Hi ,
Fingerprint animation changed from a wavy motion to a more stuttering green one after the 19th of august update , is there any way to revert that one change?
P.S: update notes only mentioned :
- camera quality enhancement
- QR code scanner addition.
So nothing mentioned about any modifications in the fingerprint.
Yeah, it wasn't mentioned, but changed. Also, they added super steady mode option to video recording without mentioning.
Animation is not the only thing that changed about fingerprint scanner, they also improved it and its a little faster, compared to the older versions.
And there is no way to revert the animation to the way it used to be. I mean, if you don't downgrade.
does anyone by any chance know where the animation is stored ? i have root and i would love to replace the animation file with one from Oneplus

There is a topic about how to achieve root access on your A70.
can you please share the proper way to root my A70 ? my device is SM-A705FN/DS and it's got Android Security Patch 1 July 2019 and A705FNXXU3ASG6

The Galaxy A50 got the June security update in India earlier this week, promising the usual stability improvements along with a variety of security patches. But as we’ve been tipped by one of our readers via Twitter, the update appears to include a couple of extra features that go by unmentioned in the changelog. Specifically, firmware version A505FDDU2ASF2 seems to bring along Night mode and Super Slow-mo video recording. In addition to that, the phone can now scan QR codes from the camera app without requiring Bixby Vision, a feature that recently came to the Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S10 as well.
Galaxy A50 owners in India who have updated to the June security patch but don’t have access to these two new camera features should try resetting their camera settings. This was also the case for the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A40, which received a regular slow-motion camera mode through a software update and required a reset of the camera settings before the mode was actually usable. You can reset camera settings by opening the camera app, tapping the gear icon to open camera settings, then hitting the Reset settings option found by scrolling all the way to the bottom.
The update also includes fixes to a variety of vulnerabilities; some found in the Android operating system while others are affecting Samsung’s own software experience. You can read all about them in the detailed June 2019 security patch report.
Readers who have not yet received the update on the Galaxy A50 in India should try navigating to the Settings » Software update menu and tap the Download and install option. Otherwise, users can also download the update manually from our firmware database and update the smartphone using Samsung Smart Switch on a computer.
Super slow-mo video? What's that, because we already have slow-mo now.

It doesn't matter if he copy pasted the link, atleast he shared it before you even stated about the link. You don't always have to bang on, peace out.
Btw, this update also brings super steady mode in video recording, which is a great feature to have.
( You'll need to reset the camera to get nightmode, Super slo mo & Super steady video as suggested )
There's also a new metering mode added in pro mode, Not sure if it was there previously!
Wifi calling toggle is also added in notifications bar.
Can't fine the Qr code scanner toggle in the notification bar.
Cheers

There is a reason why every online article attributes the source. All I requested him to do was to include the source link as it is copyrighted content and there are limitations to how much of the content you can copy-paste as-is without ownership.
Also, I posted about the firmware release 7-8 hours before this post in the Official Samsung firmware thread as I don’t want to create a new thread for every release. I wanted to share the new camera features with proof of what it does and hence didn’t create a thread about it.
For those interested in night mode, you can check a sample of it here.

O you'll be shocked that Gadgets ndtv, gsm arena etc all have the exact same post, btw software update info wouldn't be claimed under copyright anyhow.
Night mode seems to be good, though a bit grainy it seems. Super steady mode which is added also seems a great feature.
Got any clues about qr code scanner in the notification panel, as mentioned in the post, I'm not seeing one! ?
Added landscape night shot for a good measure

Haven't checked it yet, but with this release the QR scanner has been integrated in the camera app, so like iOS you just need to point the camera at a QR code for it to open a page. Earlier, it could only be done through Bixby Vision.

I knew the bixby thing, So it's confirmed that Qr code is integrated in the Camera app itself unlike what the leak suggested it to be in the notification panel.
So just wifi calling is added in the NP, good !

I always get a video of 8s 333ms with a bitrate of 11.5 Mb/s and a size of 11.5 MB. The minimum and maximum framerate is 30 as displayed in MediaInfo in my case. However, since Samsung advertises the Super Slow-mo as 960 fps for 0.4s on S10 and 0.2s on the S9, 480 fps for 0.4s on the A50 sounds more in line with what Samsung wants to achieve.
Update: Okay, it seems your values are from the edited portion of the super slow-mo video. I got a minimum rate of 14 and a maximum rate of 616 which constantly changes depending on the part of video edited and the lighting conditions. The average framerate for the super slow-mo section is 480 fps which is what is advertised by Samsung.

Guys, any news about June update on A505FN versions?
It's the end of July, and I still haven't received June update, I'm still on May update.
Also, I tried searching for firmware on many sites, but all of them has only May update.
So, any news? Anyone here that actually received this update? Thanks

Hello!
For everyone who wants to remove the fingerprint animation, that greatly decreases the time to unlock the device, you just have to:
1 - Install the app Settings Database Editor
2 - Open the app
3 - Touch on "+ Add new setting"
4 - Type fod_animation_type
5 - Save changes
6 - Set 4 as value
7 - Save changes
8 - Done
This app does not require root.
To enable the animation again just remove that setting or edit the value (to 1 or 2 or even 3)
Cheers!
Great tip, thanks man!
Work like chaarm thank you
Amazing ? thank you
Thats placebo, the fingerprint wont be fast cause the animation is gone...

