Samsung themes - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Does Anybody using Samsung paid themes for free on their device?
Before purchasing Note 10 plus, I had S10 Plus and I had installed the custom one UI application for using Samsung themes. It was good for paid themes as it used to reset the trial of 10 minutes automatically.
Since I have purchased Note 10 plus the said application has stopped working. It is unable to reset the trial of 10 minutes and now the Samsung paid themes revert back after trial period
Does anyone know how to use Samsung paid themes on note 10 plus for free?

Road sms charged for by market dev

Road sms (free samsung app from app store), is being charged for in android market by "rayman50".
http://www.appbrain.com/app/road-sms/kr.touchsoft.samsung.roadSms
I hate when people do **** like that, charge for apps that are meant to be free. I would like to ask him to stop distributing it, but I can't see any contact details.
Here's an idea: The app was created by rayman50, who reached an agreement with Samsung that allowed them to distribute the app for SGS. He can still sell it if he wants to.
Just like Asphalt 5 - created and sold by Gameloft, but Samsung give it for free to SGS users

If he built it let him sell it.

Um, thats a possibility sure, and if true I'd completely apologize.
However, it seems pretty unlikely when you look at all the other apps he's distributing on the market, some of which I am 100% sure are not developed by him.
Gallery3D (made by cooliris iirc)
LG Home (LG)
LG Memo Widget (LG)
LG Calendar (LG)
Call Mum (HTC)
He hasn't even changed the internal name of the package kr.touchsoft.samsung.roadSms. If you consider asphalt, the package has "gameloft" the author in it. This has "touchsoft" in it so I'm inclined to believe it's developed by touchsoft http://www.touchsoft.com.au/TouchSoft/Home.html
So most of the apps he distributes are just dumped from various devices, and he wouldn't have permission to distribute. I think that's pretty shady, but doesn't really bother me as long as they're free (as they're meant to be, and can be acquired on xda/other sites anyway).
But when you charge for a free app made by someone else, that is immoral and against the spirit of the android community
Imagine if you paid for the app, and then realized that you weren't even paying the real author, and that it is freely distributed (and legally) elsewhere.
EDIT: I have emailed him to peacefully ask him to stop charging. I'm not trying to be anal here, I just hate to see this kind of thing happening.
Hmm.. If he is doing something dodgy then I suggest you send a complaint to Google then Samsung. They have lawyers on leshes ready for blood
No I wouldn't go that far, it's not my problem really, I just don't want people in the community to get scammed. So I've asked him to do stop charging in the email.

what i wanna know is he actaully getting paid $1.23 for every one of them sold? it says there are 100-500 downloads... so he made at least $123 doing this???!!!
If so, where do i sign up!
Well it says he originally released it to the market for free, so how many of those downloads are paid i don't know... But it's likely some of them were eh..
If that's the case, flag it in the market. I just did.

Officially supported Chevron Unlock tool coming

Just got this via twitter:
http://www.winrumors.com/microsoft-...itterwp&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter
Microsoft and the ChevronWP7 unlock team are teaming up to produce a low-cost developer unlock tool.
The tool will make Windows Phone development more accessible and allow developers to avoid the typical $99 per year cost of becoming a full Windows Phone developer. “The service will require a small fee to offset costs,” says ChevronWP7. “We assure you it will be more affordable than the App Hub.” ChevronWP7 recommends that those who wish to write and publish apps immediately should sign up to the App Hub.
“One of our goals was to make Windows Phone development more accessible,” said a statement from ChevronWP7 on Friday. “Plans have recently solidified and we can now reveal a solution we’ve been working on.” The developers didn’t release too many details on the unlock tool but it’s thought that the tool will simply allow developers to unlock their devices and experiment with applications before signing up to publish apps. ChevronWP7 has launched a “labs” section on its website, where it promises more information soon.
Microsoft originally blocked the ChevronWP7 application that unlocks Windows Phone 7 devices for homebrew third-party applications. Microsoft representatives met with Rafael Rivera and Long Zheng of the ChevronWP7 team earlier this year to discuss the tool and Microsoft’s plans to support homebrew applications on Windows Phone 7. ChevronWP7 famously released their Windows Phone 7 “unlock” tool in late Novermber that allowed owners to side load home-brew applications. The tool, named ChevronWP7, used a method to trick the OS into registering itself as a Windows Phone 7 developer device with the application rather than Microsoft directly. Microsoft normally charges $99 a year for the privilege of loading developer applications. ChevronWP7 pulled the tool at Microsoft’s request just two weeks after it was originally released. It was later revealed that Windows Phone 7 devices “phone home” after around two weeks to re-lock unofficial developer devices, rendering the tool useless.

