If you want to know what is fixed and what is not just check the updates for Mi A1 and Mi A2 standard. They already received the update and they said the following:
Pros:
Screen rotation bug was fixed
A new radio version is installed/Better Reception
Touchscreen sensitivity issues fixed
Performance boost
Faster camera focus
Cons:
Because faster camera, now the camera makes a louder ticking noise when resetted
Auto brightness bug is still there
That's about it. We should receive this update sometimes this week.

Does anybody know did Xiaomi will bring back DT2W?

Thanks Dear For The Comprehensive Prompt Response.

I want a DT2W toggle. This phone I butt dial A LOT with for some reason.
Got security update today in USA. 65.2MB size, seems small.

Got it also today, in Sweden. Nice that the rotation bug is fixed

I can't use dt2w after the update. I was looking forward to it being enabled again after the update as some sites said. Can anyone that received the update confirm or deny? Is there an option for dt2w that I can't find?

Update is now available on the phone. The OTA is about 65mb. A little bit small if you ask me, but installing right now and will edit the post after I test it a little.

Received In Pakistan
Downloading Now Its Only 65.2 MB.
After Update Will Let You Know That What's New...

I Can Confirm That Screen Rotation Bug Has Been Fixed Now After August Update

Ok while writing this I'm testing various functions of the phone and here's what I get:
-The rotation bug is now fixed, animations work fine and smooth.
-Screen sensitivity is now extremely high, even keeping my hand near the bottom of the screen triggers back button (I have a thick glass protector on, and I didn't experience faulty sensitivity in July update)
-At a glance option in stock launcher is still there and cannot be used. No toggles, no nothing.
-Launcher animations and responsiveness is great now, switching between recent apps and drawer is quick and fluid (just give it 5 mins after the update) and animations are now smooth and not stuttering at all.
-Switching between applications and opening new apps on top of already opened apps seems faster and animations are more fluid.
-Let's say signal reception is a little bit better, until now I was getting only 2-3 bars of LTE in my home, after the update there seems to be 4-5 bars of LTE
-The camera noise that the Mi A2 users were complaining last week is not present on Mi A2 Lite. Switched between all modes and from front to back and there is a little tick made by the AF mechanism when it resets the focus, but you have to keep the phone about 2-3cm from your ear in a quiet environment.
-Front camera works ok, doesn't overexpose like some users were complaining.
-Sensors seems to be working just fine. Rotation works smooth, almost instant. Light sensor works ok. Gyro seems to work just fine, tested in VR games.
-Sound quality seems good enough and it seems more full, and loud on speaker, no more clippings (before the speaker was clipping sometimes - same setup as before, I'm using Noozxoide as DAC and Sony Music as player).
-Seems like the phone is not overheat so much when under heavy use (36C after heavy use now, 42C on july update)
-Experienced minimal GUI stutters (just a few frame drops while switching apps in animations, not really bothering while day to day use, but worth mentioning) with a lot of apps running in the background, unlink hangs like the past 2 updates.
-Fingerprint sensor takes aprox half a second to a full screen wake, and about 250ms to lit up the backlight.
-Wi-fi conectivity seems ok, speed is ok, downloaded 2 office suite updates flawlessly and fast.
-Bluetooth seems ok, connected to my BMW ConnectedDrive system via BT and the car is outside my house, about 20m from the phone location.
-IR works fine, no problems there.
-Headphones works as expected, loud, extremely vivid sound and punchy bass (check sound setup above) and both L and R channels have the same sound amplitude. Tested with 3.5mm Apple EarPods.
-From the time of update (100%) the phone is now 93% which is great (50 minutes of high usage and continuous testing)! And by the time I am writing this the phone never went over 36C in a 26C environment.
-Still no DT2W (yet my phone never had dt2w)
-Everything else seems untouched no new settings and couldn't find the test version of 2fa that Mi A2 users were talking about
So that's that. I am very happy with this update, everything seems to be so smooth and fast. I love this phone again!!!

I can confirm that the August update don't bring back DT2W!
There is no option for dt2w in the settings app either, so most likely Xioami is getting rid of this future.

