I searched the forums and couldn't find a good answer to this.
My current carrier allows for Wi-Fi Calling (T-Mobile MVNO), and the function worked fine with my phone's stock OS. However since flashing Lineage OS 16 I've noticed there's no Wi-Fi Calling option or toggle available anywhere in the settings.
Is there a known method for enabling this function in Lineage OS? A workaround solution or 3rd party app perhaps?
Thank you kindly

Since switching to a 5.0 stock based ROM (Cloudy or rooted stock), I've been having an issue with LAN only wifi networks. Basically, it will get immediately disabled by the OS if the attached wifi network does not have an internet connection. I remember there being a setting in 4.4 where you could disable this feature, but I don't see it as an option on 5.0. From my searching, it appears that this was resolved again in 5.1. Is there any way to disable that feature otherwise? I like 5.0 otherwise, and don't want to deal with the camera quality of AOSP. I looked for a relevant xposed module, but didn't have any luck.
Caught the OTA on a rooted stock Google phone. Was going through the usual re-root steps when I noticed Wi-Fi calling remains on "Mobile preferred" even after applying the adb command. I've seen others run into this issue on the Dev previews, but haven't found a solution.
*#*#4636#*#* And go to Phone information, make sure Wi-Fi calling is enabled
Sorry can't help more VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling isn't big in the UK so don't know much about it
All that stuff was already enabled, unfortunately. Appreciate the effort.
Yea it's been a known issue with P. It forces Mobile Preferred despite it being set at Wifi Preferred. I didn't have this issue with Android 8.x.
So....any fixes for this? Ive have the same issue with my phone and my wifes phone (both Pixel XL). Was on the phone with Verizon for over two hours. Is there anyone out there smarter than these twerps?
Ever since my LG G7 was updated to Android Pie, the WiFi calling feature disables itself randomly. There is a thread about this on the T-Mobile support site, with many people complaining about the issue but the support staff only offers the usual delete cache and data or reset the phone which does not solve the problem. I do not have service at my house and without WiFi calling, I have no connectivity, so this is a serious issue for me. I have changed phones in the meantime. I am surprised that I do not see any chatter about the issue here. One thing that I did notice listed in reference to the Android Pie update on the T-Mobile site is this: "Android 9.0, Wi-Fi calling set to 'cellular preferred', May Security update". I suspect that whatever some hack did setting WiFi calling to "cellular preferred" is what broke it.
Any ideas possible work arounds?
Hi,
Per above, want to share 7T's wifi connection - travel often, hotels often restrict number of devices, also, roaming offices usually provide 1 wifi access too. WOuld like to share using the inbuilt hotspot.
I know Pixels and Samsungs are capable out of the box.
What are my choices on the 7T? I can see a wifi extend feature in dev. settings, but that doesnt seem to work.
Has anyone got an easy way to manage wifi-direct?
thanks
7T
Got same issue and kinda disappointed because i came from s9+ and Xiaomi MI 9T Pro and no issue like this.
P.S. hope someone have solution about this wifi hotspot
If rooted, this app can be used to share wifi.

You'll want to use the "repeater" mode.
Hello,
I have the global version of the mi9SE and experiencing very annoying issues when trying to access certain websites OVER MOBILE NETWORK (WIFI works) which returns errors as per attached screen shots, reporting certain sites (banking particulary) as can't be found or offline.
I temporarily managed to fix the issue by changing APN settings from IPV6 to IPV4 as per a suggestion on the forum of my French network carrier. Unfortunately with the update to android 10 and MIUI 11 erased these settings and now 4g or 3g for that matter simply fails to connect over IPV4 setting after update so I’m back to square one which is immensly irritating.
I can’t work out if this is a carrier issue or a software bug. I’ve tried the following :
- Changing Sim to another phone. No problems there.
- Changing browser. Both chrome and edge are the same as well as the native browser.
- Contacting bank who tell me issue not unheard of but have no solution.
- Contacting my carrier who claim not to have an answer.
I haven’t tried another sim in the handset.
Help would be much appreciated.
Hi
I also use French carrier, bouygues, using android 10 miuimix, just tried ing website and it works fine through 4g.
Have you tried a different ROM? You should have a menu to erase connectivity data in settings may be it could help

Hi thanks for your reply. Vey strange, I too am on Bouygues network and ING website doesn't work for me.
However I must point out that it is the secure part of the website that doesn't work so logging into the "espace client" part of the account, the home page DOES work. Same for you or not ?
I don't understand how it can only be me experiencing this issue which I've had for months now despite doing a factory reset, formatting etc. I'm using the stock global rom OTA from Xiaomi. I surely shoudln't have to flash another rom to get a working phone. I take it Miuimix is a ROM you're using on the Mi9SE ? Just how stable and secure is it ?
tks
MY WIFI hotspot won't work either. It connects to the network but refuses to connect to the internet. No such problem when placing the same sim into another phone and setting up the same hotspot. Could this be a problem with my device hardware I wonder ? I haven't done anything in particular...but these issues weren't there when I first bought the device.
For Hotspot I guess it's related to Android 10 update...
Just tried the secure part of the ing website and indeed it doesn't work for me neither on 4g. But Hotspot works fine.

Great thanks so much for trying at least I know it isn't just and so can conclude an issue with MIUI and the phone. Strange how adjusting VPN settings to IPV4 used to work but now doesn't. I fear the issue is embedded into the OS and I'll probably never find a solution . Wouldn't be so bothered if this was the only site but it's not. I first thought it was just a problem with the websites, then realized it wasn't when the same sites worked over WIFI.
As for the WIFI hotspot issue, still no solution to this problem. The same sim is fine in my Motorola and connects to the internet perfectly over 5ghz band. If I try 5ghz band on the SE, windows simply reports "unable to connect to the network" and over the 2.4ghz the device network will connect but reports "no internet".
It doesn't sound as If the two issues are related from what you say. Is it possible it's the windows firewall blocking the Xiaomi but not the motorola ?
