[Question] Install unsigned java apps

Hey guys im using jbed on my Dash and when i install and run unsigned java apps it always ask me to allow connect internet , read/write user data etc..
so is there any way to remove those security mess ?
btw, how to change icon of a cab file ? becoz some cab apps have so ugly icon and i want to change to my own icon

Opera Mini
Using version 4.2 (I think) of Opera Mini on my excalibur, i always get those messages.

uninstall opera 4.2 you already have on your phone
Go to mini.opera.com using internet explorer, then click the link "if the version fails to install..."
after that click "download opera mini (multiple certificates)"
it will install and ask about permissions, answer "always allow" for everything.
You can also start the java app and at opera click actions/security and even allow more permisions such as uploading and downloading from opera.
as for changing icons i have no clue, but it may be possible.

its Gmail Mobile from Google , i cant find an signed version for that app

im not sure about gmail, i never used it.

The Opera Mini Version for Nokia E61 works just fine and does not prompt for permissions. I use it together with the Jbed 3D mod here

Java/Jbed on 2.2?

Anyone got any idea how to run Java files on 2.2? Jbed isn't installed (nor will it when i grab it from my 2.1) - and I need to run my *blushes* Subway Card program!

[Q] How to customize official ROM for Htc Diamond ?

First, I own a P3700 with 2.03.479.2 WWE ROM. My question is: is it possible to customize this official ROM, I mean I want to remove unnecesary applications for me (like Youtube, Opera, Rss Hub). I want a simple ROM, without those annoying apps. I don't want to make major modifications, only to tune the ROM a lil' bit . Best regards from Romania !

you can just delete the shortcuts and pretend they were not there
kidding aside, original roms are already fast and stable even with those apps. not sure if possible although another option, there are chefs that have 6.1 basic with less apps.

BEFORE YOU FLASH, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HSPL INSTALLED ON YOUR DEVICE. ELSE YOU WIL NOT BE ABLE TO FLASH CUSTOM MADE ROMS LIKE THIS ONE. SEARCH HOW TO INSTALL HSPL
Based On: 2.03.479.2 WWE (as stated above)
Build: Same as in ROM (20764)
Removed:
-Opera
-RSSHub
-YouTube
-SampleMusic (No Need)
Added
-NONE
Side Effect
-Since Opera has been removed, you can no longer use the Touch FLO 3D Internet Tab to open Opera. Even if you press the globe, nothing will happen.

I just downloaded the rom file you have mentioned above (2.03.479.2) via official site. Extracted it using Ervius Kitchen. Removed the said apps and rebuilt the ROM file again.
Try this out and let me know if you need anything else removed / added. (Btw do give me sometime as well, as i m cramming for my exams)

This is exactly what ive been doing over the last couple of days. Its taken a little while because ive had to learn to cook from scratch.
I have settled with ervius kitchen. It would make for a long post to explain it all but the most helpful post in getting me started was this one.....

I alterred the datacache, pagepool and the
I use the newest ervius kithchen. I extracted the .nbh from the installer of the offical HTC 1.93 ROM using winrar (simple right click and extract to.... will present the .nbh)
I just put the .nbh in the root of the ervius directory.
Dump nbh/nb/payload
Then in ervius I used the tools to change the datacache to 4mb (from 2mb) and the pagepool to 12mb.
I excluded (as far as I can remember!)
autoupdate, onenote, office, welcome center, microsoft live, then a host of apps including youtube, voice recorder etc etc.
Make sure you disable the checkbox that tells the kitchen you have a win mob 6.5 native kernel and then click build!
Once its has finished the new .nbh will be in the ReleasedDiamond folder.
On the rom I had Opera was the default browser and is installed as a cab when you first boot your phone. If the cab isn't there the boot sequence stalls and the phone wont work. There is a file some where called ConfigAP (I think its called that! I typing from memory!) which has two lines.... the first being opera 9.7 blah blah .cab.Just delete that line. I think its in the OEM folder. I just did a windows search for it.
My intentions were to installed sense 2.1 on a stripped down official ht rom. Sense has been a bit buggy for me so at the moment im using a rom that doesnt have sense or manila and it is lightening fast!!!

