New Xperia XA2 some options gone after unlocking Bootloader - Sony Xperia XA2 Questions & Answers

I bought a new XA2 and installed all updates so it was on Android 9 and Firmware 50.2.A.0.400.
There was the Option to Format SDCard as internal Storage and an Option to Move the Clock in the Statusbar to the righ Side. Then unlocked the Bootloader from my XA2 according to instructions from Sony.
After that that the Phone have still Android 9 and Firmware 50.2.A.0.400 but no Option to move the Clock in the statusbar to the right side and no Option to format SD Card as internal storage.
My Questions:
Where are these Options gone?
How can i relock the Bootloader (flashtool BLU doesn't work)?

That are Android Pie changes google introduced, so re-locking bootloader won't change anything. Only way to change it is to go back to Android Oreo.

No:
Android 9 and Firmware 50.2.A.0.400 locked Bootloader --> Options ok
Android 9 and Firmware 50.2.A.0.400 unlocked Bootloader --> Options gone
Same Android, same Firmware but different Bootloader states.

Well I use the same version and I have no that options. Bootloader is locked.

Hm Strange but I know they were there. Format as internal Storage was the reason i ordered a faster SD Card.
Perhaps a difference in the different firmware of the countries? I came from Germany.

No, firmwares should be the same.
As I said it is Android Pie change.

[NO ROOT] [BOOTLOADER LOCK] How to install an update [DLOAD Method]

I'm very happy
After spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to install an original firmware using the dload method, I managed to find a guide that explains how to do it and today I will report the main steps:
First of all, we need the Service Firmware of our device. It can be found here http://androidhost.ru/search.html. From this site you have to search ane-l01 (or ane-l21 if your device is dual sim). So download the relevant firmware (p.s. I saw there aren't the latest firmwares, in my case I installed the 8.0.0.149 version, not the 8.0.0.154 ).
Then extract the "Software" folder and copy the "dload" folder (with its contents!) to the external sd card.
Finally, enter to the project menu from dialer typing *#*#2846579#*#* ==> Software Upgrade ==> SdCard Upgrade.
Wait for the installation and before configuring the device enter in Recovery Mode (from the phone off, VOLUME-UP + POWER ON) and make Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Reboot System Now.
@Merlin_99, I was looking for this "dload package" for a while, thanks to share.
So, this mean that in the end the of firmware installation the bootloader will be locked.
This is good news for the guys that want lock bootloader instead of relock.

No, so far B156 is better even than B160. I got flickering in the B160, so I moved to B156, not perfect but much better.
Now I'm in B150 because is the last firmware available that I can lock (not relock) the bootloader, I'm thinking sell the phone...

Good mornin all
Thanks a lot man, I was hoping for a solution for the "lock" state for months and this is just perfect and works! I only have the Build 150 though because it's the last OTA I got on my country just like @kilroystyx so I can get that perfect "lock" state :good: .
This gets us the warranty back which is great, I was afraid of losing it due to the "relock" state, it's strange because Huawei is the only company I know that does this on warranty stuff after a lock of a bootloader...Weird...
Anyway, great job!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again,
AS

Pixel XL Update from Android 7 to Android 9 or 10

Hello All,
I ordered a brand new never-opened Pixel XL from Amazon. I was wondering, what would be the fastest way to update it to Android 10? It most likely will be on 7.1.1 out of the box. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

If the IMIE starts with 35 it is a Verizon Pixel XL the bootloader is locked. Before you update you may want to try and unlock the bootloader.

It might be 'Carrier Unlocked', that is not the same as bootloader unlocked. Carrier unlock means you should be able to use it on any carrier. Bootloader unlock means you can root it.

Well i am on Android 9, and it haves the same toggle. You have go to command prompt to officially unlock the bootloader. And that is already a hardship because you need an unlock code, Listen to @NekoMichi

This toggle doesn't actually unlock the bootloader, it only enables the Fastboot command for bootloader unlocking. In order to execute the command the bootloader key is required. Bootloader unlocking is not your average everyday task which is why there are 2 layers of security before you can unlock.

True, if it was any other phone brand. The unlocking process is much more simpler. Xiaomi - Wait a week or so to get BL unlock. Google Phones - command prompt to BL unlock, Asus, same with unlock tool. If it was before Huawei barred BL unlock codes, unlocking would not be a problem. Although.... Honor Note 10, Roms have started to come out but that is only if you can find a web page service that can give the BL unlock. Seems like Devs are pulling through for that device already.
Who knows, really, if devs want to take a stride with this device. Perhaps one day soon lol. :silly:

OnePlus 7T flash to global - relock bootloader

Hi - I have HD1907 T-mobile that I flashed to global. I want to re-lock the bootloader so no issues with any apps, and don't get the warning when I boot. But when I relock it I get the device corrupted error. Is there anyway to do this?
I just want the global flash for dual sim. Don't need bootloader unlock.
Thanks in advance!
I'm in the same boat and I've asked the same question here but no replies.

Also are you saying the partition will automatically "go back to the way it should after factory settings lock bootlader" or is there something else to be done?
Just flash Global on fastboot, then just run your global. Go to Settings>Factory Reset

I converted my tmobile to international a few days ago using the guide on xda. I think this used 10.0.03 as the initial international rom. I made sure to do an ota (full update 2.75 gb) to 10.0.15. At this point I was on the official oneplus software and not the version used to convert and had no issues relocking the bootloader with fastboot oem lock command.
Was watching Netflix on my converted 7T last night.

I know this doesn't answer the first part of your question directly but it works the other way. I have installed CN on my EU model. Interesting that there's a few extra settings in the CN such as updating the GPU directly.
I'm on the latest CN firmware V2.26 and the battery is much better but probably due to all the battery saving default settings.

Yes, you can change the payload_properties.txt in the rom of the region you want to flash. Change the text "nx729j_un" or "nx729j_**" for " NUBIA_SUBVERSION to "nx729j". Put the modified rom in the root directory and use local update. You do not have to unlock the bootloader to do this. If this does not work then you have to unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery of the rom in the region you want to change to and use sideload to flash the rom. However the second method might mess up your phone and you might not be able to boot your phone.

In the payload_properties.txt, change the text "nx729j_un" for " NUBIA_SUBVERSION to "nx729j". Put the modified rom in the root directory and use local update. You do not have to unlock the bootloader to do this. If this does not work then you have to unlock the bootloader by go to bootloader and in the command window type
fastboot flashing unlock
Follow the direction to unlock the phone
You need to extract the payload.bin from the CN rom, then use payload dumper or fastboot enhance to extract recovery.img from the payload.bin. Go to bootloader and flash the recovery of the CN rom (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
Then reboot to recovery, choose English when you see "Wipe data" type
adb reboot sideload
Once your phone boots into sideload mode (When you see the two error line at the bottom of the screen) type
adb sideload NX729J-update.zip (this is the CN rom you want to flash)
Whether the transfer is successful or not you can wipe the data and reboot the phone. If the transfer is successful you will be in the CN rom, if not you should be back to your own Global rom. The sideload will load the new rom to the other slot so it should not change the current slot.
I'm terms of unlocking the bootloader all I have to do is go into fastboot mode (with OEM unlock, USB debugger selected on the phone of course) and type in the "fastboot flashing unlock" command and whatever next steps I'm supposed to do? Also I have not set fingerprint and or security pin on this phone yet and I've read that people are having issues with them after unlocking bootloader. Is your bootloader unlocked? If so are you having pin/fingerprint issues and if not was there anything you need to do to avoid the issue when unlocking the bootloader? TY!
