I really want to pick up the 10+, but I want to hold off a bit until I see what reviews say, plus the pre-order bonuses seem a bit week at the moment compared to previous launches, but as I have a Note 9 I qualify for $600 off right now. If anyone has any idea how long this promotion runs, please share, I want to save the $600, but also get hopefully better promos.
It's done when the first batch is shipped on the 22nd.
Just do it, you don't have to send your trade in until AFTER you get the new phone and there is a return period so if you don't feel it's worth it, send the new device back for a refund. You can choose to keep your trade as well and after the return period expires they will charge the difference - $600 in the case with a Note 9, for example.
If you wait for the reviews you're gonna miss out.
Even then, the best experience is using the device in your hands.

I wanted to buy the note for some time, but i was disappointed in the sprint launch of note 3 so i wanted to know if the price will drop for the note 2 when the note 3 comes out. Right now i see a price of $249.99 for upgrade but how much lower will it drop or will it even drop the price?

it could drop to 200$,but most likely, they will discontinue selling the note 2.

Price on note 3 vs note 2
So yesterday I went to Best buy to pre-order the galaxy gear, and none of the ppl there knew what what the galaxy gear. So I continued looking around the Samsung kiosk that they have setup in store... mean while geeks search and educate them self's over the Galaxy Gear. I could help notice that the galaxy note 2 still have a price tag of 800 US dls... while the note 3 is being release for the same price. unless you are upgrading.. AT&T and Verizon is only 250, Sprint has their's for 350.
i see... thanks for the observation.. i see on amazon that sprint note 2 is on sale for 149.99 for upgrade you think i should take or not.. i never bought a phone fro mthere before
It's probably going to drop to $99.00 cause I have seen it as low as $149 depending on where you look. Radio Shack and Amazon are usually cheapest. Once the Note 3 drops it could even go as low as $49.99. GSIII's are free at Sprint right now.
When upgraded devices come out the price on the old hardware always drops while it is still carried. That just depends on what direction you want to go with your purchase. You can get the newest device or buy the Note 2 which in my mind is still new. I would review the device specs closely and decide which device will fit your needs.
Sprint has been having deals on the phones when they release. S4 had a bogo so who knows what they will do when it comes out. I'm with you I want the note 3 but I don't want to pay 350 for it. I've been debating on getting the nexus 5 or note 2.

thanks for the reply people. i ordered my note 2 on amazon for 149.99 i know that it may go down to 99.99 or cheaper when note 3 comes out but i cant wait for it. im using a busted up blackberry 9630 and it has really bad problems even with texting and phone calls loll ive played around with the note 2 on my cousins phones and i know how the developements are. if only note 3 was triband and a 300 price tag i would buy it but right now none of the options came up. so ill stick with my note 2 when it comes so i can put the cleanrom ace with perseus kernel that is truly amazing. its coming on tuesday and i ordered it last night! this will be a good enough phone till the note 4 comes out and which i can use my other line's upgrade next year for it and give the other person the note 2 =)
I was contemplating getting the Note 3 but I think I am over the big screen for now. I will probably return at some point but the N3 didn't have enough wow factor for me. I am actually looking to trade my Note 2 for a Moto X lol.
Anyone interested

I have a question. I am thinking to buy the Note 4 in the following manner
1) Pre-order the Note 4 on ATT website by selecting ATT Next 12 and adding a new line (this makes me eligible for a $100 credit )
2) Trade-in my old iPhone 4S at Bestbuy (value shown is around $40)
3) The difference amount i.e (200-40=160$) will be paid by Samsung ?
In this way I am having a savings of $300. Am I missing something here ? Please help
Thank You
Needs to be traded to the retailer where you're preordering
Does it state that in the fine print? Anyways AT&T is giving me 0 value for my 4S whereas bestbuy is offering me atleast 40$. So i am really confused what to do. I can't order from Bestbuy as Store pickup is required.