I did spend two days solid learning about cooking and would love to do a laymans guide but I feel I dont know enough yet. It would be good to consolidate the hundreds of useful posts! Im glad I spent the time and learned though!

i m also using a stripped down 2.03 OEM with Build 21057. i dont need sense 2.1 or 2.5
its sluggish, buggy and takes a lot of RAM which cud be used for more useful programs

Why Socialhub Premium does not work by Default

Samusung intended that socialhub premium will be active in all countries where it is available by default.
But unfortunately, the server/web address of samsung socialhub inscribed in
in all previous bada firmware (bada 1.2 and backward), is not working (is dead).
In previous firmware, in the the file "clientstrings-en_US.lan",
the web address was http://eu020.fra.samsungsocialhub.com. This web address is dead.
So we need to change this address manually in the "clientstrings-en_US.lan" file to
the correct and working web address: http://na010.fra.samsungsocialhub.com.
NB:
For bada 1.2 and previous, you can replace the "clientstrings-en_US.lan" with the one from bada 2.0 firmware,
then edit csc file to "premium" or "basicplus".
Correction:
Please the socialhub web address in bada 2.0 is the same old http://eu020.fra.samsungsocialhub.com.
I mistakenly viewed the info from a bada 2.0 "clientstrings-en_US.lan" that I already modified.
I have deleted the erroneous statement that bada 2.0 came with the correct web address of http://na010.fra.samsungsocialhub.com
So there is still need for modifying files in bada 2.0 (just as in bada1.2) to activate socialhub premium.

That's really interesting, thanks for posting! Do you think that service address is going to change again in near future? Or maybe we have to wait bada 2.0 to the url become final?

I think someone needs to notify Samsung about this. Otherwise they may not even know this error exist. And as long as they still use the same old "clientstrings-en_US.lan" file without changing the old socialhub premium web address therein, the error will persist.

If you have the modified "clientstrings-en_US.lan" for bada 1.2, it's the same for bada 2.0. So you can extract the "clientstrings-en_US.lan" file from any modified firmware with socialhub premium activated (whether bada 1.2 or bada 2.0).

[Q] Porting new Dolfin browser from Bada 2.0.1 to 1.2 (S8530)

Hi guys,
Can anyone extract the new version of Dolfin (3.0.whatever) from Bada 2.0.1 firmware for S8530 (preferably S8530XXLA1/S8530OXFLA2) and make a ZIP archive of all the relevant folders /files (OAP really, just like the archives for 4pp1st / w4mp go)?
I want to try and run the new version of Dolfin on Bada 1.2 because we at CIS countries still don't have an official Bada 2.0.1 firmware and no definite release date - and the browser sucks much less in Bada 2.x.

As I remember nobody was able to replace Dolfin 2 in bada 1.2
Example from XXJL2 to XXJID or something like this...
Are you really sure now it is easier?
bada 2.0 has MAJOR changes...
Sorry, but this is nearly impossible.

I'm not going to replace Dolfin 2. My idea is to install and run Dolfin 3.0 as a separate non-system application.
Of course I'm not sure if this works — but I'd like to try my luck

if it is written by SDK 2.0 so it cannot be installed on 1.0 !!
and if not you can easily install it using wamp server (if it is like a regular program)

Oh about that
I think it is possible to replace dolfin in XXJL2 with the one in XXJID
Just simple replacement of .so file
NOT TESTED !!
About Dolfin from 2.0 for bada 1.2
This is not impossible in one case....The case that our guy right here is a real hard working developer who is ready to give weeks if not months in working on this
A first step in the right way is getting Dolfin's source code from samsung's open source website : http://opensource.samsung.com/
Next step is porting it to bada 1.2

I just want to find out how deep the rabbit hole is, so to say. Perhaps the Samsung devs didn't use much from the new SDK.

Unfortunately I'm not a developer (an average dev guy usually makes more money and does more fun stuff at work than an average tech writer) However, I'm a former Windows Mobile user - so I know quite a bit about tweaking stuff. And I do remember that some applications from WM 5.0 worked without a single problem or glitch under WM 6.5 (one major and at least two minor versions upstream).