Anyone knows if the missing Bluetooth codecs were added in this update? I'm not holding my breath, since the size seems too little to include them.

I don't know what bluetooth codecs but the only time I use bt streaming is in my car. And my car supports aptX, AAC and SBC and works just fine, and the quality is absolutely great. I can't see any difference between MP3's from the car's hard disk or bluetooth audio.
I have only one problem with bluetooth. I can't get to connect my iQOS device to this phone. I download the required app and then in the setup page it gives me a toast message about a PIN code being invalid. I got this error since I got the phone. On my old Sony I could connect it without a problem. I can't find a solution... Every other BT device work just flawlessly, except the god damn iQOS.

It's probably defaulting to SBC, the lowest quality BT codec available.

Does anyone have the august boot.img to patch with magisk?

Any link to the complete rom? the last one I download was daisy_global_images_V10.0.10.0.PDLMIXM_20190613.0000.00_9.0_f1adc81d8e.tgz that I found in official download miui page (now I only see V10.0.9.0.PDLMIXM) http://en.miui.com/download-354.html
Here... I found the link (in a russian website) hope its the good one: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.0.12.0...0.PDLMIXM_20190717.0000.00_9.0_59368ef014.tgz

i want back dt2w

So sad they did not fix DT2W, seems like my phone has to stuck at June security patch.

[Solved] Galaxy A3 2017 - fingerprint scanner almost unusable

Hello,
Anyone else has this problem where the fingerprint scanner barely works (almost unusable) ? I tried many ways to enter the fingerprints but it registers like 1 in 10 tries...

If that does not solve the issue, also try this:

same here. Samsung makes the worst finger print scanners.
thinking of 4 scan for same finger see if that helps.
Huawei makes the best finger print scanners

That is not normal, my A5 works 9 in 10 on the first try.
Not a single error in my A3
Mine is totally unusable... any idea?
Well, it seems that I'm not the only one with this problem. Hopefully it can be fixed with an update.
I have to say that my thumb skin is a bit damaged (from doing work on cars, around the house, etc.) but this was never a problem with my S7 Edge. I tried a different finger with healthy skin and it does work a lot better, but still not 100%, it seems to me that the A3 sensor has real issues.
same Problem with my girlfriends A3.
Fingerprint scannner works in 1 of 4 times if youre lucky sometimes doesn't work at all.
She has already made 3 scans with 1 finger but didn't really help
Maybe send it back for warrenty repairs if a factory reset won't work'? I'm sorry but fingerprint sensor should work fine.

To be honest, I don't think this is solvable via warranty work. I am not sending my almost new phone back just to receive a refurbished piece of thrash. I am putting my faith into a firmware update. The funny thing is, I really like the phone even with this problem, it is very fluid and has even better battery life than the S7 Edge.
So here is a workaround I have found, for those having the issue:
- Instead of using the tip of the finger when adding your fingerprint, use the area just below the tip. In the attached picture, use the area marked with green instead of the one marked with red. It will then work 100%, it's amazing how fast and accurate it is. It's just not very smart like the S7/S8 and other phones and it probably has issues when the skin is not 100% perfect or maybe with pronounced geometric distortions like it is the case when using the finger tip.
Hi folks, a workaround for me was disabling the keep screen turned off, became much more accurate after that
I've got similar problem with always on display. When I turned it off everithyng is fine
I am having similar issues with my phone. I have tried using all three stored fingerprints as just my thumb and I still have trouble getting it to unlock. I do have Always On Display turned on, and I don't really want to disable it as suggested in this thread because it's an awesome feature. Samsung should be able to something as easy as a fingerprint scanner right. Hopefully this is simply a software issue that is patched
hi guys
you lock phone with power key or with widget (like screen off)?
After having the same problem I started turning my thumb much more (even almost fully vertical) during the scanning process. Now it works fine. DHNL
hi actually solved the problem what i did is that factory reset the phone, i schedule a weekly restart, i clean my scanner and i assigned all 3 fingerprints on to the same finger and it worked
Hi folks,
I am experiencing the same issue. I found some relief using a different finger. I have registered three of my fingersprints. For some weird reason only one of the three fingers works acceptably good, the other two are successful very rarely. I therefore recommend you to try with a different finger or several of them to find out which one better works for you.
Good luck !
I can confirm there is indeed a problem with SAMSUNG A5 2017 fingerprint system. The recognition rate can be extremely low in some condition (around 10% positive, meaning almost unusable). This seems to be a software bug
Here is a turn around :
If you record your fingerprint with the screen "always on" function activated , then the recognition rate is extremely poor.
if you unactivate this function during recording process, then the rate is ok (higher than 90%), even if you reactivate the always on function after recoring session
I guess this could be solved by Samsung in the latest firmware A5 (2017) update.