no one is complaining...
If your previous post wasn't a complaint, then I'm afraid I don't understand what you were trying to say.
An officially approved, permanent unlocking solution is coming very soon. The ChevronWP7 team has already confirmed that it won't be done through the App Hub (so it won't expire in a year), and the one-time small fee will go to the Chevron team, not Microsoft, and is only being charged to cover their hard work over the past several months. They did the work, not Microsoft.
The only thing this solution won't do is allow someone to publish to the Marketplace. That will still require a paid (or student) developer license.
I think its great that MS is supporting this and look forward to kicking a few nickels over to the Chevron team for their work.
I am impressed by MS and how cool they have become.
Power in numbers
Hey Guys,
my guess is, ms turned chevron to go white hat because they try to gain momentum in the app market and therefore have to present an appealing platform for devs by keeping piracy in check and making sure those pale, hardworking guys get their bucks rolling. As far as I understand, chevrons new and official unlocker will be a paid app to drag even those devs into the boat, which are unable or unwilled to pay for a ms dev account while on the other side keeping in check, that this solution wont be a backdoor to sideload pirated apps from the market. This approach would take some amount of security integration and maybe some new kind of app-drm or how ever you may call it. Till now this is mere speculation and just my two cents to the topic
Paid unlock feels totally wrong. Especially if it's just an unlock, without a service like Cydia. I personally don't mind paying for software and services, and it's not the $99 price tag that's stopping me from going the official route, but the paperwork hassle.
But requiring payment for jailbreaking is totally unacceptable, IMO.

I doubt it
what does evry1 here think they will charge? coz $1 to $98 is a huge range.
i would be more than happy to pay a one off fee of no more than £10.....
but then again if its a one off fee and the unlock is perpetual through all updates
i may pay a bit more..
ps. happy fathers day to all the dads
yeah but don't you have to pay to jailbreak now? IMO it's not worth it. i was hoping this would allow custom UI's and such but it just seems micro$oft found yet another way to milk the cash cow.

You should have read the thread completely. It's not Microsoft that charges the users for the tool, but the Chevron team.
I for one consider it a great possibility to pay a one time fee and then be able to write applications for my device and use them on it.

I know. That's exactly what I've been trying to tell people, but everyone around here seems so eager to jump on the extremely misguided "I've been betrayed! They're thieves!" train. I could go on about that particular topic, but what's the point. Let the bitter people enjoy their bitterness.
I'll gladly pay the one-time small fee (I think the Chevron team more than deserves it), and then I'll have a permanently unlocked phone. Even after Mango is released. Even if I have to hard reset some time in the future.
Thank You.
Thank you MS and the Chevron team for coming up with this solution. Good for you Microsoft.
sounds good but...

I read this the other night and I would like to know what effect this will have on apps sideloaded with Chevronlabs.
It will most likely affect them in the exact same way it affects official app hub developer unlocked phones.
From everything they have told us so far, phones unlocked with the new Chevron service will behave exactly the same as app hub unlocked phones. The only difference will be that you won't be able to submit apps to the marketplace.
So, whatever works on an app hub unlocked phone will work on a Chevron unlocked phone, and anything that doesn't work on one, won't work on the other.

