change your wallpaper (live wallpapers choos pixie,Cobalt ) apply it and lock it wait for aod to come and you will see animated figure (time by time is a different one!)
it works if you enable the aod on stock or a custom rom! (on android pie tested!)

why did u feel forced.
i was a huge custom rom fan for years, but with my pixel i was happy with the stock-rom.
Maybe you can convince me to change ?

Aod mod on stock rom stopped working, noise cancellation microphone stopped working and sound was terrible so i disabled that too
overall i love and i hate my pixel the same time ..
i upgraded to a galaxy s9 yeh a bummer but is the only phone so far that i can get dual speaker aod is fine and pixel 9.0 rom installed
my pixel xl was a disaster warranty doesn't cover anything because i live in Cyprus
microphone problems, wifi not connecting (motherboard issue ,i fixed it by DIY added a piece of paper where the wifi chip sits on board), battery wear, overheating issues etc )
and then my mom dropped it by an accident so she had to buy me a brand new phone and with the s9 ambient music like pixel 2 xl does work!!!

Same here also willing to test for pixel 1

Managed to get the latest beta to install, copy the downloaded file and replace Google camera.apk in system/priv-app folder, rename the beta to Googlecamera.apk, it will still crash when attempting to load, now install the downloaded beta over the top. Camera should run now, ?

Cons:
1) Quick Notification UI is fugly. No more quick settings for wifi and Bluetooth
2) No rootless substratum support
3) design language (gesture, recent app UI, everything is rounded)
4) wifi and charging issues on OG Pixel
5) not as smooth as Oreo
6) click on the left
7) status bar icons a mess. It's meant for phones with notch
Good things on Pie
1) superb battery
2) better security
3) GCam mod with night shift

Surprised. But maybe it's because I am coming from Nougat. I never used Oreo.
- No battery or wifi issues here.
- I seem to like the quick notification ui.
- it's very smooth. No lags or stutters whatsoever
- rounded corners, never noticed these but seem to be okay to me. I guess it's a personal preference.
- What I don't like is the default Phone app, it's not as versatile as in for example Miui.
I think Arnova's app has support for Oreo. You should try that one.

That's still buggy

On Playstore we can update Google Camera to version 6.1.021.220943556. In this build we have nightsight and the effect so better than older build.
But I think Csstark27 or another moder may help us to portrait. Thanks very much!!

How come every camera mod (I've tested) records 240fps slowmo in 1080p, not 720p as intended? Because of that 240fps is no use due to laggy video with frame drops. Noticed that first on CameraNX and now on those new mods.
Does anyone has the same issue?

Get all google pixel 3 camera features

Hi,
I installed the Bliss rom based on Android 9 because is the only recently updated Pie rom based on which I can install and run the official google camera version 6.1.021.
It works fine with video, camera, night sight but there aren't others pixel 3 camera features like the portrait mode / bokeh and photobooth.
Why?
I read on a blog that changing the device info in build.prop file to:
ro . product . model=Pixel 3
ro . product . name=blueline
ro . product . device=blueline
The camera app recognize the device as a Pixel 3 and it enables all missing features.
I tried to do this but the app crashes when I open it.
someone tried this method? I'm not interested to use other camera mod as workaround to get this features, i'm interested to get them on the original camera app.
Someone have any suggest?

How about "I don't want spend hundreds dollars to buy a new phone until mine works perfectly and I may have all features of the new one just with few little tricks"?

Well, you may not want to, that's fine, not making your decisions for you. But even if you do get the original pixel gcam on your n5x, the performance will be bad. So it's better if you either use the available gcam mods, or just buy a pixel 3.

hi, i'm on 8.1 and i use this camera
everything works perfect... except selfie portraits, it becomes green.
for selfie portrait, use camera NX

I have already install ota update for my A50 phone (A505FXXBTK5 )
my camera app have no pro video mode
i have only
slow motion
panorarma
night mode
hyperlapse
pro photo mode
and of course video and photo
how can add pro video mode or any other mode to the app

the one ui 3.0 hasn't been officially rolled out for your device variant .. but you can always use a custom ROM.. fresh ROM Samsung no frills.. offers some more camera features .. have a try ...

or use some custom camera up like pro shot or cortex camera

exactly the new variants of galaxy gets all the good updated features .. see a50 camera features which you see in a51 or a70 hasn't officially rolled out for a50 .. even thou a50 supports those features.. and thus I said go for a custom rom for all these features unlocked for your device

Question question regarding banking apps in Egypt and Rom stability

Hello,
i have ordered an F3 phone and it's currently been shipped to my location, i don't plan on using the default MUI stock rom as i don't like the idea of bloatware
so my question is what is the current most stable lightweight Rom for that phone that have no issues with banking app speically the once in Egypt like CIB-bank or AL-Ahly-bank

poco f3 user from egypt here .
any xiaomi.eu rom (stable or weekly) will work just fine
if u want to root use latest magisk canary (stable not working right now) + enable zygist then enable deny list
ahly bank (NBE) works... dont know about cib
instapay doesnt work for now unless u uninstall magisk

Your choice is between a debloated variant of MIUI (like Xiaomi.eu ROM) or AOSP (original Android UI Design).
I personally prefer AOSP because its clean and smooth, however I'm on Xiaomi.eu because MIUI Dolby Atmos and MIUI Camera App are only on MIUI.
In terms of Banking Support. You just have to make sure you are passing Google SafetyNet.
That's the most likely reason why a Banking app might not work for you, in the case your OS is failing SafetyNet-Check.

Secondly, aren't there any alternatives in the AOSP Rom for these 2 apps especially the Dolby one since I'm more interested in the quality of sound rather than the camera?

As a good camera alternative there are Google Camera Ports ("Gcam") which support many devices. There are many devs/porters of Gcam with varying feature-set and bugginess. They can be ok/good, but don't have all features that the MIUI Camera has, but it comes close. Can also crash sometimes. Some people like Gcam over MIUI Cam, but for me it's a definite opposite. MIUI Cam photos clearly show more details for me.

So they are nothing compared to MIUI Dolby Atmos.
You can find Equalizer apps on the Play Store as an alternative, but well, those are not Dolby Atmos. ^^
If sound's (and cam) is important to you, get Xiaomi.eu ROM. Also set Dolby Atmos to Video Mode. ^^

A great amount of information I have to say, well it's not like I'm totally minimalistic person but I hate bloatware, ads, and the feeling that my data is been used by the company that I bought my phone from, however, this answer helped me on getting a better picture on what are the pros and cons of using the original Rom debloated vs AOSP Rom still thinking which way to go tho since the phone will arrive in 4 days till then I will keep looking for more information.