Thanks for that it's a newer kernel build I assumed the last 3 digits on the build number would be the same as the one on the Three software but ours is 853. No update here anyway.
Picture for anyone wondering
Cany anyone share their review of it after they update? I'm still on my original battery life test... :| (don't want to charge the phone yet so I don't want to update because I don't want to have less than a full charge for any update lol)
It seems they adjusted the speaker volume, it's not quite as loud as it was before update. Any one having problems with video playback? Everything I try to play shutters. I've tried Netflix and a bunch of video players, but they all do it. I was hoping this update would fix this but no dice.
I would hold off on patching. - Post edited because of double reboot
I plugged the phone in at 5pm with 49 percent battery, at 6pm showing 94 percent, phone never got warm while charging. Is it me or does that seem slow? Seemed to charge faster and get warmer before update.

You can get the battery percent by activating the "experimental" UI tuner. Pull down the notification shader and long-press the gear icon next to the date on the top. This activates the System UI tuner in your settings, right over "About Phone".

Ok so they replaced all the ring tones with really quit ones. Half the volume they use to be. I'm thinking people were blowing out there speakers and now they took away one of the really cool features of the phone. My Note 4 rings louder now.

Pre update here, verified hulu works fine. Netflix just says error 1.1 for everything except the stuff i've already downloaded, which seems to be playing fine as well. Haven't actually attempted to play stuff before now.

I noticed that problem with videos too. Only way I found to resolve that was to add the video player app such as Netflix etc into Razers Game Booster and set any profile. That is what I had to do with my MX Player app.
Odd how Game Booster would fix the issue, but maybe its assigning the app more cpu utilization? Either way, try that and let me know how you get on.
I installed MX Player and added it to game booster and seems 90 percent better, thanks. Still having issues with Netflix, will play with some more settings.
Hello,
Since the update, the volume is really low.. Its almost like the bottom speaker doesn't work anymore.. I tired it in youtube and also google music.. even when i go into Dolby atoms and try the demo the bottom speaker doesn't work.. anyone else having this issue ? the other thing is that i cant seem to set different notifications for different email accounts under gmail app .
An fyi with the netflix error I was getting, I had to uninstall and reinstall it. Works fine now.
For the volume, I've had access to 3 phones. 1 phone had the bad/blow bottom speaker, not sure if it was oob defective or atmos had a bug and blew it when I was messing around with Atmos's eq.
Phone to replace that one works perfect like the other. Pre-update, sound loud as hell. Did the update on the blown speaker one, it removed 95% of the crackle, but at loud volumes the crackle persisted.
Comparison of pre and post update sound volume I made a post for, it's pretty bad. Not sure if they did this to prevent more rma's while they fix it, or if they'll try to quietly sweep it under the carpet, so please everyone be sure to do a live chat with customer service and report the crappy low volume from the update.
Still majorly impressed with the phone and very impressed with a 5 days after release patch 1.0. Though it seems a few individuals are having some bugs yet. Overall I'm not getting rid of this anytime soon.
Btw, square trade is what I went with. 300$ for 2 phones for 3 years, drop/spill protection is included. (so 150 a phone for 3 year "warranty"; also notes it cover 'sound issues')

Redmi note 8 pro - android 10 bugs

Not at all stable to use as daily driver.

