Where can programs be found for download that run natively on Bada on the Samsung Wave S8500, and how can I install those programs? I'm considering buying myself a Samsung Wave S8500. Also, please note the title of this thread is what it was going to be called before, and I'm not looking for any such solutions for Java apps.

SHP is possible if your provider supports it.
Palringo is and was ALWAYS possible. go to palringo.com or palringo.mobi with your phone's browser and install the unsigned version (Bada 2.0) or the signed version (Bada 1.x).
Then go to "Java" and start Palringo as a normal Java application.
this is what he is talking about http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/20110722213029.jpg
Well, that's just a shortcut, you'd need to change the source-code of SH's IM to achieve that, if it's not possible like that (and it's not, as I have Palringo installed and it's not embedded). Since no one of us got the source...
Hi! I just want to know if SDK supports all resolutions even 240x400 and if we can make apps for all bada vesrions even bada 1.1? bada 2.0 will be released for wave 525 series?
Thanks!
Yes its available !!
seriosly you mean i can make opengl 2.0 games ? for bada 1.1? becouse i have some flash apps with 3d open gl platform and works fine (Shockwave Flash)
Hi,
I need the old Bada SDKs for development (e.g. SDK 1.1 and SDK 1.2). Samsung offers only SDK 2.0.x and language packs which do not support a smooth development process.
Has anyone still these old SDKs and could upload/provide them for me?
Thanks!
Hi guys,
Can anyone extract the new version of Dolfin (3.0.whatever) from Bada 2.0.1 firmware for S8530 (preferably S8530XXLA1/S8530OXFLA2) and make a ZIP archive of all the relevant folders /files (OAP really, just like the archives for 4pp1st / w4mp go)?
I want to try and run the new version of Dolfin on Bada 1.2 because we at CIS countries still don't have an official Bada 2.0.1 firmware and no definite release date - and the browser sucks much less in Bada 2.x.
As I remember nobody was able to replace Dolfin 2 in bada 1.2
Example from XXJL2 to XXJID or something like this...
Are you really sure now it is easier?
bada 2.0 has MAJOR changes...
Sorry, but this is nearly impossible.
Best Regards

I'm not going to replace Dolfin 2. My idea is to install and run Dolfin 3.0 as a separate non-system application.
Of course I'm not sure if this works — but I'd like to try my luck
if it is written by SDK 2.0 so it cannot be installed on 1.0 !!
and if not you can easily install it using wamp server (if it is like a regular program)

Oh about that
I think it is possible to replace dolfin in XXJL2 with the one in XXJID
Just simple replacement of .so file
NOT TESTED !!
About Dolfin from 2.0 for bada 1.2
This is not impossible in one case....The case that our guy right here is a real hard working developer who is ready to give weeks if not months in working on this
A first step in the right way is getting Dolfin's source code from samsung's open source website : http://opensource.samsung.com/
Next step is porting it to bada 1.2
Good luck
Best Regards

This.
I just want to find out how deep the rabbit hole is, so to say. Perhaps the Samsung devs didn't use much from the new SDK.

Unfortunately I'm not a developer (an average dev guy usually makes more money and does more fun stuff at work than an average tech writer) However, I'm a former Windows Mobile user - so I know quite a bit about tweaking stuff. And I do remember that some applications from WM 5.0 worked without a single problem or glitch under WM 6.5 (one major and at least two minor versions upstream).
Hi everyone,
I wondered if we could somehow install Java Apps in CFWs as native Bada apps instead of the current method (where Java Apps ony show up in Games&More and we CFW developers need to find a fitting icon already inside the CFW).
It is possible: The Wave 578 Market has some Java Games from Gameloft, which are installed and show up as regular Bada Apps. When looking at the folder structure of these apps, we find the (dcf encrypted) JAR and JAD file instead of EXE.
Creating something like this ourselves for, f.e., Google Maps, would be easy, safe for one point: signature.xml, which contains (you guessed it) the signature of the file. If it worked out, we could install, f.e. via SHPAPP or PFS patches.
The upsides of this:
Create your own icon for Java Apps.
Uninstallable Java Aps in main menu.
Easy insertion into CFWs (no need to find fitting icons anymore).
So, does anyone know what to do about signature.xml? B. Kubicas DisableBadaIntegrity won't help, right?