"Store pickup is required"??? Where are you getting your information from? When I have attempted to pre-order from Best Buy, I am told the pre-orders can only be SHIPPED to my home. There is no store pickup option. I know this because I actually prefer store pickup for my circumstances, but Best Buy will not give the option if you pre-order online. Now, if you go into a store and do it... that's another issue.

Yes. Looks like you have the proper steps as outlined here https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/Note4/
As long as Best Buy is an official trade in site...although I believe Sprint offers a little more in trade-in value. Which if it is the same Iphone 4S at AT&T listed here https://secure.sprintbuyback.com/cns/device_list...it is worth $202. Or it looks like it is worth $100 to AT&T...then you would only be waiting on $100 check from Samsung.
Best buy has a "deal" going on now.trade in any "working" smart phone get $200 on preorder note 4.
I'm on att.didn't ask if att deal only.
Preorder for $50 (get gift card to use toward perchase).minus $200 for used phone = $250 off $299 att note 4.waiting for phone to come in.
Will see if legit or just blowing smoke.ordered phone 10/19.

This is legit, traded in a prepay cheap Windows phone I had laying around and got the $200 gift card plus an extra $50 bucks for signing up in the early part of the year promising to upgrade through best buy. Put the whole gift card towards my pre-order of the nexus 9 ?
Preordered my att note 4 from best buy 10/18.picked it up 10/25 at store.put $50 down.they gave me gift card to use toward purchase.at time of p/u,I gave them a used galaxy S2(i777).they gave me $200 toward purchase of note 4.that gave me $250 toward the $299 note 4.after taxes it was $73+ I paid them.waiting to see if there is any fees beside activation thru att.this was a standard 2 year upgrade.
no trouble with my trade-in phone.
no questions asked.it turned on.they checked numbers to make sure it wasn't stolen.and that was it.I bought that phone with broke screen and bad charge port.fixed both.used couple a couple of weeks.
overall good experience.
now to see how well the note 4 does.

Damn I turned in two iPhone to att for the note 4 wonder If I can complain to att and have them price match or match this offer as close as possible. .
Go to that store, see if they are doing that deal.if so raise hell, tell them you want to return phone.get your money back go to different store.
I could only trade in 1 phone according to them.
I think that deal is nation wide. And I don't think they franchise.

I just came back from Best Buy and the sale representative told me to come back on 10/17 to trade in any working smart phone to get a$200 Best Buy gift card. Is this true? Do I have to wait another 10 days to do this?

Yes it is only effective up till the day of the release. So what i would recommend doing is pre-ordering it since this is required to get the $200 gift card. Then when you pick up the pre-order you will get a $200 gift card.
I plan to get the Verizon model. So if I come in on October 18, I would not be able to get that $200 deal of trading in an old smart phone?

From Samsung rebate program:
"Smart Samsung Phone.
Brilliant Friends and Family Deal.
Get a Guaranteed Total Trade-In of $200* on Any Working Smartphone.
Preorder the Samsung Galaxy NoteĀ® 4 from any carrier or retailer in the U.S. now through 10/16 (Verizon customers through 10/22)."
Im interested in this promotion as well, but not if it is only for a $200 Best Buy gc. The promo made it sound like Samsung cuts you a check for $200.
I wanted to use Best Buy since they will give me $10 for my Thunderbolt (the minimum required to qualify). Is there a way to do this and get cash instead of the gc? Thanks!

The phone is going to cost you $299. You use the gift card toward the phone. You still have to pay the difference. You'll walk away with $99 less cash either way.
There is no "minimum" value on the smart phone you are trading in to qualify with using the Best Buy trade in promotion when you preorder the note 4. Preorders must be done by october16th. They will take ANY working smartphone that does not have a cracked screen, water damage and must be able to turn on.
The samsung promotion does require that you trade in a smart phone that is worth $10+ to a authorized retailer (amazon, verizon store, att store etc).
Hope this helps
My apologies if this has been answered already, but if we have already preordered from best buy can i still go in and trade in a phone for the $200 rebate?

Yes, you just have to wait until the phones are in stock(released) before you can to the "special" trade-in.

