I was looking at my front facing camera hole and noticed a little line around it and it was kind of off-centered, and then I realized that there was a little screen protector there. Should I keep that? Or should I take it off. What are you guys doing?

I usually roll the dice.

Even if the TP2 is very nice, I got mine last week that stupid camerahole bothers me and the TP1 was the same.
So I taped that hole (look at the picture)
Or does someone else got a better solution for it?
P.S:
I can still take nice pictures

Not really, it's not THAT blurry ^^
To be honest, I don't give a thing about the camera that doesn't even has a flash
@gcheok
What's the point with the screen protector
I don't want dust in the back of the phone.
Agreed. Having a protector in the lens is only useful if you're planning on jabbing sharp objects through the hole in the back cover.
A much more effective solution is to cover the hole itself, thus preventing the back of the phone from filling up with dust.
Seems like a bit of a weird thing to do on HTCs part, though I can understand it. On my TyTN2 I actually took the back cover off to take photos as the "lens cover" was so obliterated and caked with dust.

It's probably just a bad photoshop but the T959/Vibrant doesn't have one.

No camera, but you do bring up a good point that it covers the little light sensor or whatever that thing is on the front...

Not only does it appear to cover the light sensor on the front, but the back of the case also appears to be covering the speaker. I picked up the Tmo case in store and really like it.
I am waiting for this one:

can you describe the one that you got at the tmobile store? is it a hard case or just the silicone one? how much was it?
im going to stop by the tmobile store today to look for a hard case and screen protectors. although people in the screen protector thread said the screen protectors from tmobile sucked. any suggustions that dont require me putting water on my phone like the clearfreak screen protectors?
btw, i am looking for something like posted above, but dont want to wait till mid august

There is a light sensor and a proximity sensor in front. Might be another one. I see 3 small dots on the front.
I've heard you're better off covering the front facing camera, at least it keeps you from thinking you can actually use the thing. (I don't have one, but I've heard in several places it's pretty much worthless).
The FFC is near worthless without Fring/Skype. You can chat with QIK but that's about it, the other stuff is worthless. So much for it taking over.
Hey guys
Just got the phone today after a long two years with the galaxy s3 and im very impressed over the improvement over the S3 and im glad that I picked this device.
I've noticed that if you look at the light senser on the front that there appears to be what looks like a a screen protecter. Is this correct?
Thank you
I think that is just part of the screen that extends over the speaker, sensor, and camera. Plus the screen responds like it is unprotected. I hate screen protectors so you had me scratching on my trying to see if anything would peel off.
I think that's just the way the phone is - I also hate screen protectors and you had me worried.. made me triple-check my phone lol.

Haha sorry looking into it, seems to be a small protecter over the light sensor.
My M8 was working fine a week back. Then suddenly I started noticing that my camera capture images in a diffuse glow/angelic glow mode. Whites become bright and look grainy. I can see that on my phone screen itself. The sharpness seems to have gone. The ISO is set to Auto, in fact all the settings are in Auto. Did not happen before.
What's wrong with the camera? The camera lens is clean too.
There is an OTA update available too. I thought updating may solve the issue, but everytime i try to install it says "downloading unsuccessful" "the download package is corrupt"
All you pretty and genius people out there, a noob needs help.
My phone is completely stock. Did not root or anything.
Check your camera lenses if there are any scratches on it. It means the lenses coating is coming off.
Too many minute scratches/ hope it's the coating

Now that you mention it, yes there is. Quite a whole lot. I use Dot view case, it has some height, I wonder how they still got scratched.
I read about the solution for this, it says the coating gets scratched quite easily, use of toothpaste or any other method mentioned will remove the coating and the camera will get to it's original state.
I am skeptical about doing that. If i remove the coating, won't it be really scary if the original lens also gets scratched?
What do I do?
Thank you in advance
Same is happening with me. Pictures started looking grainy. I tried the toothpaste method but it didn't help. Now I regret why the hell did I spend so much to get such a crapy phone. My phone is always covered in Unicorn beetle case. Still the camera lens seems to be hell lot scratched.
Worked

I think you should give it a try. The toothpaste method.
Take a Q tip and rub the toothpaste on it. Have patience, so it for good 5-8 minutes and make sure you are applying good amount of pressure.
Then you could do the same using Surgical Spirit instead of toothpaste for another good 5 minutes. That should do it.
Hi guys
Can you check curved edges part of display near top and bottom portion to see when pressed with little pressure whether screen goes down ? Especially near front facing camera .
Thank You
Checked near the front camera area and yes ,the screen goes down a little upon pressing in the edges with little pressure.

Mine as well.
@Yash24 , @tiberiuharcsa thanks guys for confirming regarding this issue.
Have it, too. But no problem. Seems to be normal.

Well I would't call a loose and slightly moving screen something normal...

And what is to do now? Maybe all Z Plays have this. You must look very critical to see this "issue". For me it's ok. There is no 100% perfect phone.
But is the issue bigger, then I would call the support.

I agree, it's not a major issue, I was thinking to take of the screen completley and reglue it using some duble sided tape... But there is a risk of breaking the screen in the proces... It's not worth it
What about putting duck tape across top and bottom of the screen? Don't forget to make holes for loudspeaker, front camera and proximity sensor. And for microphone and fingerprint at bottom
So, you're all saying that tbe whole screen is moving a bit in the case? Check teardown and you'll see that is actually glued. Not my favorite solution but I suppose is cost effective.

Yah it's glued and very liberally glued at the top and the bottom of the screen. How do I know? Broke my screen a few months ago and replaced my screen myself.

That's good news, actually. I've watched some tear down videos and guy was heating screen before trying to take it off.
From where and for how much you got replacement?

Bought a screen off eBay, yes you need to heat up the glue underneath the screen with a heat gun.
Got the new screen in after I had to remove all the small piece of glass that was still glued but it's not an easy repair and I still have screen issues I assume the screen isn't the same quality as the original one which comes with a silver backing plate.
In bright sunlight my screen turns blue
The battery maybe will never die, because a bigger LiPo much longer live as a small one and we just load again all 2 or 3 days. So that's ok that's build in. Maybe the screen is much earlier broken. Hope it doesn't broke
My battery has 3600mAh(3597)

So Moto should make it even less glued for easy repair
Btw, you forgot the price

175 Canadian labour free because I did the repair.
No moto shouldn't use any less glue, just don't drop your phone is my advise

I don't think that anyone is planning to drop the phone. Except maybe Turbo 2/Force.

Ironically, mine got green lines literally sitting on the desk.
I can confirm my phone has the same problem near the top left corner. It is so disappointing to see such a bad build quality.
If you observe carefully just above volume up button screen is not even inside the aluminum frame there is slight gap. And if you apply little pressure screen goes down. Is this normal ?

Yes, normal. Maybe it's make easier to get the sceen away to replace the battery. Normally you can't see this. You must really look exactly
