Today i received my note 10+ and noticed weird feature/Bug. No matter what type of charging i use (wireless or Cable) there is a charging message/status of type of charging , capacity and remaining time at the bottom of the screen. I tried turn on/off AOD , screensaver , that message is still there and im lil bit afraid of burn in . Anyone noticed the same and am i worried with reason? How can i turn it off? Thx in advance

Using holey light?
You mean like this?
This is normal. And this is from a note 9
Also there is no burn in from AOD because
AOD moves very little after a few secs so it doesnt stay in same position.

Yeah and no, like that but not on locked screen . When i turn off screen i see only that message at the bottom, nothing else, and AOD and screensaver is turned off. Is that some sort of forced AOD only when charging cause i would like to turn that off, dont need that status. Weird thing is that i didnt have that on S10e..

sorry for going off-topic: what app are you using to show the LTE band in the lock screen?!
Ya its driving me nuts too, no idea how to turn it off. My note 9 does not do this.
Yes, omg, I need to turn this off too. Even if it does shift over a couple pixels it will cause burn-in in that general area. This is a no-no

Not correct. With the Note 9, you can have AOD turn off after a certain time, when AOD turned off the entire screen went black. So for me, at 11pm my screen was solid black and by 7am my AOD was back on.
Kept me from having a mini light during the night. I am not a fan of this being forced on. Mostly due to the high possibility of screen burn in as it doesn't shift much.
I was able to do it! However it requires not having Always on display. Here's how it's done. I purchased package disabler pro which is about $3 for the app. I then disabled always on display entirely from the app. I figured just turning it off in the settings app wont do it since it's always running in the background. However disabling it with package disabler seemed to do the trick and now I no longer get the charging indicator while the screen is off.
You could have done it with disabling/uninstalling with ADB instead, and for free.

Is there any more "normal" way to do that?
Maybe they'll fix that with future update, but that gonna be soon coz we will end up with burned screens.

I got the package disabler from here https://www.packagedisabler.com/ . It's kind of shady so I advise to use PayPal. You will need to enable the option to sideload applications, do a search for 'unknown sources' on the phone, should pop-up right away. Download the app from the site, search it with the file explorer and install it, you should also receive a code in your email after you pay, paste it. Scroll down until you see 'Always on Display' and select disable. This worked for me. The app is more than $3.00 as they charge in Euros. Hope this help :cyclops:

So I just got this phone and upgraded from Nexus 4. I really liked when the phone was charging how it would show just the time but dimmed. When i charge the G3 it just dims the home screen and stays there. Never goes to daydream or sleep and shows the time. Very annoying. I tried turning on "either" or "charging' on the daydream setting, but no luck. Anyone else have issues?
Yeah mine doesn't start automatically either. I have to manually start it.

Kind of defeats the purpose. I dont need my home screen, which stays in one spot, causing burn in while my phone charges.
Doubt burn-in will be an issue, but yeah it's annoying. I use Ocean HD which is an amazing live wallpaper which has a daydream option. Still doesn't start auto though.
Did you change the settings within day dream.. There are 3 options. Docked, charging, or both
None of them seem to make a difference.
Hmm will try it out and let you know

Fixed!! There is an option under developer options that says screen will never time out while charging or soemthing to that effect. It was prechecked for some reason. I unchecked it and daydream now works!

No root, no need to download or install anything.
This work for other devices as well as the Note 4. This enables the Google now "Ok Google" Feature where you can active Google now while the screen is off. This is something like the Moto X feature.
How To:
1) Open Google Now
2) Go to Google Now Settings
3) Click on "Voice"
4) Enable "Audio History"
5) Click "Ok Google Detection"
6)Click "Always on" and follow the remaining directions.
You Can also watch this How To Video if you want:
If you device is unsupported or it just wont work, then there is an app called "Open Mic+ for Google Now" which does this for you.
This also works on the Lg G3, Nexus 5, and Galaxy S5, from what I know. Please feel free to try other devices and let me know if they work as well.
For anyone who wanted to know, this dose not kill the better. It doesn't even show and you wouldn't notice it was on until you said "Ok Google"

Only had the phone for 8 hours too soon to tell if it's a major battery drain. However my understanding of the snapdragon 805 is it has some type of architecture built which always apps to run in a low power mode without draining much battery and Google now uses this feauture.