Can we trade in a rooted phone with a custom ROM? I really don't feel like figuring out how to restore a 4 or 5 year old phone.
I don't see any language in the promotion that it can't be modified or anything. My guess, is they care less if it is rooted or has a custom ROM.
I wouldn't worry about it.
So does this deal mean you have to sign a new contract? I'm with Verizon on grandfather plan with a note 3 so would I be able to get the note 4 without a new contract

I am planning to get the z fold 3. Should I get it now or wait until Prime Day? Currently Samsung is offering it for $1156(with trade in of my cracked s10+ and first responders discount) along with $250 Samsung credit to buy accessories. During Memorial Day it was a free galaxy watch 4 but they recently changed to the credit. Also do you recommend getting the s pen with it? Thanks
I'd suggest waiting. The Fold 4 is close, and even if you don't get it, there should be good deals on eBay for the 3. You can also get a 3 renewed from Amazon for $900. With a no hassle return policy, it's not a bad option. I did that for the Fold 2, and it worked out great.
Unless you really need the pen (i.e., you regularly sign docs) I wouldn't get the stylus simply because you can't store it with the device.
Thank you
If you can wait, then I would wait for the Z Fold 4. I couldn't wait as my Note 8 and 9 started developing issues. So I got the Z Fold 3, which I am loving as I can use it for everything. I have purchased the Fold edition S-Pen, which makes it a much better experience. I will probably keep my Z Fold 3 for the 4 years before upgrading to a new unit.
Late to the party but just got my fold 3 for $300. Samsung had some ridiculous sale going on where the phone itself was $400 off and then I got $1100 trade in on my S21 Ultra.
Fold 4 coming out soon or not, I couldn't say no to $300.
Considering most models can't be rooted I'm not a 100% sold on another fold BUT there might not be any good alternatives though.
I might go back to OnePlus if I can get it unlocked at the beginning for custom roms, but I'd rather enjoy a device more than work on it. I have some hopes for the nothing brand but I'm not sure they're ever coming to North America.
I'd appreciate some good discussion about it and others thoughts.
Yes, I'll be looking closely at the Fold4 and if there's a reasonable tradein I'll very likely go for it.
The only alternative is the Vivo that has a great spec but not yet available outside China and will it have good support?
No. There isn't enough of an upgrade for me to bite the bullet. I'll wait to see what the Fold 5 has to offer or if there are other mfg. that come up with something better.
nahh im happy with my fold 3, does what I need and more. Fold 4 has little upgrades to make it worth it
Sammy is just not being competative. If I were to upgrade, I would be more likely to spend the $ on the Vivo X Fold. Unless Sammy has some huge surprises in 10 days - which I doubt.
Going to wait until the 5 cones out.
It would be a help if we knew when the Vivo Fold was going to be available.
If the trade in is good
Just ordered the X Fold, through Giztop.
.......so the device works in the U.S.A.?
I'm in the UK. Taking a risk but I know of another one that is working.
yeah, upgrading from Fold3 to the Fold4 1TB version
I'll be ordering the Fold4 the minute orders are open. Jury is out on Watch 5 classic 44mm though.
Just got my fold 3 on a RIDICULOUS sale, doesn't appear the generational gap between 3 and 4 is all that large. I'll be rocking the three until they announce/release the 5

I got mine for what I feel like was a great price early this year. Mint condition on Swappa (and the phone really was in mint condition) for 800+plus taxes and fees

That was a steal! I'm happy for you!
Ill upgrade if the cameras are vastly improved and include periscope zoom of some sort, that's my biggest gripe with my fold 3, sub par cameras. 1tb would be a nice since im running out of storage on my 512gb fold 3 so if they offer that i may do the upgrade for that even if the cameras arent what im looking for.
Yes, I had the first 3 and haven't had any issues. Hoping for a surprise pre-order only color, but the beige looks kind of cool.
Does anyone else think it is uneconomical to upgrade after a year, without fully paying off the Fold3?