2 - Bluetooth earphones gets disconnected randomly, usually when you lock unlock the device.
3 - Wifi speed degrade when you use Bluetooth and wifi at the same time.
4 - whatsapp video call are still lagging, connecting issue, other phones on the same network works fine.

I think you need to do a factory reset.
Battery is exactly the same for me as Android 9.
Camera quality is the same too.
Fast charging works for me with default charger.
Don't know about the rest.

Already did reset 3 times, thought my old google backup setting is the issue, even after setting up without restoring the backup this issues are there, specially the notification, Bluetooth and wifi issue.
I didn't noticed that many problems like you, only the battery performance lost, I went from 10 hours of screen on time, to around 6-7, factory reset from recovery didn't help, but that was enough reason for me to dare to unlock the bootloader, so I went back to MIUI 11.0.3 based on android 9, now I have my 10 hours of screen on time and I'm more than happy, the only feature I miss from android 10, was the wifi dynamic MAC address
So have you downgraded back to android 9
Can you please help me how to do so
Can't we download android 9 package from mi website and install as package in update settings?

i am talking about Indian variant, various users have already raised this issues, also mi developers had confirm this notification issue and forwarded it to there developers.
2 - this was not there before day i switched to andorid 10 even after reseting 2 times i am facing this issue
3 - This wasnt the thing on android 9 that is the problem
4 - tried telegram duo, even the calls are not coming. forget about mesgs.
6 - this is also confirmed by many users
I'm in last version and Android 10 but don't have any of this problems in my phone! Performance is better than Android 9 and everything is fine! You must do a factory reset to fix this problems.
I am also on android 10 on the indian variant and I can confirm that the 1st issue which is about no notifications after some time is happening to me also. Although I don't know about the rest. About charging and battery backup, I think it is same as before.

I'm only facing the notification issue mentioned in the tread. Everything same, miui 11.0.2 android 10. All settings tested. Also tried pnf app. No use. Another symptom is when I open WhatsApp all the messages are delivered only then. Have allowed it to run in background, disabled power saving, all notification allowed, auto start permission given.
anyone noticing bluetooth mac is changed to 00:00:46:00:00:01?
maybe this causing the bluetooth disconnection issue?
I just noticed it on both of my RN8pro running Indonesian fw Android 10.
Mine upgraded yesterday throught OTA to MIUI 11.0.4(QGGIXM)/Andorid 10.
I came from the Andoird 9 and everything was good, but after the upgrade my GPS in Dual Space and Second Space can´t lock my postion.
Tried to hard reset 3 times and reflashed this ROM manualy and nohing. I still have the bootloader locked and can´t downgrade now.
I made some tests using app GPS test, in te upper screen is the "normal" app and in the bottom s the dual app that can´t lock the GPS, same thing happens in the second space.
After search a lot, people say that is better to downgrade, so anyone have this issue here or a solution for it?

No, not yet. It is a pain and I will do it if it is really necessary, I'm not sure if that would work. Anyway I saw the link that someone posted earlier that this kind of interference is a common problem; I never new about it or noticed it. On my PC there is some slowing down also, but not as dramatic as on the RN8P.

So basically it is common problem for all phones or even all device's?
Is it worse on A10 that on A9?

It is very common (if you use 2.4GHz WiFi); you'd need beamforming to get over it. But not all devices are the same - it depends on device quality and antenna separation (for example, laptops with Intel/Killer wifi modules are much less affected by it, while Raspberry Pis are having serious trouble doing both at the same time).
Of course, this only applies in 2.4GHz. Switch to 5GHz, and you'll have no more problems.
When to do factory reset? After updating or before updating?

