Situation:
1. I pre-ordered a Black Note 10+ 512GB 5G on 8/8 at about 2am EST online with Verizon on my current phone, through a long chat conversation in the My Verizon app.
2. Yesterday (8/16) at about 7pm EST, I stopped by a Verizon store to just briefly get my hands on the same model to see it in person.
3. I live about 5 miles from this Verizon store. At about 10pm EST the same night when at home, I noticed an item in the drop-down notification shade referring to 1,000 rewards points. I selected it and the offer appeared in the Samsung Pay app. When I clicked on the button to accept the offer, it told me to get closer to the store and try again. I closed the app with the idea of retrying when I got closer to the store another day
Has anyone else seen the same thing or know about this offer and what are the parameters/restrictions?
Got a message yestersay like this.
Wanted me to go into tmobile and click the claim button.
Dont remember the full details as i wasnt close fo the store
Called Verizon and they did some research and found out. You have to visit a store - but the award is only given once the new phone is in your possession past the return period. Sweet!

I'm on Verizon and got the same offer for the thousand points via Samsung pay. I drove to a Verizon third party store, didn't go in; got close enough and got the reward! No solicitation, phone purchase, nor walk-in required! Good luck and do hope you enjoy the new note

that's NOT how it works.
open Samsung Pay, scroll down to Nearby deals, then scroll to the left until you see Earn 1,000 points at Verizon, ATT or Sprint depending on your current carrier. I heard they give 2000 points for Tmobile customer. click on the icon, it should tell you more info. basically you have to drive to that wireless store, you dont have to go in, just outside is fine. then click on the claim button to get your points reward. i already gotten my 1000 points for driving to Verzion store at night and parked car outside the store and claimed my points.
I work right next to an AT&T store and did this yesterday. I got 2000 points for AT&T. Just open Samsung Pay and click "Nearby" to get the points.

So I just finished winning from eBay my Note 4 for $550 shipped. I was just sniping deals and putting in low bid offers and picked one up.
FYI search for Note IV because people rarely use it to list things it doesn't pop up on eBay's radar to promote it. Anyways I'm ecstatic, I'm coming from a note 2 which I love so I hope this fills my note 2's shoes. I can't wait for custom software.

Hate to rain on your parade, buuuut it doesn't look like the AT&T Note 4 will have root for a while.

That is about all it's worth without the ability to root and Rom....I would not even pay that much.
It's a little different in this community but $550 for a note 4 is still a great deal if you can deal without root for a while. I'm talking to a guy about buying his t-mobile note for 550 but only because he owes payments on it & can't use it on T-Mo anymore. I'm just gonna unlock it for at&t so it's a win win
Hell ya. Maybe I should post my Note 4 locked down bastard on ebay since it's sitting in the drawer.

Lol I still haven't switched over from my Tmo Note 3 on at&t because of a few root apps i depend on.. Unfortunately I can't sell my at&t note 4 b/c Samsung gives them to me to demo & if they happen to ask for it back (which they never have yet) & I don't have it, I'm out of the program..

Is it true Verizon not selling note 7 after recall is complete?
I think so that's what the rep said when I went into the store but tried to recant when the mananger came out and tried to pursaude me to get the s7edge until it comes back in which I don't think it will ...cause he clearly said we're not selling it anymore at all
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They're not selling it til the phone is fixed. They haven't stopped forever.
I just talked to a Verizon rep, for what it's worth, who did not think Verizon would continue to handle the Note 7 after replacing the recalled ones. I could picture it going either way, and wonder if Samsung might release a very fast next model to get out from under the stigma. I'm just waiting for my local store to get the new ones in to exchange mine, but not sure how I'll feel if we see a Note 8 in a few months.
I know when i talked to Verizon about the pay off on the edge program. He told me that on Samsung's flagship phones you can upgrade every year when the phone ia released and Samsung picks up the balance of the previous generation phone your turning in. So if they jump to note 8 earlier then next year this time, that's fine with me ill just get it

I have never heard of this... Didn't happen when I went from Note 5 to Note 7. Is this a real thing now? Much like Apple's program? This would be big news.

On Verizon anyways yes, there is a handful of devices that qualify for a 12 month upgrade swap like the old edge program was. Pretty much only top tier Samsung phones and iPhones qualify. There's like only 5 handsets that get the exemption. It's been this way since spring. They also give you an extra 2gb data per month per device....

