Some time ago I bumped into a table and shattered the rear camera glass of my Mi A2 Lite.
Having replaced the glass, I noticed that the camera doesn't seem to focus anymore for close by objects (such as QR codes for online payments). Distant photos are more ore less OK.
I already opened up the phone and checked that there are no glass shards in the camera and cleaned the inside and outside of the glass.
Via the test menu (#*#*64663*#*#) I have already determined that both cams do work.
I tried various camera apps (GCam with Camera2 API, stock, OpenCamera), reset the data or even re-installed them but that didn't help.
Does anybody have any suggestions what I can try before ordering a replacement camera module?
Thanks.

anything i can do to fix this ? the lens doesn't seem to be scratched or nothing, still not sure why the blurry out of focus pics.
any advice will be appreciated,
Well I guess you can try to find a back camera module & replace it which will cost you 20$+ (last time I checked) or buy SLR... If you go for camera module make sure it's same Omnivision sensor as original before making purchases. Replacement isn't rocket science as Xiaomi used clips & almost none glue.
Best regards.
So I got a main camera replacement (from ebay), since my old camera has weird blurry spots on the lens. The replacement camera fixes this issue, but seems incapable of focusing on far objects. Alright, just a camera with a broken autofocus, I'd think. What's weird is that I can hear and see the autofocus working on objects <2 m. For instance, the camera makes good macro photos and adjust the focus when I adjust the distance to the object. Does anyone have a explanation or a possible solution to this problem? I'm afraid of another hardware issue, but I'm hoping someone could at least explain what's wrong.
ps. I tested with and without the lens cover to exclude a dirty cover from creating the problems
Thanks in advance!
Most cheap camera replacement out there is not original.
Check it again if it's original or not
Hello,
I am having an issue with my Note 10+ which started just recently only a few days out of warranty (Of course.... Thanks Murphy...)
The front selfie camera every time I launch the app is blurry. I can slap the top of the phone against my palm slightly a few times to get it to focus.
I have tried a factory reset without any luck, I have also tried updating to the latest patch level without any luck. And finally I have tried using other 3rd party camera apps with the same results.
My screen is flawless, always had a whitestone protector and it has never been removed. The issues just started happening and the phone luckily has never been dropped or abused.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
At what distance is it focusing in at?
Is it possible there's debris or the screen protector is screwing up the focus?
Do you have any of the Bixby apks disabled?
I know the rear cam needs Bixby Vision and Bixby Vision Framework for full functionality.
Selfie distance so maybe 12-24 inches. Screen is scratch free and debris free. Cleaned with alcohol to be sure.
I am completely stock as I just did a factory reset yesterday. Nothing disabled out of the box.
Try in safe mode..
Try pulling the SD card if present.
Same in safe mode. I am not using a sdcard
Yeah sounding like hardware. Repairing the 10+ is a challenge. Sorry.
The connector to the front cam may have come loose although this is unlikely. If you scroll down on this Tear Down you can see the front cam assembly:

If you do get it fixed, get the battery done too or wait until the battery starts fading to do both at the same time.
Is the sensor to focus inside of the actual camera cut out hole or hidden somewhere behind the display?

It's using the same cmos sensor for the focus as the cam I'm pretty sure.

Definitely sounds like an issue with the autofocus. To confirm, is this on stock firmware with the OnePlus camera app or gcam mod?
As the OnePlus 9 phones use a laser autofocus, I'd check that nothing is obstructing the focus lens first (to the right of the top camera sensor). If you have a camera glass protector, there ones I've used put a hole there to avoid distortion but with the downside dust builds up and I need a qtip to clean it.
If this is right, the reason it works at first is it goes to its default focus level on boot and tapping to focus then directs the laser
Its a stock firmware with One Plus camera app. No lens protektora used. She uses original case what was un the box.
Assuming the laser isn't at fault, I'd say there's likely defective hardware, multiple parts it could be though. You could try the gcam mod app and see if that helps, if it were better there, then we would know its software and not hardware, but that's unlikely given the problem.
Ok. Will try
Hi everyone, the glass that covers the camera of my mi 10t was a little bit shattered after a fall, but was working fine most of the time, only in some night shots was showing a weird phantom light. So I decided to buy a new glass and replace. But once I changed it the camera is not working well and is all blurry. The cameras and the glass are clean, I don't understand why this happens. Someone knows what happens and how to fix it?
Check the camera contacts. You may have partially dislodged a ribbon cable etc.
High G impacts can cause internal damage including chipsets. Always use a good case to help tame the G loading spike from impacts.
