resetting your phone back up?

Only bug I've seen is PIP. This release has fixed my bluetooth issues(controls sometimes not working with my Jaybird X2's, Moto 360 constantly disconnecting with having issues getting it to reconnect even after reboots of phone and watch). Bluetooth issues have been my only complaint with the phone and those started for me only after the first OS update(7.?.?). I flashed the factory image and restored from cloud backup. Very happy so far.

Has anyone had notification sound problems? When I get a notification the sound plays at least twice or more.
I perform the OTA as beta program first and use it for 5-10 mins.
Later I decided to perform a facotry reset, during the wifi setup, I found that the phone cannot recognize my hidden wifi. In the end, I found that the phone could not find wifi channel 11, 12 or 13 from my router AC68U. I manually set the channel to 4 and the wifi was connected.
Last time I saw the same issue was on my Kindle Voyage.

I did the OTA and I'm pulling two days out of it with average use. ODP3 was better for me in terms of battery but hey 2 days out of a stock phone? sweeet

I set it up as a new phone, but now I encounter some issue that O is not recognizing my hidden Wifi. It was connected successfully and then I turn it to flight mode and perform a restart. Now the phone cannot see my wifi anymore... I'll downgrade to 7.1.2 and then see how it works... :crying:
installed and rooted wiped clean and having problems with phone. Freezing and rebooting on calls. anyone else?
When I charge my phone overnight and go to turn it on in the morning the phone is completely locked up and I have to reboot it. It doesn't happen all the time but it has happened 3-4 times now. I'm wondering if it is a hardware or software issue. There are a few apps that are running in the background such as Kin Screen, Automate and LightFlow. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have not. I am using 8.1 beta. What are you on?

Version 8.0.
I recommend 8.1 as it resolves the majority of the burn in issues . Let me know if that fixes your issue
No lock up on 8.0 here. I don't use any of those background apps though.

I will give this a shot. Thanks.
I have tried everything, disabled everything and every morning my phone is locked up and I have to reboot it. Funny thing is that I have tried fully charging it during the day and it doesn't happen although usually, it's around 60-70%, not 20-30% like it is a night. I am going to try resetting the phone one more time but this is so frustrating.
My screen flashes when the screen locks. It does this for a bit and then just randomly stops doing it, until it starts again. I've contacted Google and they won't let me do an RMA saying it's a known issue and should be fixed in a coming update. Anyway else have this issue?

A monthly update is supposed to address it eventually.

Well hopefully. Thanks.
Well I'm running the April update and the flashing issue returned today again. Still no fix. Ugh.
Mine started doing it after the April update. I started uninstalling a bunch of apps (like rotation control) thinking it was causing the issue. But nope...
Clearing cache and data, disable, & re-enable helps.

I think I've seen this just one time for me. It's consistently happening every time? Does this happen in safe mode?

Not happening all the time. Does it for like 10 mins then stops for a week or two before randomly doing it again.
It's infuriating, as people keep thinking I'm taking their photo. Anyone heard anything more about a fix?
Long discussion in Pixel product forum. No fix helped yet. I have heard that Google isn't allowing replacements because of the flashing; which hopefully means that they are working on a fix.
We'll have a new security update in a few days - I have everything crossed!
My XL started doing it today. Think I updated yesterday to the 5 May patch.
Just rebooted and it stopped. But I'm sure it will return
I am on the P beta and so far the screen flickering disappeared.

Same here... Good so far.
Any updates on this? Still good on P beta? I have a brand new 2 xl (Literally 5 days old) and just started experiencing this today. Should I just wait for P to release or should I go back to the verizon store and get a replacement?
I just picked up the XL 2 yesterday and my screen started flashing today. Called Google support and they said it is a software issue and that they are working on a fix for it and will roll it out in an update. Seems rather strange they've heard about this for 6 months and still no update as of yet. My bet is that this "fix" is Android p.
After updating to 10, a few times a day my phone becomes completely unresponsive. Since the screen is off, I'm not even sure if the phone is powering off. I've flashed the factory image to see if starting clean would fix it, but that didn't work. Anybody else experiencing this?

No, but you may be installing an app that is causing it. Try replicating the issue in safe mode. Ruling that out, if you have done a clean install using the full image (not ota) and allowed it to wipe your data there is not much more to do before contacting Google. A clean install restores your phone to its "out of the box" state. If the problem persists, it is likely hardware related. You can try a factory reset from the stock recovery... that is the first thing they will insist you do before processing an RMA.

I didn't have the issue on Pie and haven't installed any additional apps. It mainly happens after I haven't used the device for a while. It feels like it won't wake up so I have to hold the power button to force a reboot.

Yes.
I was just peaking to a buddy with a 2xl and he is having the same issue since 10.
I have an issue where after about two day of it being on it will start to stutter, and then after a couple hours it reboots itself. It's done it since 10 was released. Never had an issue on 9. Now I proactively reboot it once I notice the stuttering. Kind of sucks since 9 was super stable for me. No new apps, and no settings were changed. Just updated to 10, and it started. Kind of like memory is leaking causing it to stutter/freeze, but the last patch they said they fixed the leak. Guess not.

I just had a random reboot while taking my dog for a walk. Was only listening to SiriusXM. Think I'm going back to Pie until Google gets the kinks ironed out on 10.
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/14074635?hl=en
Booted into safe mode last night and had to force a reboot this morning to get the screen to respond. This is definitely an issue with 10 and not an app. I'm going back to Pie since having my phone turn off every night is unacceptable, especially since my phone is my alarm clock.
I took the OTA before setting up my new P3XL on A10 and don't have any issues. You might try wiping data then restore apps without data.

I flashed the A10 Oct factory image and wiped data. Still have the issue. The only thing that fixes it is going back to Pie.
So this happened to me twice now since being on 10. My screen would go black while using the phone, and then the phone would be unresponsive, so I would need to force a reboot, but after the Google splash screen it goes into recovery, and this message shows "Could not load Android OS. You can try again, or factory reset.". I did "Try again" both times, and it booted fine. Really irks me since I can't afford to do a factory reset since I use a lot of apps that have special info in them (Like Google Auth App that has many devices I need, and resetting I would have to redo every device). I hope Google can fix these issues with the next update.
I think my issue is due to the sensor bug that was introduced in 10. I have disabled the sensors on my phone and it hasn't froze since!! Hopefully Google fixes on the Nov update.
I'm having the issue that after my screen turns off, after a certain amount of time, I cannot get it to turn back on. The phone is still on, but is unresponsive to my input. I have to hard reset.
I have tried reflashing, and tried disabling sensors. I did not have an issue with the 10 September updated, but since updating to the November update, I had the issue non-stop all day.
Platform-Tools fully updated, not using gesture navigation, but the 2-button.
@MeetFace, yes! Same here since the November update. Something isn't right.
I'm still dealing with the black screen issue. Nov update didn't fix it.

Update, I read in a thread somewhere that disabling darkmode fixed it for one person (rando I know).
I created a tasker script that disables darkmode once the screen shuts off, and enables it when it turns back on. So far, no BSOD this morning (4 hrs)
FWIW

When my Pixel 3 XL is booting up, if I unlock it quickly than it reboots again. Since I am running magisk, Edxposed and Gravitybox, there seems to be some race condition causing the crash.
If I wait 30 seconds for the device to settle before unlocking then everything seems fine. I haven't had any crashes once the device is successfully unlocked.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Same here. Everything else is working great though.