[DISCUSSION] ANDROID 11 UPDATE

I have decided update my device to ANDROID 11 (EU version). My first impression is that all work fine, and the UI is faster and smoother than android 10. If i will find some bugs i will report here. But my first impression is positive
Agree with you.
My impressions after using:
UI is smoother
Fingerprint works slightly faster
Gests are now system supported for custom launchers (using Nova Prime)
WiFi income is just better (both 2.4GHz & 5GHz)
Missing icon shape
Uses more battery
When I done update via OTA to Android 11, I lost all of pictures from phone and sd card (backuped recently) - maybe it´s a feature
No data lost with previous update to Android 10
I'm on EU. My experience:
The Good:
Smooth Experience
Fingerprint scanner slightly faster
We can finally dismiss Settings suggestions
Upstreamed kernel (4.14.180)
The new DND and Bubble features give you some interesting options
The Bad:
Status bar is moved down and fits less icons (fixed in January 2021 update)
Random Reboots (had 2 over 2 weeks time) (no random reboots since January 2021 update)
WiFi is not auto-connecting when I return home. (still present - March 2021. Not everyone is facing this issue)
Sometimes when I answer a call the UI freezes on the incoming call screen, even though I can hear the other person on the line. (no freezes since January 2021 update)
Still no call recording
No screenshot button on the power menu (still present - March 2021)
I'm not a fan of the notification categories
No built-in screen recorder (added in January 2021 update)
The animation of closing an app is extremely fast. As a result I'm not always sure if my app actually closed or not (got used to it )
Sometimes the status bar disappears after exiting a full screen app (still present - March 2021)
I didnt got the update yet, you need to update to december to get the new update ? Eu version.

Yes. After 24 hours from update, also battery performance is better! Starting from 96%, these are my performances
Yeah. I updated to december and i received instant a111 update. Thanks.
I currenty use GLOBAL ROM for my A3, Indian device.
Can I flash EU version on the same, any advantages like EU roms are a bit more privacy-concious, etc.
After update to A11, my device stopped responding to touch, got it serviced from MI and everything seems good now.
Dear Mi A3 users:
Did you notice worse battery life?
I also notice, than income signal of WiFi 2.4GHz & 5GHz is better

For me is better. But probably it depends from the use of device
For me its very slow, i need to factory reset to test. One thing its sure, december update was snappier.
I get borred until settings opens after i click on shortcut. And i think they removed pinned apps, to remain always open.
I don't know why... After update my device was very fast! The battery perfomance bin even better than pie... I don't know what pinned app are. Probably some function are missing... But they will can add on future updates. I'm afraid For users that can't have a positive experience with this update. Maybe i'm lucky... But i don't think so.... This is my last report of battery performance. I have updated 2 days ago, without recharge. 8:30 of screen on time is the best i have reached with 80% of usage in 48 hours. For me the battery duration is very important. So i'm Happy

No random reboot for me
bonsoir, je ne sais pas quelle mise à jour j'ai. car il revient aussitôt après le crash de la première mise à jour le 31 décembre je trouve le téléphone super réactif pas de soucis tout fonctionne nickel
Changing front camera with bqck camera takes forever
Copying large folders takes forever.
Delay in writing text messages with keyboard.
Battery draining.
Wow. Full of bugs android 11. Fail update.

Did you do a factory reset before or after updating by any chance? Performance seems to be worse for me, on EU as well.

Factory reset is reco before and After a major update. I made a reset before. And my experience is positive. The bugs reported by some user don't affect my phone. See for example my screenshots with battery performance... Is very good

I haven't had these problems so far, I haven't reset my smartphone after upgrading to android 11, the only problems I've noticed so far are;
*The battery is running out much faster, I hope that by resetting the phone this problem will end.
*Some apps just freeze.
I managed to activate screen recording without root and it works perfectly. I also miss the screenshot option on the power button.

Question Experience with LineageOS 19 (12.1)