I checked, and they said the Note 7 is in stock and shipping today.
Available now the new Galaxy Note7. The Galaxy Note7 was previously recalled on September 9th by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to an issue with the device's battery. This new Galaxy Note7 has been approved by the (CPSC) for all purchases and exchanges.
I've noticed there are quite a few rumors reporting that verizon will carry the phone in-store. Have there been any similar leaks/rumors regarding ATT carrying the phone?

No. But Google will let you finance their hugely expensive phone like a car.
http://pocketnow.com/2016/09/19/google-pixel-pricing-verizon-rumors
For the first time on a first-party smartphone release, the Google Store will offer financing for these not-affordables in select markets. A year-long warranty extension will be available as well as accidental insurance is available at the price of $99 for the Pixel and $119 for the Pixel XL — the Nexus Protect program offers similar protections.
If you want to get your phone from a physical store, rumors are holding up Verizon to be the exclusive retail partner for Pixel carriage. There will supposedly be three colors, but none of them are technically white — the closest we get is an aluminium shade, followed by a shiny, bright blue and black.

im guessing verizon only or unlocked all carriers entire world only
I'm increasingly wondering if the entire point of Next is to provide a financing program for Samsung and Apple. That's about all that AT&T carries on the program these days, though I think you can still get some older model HTC devices and a few LG devices. They all start on page 3...
EDIT: It's confirmed. Pixels will be a Verizon exclusive, so no-go on Next - at least initially. On the plus side, my bill will be lower for a while.
Hey all, I have a Verizon Note 8 and trying to see different options of getting a Note 10+. Some have said they get an unlocked phone and then put the sim card in from the Note 8 which saves paying for activation. I know Best Buy is probably the cheapest (well, Verizon's $450 is the cheapest signing up for one of their unlimited plans) but I'm still grandfathered in from unlimited years ago and have 450 minutes which I'm fine with. I just don't want to get off grandfathered unlimited to paying higher for their fake unlimited (slowing after 22GB in congested areas). So, is it true in order to save paying activation is just to use the old sim card? Here's the thing though.....unlocked is still $1,099 through Best Buy or if you activate it today, it drops it down to $1,049 but once you go in and add to preorder, you still see $40 upgrade fee regardless. The other thing I was thinking of was doing a 24 month on Best Buy's 0% interest card and trading in the Note 8 for $300 off. I'm just confused which way to go. Does anyone know or have options that might be the best way to go?

I am in the same boat with a Note 8. Already paying for multiple phones etc. On shared 18GB XX Plan.
In the my Verizon app I did the whole thing via chat. Turns out a mint Note 8 can be used for trade-in but only for a $157 discount. Got an extra line for $450 off instead, while switching my plan (old plan was only 5$ less).... Verizon rep told me about a loophole: when new phone is activated, switch the phone numbers of the two phones. Then, cancel the service for the old phone! I hope she wasn't lying. They keep saying it will only be here by the 23rd, no sooner. Ugh!

Ahh, I see what you're saying.....setup a new line for $450 off, then switch your main number to that line and the $450 off number to your main account and make the $450 off your main account and close the other one to save money. I would definitely do that and I see that being a loophole, the only thing is, that wouldn't work for me for keeping the unlimited grandfathered plan. But I could see it definitely working for you.

If this is the promotional finance credit? Don't do this. I tried that with the pixel 3 XL. Lost my $300 off credit and now I'm stuck paying full price. I even verified with Verizon that I could do this. Was told yes. It didn't work. When I called and inquired about it, I was told that I needed to keep the phone on that line for the promotional credit. Huge lesson learned for me.

Well, I can try to get it in writing from someone at the store I can do that and also get in writing that if it turns out that is not acceptable that I will later give them the note 8 (even if it is by then outside the promotional period) and demand the $157 credit.... Ugh!

I spoke with Verizon at length about this. They swear up and down that I will get the $450 credit as soon as they receive the old phone back, regardless of the value of the note 8 being returned. I am thinking I will return the old phone at the store and ask for a receipt for $450 anyway.

After much examination I also discovered I was somewhat bamboozled, they switched me to an unlimited plan as well (which is however only $5 more/mo. than what I am already paying so I did agree to it). I noticed a link from Verizon which stated you actually can do the trade in without getting a new line for the $450 discount, but only if you go to an unlimited plan...). With the promotion for the $450 discount three years ago to go from the Note 5 to the Note 8 there were no other caveats such as an unlimited plan... AND FYI the current unlimited plan is only full speed (not throttled) until you go over 25GB on any single phone on the plan... and I am told the speed on only that phone is then throttled way back... Also the agreement you sign states that at times of heavy network traffic the speed may decline (which I guess is to be expected)...

