A few days ago I root a Nexus 5X, installed custom rom, I have tried a few ones.
But I want to go back because of two reasons, the battery time is much worse(compared to the Stock firmware) and the phone lose the wifi the whole time.
So I wounder where I find the orignal Stock Oreo 8.1? Where can I donwload it on the forum?

Google search "google firmware", look for nexus 5x firmware and download and install using fastboot.
Stock firmwares for Nexus5X are all here (oldest first):

Once you root a phone, is possible to go back to a fully stock rom?
backstory:
not long after the s3 was released, i rooted it.
a month or so later, i went back to a stock rom.
what i noticed, my phone never seemed to update to the latest releases.
doing it wrong?
You can Odin back to 100% stock unrooted if you really want. The download link is in the Android Development thread. It has the latest update available both rooted and not. Fact is, there's not much reason to give up root for an OTA as a stock release will be available here within a day or two - sometimes hours. And if you're worried about your carrier if you had to turn the phone in, they really don't care. Just get rid of the custom ROM if you can.

Why would you want to is a better question?
Aside from returning for warranty, I see no reason to ever unroot!

Tried one of the custom ROMs on here, no real issues.
Tried CM10 and it was a total cluster-fok.
Only reason I liked being rooted was tethering and adblocker.
Hi, I've got this one Note 4 that's had loads of trouble presumably since the last security update.
Baseband Version: N910AUCS2EQD1
Android: 6.0.1
Have seen the instructions and all as to how to go about downgrading BUT one site I came across with the original stock firmware downloads outright state how:
""DO not ever try to downgrade from any newest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates back to an older 6.0.1 build version""
'and so I'm lost. Should trying to then reinstall the same Baseband version atop what's already there a good first alternative? ...that is, just in case it was never upgraded properly in the first place? Or is that not even possible?
Is trying to downgrade at all a futile pursuit?
Would truly appreciate any suggestions, help, direction...heck, anything! Thanks in advance.
I downgraded from 6.0.1 epk5 to 5.1.1 with no problem.
Not sure about qd1.
As long as you have the odin firmware, I see no problem.
Can i downgrade note 4 n910a from marshmallow to lollilop, please help me i am in great trouble because marsmallow update is very bad with a lot of reboot issue ,battery drain.
Once you are on QD1 you will not be able to go back to anything lower than that firmware. The bootloader is now at the latest version and has blown one of those imaginary "e-fuses" so that you can not go back in time to any other vulnerable OS. I just tried today to go from EQD1 to EPK5 and It would not flash and would fail every time whilst using the latest Odin. So good luck on finding anything on getting you back to another firmware version but at this time I do not believe there is anything that will move you back to the firmware you want. If you do happen to find something or make your own exploit do tell @sanaullahkhan371 If you are on QD1 you are not going to be able to downgrade if you are on PK5 you can try the Odin downgrade method that will5 presumably used but if you are not in this firmware use case you are SOL.

Hi,
Can you please let me know how did you downgrade? Is it straight away flash to 5.1.1 or did you follow any steps?
I am also planning to downgrade. Anyways, I stopped using Note 4 after update to 6.0.1 as it was switching off every now and then due to update. Might as well make this phone usable to take photos and as a video player for my kid
Thanks

I just odin to this firmware N910AUCU2DOI2-5.1.1 It s available somewhere on this forum.
Read how to odin if you never used it. In this case you need to unzip the file and load AP, BL, CP and CSC files on odin and flash.
Was running 6.0.1 epk5 previously.

Thanks a lot buddy! :good:
My note 4 was also running on 6.0.1 EPK5. Found the 5.1.1 firmware and followed your instructions to downgrade. My phone came back to life and is usable now.:victory:
No more switching off abruptly! I wont update anymore since all the apps which I use are working fine with current version of Android.

Were you ever able to flash back to an older version from QD1? Others have said that the bootloader was not incremented in QD1.

I'm also on EQH1. I have never tried to downgrade. I was just curious if it was possible, in case a root method was discovered that only worked on older versions. But I've just learned to live without root. EQH1 works fine for me.
I had the infamous freeze/reboot/shutdown issue with 6.0.1 and I wasn't sure if that was the issue but I downgraded to 5.1 and have fewer issues now. The phone runs just fine, except it does not reboot. You have to do a soft reset every time. But with the Wakelock app, at least it runs.

Hi can i ask if u still have that firmware file
Hi guys,
I have a problem I need some advice for. A year ago, I purchased my Amami for the purpose of GPS-navigation on my bicycle. It always worked fine and I was able to charge it with my dynohub without any issues. The charging is giving me a headache now though, and all troubleshooting points at the phone being the problem.
Now, a couple months ago I decided to ditch 4.4 and go for a custom ROM (I've tried Oreo and Pie) which worked fine, but the phone doesn't charge as well as it used to on my bike. I'd like to go back to stock to see if that's what is causing the issue and used the Xperia Flashtool to revert to a stock image, but the ones that used to work on the phone now give me bootloops after I've flashed TWRP and ResurrectionRemix and Lineage OS.
Is there anything I need to know before I flash a stock firmware with the tool? Any input would be appreciated.
Sounds like to have not updated to Lolipop and therefore you do not have real recovery. Is your bootloader unlocked? Then you can try EMMA to update to Lollipop.

My bootloader is unlocked, I have TWRP installed and am currently running Lineage OS (Android 8). It doesn't matter if I flash Sony's original Kitkat or Lollipop; both will have bootloops. No offense, but I'm not sure you understood my original post: I'd like to go back to an old stock ROM, because 4.4 is the one that I'm sure have me no trouble with charging on my bike.
Proper BL relock:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/tutorial-relock-xperia-z-bootloader-t2191907https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/tutorial-relock-xperia-z-bootloader-t2191907
If you use twrp in fotakernel partition maybe necassary to write back original fotakernel.sin (inside stock.ftf) before relock with flashtool. Remember! After relock with flastool the new BL unlock key here: DEVICESERIAL \ unlock.txt
I finally got a pixel phone, the 2 XL. got a question about the romming process
if i install a custom rom, then decide to go back to stock using the images that google provides, and relock the bootloader and all that, will i still be able to get OTA updates?
i have a moto z3 play that if you go back to stock and lock it, it says the phones using a different OS and requires Motorola to reprogram the phone in order to get OTA updates again.

Hi y'all,
It's been ages since I have messed around with my device! So I need some lessons.........
I have a Verizon Samsung Note 4 currently on HAVOC ROM with Android 9 and N910VVRS2CQE1. I want to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 STOCK.
1. Do I need to downgrade the BL also?
2. Is this all going to happen through ODIN or is there a stock image I can flash through TWRP without much fuss?
3. A little hand holding would be appreciated !
I have searched for days here and Google. XDA 's new search is a little tough to get used to.