Samsung Note 10 Demo Unit Info Request

Hi There I have scoured the XDA forums for up to date information on either the LDU S10 or Note 10 device range. Unfortunately there seems to be very little information on hand, which is unusual considering there are loads of threads about previous Galaxy S series LDUs and retail mode disabling.
If anyone has information about disabling retail mode on the current generation devices, your help is much appreciated.
Note: The password 5444 trick that used to work no longer does, which would allow factory reset and MDM removal. Now I don’t plan on taking a gamble using ODIN to try and flash stock N975F onto my N975X device for fear of bricking. I have successfully flashed S6 devices in the past but I’m a bit more reluctant with the lack of info on hand.
Any help is much appreciated, those of you who might be inclined to post ‘This is a retail device, you shouldn’t have it’ - I would politely state I bought this on ebay as a legitimate listing and would like to use it for Android Studio App development for my final year college project. I have used LDUs in the past as an access point to development on Android as my daily driver is iOS and I wanted to break away from Xcode for a different challenge. I do computer science and have a passion for smartphones so spending 1200€ to do App testing on a Note10 Plus is not an option when I paid similar for my daily driver.
To clarify when I say a ‘legitimate ebay listing’ - if I can purchase on ebay with my own money that is my business and clearly satisfies eBays user agreement. Thanks in advance, all info welcome.
Same here

General [WARNING] Calling stops working outside of China for the Chinese version

At least three people on the 4pda forum have reported that the Chinese version of the phone restricts making and receiving calls outside of China after two weeks of use.
Source 1: "Your phone is best suited for a specific region. There are restrictions on the calling function in your region. Please contact your place of purchase to resolve the problem."
Source 2: "Today it's stopped receiving calls, and when I try to make a call it bails out. Had to reset to factory settings. Activated on Jan, 23rd."
Source 3.
This is quite scary and unexpected. Both people use ColorOS and have yet to install the global firmware.
I wouldn't recommend buying the Chinese version for using outside of China until this issue is sorted out.
The only solution so far has been to take/send the phone to an official Oppo/OnePlus service center to unlock it. This must be done only after the calling restriction becomes active (rebooting the phone ~11 times is enough).
OnePlus 11 versions/models:
PHB110: China (region lock)
CPH2447: India (region lock)
CPH2449_EEA: EU (lock free)
CPH2449_GLO: International (lock free)
CPH2451: North America (lock free)

No idea why all the links have been removed from the message but whatever.
4pda distributes warez, correct, but all the links were for a valid topic which has nothing to do with that.
Never heard of them distributing malware though. Must be something to do with the war I guess.
4pda has a ton of talented developers and some ROMs are basically developed over there but looks like the rules here have changed.
My post had nothing to do with warez.
Can I post a link to Google com?

Yep, its true.
You get message about region lock, then device working for some time with calls. Then calls become disabled.
I got this situation and now I`m waiting for some like Oxygen OS get released to move on it.

Is this specific to OnePlus 11? I've never heard of this restriction/issue before.
It could actually be very bad for the consumer. Imagine a Chinese goes to visit another country for more than two weeks. They may find themselves being unable to make/receive calls which could result in a loss of life. Whoever implemented this hasn't thought it through. Either calling works or doesn't. Breaking the feature at a random time? This is horrible and inhumane.

I was able to make phone calls too in the beginning despite warnings until one day it suddenly stopped working. I posted a video about this on a Chinese platform. Oppo/onpleus support commented on my video that my device was locked because it was first activated outside of China. I was advised to visit a local Oppo service center along with proof of purchase for them to unlock.
I think this was activated with an OTA. I am still on A06 and haven't seen this warning yet.
Activated 24th Jan, first time outside China.
And anybody with OXYGEN OS also having this problem. Software is there, flashing should be possible.

Hey bro, I'll get my OP 11 in a few days, I've seen similar problems in the China digital forum but I'm curious how this region lock works? Does it require a Chinese sim card? Or does it require a connection to a Chinese network, like a Chinese IP address or something.... I own both of these things, a valid Chinese sim card, and a Chinese VPN.... If OPPO is relying on these things to determine the region, that would be great. (I really don't want to mail the phone to a OnePlus service center even if they can fix it, the OnePlus service center in Europe is in Poland, which is too far away) The biggest concern is that OPPO relies on the network country code to determine the region.
Man, and I was really considering buying this phone in the UK. What's the best option, to ask seller to send a sealed unit so it doesn't get activated in China, or get them to install oxigenos and lock bootloader?
