Does this phone support Carrier Aggregation? - Samsung Galaxy A70 Questions & Answers

Can anyone confirm or deny if this phone supports Carrier Aggregation? It's also known as LTE-A, LTE-Advanced, LTE+, etc.
Thank you! :fingers-crossed:

My carrier shows it as 4.5G. So, yeah it does support.

It's Türk Telekom. As I know, 4.5G is the same thing with LTE+. Tell me if that's wrong .P

Definitely supports LTE+ on the Canadian A70 I have. I tested yesterday and was able to get 150 Mbps. That's definitely carrier aggregation. Even if CA is active, the bandwidth to the tower might not be there, so it's not a magic speed solution. Especially if the remote server can't send stuff out fast enough.

Yes this device support CA, i have two different variants supported combos:
EU-model: https://cacombos.com/device?model=SM-A705F
LATIM/SEA-model: https://cacombos.com/device?model=SM-A705MN
If you have different model, there is way to get combinations out from your model: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/ (scroll down to Samsung section). Please send your modem log to https://cacombos.com/contribute so cacombos.com could update your model details.

The A705FN model definitely supports Advanced LTE.

Strange that they have limited this on the phone their version is the global one right?
Maybe if we press Realme he will release Carrier Aggregation, do you have the link of the email or forum?
yes, global model with b20, even I could not believe it, probably lte + is not essential but I still cannot understand how it is possible that it is absent in a medium-high end device in 2020. I'm also looking for a forum or an email to ask for explanations.

Apparently a large part of these medium-high Chinese smartphones have support for Carrier Aggregation blocked I saw in some post how to unlock the MI9 Chinese version and other phones
may work on Realme X2, however when I get mine I'll do the tests and try to unlock although I think it hardly reaches those speeds in my country and data plan,
well at least there is the B28 band that is not much like that price segment

Oppo RealMe X2 support only Contiguous CA: https://cacombos.com/device?model=RMX1993EX - So this is reason why you don't get LTEA working in your network because your network do Non-Contiguous CA.

https://cacombos.com/device/SM-G986W Because your device doesn't support Carrier Aggregation combinations between 3, 5 and 40. You can check that easily on linked website.

Both model support CA but different combinations. Canada model is optimized to Canadian networks and Global to Global networks like India, Europe, Australia, Middle East... Just different models are targeted to different market area.

T-Mobile US compatibility of A50 NA/US version

Hey all. I'm looking to pick up a A50 but I'm having difficulty finding information on it's compatibility with T-Mobile. Does anyone here have the 64GB or 128GB variants of the North American A50 and can confirm full compatibility with T-Mobile's LTE network? Also does Wi-Fi calling work?
I'm currently looking at the 64GB model sold by Best Buy and Amazon (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA). I'd like to get the 128GB international model (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA) but I don't think it works on T-Mobile.

Check what bands you need in the phone, and I think it will works. But you can google everything about this. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.re...ne_bought_the_us_unlocked_galaxy_a50_from_bh/

VoLTE and VoWiFi are depends on your carrier too. The phone support these, but that's not means T-mobile too.
I have VoLTE for sure.

T-Mobile supports VoLTE and VoWiFi on compatible phones like my Nokia 7.1. Sadly you can only confirm a phone is compatible by entering an IMEI and I don't want to buy this phone just to have to return if it's not supported.
As you can see my version of the phone is FN, but I have VoLTE (Right upper corner).
But are you ok T-Mobile's US network? If not, you can't answer my question.

Galaxy S20+ SM G986N

Hello to all,
i recently bought the Galaxy S20+ G986N, mine is a korean version!
Now I accidentally read that the 3G/4G and 5G networks are limited! --> I did not know before!
Is it possible to unlock the networks?
Thanks in advance and regards
Daniel
PS:
Is it possible to unlock the Dual Sim version here? Since this is a SingleSim!
Allegedly yes if you bought the phone sans mobile network, pop you sim inside and talk to someone for 10 minutes, on your local network that is, it should reset to a "domestic" flavor of networks... it can be checked via the secret menu *#60# or something like that (google is your friend if not), dough snapdragon has no issue whatsoever with working on any network, the network locked ones and usa specific ones are a different thing, - even those can be made to work.
I was not aware any of the s10 and s20 series come with just a single sim as one slot can be used for sdcard and a sim... Give it a shot, you already bought the phone anyways...
I also just mean the 5g net. I guess only the Sub6 n78 is activated here. The mmwave not at all!
The question is, does it have a software or hardware limitation? If software, which one can I install via odin?

In fact 5G limited not only by software, but by hardware too, every band protocol of 5G requires appropriate specific antenna to be installed in your device. Moreover, you can't flash anything except the firmware designed for N version (no U/U1 whatsoever options) because of boot-loader.
Thanks for your reply.
For mmwave you need hardware, but I guess for Sub6 it's only limited by sw?!?
5g supported bands are limited by hardware.
Korean models only support 5G n78.
Hope this helps

Many thanks. Of course it helps...is there's a possibility to unlock the other frequencies which aren't limited by hardware?

It's possible (4G bands) on some old phones (pre-835 era), but not so much these days though
Thanks for your reply. Not so much means, currently no possibility?

Question Oneplus 9 pro telus 5G

Hi, I have a question about telus 5G, anyone can connect telus 5G network? I don't even have 5G switch in setting.
thank you!
I have a OP9 and same issue. Data is also very slow but that could be a separate issue.
If it's available/provisioned to your SIM, I'd assume that setting your Preferred Network Type to the variant that includes 5G should allow it to be received.
I support some clients on Telus, but I'm not well versed in how they're rolling out 5G and/or what bands they're using, etc.

I called telus, it was banned by their side, won't be supported, but they also told me that for now in canada, all 5G providers are not providing 'real' 5G, just use 4G is still fast.

That's unfortunate. I swear I remember my OnePlus 8 Pro being 5G compatible though. I never saw it in the status bar but it was an option inside settings. Strange that the 9 is not seeing 5G anywhere.
Maybe someone will come out with some kind of mod or tool to force 5G.
Hola
Sad situation this is. Stranger still is that I had a Xiaomi Mi 10 last year and I was able to get 5G in certain locations. And at one point Telus was the least restrictive when it came to VoLTE and WiFi Calling enablement on non-Telus branded phones.
5G is not enabled in Telus 5G-network. Here is listed 5G supported devices: https://mt.ax/0x390
To enable 5G, you can follow my blog guide: https://mt.ax/uLgc2 .

Question Do all the Pixel phones support the same bands?

I live in Dubai and I know for a fact that the UK uses the same bands that we use here so I wouldn't have connectivity issues with LTE/5G.
Now, the Pixel 6 Pro is out of stock at the Google Store UK; so my question is if I buy from let's say Google Store Australia or US, are the supported bands the same or do they use different bands for different Pixel phones depending on the region its sold in?
No. Only the US, Japan, and Australia models support mmwave.
All models should support the same 4G and sub6 5G bands though.

right, so a US Pixel 6 Pro would have connectivity issues in Dubai/UK or would it still work and get 5G signal?
No issues. Provided your carrier doesn't whitelist for 5G or use an unusual band, it should work fine.