The first day I had the phone I used it all day and had 2% battery life when I went to bed. Woke up about 6 hours later and though it has died. Nope still on 1%, so what you say could be true.
I have this enabled and can say that my battery life is great with it turned on.....of course this a completely subjective post. But I see nothing that indicates any type of additional strain on the battery. Playing a couple of hours of XCOM however...
Only works when SVoice is on
Something to note (no pun intended), when I have SVoice disabled, I don't have any setting "Always on", however when I reenable it("Turn it On") in the app manager I get the option.

i didn't have S voice enabled when i got this working.
Here is my power usage over night not plugged in with nothing else to compete with the voice activation. Although my battery life is still pretty good, considering the circumstance, this is definitely eating away at it.
Found that when you don't use the feature for a period of time it turns off. Not completely off but, i found that I would have to go into the google now then exit for it to work again. Anyone else find to have this problem as well?

I have noticed the same exact thing. The phone 'OK Google' doesn't work with the screen off, only when I turn the screen on or plug it in for a charge. Not a big deal, but I was hoping it would work without a screen being on. Still fun to use that function, it makes me feel like I'm in the 'OK Google' commercial

Same here, Screen off unplug or plug in.
Just got my lovely Note 4 today. I can confirm that "Ok Google" works for me with the phone unplugged, screen off, and lockscreen enabled.
I didn't follow the instructions in this thread. I was aware of how to activate the feature from prior experience. I'm not sure what step some of you all missed along the way to make this feature work.
I know there's another auto brightness thread but I think my problem is different. I'll turn it on, leave the phone in standby for a while, and when I use the phone again I find the auto brightness doesn't have the check mark there anymore? Has anyone else noticed this?
I was wondering why my battery was draining so fast when I was using it. That's when I realized my setting was at full brightness but the Auto had become unchecked so it was running at 100 constantly without auto adjusting. I've used the 100/Auto checked on all my other Samsung devices dating back to the Note 2 and S3.
I'm thinking it's a software glitch which will hopefully be fixed in a future update. If it is, I'll live with it for now...
I actually had the same issue and I found that the issue was related to game recorder app I just uninstalled and now is fine
Interesting... I don't have any kind of recorder apps so I'm kind of at a loss as to what other app could cause that...

For what it's worth, I started having other issues yesterday morning. When I first got the phone, and did the OTA, I did a factory reset as was widely recommended to do. Apparently it din't clear up everything.
What I ended up doing was, yesterday, I did another reset using the Samsung Smart Switch software. I backed up what I could, let it reset, and restored afterward. So far it's been 24 hrs and no issues.

Interesting.. car mode is the culprit? That's not the only bug in that app then. There's an option to auto close the app when the bluetooth connection is disconnected from the car.. it doesn't work for me.

i dont think so its a ambient display, it is screensaver that sometimes shows up. i am also facing same, so just turn off your screensaver in display->screensaver
It's curious, yesterday an WhatsApp notification appeared at my lockscreen as a ambient display notification.
I didn't even downloaded some application to do it and now it's not happening anymore.
It was an isolated event lol
I stumbled on Reddit at this cool App that simulates a Notification LED using the actual screen. It was also featured on XDA and I decided to give it a try on the Mi9T. The App is called NotifyBuddy and is available for free on the Play Store.
My experience with it over a whole day was great. It actually looks like an LED lighting up. Since we have a Amoled screen it just uses a tiny part of the screen, so there is no huge battery drain. Also to prevent burn in it moves slightly in position every 5 to 10 minutes or so from left to right. You can have different colors for different Apps and how long the LED effect will be active until switching off. I have mine on for 5 minutes.
My major concern was battery life since when the App is active the phone probably doesn't go to deep sleep but after now 24 hours of the phone being unplugged I can say it's great. Just look at the Screenshots. I'm at 50% right now and almost 4,5 hours of SOT over 24 hours of usage. It works very well so far and if this doesn't get worse there is no reason to not keep it. Try it out guys if you are missing a Notification LED on the actual front of the phone.
App link:

I advise you to try this:
1. Remove the fingerprint.
2. Run the application, when you first start, allow notifybuddy to run in the backgroup, display locks on the screen.
3. And then create a fingerprint.
4. Reboot the phone.
A
- I received the 10.3.10 by OTA... (you can manualy check for update into the "about phone" section)
- NotifyBuddy is working with Fingerprint unlock activated. The fingerprints where created before installing the app.
Tried deleting fingerprint before installing the app.
Then tried again after.
Could not make it work. If anyone has any more suggestions, they will be very much appreciated.
Using Global Stable 10.3.10.0

Prof Reminder. Use this app and forget about any other app that involves notification LED. I use this app since i received this Mi9T. When you have missed notification (WhatsApp, sms, call, etc), this app reminds you over and over.... Sorry if it's off topic or something but i just try to help! Respect!