I totally missed the detail for the trade in promo (trade in a select device get 450 off) where you need to have an unlimited plan. I already pre-ordered the phone. I'm assuming the unlimited plan is quite a bit more than my 5gb/month plan. Well, this sucks....
I wonder if I can switch my plan to unlimited for a month or two until the trade in credit goes into effect then switch back to my 5gb plan and keep the discount.
After reading this (below), it sounds like if you change anything on your plan that doesn't meet the requirements of the promotion, you lose the promotion discount. Looks like I have to go with an unlimited plan...

Any one else having difficulty trying to pre order or just dealing with Samsung support (or lack of support). Insane. I've spent at least 6 hours total on hold just trying to preorder the Note 10. Every time I place an order, its canceled shortly after.
1st time I called Samsung, I was hung up after 40mins of waiting. The 2nd time I was told "just try it a third time and it happens again, call back". The 3rd time I was told "we will open a tier 2 case and follow back up".
Never got a follow-up as told. Called back AGAIN and was told it could be an issue with Samsung finance. Spent over 90mins on hold for Samsung finance to only confirm all my info is correct. Now i've placed maybe my 12th order? Still canceled.
Call Samsung back AGAIN. Basically told that they don't know how to fix it and I can't use Samsung finance to purchase. After I was already and approved and they ran my credit. SAMSUNG has the worst customer support. Any one else have similar issues?

I'm having similar issue but I'm trying to CANCEL and they keep beating round the bush and won't let me cancel so annoying
I had issues with using a work partner. The company who employs me has a business relationship with samsung (BAE store on the Samsung site) and with that deal I get 50 dollars off and no tax in action to all the other credits offered with the preorder.
Every time i would enter my address or even CC info, it would say “sorry we ran into a problem, please try again later”. I had second level support in on this and submitted photos of the issue, to no avail.
Fortunately, ive another email address that gave me all the credits but I had to pay 55 dollars in tax (California ) so I was able to snag 3 note 10 +’s 512 unlocked for 607 a piece (note 9 trade ins) using this alternative login and one of the 3 will be delivered this wed...
So yeah i had issues last week on the site, so I just took the L and ponied up the tax to get these jokers by Friday......
Pre-ordered the day it was announced thru the Samsung app..got 600 for my S10+ and an additional 200 credit I used on Samsung wireless buds and a fitbit thinggy. Got an email today the phone was shipped. Couldnt have been any easier.

Same happened to me. Finally used a different credit card, online, and it went right through!
I had to cancel my 3rd order because it was being delayed. I called up and the rep spoke with her floor manager. They stated my 3rd order would be in limbo until the first two were processed—meaning when they got my trade ins and verified them . After that samsung would then process the 3rd. Reason is you can only have 2 ordered per household. This is what I was told and rather than argue I just didnt want to waste more time.
Not waiting around for that nonsense, I cancelled that order and resubmitted another one using a debit card that I temporarily applied to my work address. This cleared that hurdle and I re-ordered this AM. Sadly there are no more 512 unlocked versions (my first 2 are 512 unlocked) left to pre order but they had a 256 unlocked version. Still got the 600 dollar credit and gift voucher but they also threw in 4 months of YouTube premium (whatever its called). This is a new addition over the previous orders I placed (they didnt have the YouTube premium). So ill just get a 512 gb card and be done with it. Perhaps ill trade it for the tmo 5G version..
I had similar issue i just ordered mine yesterday but i had to go through the samsung website cause through the samsung shop app it would not let me place my order almost like trying not to give me my 50 dollars off the reservation price. Would set it all up and when i would press place order little spin circle would appear for a second and then nothing it wouldnt order. Went to samy .com and ordered without issue. only issue i see it say delivery expected day sept 11 on the phone with samy as i write to see wth.
Ordered mine on the 10th. Been waiting patiently for shipping notification. Just got notification that my order was cancelled.
I've been on the phone holding for a rep for literally 2 hours and 5 minutes now. I have plenty more money than the cost of the phone on my card and I have absolutely no idea why it would have been canceled. This sucks.
