So the biggest outstanding problem with the sgs iii is the #### poor recording of videos at concerts.. Not the video quality itself but the innability to record in loud settings. It is kinda sad that the 5 yr old sgs can set the mic level low with voodoo sound and records audio great. I know it is not the same chipset but there must be a way to set the mic sensitivity lower like in the SGS to enable recording in loud environments.. Anyone know of any app to do this or should we start a Bounty for this.

To those of you who have the Note 2 in your hands already, I'm curious what your thoughts are on the mic quality. When recording video, how is the audio? Specifically, imagine recording vid of a live band in a club room.... Is it as bad as previous Samsung mics? Does the Note 2 happen to have built in mic sensitivity settings? Or does it look like it'll require another root/voodoo type setup.

I haven't been anywhere with live/loud music to record (and I imagine others haven't either, hence the lack of responses) but in general usage it seems a little loud so I'm not sure how well it will do with loud music.
For example here's a video I took recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDb9mE5cpNY (friend gets a bit loud at 1:50)
However I'm not sure if this is a result of the volume mod in this thread or not as I haven't recorded any videos without it.

Seems like a very sensitive mic in this video. I was hoping stock would offer more settings for mic control by now. A little surprised this thread isn't getting much traffic.
Voodoo sound is the perfect fix for my current dev. I guess I'll see if that is or will be an option for note2

It did a lot better than I expected, coming from my sgs2 (that mic would distort if you looked at it funny)

There is an app called (voodoo sound) that fix the sound in the hardware and also the mic . The developer for this app i dont know why he topped working for new devices .. try n.e.a.k kernel and downlod uneak engine from play store .. he is trying to fix this thing .. he just released the new versuon .. it seems doesnt work the mic modes but keep update with him
First of all, the preposterous noise cancellation/popping sound issue makes me insane. Same **** on the N5. Can I ever just once get a phone that can have perfect sound in videos? Please?
Anyway, now: what's with the pure dark picture on low light recordings? Why is it that, if I go to take a photo in a low light situation, I can still see SOMETHING onscreen, but when you switch to video, total darkness. (and the resulting video is total darkness)
Why the diff between photo and video?
When I record a normal video, the sound is beautiful.

I assume that the Automatic Microphone Gain Control does not work correctly.
How to solve this problem with sound overdrive on video on the OP 3T?

A little understood the problem. Overdrive of sound appears on ROMs based LineageOS & AOSP in ROMs based OxygenOS sound great!
i went at gigs or concert and recording some videos to the stage. In open space or indoors and when i took a look on the video i got scared...
Sound quality to recording nightclubs/gigs/concerts are pretty bad with the bass etc etc.
please somebody to advise, any app to fix this problem?