Hello people,
I was wondering if there is someone out there daily driving the latest LineageOS build on their OP9Pro, who could tell me if it runs smoothly and whether there are any major bugs or inconveniences. I am thinking about flashing LineageOS on my device, but I am still uncertain if it is worth the hassle, as I rely on the phone working properly and with all/most of the features.
However I wasn't able to find much information about known issues or user reports.
I used to flash CyanogenMod on my own devices when it used to be relevant so I have a little bit of experience regarding flashing.
What I would like to know:
- Hardware working? (5G, Bluetooth, Wifi, NFC, Cameras, fingerprint, alert slider etc)
- Do all apps still work? (Banking, Netflix, GPay etc.)
- Does VoLTE/VoWifi work? (spec. German carrier T-Mobile)
- How is the update process? (OTA via system updater?)
- Major problems or known issues as stated above
I am really unsatisfied with the current state of OxygenOS (stock rom) as there are many bugs that probably won't be fixed, which is why I am looking into custom Roms again.
Also I own the EU version of the phone if relevant.
Thank you for your answers
Hi,
In case you're still wondering:
I just bought a used OnePlus 9 Pro with LIneageOS 19.1 installed.
- All of the hardware works (except I have not tested NFC - I don't use it.)
- I did not install microG or anything to use Goolge apps, I only use apps from F-Droid, so sorry I can't help you there. I don't know if any of your required apps will work.
- Phone calls work on WiFi Calling and the 4G/5G networks on USA T-Mobile service.
- OTA updates work fine.
- The only issue I have is that the Android 12 Desktop Mode doesn't work (the launcher button and two navigation buttons show up on the monitor, but they don't do anything. On my OnePlus 7 Pro with LineageOS 18.1, Android 11 Desktop Mode works pretty well.
Yes, thanks for the reply. I think i will wait for the upcoming Oxygen13, but I don't actually have high hopes for it being good. If I'll be disappointed with the update I'm likely going to flash LineageOS, as I am annoyed by the integration of Oppo's ColorOs into Oxygen, while there are still so many bugs and inconsistent UI.

My pleasure. Good luck!
Daily driving it for several months now and so far so good. The only issue I sometimes have, is that I press the power button and the screen turns black (still giving haptic feedback, but shows nothing on the screen.) I need to force reboot to fix this.
But it performs waaaaaaay better then ColorOS / "Oxygen OS" and read that the beta is again full of bloat.
I did install Gapps with this and works like a charm (thought I've picked Pico)
Hope this will help you with your choice

Yes, thank you aswell. I'm certainly going to install Gapps. Can you confirm that NFC/GPay is working? I rely on that as my main payment method.

Sorry man, don't use Gpay and did not use NFC thus far.
So far, LOS 19.1 has been running like a dream on my 9 Pro. The only complaint I have is that calls using Bluetooth audio have a "stutter" effect, like the sound has little micro-dropouts; it's annoying enough that I try to avoid Bluetooth calls, but not so much that I can't put up with it if I have to. (Bluetooth music isn't affected, it's as smooth as lake ice.) I'm hoping we'll see a fix eventually.

That's fine as long as it doesn't affect wireless AndroidAuto. If anybody has experience with using it and maybe even with an AAWireless device I'd like to know as well. I have a 1st gen unit I use everyday while driving.
I'm running the version bundled with microg and am quite happy. It's a lot better than the last release of 18.1 that I was on in terms of battery life. I don't game, so I have no idea about it in that regard.
I've been running LOS 19.1 for about two weeks now, but must say I'm not all too happy with it:
- bluetooth calling (using wired android auto) audio quality is very poor, both ways (so for me and the person I'm calling with)
- fingerprint unlock works, but the 'scan area' seems to be more finicky. it often quickly switches to number based unlock. never had that with oos
- the battery life is considerably poorer for me
- the device gets much hotter while charging
- I've once had the top right part of my screen becoming unresponsive. only a reboot fixed that.

That's sad to hear but maybe it will be fixed in future updates.
Still might give it a try in the near future. Does the version of the device matter? (EU, US or international)

Can confirm, though I did install a fork of magisk to get it to work
So, to summarize answers:
- "everything is fine, but I don't use nfc, gapps, banking apps. Bet everything else is fine"
- battery is worse than on Oxygen
- fingerprint sensor works, but it works worse
- "charging works, but, phone is hot. I don't use fast charging and fast wireless charging but yeah charging works, I am able to charge my phone"
- Google Pay works, but actually it does not work, you need "patched Magisk"
Can I ask additional questions?
- can I use all cameras and switch camera during movie recording?
- can I take heic photos?
- can I record 8k movie?