Useful instruction, I think many will come in handy and like it. Only the speed does not seem to affect, either for the better or for the worse. But still, turning off the animation - a useful thing).

Hi, can I fix the proximity sensor using this app? Proximity sensor is not working for me.
Thanks for this tip. It is certainly faster as don't have to wait for animation to unlock. By the way, is there a way to stop fingerprint vibration too? That will save battery ...
Hey! Follow the steps but animation stay, whats make wrong?
Edit: ok, solved, my fail... write "time" not "type"

Why u bought mi a3 if u didn't want stock android ?
The speed gain from this is minimal, though without the animation you can tell that the delay is probably the software's fault and not the sensors . Just put your finger on the sensor and remove it immediately. You 'll see that it unlocks but with the same delay as if you had your finger on it. So from my point of view there's still hope for a faster unlock on a future update.
Wish there was a way to remove vibration. Sometimes i dont want to unlock, but it must vibrate.

Hi, there are many phones which give cool looking fingerprint animations. So when u touch for fingerprint scanning it looks amazing...
I didnt see any option in galaxy A50 to change it, or any option to add any new animations for fingerprint scanning. Is there any way to do it?
I think samsung must include this option by default, all latest phones have it.
Pics attached for understanding...

Thinking about whipping something up as im bored and have access to an a50. What features for a rom would be wanted?
I think one of the most important requests of the community would be to enable camera2api on this phone to be able to use GCam's night mode... but one can only dream
Bro Aosp Rom with Fp and Bt Calls working will be appreciated since fp optical and chipset is exynos thats the main bugs in GSI roms now availiable
bro join the a50 telegram group easy to commuciate there
Please enable camera2api so we can install gcam.
Aosp rom :fingers-crossed:

Is there a Samsung device who got that with the Android 10 update?
Maybe someone said it earlier , or maybe not . However I am saying . Also please correct me if i am wrong as i am less experienced .
1. We really like to use Secure folder . Considering adding that patch .
2. HDR on 25MP would be very nice.
3. I don't really know whether camera2api can be enabled with full level 3 support since manufacturer limited it . Please take a look .
4. Samsung DEX app maybe a very good choice.
5 .Edge lighting and edge screen is much preferred
6. ROM CONTROL would be nice ❤
7. Aroma installer with pre-rooted magisk
8. Custom changeable fingerprint animation [ I am too noob ]
9. Always on dolby atmos ( like yash bro's lightrom )
10. Smart capture ( though it's available to stock )
11. Auto call recorder support for all regions
12. Jetblack UI ( like lightrom = #000000 )
13. Fake Knox 0x0 status . Device status official
14. Vibration control ,multiple wallpaper feature
15. Some oneui2 features maybe...............
16.Silent Camera , Ability to play music in camera ,Ability to use camera in call, Build.prop tweaks , Speed tweaks,
Battery tweaks, Disabled Ads , Init.d Support, Ability To Disable Screen on when a Message is Received , GoodLock apps , patched Dual Messenger for all user apps , Dual speaker mod , Disabled high brightness warning , Patched liboemcrypto for Netflix ,
Don't get mad at me bro . I am not forcing you . Just giving suggestions .THANKS :like
Definitely some type of desktop UI would be great, but I'm not sure how we could use it. (USB 2.0 port) One thing sure we got a big nice screen
Cam2api is the main thing we want for night sight and portrait gcam

At least Android 10 with One UI 2.0 brought a better manual mode to the Galaxy S9 and S10, with a possibility to change the exposure time and aperture. Let's hope that this feature is also added to the A50 when Android 10 arrives.

I don't think we will get these, because why would we have limitations right now? But lets hope the best! Maybe there is a way for that api2 unlock.
I saw a magisk module for api2 unlock, has anyone tried it?

Do you know why ? Bcz it's already enabled but limited .
Idk if this is a thing for pixels, but is it possible to change the boot logo/animation for when the phone turns on?
I too would like to know the answer to this. My best guess is we will need root. My pixel is carrier locked and as far as I know I can't root till I get her unlocked. So I'm betting I won't be able to make even this small little change.
As a follow up....my first search results
Google brings Material You to your Pixel's boot screen
The latest feature drop brings the dynamic color themes to your boot-up animation
www.androidpolice.com
So theoretically yes we can use homemade themes. If we can get around the security. Which is where root comes in handy.

I saw one thread in the general Android hacking/modding forum where someone with a Pixel 6 was making a ROM for themselves and was having an issue with their custom boot animation. It wasn't compiling or whatever due to the animation zip they provided. But that's all I've seen on it.
Edit: My Pixel 6 Pro is a Google version and the bootloader is unlocked and I'm rooted.
